I ordered a drink which I instantly spilled and felt horrible about but they were quick to clean up and get me another one. Kimber was very nice and loved getting to chat with her. The eggs were fluffy and potatoes were seasoned and crispy. I got an horchata latte that I wish I could drink by the gallon it was perfectly sweet but could still taste the coffee very very good. My fiancé got a BLT and it was very good loved that it came with chips. They have a curry ketchup that was so so good don't pass it up. Cute spot tucked away in Old Town Scottsdale. Came to meet a friend for coffee and ended up ordering a blueberry scone! Our server was so sweet and came out to tell us scones just came out of the oven. Scone was tasty and my friend ordered side of potatoes and eggs and though their potatoes were seasoned well. They also had a curry tomato sauce that our server offered instead of ketchup and my friend really enjoyed it! Will note that their food (larger meals) were quite pricey. Parking is limited but found a spot right next to their location, possibly because it was early (8:30am). What a great find! While in search spot to grab some breakfast / brunch my wife saw Alo Cafe on Yelp. We had never been here before and I'm so glad we picked it. Tucked away on 1st St in Old Town Scottsdale Alo Cafe is a small, cozy and welcoming place. You get an immediate sense of hominess and warmth. We were promptly welcomed and told to pick any spot we liked. It wasn't busy at this point but I can sense it can get packed during peak breakfast time. A half-dozen or so tables fill a small space that's nicely decorated. There is also a nice patio area outside that I'll need to take advantage of of next time. The menu is terrifically varied and consists of fresh, homemade dishes. You're certain to find something ( many somethings ) to your liking. Breakfast dishes abound in many styles; southwest, traditional, European. Many lunch and sandwich items are here to choose from also. Linda opted for the Lox No Bagel Omelet with sliced red onions and capers ( her favorite ) and diced potatoes. I know it must be good as she actually ate the entire meal, which she NEVER does and usually takes leftovers to enjoy later. Not this time! I chose the Cuban Sandwich Panini with house smoked, pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard on a griddled sub roll ( stealing the wording from the menu here ) with a side of chips. Wow! First of all - delicious - and there's a lot there. This is a must-try when you stop in. But I'll need more visits to try more of the menu. All menu portions seem quite generous and pretty reasonably priced given what you get. Service is very friendly, welcoming and quick. I apologize for not remembering the name of the lovely woman who waited on us - I'm notoriously bad at remembering. That said, she was so friendly and happy to have us visit and seemed very pleased to be there. Wonderful lady. I've been a little "wordy" but that's how I tend to get whenever I find a place I know I'll want to return to and could easily imagine being a regular at if I lived closer - granted I'm only up in Peoria so not a terribly great distance. Do yourself a favor and check out Alo Cafe if you're in search of a great space with delicious, fresh food, good coffee and friendly service. My wife and I were staying about a block away at the Valley Ho Resort. We found Alo Cafe through Yelp. It was within walking distance, so we thought we would give it a try. We are so glad we did. We ended up having breakfast there for both mornings we were in town. It's a little out of the way and easy to miss because it's essentially in an alley. The original building obviously had new condos built all around it. It's literally across the street from Historic Scottsdale. They have inside dining, but the dining room is pretty small. They have a very pleasant and large patio dining area. Everything is made fresh. No microwaves. The menu is all original, not just the same stuff you find at brunch places all across the U.S.. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. We didn't have to wait very long to receive it. Stopped here for brunch on a Sunday morning around 10:30, we had to wait about 15 mins for our table. We got a Monte Cristo and a side of bacon to share. I've never had a monte cristo before but this one was delicious especially with the jelly it comes with! The bacon was cooked perfectly. Cold brew coffees were good and sweet. Overall good quality breakfast but the one complaint is the prices. $18 for a breakfast burrito and $17 for a plain bacon omelet along with $15 for two iced coffees was a bit overpriced. Came here with my beautiful girlfriend on the morning of Parade del Sol which is the annual festival here in Old Town Scottsdale in which they block off part of Scottsdale Rd. and have a massive parade through the streets. I've been here once before just to stop by and check it out and try their coffee, but this is a very small restaurant with a quiet little patio. It's nestled in behind the Cornish Pasty Co but it is an Old town Scottsdale gem. I ordered a Havana latte, iced, which was delicious and great option for those seeking a sweet coffee to start their morning. My girlfriend ordered the 2 scrambled eggs with potatoes and sub French toast, and I ordered the hatch chile omelet. My omelet was delicious and I really liked how well seasoned and cooked the potatoes were. They were delicious! So was the omelet but I thought the potatoes were the most delicious thing on the plate. The service here was nice and attentive and the server's recommendations were helpful. If I lived in Scottsdale, this would be my go-to brunch spot. It is delightful, tucked away from the hustle and bustle in a cute little brick cottage with a lovely patio. And the food-- wow. Delicious. I had the honey herb bramlet and it was just as good as I hoped it would be. Triple cream brie, herbs, and a drizzle of honey? Say no more. I got the horchata iced latte and a mimosa, which were both so good. If I weren't gluten free, I would have gotten the Estonian Dessert Bread- my friend ordered it and it looked absolutely amazing. The hash has large chunks of shredded beef - not the minced pieces served in many other places. Everything was cooked perfectly and is clearly made fresh. We brunched here on a lovely holiday weekday with my equally lovely Boba Sistah and sat on the patio. We split a cornflake crusted French toast and the tortilla Espagnola and also tried out some rusks. I also spied a horchata latte on the menu so naturally I had to get one of those. The horchata latte was very tasty! It had just the right amount of sweetness and had a nice balance of horchata flavor with coffee. Our server recommended dunking the rusks into coffee or tea and after receiving them I can definitely see why. The rusks were more like a super hard textured, dry biscuit. They weren't very sweet nor did they have much flavor. After dunking them in my coffee they were still pretty hard. I'm glad I tried them but it's perhaps an acquired taste? My husband really liked the ones I didn't finish and brought home though so hey, to each their own! The French toast looked and tasted amazing! It had a fabulous blend of textures from the crispy cornflake coating, to the custardy inner bread. Sadly, our first choice, the tropical French toast, was not available but the cornflake crusted French toast did come with some fruit in the form of macerated strawberries which were delicious on top of the toast. The tortilla Espagnola was like eating a potato pie, with thinly sliced taters, held together with an eggy mixture. I was lucky and snagged a spot right next to the cafe but in general, there's not a lot of parking right next to the cafe. My boba sistah was able to get a spot nearby just a short walk away though. My boba sistah and I met up here for a holiday brunch. There's limited parking next to the cafe, but some additional spots in the alley/lot behind it which is where I parked. It's cute and had a nice outdoor patio, which is where we were seated. It's dog friendly and we saw a few while we were there. We started with some horchata lattes (I got mine hot, my companion got hers iced) and some rusks to accompany our drinks. Nothing special, more of a savory than sweet flavor and didn't really soften in my drink, but glad to try it. The coffee was good. I ordered the Waffle Cristo without ham, and it was a good sweet and savory combo, which is what I look for in breakfast because I can't decide! Came with some berry jam and I asked for some Tapatío for my eggs and turkey. Overall I liked my dish but the turkey and egg did cool quickly because of the weather so that wasn't fun (I can be a slow eater). My friend ordered Alo Signature Corn Flake Crusted French Toast, which was topped with berries, and I tried some - very yummy! The Tortilla Espanola was also tasty. Alo Cafe is adorable & Yelp helped me find another 5 star business while traveling! I read the reviews and knew we had to come try this lovely little breakfast spot which turned out to be no more then 10 minutes from where we were staying. I'm glad I read the reviews first as Alo isn't immediately easy to see from the main road, If I had been looking out for a sign I could have easily gone past it as it's tucked away. But since the Yelp community is so good at giving those kinds of heads up I knew what to expect & our GPS lead us to Alo Cafe without issue. We saw they had a small parking lot in front of the business and were lucky to get a spot. Alo Cafe is dog friendly so we sat on the patio with our puppy. The patio was super cozy and beautiful. Low key but we felt comfortable immediately upon seating ourselves. The service here was super friendly and feel good vibes. They are dog people which I so appreciate. They made us feel welcome and helped make suggests on the best menu items to try. From start to finish the service here was 5 stars great hospitality. Alo Cafe has a more eclectic menu and fun drink and food items I had never heard of before. I love a unique menu & variety especially when it comes to breakfast items. We opted for the tropical French toast (guava sauce & fresh tropical fruits) and then the corn flakes crusted French toast with a homemade sausage Patty. The food was to die for 10/10. Went to brunch today, a chill little spot. The inside is small but they have a large patio with umbrellas and misters. It's right behind Cornish Pasty if you can't find it. We sat on the patio under a large umbrella. 2 of us ordered the Corned beef which was really good and the other ordered the Chilaquiles which was good but spicy.
