Man Texas ain't cheap. Coming from the bay area, I thought we were the most expensive. But Texas is just as expensive and the portions aren't any bigger! This restaurant was nice though. Mostly empty and the staff was very attentive. We ordered a couple of grilled fish and some pho, of course. They have one size and it's about a regular/medium size. Tasted just fine like a chain and comes with all the fixings! I'd recommend coming here if you have a big group, their place is defintiely set up that way. read more

It is one of the best baked catfish in the DFW area, in my opinion. We got the smallest one which is medium sized . It is meant to be shared between 2 to 4 people. It was just me and my hubby so we had left overs enough for another meal. The catfish itself was good but the star of the show was the sauce. It is stinky but oh so good. Service was okay. We will definitely come back. read more

My husband and I went here with his cousin and GF and it wasn't too bad!! The food came out fairly quick! Okay so I hate to compare this place to the other can nuong places but I do feel like the other fishes have more flavor. We ordered an XL fish and it seemed like a large but maybe I'm wrong. They do give you lots of noodles and veggies. They don't skimp on that!! The Bo la lot was pretty good. It was a good size too! Other places make it kind of small so I'll give them a 5/5 for that. I would come back to try other foods beside ca nuong. My husband liked the wine bottles decorated along the walls. He was expecting cheap bottles of wine but they were pretty good bottles. Service was amazing but there were only 2-3 other parties there when we dined in. read more

The worst customer service ever!!! They made us switch to a smaller table after we already ordered and gave our food to our old table. When we called them out on it they just completely played it off. How did someone that just sat down already get the same item I ordered when I've been waiting 30 minutes. Never coming back. I would rather go to dong que ot even Saigon block. They are much more professional. read more

Ca Nuong Mien Tay - 45 minutes waiting for our water - Vietnamese Near Me - Richardson, Texas

This is one of my dad's favorite Vietnamese restaurants and he took me and my brothers here for lunch. Its storefront is newly renovated and I'm glad to see that they have much more business now compared to the past. We all got a different form of their shaken beef dish. I got it with stir fried pasta, one of my brothers got it with regular rice, and my dad got it with fried rice. We all added an egg to our dishes. I love the sauce that they use for the beef and the rice and noodles are perfect for soaking it up. It comes with a lot of stir fried bell peppers, onions, and even roasted garlic. The beef is pretty tender and has a nice chew. Overall a really solid dish. read more

In the old mall along Belt Line Road in Richardson, Texas (east of Dallas) that has recently had exterior remodeling. Mostly Vietnamese families, and extended families meet in this nice dining hall for big family dinners. I came solo for a bowl of pho soup, but I saw a chicken soup made with broth that is spicy with basil leaf, so I got this instead. The play modern music overhead, but everybody is deep in conversation at the banquet tables. You will see things on this menu that only the Vietmamese eat when they grew up. There is a bar here, but this is Sunday night, none of these diners will be drinking booze. Free parking lot in front, shared with a karaoke bar next door, and also a large gameroom / video arcade that stays open late. read more

I tried this place here recently with my family, and enjoyed our experience. They have a good set up for large parties and family gatherings. The place itself is actually clean and welcoming compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. The seven course spread was served quickly and great. The catfish was delicious. The skin had an excellent crunch and the portion was great. read more

The 3rd grilled catfish (ca Nuong) place I know of in the DFW. 8/10 overall - Not as crispy or flavorful as Saigon Block - Mam Nem is less sweet and pineapple tasting, but still good - No wait times, service was faster since it was less busy - Ambiance, super OG Vietnamese style especially with the viet shows on their tvs - $70 for large size, feeds up to 4 read more

Decided to check out this restaurant as my family loves going to Saigon Block for the grilled catfish. We heard this place makes it and wanted to give it a shot. Came during lunch on a weekday so it wasn't busy. Lots of to-go order pick ups. 1. Grilled Cat fish was delicious. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside side. Looks of peanuts and green onion toppings which I enjoyed. Mam nem was slightly sweet imo but good. 2. Banh hoi comes with banh luc lac which was plump and tender, grilled meat was really flavorful, the shrimp on the sugar cane stick lacked a little flavor. 3. Mango salad was really good. Light and refreshing. I also thought it was slightly sweet but would order again. Nothing special about the ambiance/decor but the staff were nice and attentive. Will definitely come back again. They have a lot of things on the menu that I want to come back to try. read more

My mom and I shared the banh hoi 3 vi and it was a delicious way to satisfy our craving for spring rolls. It comes with 3 choices of protein hence its name along with veggies, rice paper, and dipping sauce. The service was great and our food came out fairly quickly. The owner also gave us complimentary nuoc mat, which was super sweet of him. The restaurant itself is very spacious and had many televisions to watch different things along with Vietnamese music playing in the background. read more

New grilled cat fish in DFW alert ‼: 1. Grilled cat fish is moist on the inside, and has a crispy, flavorful char on the outside. The sauce (aka mắm nêm) enhances the natural flavors of the fish, very authentic taste (intense taste), the way I like 2. Grilled grounded beef wrapped in betel leaves (aka bò lá lốt) is very juicy. Overall: Recommended for authentic Vietnamese dishes, 5/5 #dfwfoodie#dfwasianfood#vietnamesefood#grilledcatfish#bòlálốt #cánướng#mắmnêm#asianfood Ca nuong mien tay 1718 E Belt Line Rd, Richardson, TX 75081 https://maps.app.goo.gl/K97F7tRerKPphDve7?g_st=ic read more

Came here by a friend's recommendation to try out a newly open place (less than a month) from those that does not comprehend Vietnamese, the name of the place is translated as Fried Fish from the South so fried Catfish is a must but I had to admit, the catfish did not impress us. We ordered size large ahead and the size was not large. The flavor was ...ok but the mắm nêm was so it gives the dish higher point. We saw someone on Google recommended mango salad with shrimp & squid and we all thought was really good (plate was completely empty with in a couple min ) the shallots topping were home made (if you know you know) the peanuts topping were also roasted homemade...there were legit young green mango (that texture is unmistakable ) We order the variety rolling plate (I called it that but it's Bánh Hỏi plate and I don't know how to translate ) was good and portion was generous and the seasoning was on point on all of their topping ...I wish the thịt nướng got a little more fire/smoke flavor to it. Price point...with all the inflation going on, I don't even know anymore but there were 5 of us, we ate good and the bill came out less than $150 (not counting tip) Overall i gave this place a 5 not because its perfect for there are rooms for improvement (server awareness are not there ....) but for a new restaurant, i feel that as long as food quality & flavors are there, and the establish willing to improve, they'll earn the 5 fair a d square next time we're dining there. read more

Came here on a Sunday Afternoon and the service was your typical viet restaurant so no complaints there. We got the Hu tieu Nam Vang and Banh Canh Cua. I wouldn't say it was the best we've ever had but it hit the spot. I do see that this place is known for their Baked Cat Fish so I will have to come back for that but from what I saw from other tables ordering it, it looked and smelled so good! oh, I did enjoy the Soda Chanh Muoi was real good and refreshing! read more

The Ca Nuong Da Gion is amazing. Perfectly cooked, crispy outside but still tender and juicy inside. They also actually give you diced chilis with your toppings and sauces. Location is clean, would be great for a big group as well as just dinner for two. Service is good, it's also BYOB. If you're looking for Vietnamese catfish, this is the spot. read more

Service is very very slow. And waiter forgot to give us water. He just walked by and said oh forgot after we say for 20+ mins. Dinging only 1 star but management def needs to address. Grilled catfish is good, moist but not much of the peanuts and other stuff that comes with it. That's what makes it yummy. Plus they didn't debone like Saigon. They do give plenty of mints which is a plus. Sauce was NOT good. Too sweet, color was off. This is what makes the dish so another star ding. Overall, prob won't do fish here but will come again to try other dishes. read more

The BEST fried fish in town!! We've been trying to find something better since Saigon Block hasn't been good the past decade. The Fried Fish is big, delicious, and reasonably priced. The family meals and fun foods were all really good especially the cold intestines, frog legs, and bò bảy món. I also had the cơm gà xối mở (waterfall chicken) and it's one of the better ones outside of Arlington. Stay away from the Salty Lemonade and you'll be good (bland). Oh, they premake their Vietnamese Coffee so it's not fresh and they will just microwave the coffee if you ask for it hot. read more

Today I Order Online the Fried Fish ( Ca Nuong ) and Banh Hoi Vi 3 . They prep everything so nicely , They gave me plenty of Mix Salads ( 2 Fresh Bag) Very Nice and Fresh along with extra Sauces . Outstanding Fast Services, I order and it was ready in 30 minutes. read more

First time I came here for the baked catfish spring rolls and decided to try their noodles. So far so good! Came during lunch hour and it was pretty slow, hope this place gets more love! Prices are great compared to how some pho places have gone up recently. Ambiance is typical, but it's byob. It does have the incense smell though if you're not too keen on that, but I don't mind it. read more

This was just an OK place. Food, service and ambience were just average. We had a large group of 20 and ordered 2 fish in advance which were brought to the table on time. Staff was decent but didn't go above and beyond for the $ they charge. It's fine for a casual lunch but not for a large gathering. I've been wanting to visit this restaurant since I first spotted it awhile ago. My wife and I frequent Vietnamese restaurants, as she is Vietnamese herself. Well to put it mildly, what a disappointment! Food was average at best and not even close to our expectations. To make matters worse the price was above your average Vietnamese entree price. The conclusion is the price far exceeds the quality, not good value for what is plated and paid for. In today's competitive restaurant world this place isn't going to make it in the long haul. read more

Great food, great value! Love the salads, seafood goi here. Will definitely come back.

The good was decent, but the customer service is horrible. Me and my family were celebrating our cousin's birthday at the restaurant. The one server handed the plate to one of my relatives. The spoon from the plate dropped and the server got irritated and gave out a loud grunt. The interactions from the waiter made our dining experience terrible. Don't go here if you're looking to have a good dinner with friendly waiters. I guaranteed you will have a bad experience with the staff there. read more
