They hang Vietnamese artifacts everywhere from snacks to comic books to stickers, and the walls are covered with pictures of their extensive menu. It took us a while to decide on just two items but we will definitely be back. One thing to note is that they do not have a tip option when paying with a credit card since it is self service, so bring cash to tip. They also have self service iced tea which is a nice touch. Rice Cracker With Vegetable and Caramelized Sauce / Com Chay Kho Quet Rau Luoc ($17.50): Wow, finally a place that has this and does it right. The rice crackers were crispy but not hard and the kho quet was umami and had a nice spicy kick. The rice crackers and vegetables paired perfectly with the sauce. This is the best kho quet I have ever had and it made my husband's top 3, which is saying a lot since he grew up in Vietnam. Combination Sticky Rice / Xoi Man ($12.50): I loved the flavor combinations, especially the pate with the rice. I would have liked the rice to be a bit stickier since there were a few harder chunks, but I just ate those with the kho quet sauce and it was fine. You also get a generous amount of protein, especially the hard boiled egg slices. We were completely full after just these two dishes. I came in during lunch on a weekday and this place was actually empty. I just ordered the Thai Dessert with Durian and the E11- Lemongrass Fish Fillet and holy moly, my taste buds were in heaven. For those with fussy Asian parents, I know this place will leave them with little complaints. A forewarning if you come for their famous Milky Jelly Dessert (Chè Khúc Bạch); a lot of folks popped in asking it but it usually is sold out until evening and they have to prep more. I haven't had Vietnamese street food in a while and this place did not disappoint. I got Bắp Xào, Bánh Mì Nướng, and Chè Thái with Durian. The price is decent and they give you a lot of food. The Bắp Xào is average and I usually eat it with tương ớt as well. The Bánh Mì Nướng is really good though. They cut the bread into smaller pieces so it's a lot easier to eat. I wish the bread was a bit more crispy and warm though. Surprising combining the 2 food together was a great combo since the sweetness of the corn cuts down the saltiness of the grilled bread. The Chè Thái with Durian was phenomenal, it was perfect for a hot summer day. I wish they give you more durian though because it was like $12. The interior reminds me so much of Vietnam since I grew up over there. Everything they hang on the wall brought me back to my childhood. The walls are decorated with pictures of food and some funny memes. The service was really nice but the food did take a while to bring out. So far, I have tried 3 different drinks and 2 food items, and everything has been delicious and highly recommended. This spot specializes in chè and boba tea, but they also have a big selection of Vietnamese street food on the side. I ordered their durian che Thai, and I originally expected it to come in a bowl, but it was actually served in a boba cup with straw and spoon which worked out just fine. After seeing this place on social media, I decided to give Snackie Viet a visit but ultimately I left a bit disappointed by my experience. The food is "mid" tier at best, with the Cheese Shaking Fries being my least favorite item that I tried. The fries were pretty dry and not really seasoned at all, they tasted like McDonald's fries but with less seasoning and flavor, and powdered cheese dumped on top. I also tried the rice paper rolls which were ok, but didn't have much flavor either and were really sticky and difficult to eat (a lot of them were stuck together on the plate). By far my favorite item was the Garlic Fried Pork Belly rice, as the rice was pretty flavorful and the pork belly was decent. The service was pretty fast, but the water cups they give are very small so I frequently had to get refills. I think overall I probably won't come back here again... read more
