It is a very small restaurant and nicely designed. It is right off the main lobby so there is a certain intimacy that is lacking. It is not a fine dining restaurant because it is just off the entrance to the hotel and the reception area. We were during happy hour and had wine from the happy hour menu and calamari. The calamari was good. For entrees I had the NY strip with French fries substituted for vegetables and my husband had marinated lamb chops with salad. The NY strip was decent and the cowboy butter served with it added a lot of flavor to the steak. The steak had too much fat on it. The service was very good. There was only 1 server working so she was kept very busy. It was good. If I could rate 3 1/2 * I feel that would be appropriate.

The steak, night one, the rib cap and the second the filet. Both were cooked perfectly, but the rib cap was the clear winner. First time ever seeing it on a menu and we were not disappointed! The lobster risotto was good, not the favorite. The Wagyu croquettes were good. The free bread...whatever it is it's to die for. I also did not picture the mac n cheese waffles, I ordered and ate one there, but took the rest back to the room, because I knew I would eat them later. The broccolini was not my cup of tea, they could have been cooked longer. Now the things I did not enjoy. The fries looked good, but definitely could have been cooked longer, there was really no flavor, and the lobster add on with the steak was more like a half of lobster with stuffing in it. For a $38 add on I would skip that 100% every-time. Ultimately the food was well worth what we paid. Now, the service. The first night amazing, the bartender was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. I couldn't ask for anything to improve. Food came out it decent time as well. The second night. Well, to put it lightly...terrible. Our server was non existent, and to be honest everyone at our side of the bar just sat there and waited. Everyone waited about an hour for food, but you could at least offer drinks or even the bread in the meantime. Our water and drinks were left empty multiple times. Everything came out at once(we waited 45 minutes just for the Caesar). We had to ask for the bread the second night. The server we had the night before was on the other side of the bar that we wished we had sat at. The second night just was flat out disappointing in the terms of service. I get it was busy, but the night before was as well. I know when we come back up in a few months we'll probably come by again, but I do hope it will be a repeat of our first night!

I'd order it again, if they could refrain from the drizzle. The Fritto Misto (calamari strips, a couple of large prawns, and salmon chunks) with aioli was serviceable but not very crisp, and overall unexciting. 3rd place. Going back to the Mussels--this dish exceeded all expectations. They were huge, very fresh, bountiful for the price, and swimming in broth that struck the right chord between tomatoey and briney. The hard, oil-drenched pieces of bread served alongside were unnecessary though. We were lucky to have friendly neighbors sitting at the table next to us, who asked how we liked the flatbread. We traded pieces of flatbread for bites of their Steakhouse Nachos (made with potato chips rather than tortilla chips). The nachos were crispy and delicious, especially when dunked into the chili that napped the plate. They were very rich though, so a couple bites more than satisfied. The beautiful patio ambience and attentive service more than made up for any inconsistencies in the food. 4 stars overall.

My wife hosted her bridesmaid proposal brunch in Carlino's private Alberni Room on July 4th, 2026…read more Twelve guests, two weeks of detailed planning emails, and a final bill of $1,061.16 including a 20 percent automatic gratuity. Breakfast came at approximately 11:00 AM, the salad course at approximately 12:00 PM, and the mains at approximately 12:40 PM. A morning meant to end at 1:00 PM ran to 2:00 PM. In between, nobody checked on the room. Her mother, a bridesmaid and her brother each had to leave the table and go find a server, roughly every ten minutes, across all three courses. There was no water service. The only pitcher was the one left in the room during setup at 10:00 AM, shared between two tables for the entire event, never refilled. Her father and brother, seated at a connected table Carlino arranged, were never offered the mains at all. Staff assumed they did not want to eat and never asked. Three requests later, the fix was to take food off the platters already on the main table. Nobody asked about allergies or dietary restrictions at any point. One guest has a dairy intolerance and received her replacement main at approximately 1:15 to 1:30 PM, while everyone else was eating dessert. We raised it with the assistant general manager before leaving, and were told to email the events manager. Carlino spent three weeks acknowledging in writing that several of these things went wrong, asked what would be a meaningful resolution, and then on July 31st refused every single option: no gift card, no refund of the automatic gratuity, no credit toward a future visit, no gesture of any kind. The space is lovely and the food was good when it arrived. But if you are trusting Carlino with an occasion that only happens once, understand what the recovery looks like when it goes wrong.

The whiskey cocktail was also quite underwhelming. Food-wise, the Apricot Salad was probably my favorite. It had a caramelized sweetness that made it feel almost more like a dessert than a salad, but it was still refreshing and enjoyable. The Wagyu Meatball, on the other hand, was quite dry. It was very different from the meatballs I'm used to having served in a rich sauce. For the main course, we had the brie-filled pasta with Argentinian shrimp. It was okay overall, but the pasta itself felt slightly undercooked. The biggest disappointment was the dessert -- a traditional Italian lemon and white chocolate dessert. Unfortunately, the lemon flavor tasted very artificial and almost like a strong lemon extract, which made it difficult to enjoy.
