We stop at Busken anytime we're in the area. My husband grew up in Cincinnati and this is his go-to donut shop. We weren't even looking for donuts today, but we were nearby so we stopped. The cases are always well-stocked and the staff gets you in and out quickly , even when there's a queue.

If you know me, you know I love desserts. My friend was craving their double butter coffee cake, and we went in to get our sugar fix. This bakery is a lil stop of heaven. There's donuts, cookies, danishes, cakes, cupcakes, breads- everything! We stopped our intense urge to go crazy and just got the coffee cake. That cake is DELICIOUS. So buttery. So crumbly. So so good. It is rich and every bite leaves you feeling full in your heart. We could have finished it all, but we resisted the temptation and portion controlled ourselves. Is this the best coffee cake? No. Is it the best dessert out there? Also, no. Does this make you feel good? Yes. For about $9, this is worth it. If you like buttery goodness, double recommend.

Saw Bengals cookies and had to have them for Sundays game. In case you've been stranded on a desert island, the Bengals have beem winning and hopefully on their way to the Super Bowl for the second year in a row. And the bakery was full of orange and black goodies. And people were scooping them up. Hometown bakery full of hometown cheer! It doesn't get any better than this.

I like to consider myself a bit of a donut snob, but I have to say Busken has some of the best yeast donuts around. They have a nice glaze crust and fluffy interior without being too dry. They're quite large too. Mh favorites are the Tiger Tail and the classic glazed. Their cakes are awesome too! I love a thick buttercream icing which they use, and the white cake I've tried is a flavor that'll please anyone. Great idea for birthdays, graduations, etc, especially since they can make custom cakes for you.

Best donuts in all of Cincinnati, hands down. Whenever I come back to Cincy, a busken donut is a must get for me! Never dry, always fluffy and well coated with icing. Try their tiger tail too, so good!!

Wow, what an awesome bakery! My first time visiting, and was a little overwhelmed when I walked in. Staff was so nice and eager to wait on us and make recommendations. Love the iconic smiley face cookies but purchased lots of other things to try and share with my coworkers in Louisville. Delish!

I've heard about Busken Bakery so much over the years living in Cincinnati but I somehow never visited one or tried any of their baked goods. I decided to finally check them out on Christmas Eve last year. I was psyched they were open seeing as I was in need of some cupcakes on the fly and wanted to get something unique and special. Unique and special is exactly the kind of baked goods Busken seems to specialize in. I found the most absolutely adorable Christmas themed cupcakes there. They were so cool. They were very fairly priced as well, which I wasn't expecting. You could tell the staff there had had a pretty busy and hectic morning that morning, but everybody was in great spirits and were super friendly and helpful in assisting me in picking out the perfect cupcakes for the occasion. And let me tell you, these cupcakes were absolutely delicious. So rich and sweet. They were so cool looking we all felt bad eating them..but oh man were they tasty. Now that I've experienced Busken once I'm hooked. I can't wait to go back and try more of what they have to offer. And will definitely think of them next time I'm in need of some baked goods for a party or event.

Ask the Community - Busken Bakery

Are their cakes any good? Fudge cake or birthday cakes?

I actually do like their yellow and fudge marble cakes (never tried chocolate). They usually slice the days cake and sell them for $2. Give it a try.

Are they considered a "nut free" bakery? I need treats for my child's school and the whole school is tree not free. Thanks!

    No, they sell nut products

Is it just me or do the doughnuts taste different lately? They seem to have a more oily, fried taste as of late.

Yes, me too. Their classic donut wasn't really great this time.

First, it's…read morelocated in a really lovely part of Pendleton near a part of Broadway that's permanently closed for pedestrians and outdoor dining, so the ambiance is really nice. The inside of the shop is interesting, with knickknacks and things to look at in every corner- kids would love it for this reason! I immediately noticed that there were no prices on the menu... there were cups displayed on the counter with small/medium/large pricing but it wasn't clear what these cups were for- it looked like shakes. It was very off-putting for me to not know the prices of what I'm ordering, especially with more specialty items like cookie dough or coffee/ice cream creations where I can't predict a standard price. Second, there was only one dairy-free option... a cookies and cream ice cream. While it was tasty, it was my only option and that never feels great to order something because you have to. It also didn't have a description or any info available so I was left wondering what made it nondairy... almond? Coconut? Oil? Of course at a creamy whip type place I'm not going to expect the entire menu to accommodate me, but it's nice when there are at least a couple other options- especially with coffee, it would be easy to have a nondairy milk available or a sorbet/dole whip since they already carry many flavors. I tried a tiny bite of my husband's edible cookie dough and it was delicious! Seemed really sweet though- he could barely finish his side by side because it was so sugary--a good problem to have :)) I think I would go back if I had friends with me or happened to be in the area for Blink or the pool or something, but otherwise I would probably choose somewhere else where I have more options s and I know what I'm going to spend.
