Outstanding, Outstanding, Outstanding wood fire grill steaks, chops and seafood house!!! Hidden Gem in the heart of Charleston just off Market St. Discovered this spot in downtown area tooling around, being adventuresome after deciding to keep trucking past my standby Fleet Landing. The steaks were perfect. The atmosphere perfect. The drinks were On Point! Romantic spot to spoil your life partner. Visited this place to celebrate our 33 yr anniversary. I will be back!

Burwell's is one of my favorite spots in Charleston, especially during happy hour. The hot stone is such a fun and delicious experience and the glasses of champagne on happy hour make it even better. Do not miss the deviled eggs and their chocolate cake might be the best in Charleston. It can get a little smokey inside from the hot stones and happy hour fills up fast, so getting there early is a must. Great food, great vibe, and always a good time.

Arron was my server he did amazing . The food was good the steak was seasoned well. The small serving and three asparagus was good. The oyster appetizer was super good. The setting is so relaxing and welcoming. I ate all my food which is unusual. The margaritas was a plus and the shots of don hulio wasn't strong just right for the mood. My first time visiting was great. You should try it.

Burwell's is a must if you're a steak lover and enjoy, great service! We have eaten here before and they delivery every time, from their awesome cocktails to the apps, there is nothing that is not good. All the apps we had were just as good as they looked, cooked oysters, octopus, deviled eggs, shrimp cocktail, calamari and the caviar great to split with a larger table. My wife who does not eat steak, could not stop talking about how good the tilefish was, cooked to perfection with tasty grits and a special balsamic dressing, you know I had to get a couple bites! I went with the Wagyu steak 8 ounce and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had and cooked to perfection. So fortunate we were able to eat here again and I'm sure it won't be the last, book your next steak dinner at Burwell's you will not regret it!

We were on vacation in Charleston and wanted a great place to eat and we were able to get a reservation here. We were traveling with our toddler who can be busy at times. When we walked in the hostess was super accommodating to our little guy. She showed him the stone fire and gave him things to color on. The restaurant was very busy. They sat us upstairs where it was a bit quieter. We ordered an Arnold Palmer that was the best we have ever had. Our toddler couldn't keep his little mits off of it. We decided to go big and order the 20 ounce ribeye on the bone. It was over $100 but so worth it. It was the best steak I ever got. I had a glass of Cabernet with it that was so yummy. I can't remember the name but it was $17 and had something to do with prisoner or shackles. I got the scallops with risotto- so delicious and perfectly cooked. For dessert the blueberry peach cobbler alamode. The only complaint I have is that I would have liked a bigger scoop of ice cream on top, but overall everything was fantastic. Shoutout to the wait staff who were super friendly and attentive. He also made great recommendations if you aren't sure what to get.

BurWells is an underrated steakhouse in Charleston. Sure, they may skip the formality of the bowtie and the tuxedo shirts but what you get is amazing cut of steak cooked perfectly on a Woodfire grill with amazing sides and a very affordable delicious wine list.

Umm holy sh*t! For real, like dayummmmm! My palate was blessed by the good AF gods with this meal. No exaggeration. I started the night off with a blueberry smash cocktail. It was a vodka based drink. Light and refreshing with a mint twist. Next the deviled eggs. They were really good but hard to rave about the deviled eggs when the rest of the meal left me drooling The wedge salad was good too, but the best part was the bacon it was topped with. Thick and a great Smokey flavor Onto the steak. I went with the NY strip. Naturally not as tender as a ribeye or filet but I like what I like. It doesn't matter though, the steak was still super tender. Like melt in your mouth tender. I forgot to take a picture after I cut it because I devoured it. The flavor was incredible. Probably a top 10 steak I've had in my life. The mashed potatoes were ballin too The only knock on the restaurant was the smoke from the stupid Little Rock's people were cooking on. But it's not annoying enough to pass up on this great meal.

Burwell's is an exceptionally complete dining experience. It is the articulate professionalism of fine dining with the inviting family feel. Caviar from the Parma region of Italy; Wagyu steak from Australia; seafood sourced and partnered with CucaCo; a pastry chef sent from the gods and a staff that has deep personal roots. Burwell's is a prize in the Charleston food fair.

Burwell's Stone Fire Grill is one of our favorite restaurants in Charleston. The food is delicious, the service is fantastic, and the ambiance is nice but casual. We always order appetizers, and they are one of the highlights of the meal. Our favorite is the Signature Hot Rock which is a 700 degree black lava stone to cook your own Wagyu, filet or lamb. We also enjoy their unique presentation and taste of deviled eggs. They have a full bar with a large selection of beers and cocktails. For dinner, we really enjoy the steaks - always prepared to our requested temperature. The sides are also really good. Their desserts are also great. One of our favorites is the Hummingbird Cheesecake. So good! Our whole family recommends Burwell's.

We LOVE Burwells! We have been known to go up there just to order cocktails and appetizers. You can't miss the espresso martini, deviled eggs, octopus, and hot rock!! The service is always great and we love the smoky atmosphere.

This restaurant was very nice and had a great drink list. The food was very delicious and perfectly cooked. The waiter was very friendly and take great care of us for a birthday celebration. The restaurant is kind of smokey from the wood grill I suppose but it was not overwhelming. Definitely going back!

I absolutely LOVE going to Burwells! 2nd time around and we went for the Happy Hour experience right after they opened. Very low key atmosphere as we had most of the place to ourselves. I even got a personal tour of the upstairs area that is available for private events. Fantastic staff, fantastic food, fantastic experience every time!

An Incredible Evening at Burwell's Stone Fire Grill Joe and I had the most wonderful dinner at Burwell's in downtown Charleston. The food, the atmosphere, and the people made it such a memorable night. Joe's venison was perfectly prepared -- tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My seared scallops were golden and buttery, served over farro and roasted vegetables. And dessert was pure perfection -- creamy, citrusy, and topped with candied fruit and a mint leaf. Our waitress, Cathy, was absolutely delightful -- attentive, kind, and truly made the evening special. After dinner, we stopped by the bar to chat with Joe, the bartender, who's always a friendly face, and John, the general manager/owner, himself stopped by our table several times throughout the night. It's clear this restaurant is run with heart and passion. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Charleston -- where every detail is top-notch and you're treated like family -- Burwell's Stone Fire Grill is the place.

I have never had a bad drink here. I got the Batata Clarified Milk Punch (description in picture) which was fantastic. The toasted marshmallow garnish was a great touch for the season we were in. My mom got the Bourbon and Clyde and she said it was incredible. Description also in picture. The orange foam and pistachio crumble was a great addition. Another great drink for autumn. My second drink was the Smokin Indo which was probably my favorite. They performed the smoked glass technique with applewood which was not only cool to watch but added a unique flavor to the drink. We always make a point to get the assorted cheeses when we are here because they make a great charcuterie board. They switch up the cheeses just like they change their cocktail menu. Love to sit at the bar because it is truly an art to watch the bartenders make these drinks and really adds to the experience. Everyone who works here is super kind and knowledgeable on their craft. However, if you are able to be there when the two Doar brothers are working it makes it truly special. They give postcards with their check and there's a bowl of matchbooks sitting on the bar. One of the best cocktail bars in Charleston. Debated writing this because I selfishly want to keep it under the radar but it definitely deserves its accolades.

The service was on point and the bartender was killing it at the bar - multitasking making 3 drinks all at once. It was super impressive and I took a few videos of him. I'm giving 4 stars because the first cocktail I ordered was SO SWEET that I couldn't get it down. I tried to drink it but had to send it back. We asked when we ordered about the flavor profile and supposedly it wasn't sweet, but all 3 of us agreed it was way oversweet. My black manhattan was phenomenal and my husband had a mocktail moscow mule that was awesome. Overall, I'd come back again - just be mindful of the ingredients in the drink and modifying as needed for sweetness. Make a reservation if you can!

To start Abigail, our waitress, was attentive, helpful, super sweet and just about the best waitress I have ever had. My wife and I ordered a round of cocktails, expecting the usual great description with subsequent lack luster drinks. Last night was different, midnight bloom which is their take on an old fashioned, but really in a different league; Smooth complex, and satisfying. My wife got the Ruby Ruby which is sort of a pomegranate martini with champagne. Refreshing and vibrant. For appetizers we had the blue crab fritters and the pork belly. The fritters were crispy, light, and full of crab flavor. Virtually no filler. I could have eaten a hundred. The pork belly was crispy, and rich without being too heavy. They also serve it in a white sauce that I was still thinking about the next day. For entrees we got the Roasted grouper and the pork shank. The grouper was maybe a bit overcooked and dry, but the accompanying butter beans stole the show. The were rich, and layered with flavor. I will never see the simple butter bean in the same way ever again. The pork was fall off the bone tender without being dry. The sauce it was served in was a masterpiece. There were hints of apple, berry, cinnamon, and many other notes, I would drink it by the glass if it was available. We split the gelato for dessert. Pure delight. Smooth, bursting with flavor, and leaving you wanting for more. All in all, except for a small misstep with the cook on the grouper a near perfect dinner. I would go there soon because a Michelin star can not be far off, and then getting a table will be a near impossibility.

Finds your table, if you arrive early for a reservation we had luck with them seating us and he says a kind goodbye as we left each time. Nice list of 3 mocktails so even if not consuming alcohol one can look to play the part at the table and enjoy the flavor notes of a well made cocktail. The first meal we had was a bit of a work/get together meal. We ordered an assortment of items off of the menu and created a more tapas menu. The charcuterie board we picked the cheeses for and it was lovely. All as expected and quite surprised to find a cheddar I enjoyed. Came with some grapes, figs, nuts, honey and I think mustard. Glazed carrots were phenomenal. Heartily enjoyed the beet salad and thought the presentation was quite pretty. Lamb lettuce wraps are alright. Not my favorite of all the dishes served but delivered as promised, nicely cooked and presented. Spouse really liked the lamb wraps and were a stand out dish to them. Meatballs are excellent truly great texture and flavor. Escargot was a fun take on a classic dish. Finished with a unique strudel in its presentation it was quite pleasant. Spouse liked the peanut butter chocolate dessert. For brunch, I had the carrot ginger soup. Which I must say was a total delight. The soup had the hallmark texture and base flavor of the carrot ginger but it had a beautiful breath of savory and some heat seasoning wise to it. It was quite an elevated soup and heartily enjoyed! I followed the carrot soup with a French toast. I am all for softly scrambled eggs but the French toast was a touch undercooked. (I did not let the restaurant know or give them the chance to make right. I regularly eat soft boiled eggs and soft scrambled so I felt comfortable with consuming them.) Strawberries were ripe and tasty. The whipped cream was gorgeous in thickness and flavor. One in law had the caesar salad with croutons and grilled chicken. Their bowl was left clean so while they are not the talkative of sorts they did seem to enjoy it. Ordered a baguette with butter. Unfortunately the butter never made it to the table but the baguette was enjoyed. Spouse had the Azur burger with the side of tapas style potatoes. All was cooked properly to temperature and texture. Flavor and taste as promised. Wasn't their favorite dish at Azur as we had tried so many lovely dishes a few evenings before. But it did deliver on what was represented in the menu.
