I have not eaten here since 2006. The place is still good, and my order was made fresh. I ordered a chicken burrito with rice and beans, and it was soft, flavorful, and hearty. Service was excellent as always and the place reminds me of being in Mexico. It's cute with a Hispanic cultural style of restaurants. Easy parking abs prices are economical

    Shredded beef burrito. So yummy!

Customer service goes a long way with me. The service was phenomenal for being a small shop. I ordered a shredded beef burrito, as that is what they're known for. The tortilla was very nice, had chewiness to it that I really liked. The shredded beef was flavorful and I loved the refried beans in it. As I was driving by, I noticed the historic look of the building which drew me in. I thought, if this place has been here this many decades, they gotta be good. I feel I made the right choice. I really enjoyed my burrito as we drove back to Sacramento from SoCal. I'll definitely stop by again during my nest drive dow

Got the beef chimichanga for about $8. Pretty good price these days. Inside was just meat and cheese. No rice and bean filler. A good amount of meat too. Came out quick and was tasty with some hot sauce poured in it. Will definitely come back

I've stopped by this place for the past few times I've been in Pasadena. The staff are so friendly and kind. I always get the taquitos when I'm here. This is a small establishment with limited seating and it's even more limited during inclement weather. I would happily continue to support this business as Pasadena continues to rebuild itself.

    Bean & Cheese Burrito.

Old school since 1978. I got the Crunchy Beef Taco, a Carne Asada Soft Taco and a Bean & Cheese Burrito. The Crunchy Beef Taco was tasty and flavorful, but the meat in the soft taco was a bit gristly. The Bean & Cheese Burrito could have had some more cheese (my Humble opinion) but it was also good. I've been here twice now and they have lots of regular customers. The lady that runs the lunch crowd is super friendly and helpful, I'm going again just to see her!! (and to get the JVC Burrito). Prices are reduced when you pay with cash. Burrito Express is A'OK.

5 Star burrito spot in Pasadena! I tried a grilled shredded beef burrito with beans and cheese. Chefs kiss! If you've ever grilled a tamale then you need to have your burrito grilled, hands down. They have an excellent selection of burrito styles that reminds me of the wet burrito style. I'm looking forward to trying the spot on a regular basis with family and friends. It's a great idea to take it to go and enjoy at the local park. Quick tip, use cash to pay and receive a lower price. Although both cash and card are accepted. Staff is friendly and will make recommendations if you don't know what to try. I liked their salsa verde, just the right amount of heat. Their salsa roja is all about flavor with little to no heat. There are tables inside that remind me of a former taco stand I would go to with my grandparents. It definitely has a nostalgic feeling.

Burrito Express is a Pasadena institution -- it even has its own dedicated wiki page lol We got the Ross Perot and Pasadena burrito Vic's special. Honestly it was just ok...we got mild and there wasn't much flavor. Also they didn't include any additional salsas so we ate plain chips. My biggest gripe was the salad..the lettuce was soggy and the tomato was half frozen. This restaurant donated money to the wildfires which is so amazing. I'd come back and try other things!

Quesidilla w shredded beef which i love

Hi , Went again the other nite. Got the quesidilla w shredded beef. It was yum. But u do have to pay extra for onions and cilantro which i think is not ok. I get charging extra for sour cream and guac. But their guac is not good , its not real guacamole. Wish they used real guacamole. And i don't care for the mild red salsa , i like green salsa but its too spicey for me. :( but the burritos and quesidillas are good , just think onions and cilantro should be free ( like years ago )

Service was prompt and quick. I got the pasadena burrito and fries. It was good. The burrito was flavorful and the sauce was a good add on. The burritos ain't small here.

Staff were quite nice. When you check in on Yelp, you get a 15% discount on your entire meal. Nice! We decided on a chicken tostada and shredded beef burrito to go. Service was fast. There are 3 inside booths and several outdoor table and chairs. The food was mediocre unfortunately. Even with salsa in the meals they were lackluster. They are several other choices in the area so next time we'll go elsewhere. They have a very small parking lot and some street parking.

Is there rice in the burritos?

There can be. It's classic Mexican rice- some burritos come with it but you can add or take it out of any burrito. I special order all the time

Fluffy, snow-soft ice piled with real mango cubes and a milk drizzle on top - and even in the single-serving cup size, it was seriously worth it. We also tried the green tea bingsu, topped with matcha powder and mochi, which was solid but the mango stole the spotlight for me. Pro tip: the single size is pretty generous on its own, so unless you're trying to sample a few flavors, one cup does the job. We split two just to try different options and it worked out great for that! Parking along the street was hit or miss, but we went pretty late at night so it wasn't too bad. Sweet, refreshing, and exactly what a summer night calls for - will def be back to try more flavors, like the melon or strawberry!

You can order either at a kiosk or go the the counter to order there. They offer an extensive selection of snow flavors, syrups, and toppings. There's also a variety of other desserts and beverages, but I have never been able to resist the snow. Be aware that the small size is large enough for 2 or 3 people to share, and the medium is bigger still. On the several times I've been here, service has always been both cheerful and speedy. I usually only write reviews if I think the place deserves 5 stars, but now I will start reviewing…read moreeven when I think the place deserves lower ratings to help out the community of eaters pick the right choice! My friends and I chose Salju Dessert for some nice dessert because the ratings of this location seemed pretty good, but sadly we were disappointed. We chose the milk flavor and pandan. The milk flavor wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special. The pandan on the other hand was very bitter... We thought it may have been the toppings but figured out it was the pandan flavor. My friend described it as a medicine bitter taste, which I could agree on. We made a complaint and the employees happily switched it out for us for another milk flavor (maybe we should've chosen another flavor to try.) Toppings... the toppings were extremely expensive for such a small portion. It was around like $1.49 per topping??? Which is honestly pretty crazy. The toppings are set on the side in those small plastic ketchup containers. 4 Oreo cookies for $1.49, 2-3 buttercups smashed into pieces for $1.49, 1.5 strawberry sliced for $1.49, 1/8 of a banana sliced for $1.49... a container of chocolate syrup $1.49 you can imagine the rest that we added. Those portion sizes and prices are messed up lol The total was $35+ for 2 smalls with additional toppings. Overall, I don't think we will be coming back here for the shaved ice. There's definitely better options out there. The place was pretty busy too, maybe there's other items on the menu worth trying or they got bamboozled by the ratings... but in this economy, the presentation, taste, and price was not worth it and we wish we spent our money elsewhere. I usually take photos to share to friends on snap/ social media, but it was so disappointing I didn't even take any pics to show y'all. Very mid tier. Thank you to the staff who replaced our pandan though!

We got one Matcha + Vanilla and one Ube + Vanilla. They were both pretty underwhelming, and the shaved ice itself was very crunchy rather than that soft, fluffy texture I was expecting. The toppings were also pretty minimal basically a little red bean and one small rice ball. Another weird thing is that there aren't really menus available at the tables. You have to walk up front to see the menu, and it's pretty small on the board. We also asked for an extra bowl so we could split the shaved ice and were given a tiny cup instead and they were rude about it. The tables were also pretty sticky and could have used a quick clean. There were several employees behind the counter, so I was surprised the tables weren't being cleaned as people left. Overall, I just didn't think the desserts were worth the price and I wouldn't come back.
