Well, after the worst chicken ever yesterday at Ezell's I decided to try Burnett's. Since the place is Taiwanese, I had high hopes for flavor in their wings. I had the Spicy Asian Wings and on a scale of 1-5, they were a 1. Matter of fact, I found the chicken to be very bland. I was hoping for a spicy lemongrass flavor, but there was no flavor whatsoever. There was a solid tablespoon of crushed peppers on top, but those chilis had no heat or flavor. Last, at $12, it was overpriced. They claimed jumbo wings, but they were pretty much the same party wings you get from Costco, so at $2 per wing it was a stretch. At $9.99, I would have been ok with the price, but for $12, I needed a small side included. It was hot, it was fresh, and it was cooked correctly, but it didn't impress. I considered the garlic wings, but again, if they are just frying chicken that wasn't marinaded and tossing it in a topping, this is just a local pub pushing food service items. One of my favorite local bars, bomb ass food and endless Hennessy. Very divey little bar, a good option if you wanna eat and drink. There is a down side to this bar, recently it appears that the owner has been closing whenever she feels like. The sign on the door/hours reflected online are not what happens on a weekly basis it seems. For example, we showed up around 8:45pm one night (they close at 11pm usually) and the door was locked. Customers who were outside stated that they were kicked out early and were not allowed to order togo when they asked. Sadly I've been trying to catch them open a couple times now and have been met with this same scenario. The Fish Sauce wings weren't as tasty as other fish sauce wings I've tried before, and had to really drench my wings in the sauce to taste it. Although at the bar it wasn't busy but there were drinks and beers just left sitting and they never got them when we sat down and barely checked on us. They have hands down the best fish sauce wings in the Seattle and surrounding area. Yes, you may wait a bit to order, to find a table and get food. But this is a small 1 woman show, she has a helper in the kitchen and most times, but not always, a food runner or bar runner. Be patient and understanding, if you're in a rush or have an attitude this isn't the place for you. There is always good music, sports playing, fresh food and an owner who's is entertaining and doesn't take crap from anyone. We moved further but still make the long drive a few times a month. I recommend the fish sauce flavors wings as my overall pick. If you like a sweet bbq flavor, the honey bbq wings are good to eat in. Asian spicy, garlic pepper are great if you want an option to take home and air fry up great. As long as you don't get a sauced wing, most flavors can last an 1.5 hour drive home for us and still be crispy and not soggy. The fish sauce wings can be less crispy when we get home, but the flavor makes up for it. This is such an inconspicuous spot. It's a dark, divey bar, that's super easy to miss. Ifyou want the infamous wings (or anything else for that matter), you must make you way to the bar, or else you'll never get served. This is a bar, first, then can seat yourself at any table. You may or may not receive heartburn, but honestly, it's kind of worth it in my opinion. Also, they're great at absorbing all the beer and shots you take, so you'll leave full and not sloppy. Finally came here to try the wings after a few years of knowing about it. Asian ran bar and pretty small joint. They changed their look of their menu which you can find in a couple of the pictures posted. Looks like they run a tight ship with 1 bartender and maybe a couple people in the kitchen. Glad we went the time we did, because they were getting busy. We got there around 6 and they open at 4. You know when a place is #AEG (always eating good) when they have a lot of orders coming out of the kitchen. Aaaaaaand they sold out of rice. Hahaha like for real, hahaha... what Asian place runs out of rice?!! From the old menu, they've increased their prices. It makes sense during these strugg bus times of the pandemic.
