This is the worst BK I have ever been to. You get up to the speaker at the drive thru and they say they'll be right with me. 10-15 minutes they come back and take your order. Bad service. Went inside for a small order because of a line in drive thru. No one else in line before me. Someone takes my order then goes on break. I count 7 employees, most the women just standing around talking or making their own food then going on break. Just like nearly every other place in modern corperate greed America, this place is woefully understaffed. It is also the slowest Burger King I've ever been to in my life. I was in the drive through line waiting on 2 original chicken sandwichs for no exaduration, 20 minutes. It's gotten so slow here that I've literally just givin up on coming here because I could wait for a pizza to bake in a shorter amount of time. Burger King for me has the best breakfast items. I rarely order lunch but when I do it's usually a whopper. I do not recommend the fish sandwich. It's about the most awful thing I have had. But.. Ok, I really wanna like BK. My 1st Whopper was in 1972. I was a McDonalds fan, but I decided to step out and try one of theirs. It was a different burger. Flame-broiled, different taste from McD's. Good! Recently, based on Youtube reviews, I decided to try another Whopper. I was disappointed. While it had some of those characteristics that I remembered, It was lacking, primarily in its construction. Everything was smashed down and when I unwrapped it, it didn't look appealing at all. (See Photo.) Today I decided once again to try a BK product...The BK Spicy chicken sandwich. I tried to make an order with the App...Wouldn't let me. I walked up to the front door...Wouldn't let me in. I had to go to the drive-through and describe what I wanted to the girl on the other end of the speaker. Everything seemed fine. After paying $9.04 for the item, I got it. I stopped in the parking lot and looked at it. It was Not what I ordered (No Bacon). I had to go through the drive-through once again to reorder. I got what I ordered this time, but was it what I wanted? (See photos)? I will say that the chicken had some spice, it was somewhat juicy, but the bun was smashed down on everything. When I ate it I had pieces of the bun sticking to the outside of my molars. The lettuce didn't even seem to be the same crispness as on the Whopper I'd gotten a week before. What is going on with this place? When I asked why they weren't open, the gal told me that no one wants to work. We are in for some serious times, my friends... Their breakfast sandwiches are OK, but I was shocked with the lack of staffing (the drive thru was especially busy), and that they had several boxes of food items stashed on the floor. It looked like an accident waiting to happen- someone could've easily tripped over them, and isn't food supposed to not be on the floor at all? During the day, good service. But the weekend night staff is infuriating. About 1-2 hours before closing time they will just sit in the dining area and stop serving anyone coming through the drive-thru. I don't go to Burger King because the food is better than other local drive-throughs. It's not. I go because ( In the past) it was fast, and they generally have what's on the menu. Clearly things have changed. Rather that write a hasty negative review, I tried to contact the franchise owner. Sadly, the Manager claims to have no way to contact the Franchisee and was not sure about his(?) name, although it might be "Joe Ruben" . Maybe. (Apparently, she does not know who to call if the building is on fire.) Today, I spent approximately 35 minutes waiting for five cars in front of me to have their orders processed. I was told after committing to this short, but incredibly slow line, that they did not have shakes available. ( I would have thought they could put this on their menu with the many other items that are apparently unavailable too.( Apparently, covid must be causing a chicken shortage as well...God help those who may want a chicken shake!) ) Of the last 8 out of of 12 times, the people inside ( All two of them) could not bring their training to bear on fixing the shake machine. Apparently, its just too much for their training and knowledge-base to deal with. I suggest that BK revoke the franchise and turn it over to a qualified manager. Burger King used to be one of my favorites back when they had french fry battles with McDonald's and the dollar menus were invented. It went downhill from there though, and I hadn't been in years because of poor quality and service (about 10 years). Boy, this one is hard one to write... basically because I just happen to know all about this store; and I know both the general manager and the franchisee, and so I can write with some authority and accuracy about it, here. And, no, I don't work there (nor ever have), nor do I have any interest in it, or anything like that. So I humbly request that anyone who reads the other reviews on this page please carefully also read this long one; and then please take what it says into consideration. This store is owned by a local franchisee who has 8 or so other Burger Kings, and a few El Pollo Loco restaurants, in the greater Bay area. He's a pretty good guy; a serious and conscientious business man, who's also shrewd and suffers no fools. Part of his success comes from his not just lying down and taking it whenever Burger King corporate tells him to spend a bunch of money on some hare-brained scheme which his many years of experience have taught him will quite likely end-up being soon abandoned either because it really was hare-brained; or because Burger King corporate's new owner (it seems to get one every ten minutes) decides to tear it all down and implement a whole NEW bunch of hare-brained schemes. Burger King corporate's current owner -- the unlikely Brazilian 3G Capital Corporation, headed-up by Brazil's third-wealthiest man, Jorge Paulo Lemann -- may well be the best thing that's ever happened to Burger King. The changes its implementing are good, but they take time. I know, for a fact, that some of the equipment needed to prepare some of the new food items on Burger King's very interesting new menu (seriously, go look at it... it's very interesting... different, if you know anything about the quick-serve food industry) hasn't even been installed in this store yet, because the company making said equipment literally cannot keep-up. This store's still on the waiting list for a lot of it. But the new menu items which this store CAN make are excellent. People are noticing that they taste better; are being prepared somehow differently (because they do, and they are). Just notice the new salads. Or how the Whopper's lettuce tastes like they just picked it 45 minutes earlier; and the meat, while still broiled, is... well... different... better, somehow. Seriously. Go see for yourself. It's palpable. The changes are actually, by quick-serve restaurant standards, huge. Don't believe it? Go into this restaurant, now, and order a strawberry (or any other flavor, as far as that goes... I just like the strawberry) shake. You'd have to be lying and unfair of mind to not agree that it's about as good as any shake you've had... ...possibly ever, from anywhere; but certainly better than from any quick-serve restaurant... including even this one, in the past. It's truly remarkable; and not an accident. Those new TV ads you've been seeing (the ones which no longer creep you out with the guy in the scary Burger King mask), which say that new and exciting things are happening at Burger King, aren't kidding around. If you were on the inside, you'd be seriously impressed with the changes. Yes, this particular store needs to be remodeled. It looks like Burger Kings from 20 or more years ago. But that, too, takes time. And it's expensive... hard to afford, especially during this recession (and, no matter what they say, we're still in a recession) since 2008. Other of this franchisee's stores are ahead of this one on his list to get remodeled. Until this store's day comes, though, anything that breaks is promptly repaired, and the store's kept almost hospital clean. Seriously. Both Burger King's internal (corporate) inspectors, and also the tougher-than-most-other-California-counties Napa County Health Department inspectors, routinely give this store maximum points every single inspection. This store's manager is on top of her game... tough as nails... demanding... knows her job... and understands customer service. Her name is Mary-Anne. She's there Mon thru Sat, 9 to 7. Ask for her, and see for yourself. One thing Mary-Anne's not into, though, is Yelp. And so, godasmywitness, when I printed-out and showed her the negative reviews on this page (about an hour before I am now writing and posting what you're now reading), she almost teared-up. She had no idea. But, then, like the pro that she is, she got angry... though not at the reviewers. Instead, she got mad at herself for not being more on top of things; for not making sure that her managers were acting in her and the franchisee's best interest; and were running the store, whenever neither of them are around, as if they were. Some heads, I think, are now gonna' roll. Boy, is being an assistant manager at THIS Burger King gonna' suck for a while! This store's manager, like her franchisee boss, also suffers no fools; and is as serious as a heart attack about everything being the best it can possibly be. Just watch what happens, now. read more
