I was craving pizza and I was hungry, and I just have to say that this is the subway of pizza spots. I have had mod pizza before and today was ok. I know you get what you pay for and I know there are people starving out there in the world, but if I have to criticize flavor and texture and everything I would have rather have ate at little Cesar, dominoes, mountain mikes, etc. The lady was like an NPC she was nice, but no emotion like she didn't look happy, sad, or mad. She looked like she was just there to do her job, and I respect it, I guess I just like a conversation cuz I'm that type of guy. I came on a slow rainy day, not a lot of people, the tables were dirty from where I sat and the floor was dirty as well. Now for my full review on the food. The dough was out and ready to go for the customers to order, when the lady brought it out from the side of the counter top it was already dried up, I asked for everything I wanted on it and paid. When the food was done being made I was excited to eat it, maybe I ordered too much but the toppings all fell off and the cheese didn't hold it together. As for the dough I was correct! It was like eating a sky flake cracker with ketchup and lunchable cheese and ham on top! I don't think I'll be eating here often unless I was desperate and hungry for cheap pizza. On December 2nd I went to see a show in Napa. On the way out we got a craving for pizza so we googled up open pizza places in Napa. It was about 10:15 and MOD Pizza advertised until 11:00 so we zipped over there with plenty of time to spare. I entered the building at 10:29 p.m. underneath their neon open sign, noted the flame still burning in the pizza oven and all of the ingredients still out at the prep counter. I said "Hi, I'd like a pizza to go." The employees looked at me with confusion and announced "I'm sorry, sir, we're closed." I asked what time they close. They replied 11:00. I said it takes 12 minutes to make a pizza and I'm the only one here, so I'll be gone by 11:00, to which they replied I'm sorry, sir, we're closed." The manager then interceded. She was inconvenienced and angry. She declared that they had already turned off the dough press. I asked why did you turn off the dough press? She did not answer, only glared angrily before turning around to go in the back and leave me with the employees. So I said "I'd like a pizza to go." They did in fact not start a pizza but instead went in the back to get the manager again who came out to the front again who also did not start a pizza, but instead demanded "Am I going to have to ask you to leave my store?" I answered "That's how this works. I buy pizza to go, then I go. It happens here all day, until 11:00 p.m. when the store closes." She walked away again leaving the befuddled employees at the counter with all the pizza ingredients still arrayed and one customer in complete disbelief that MOD Pizza does not sell pizza. Usually they are ok. Today I ordered a couple pizzas and when I arrived to PU, saw them cutting this totally burned pizza. I asked if that was mine and it was. I asked that they remake it. Waited while they cooked a new one while the other pizza sat on the counter getting cold. When they called me, I opened the box and again edges were burned. I lifted it up and the bottom was black. We love Mod, but this one is terrible. Bad service, and very dirty. It's not appetizing to see this place. Not open for dine in which is fine, but front doors are closed to pick up your order. Several drinks at the drink station are out, and the drink station is absolutely filthy. Ordered online, that was a mistake, had we gone in first I wouldn't have ordered at all. My order was incorrect, my husbands pizza wasn't even a full crust, it was wonky shaped and small, and no ranch was provided with the garlic cheese bread w/ranch. The pizza's were burned and the g/c sticks were undercooked. It's obvious no one there cares about customer service. Or staying in business for that matter. It's a shame, as so many other Mod locations are friendly, clean and provide good food. This location should start over or just close. read more

Had a terrible experience here tonight. Really poor hygiene, no gloves used while handling food, masks not covering anyone's noses, manager would only partially put on his mask when I confronted him on it. He was rude and told me he was fine wearing his mask that way. And the other white kids working there seemed equally belligerent about wearing gloves and fully covering their noses and mouths. One young lady kept touching her face while putting together the pizzas. YUCK. The two Hispanic guys and black guy... well at least they were making an effort with both gloves and masks. Got it Mod Pizza! White people don't pass on Covid germs. After watching the manager show MY pizza up close to another customer while they both chatted over my pie, (the manager thought it was theirs), then take it back down to the counter and transfer it with bare hands to cut it, well... there was no way I was going to eat that pizza. I gave it a three because the customer service was better than average. The pizza wasn't bad , but it did not satisfy my craving for pizza. The crust was ok but the other toppings were mediocre which included pepperoni and sausage. After a long day of traveling, I wanted something easy I could pick up so I ordered a pizza online ahead of time to pick up at a certain time. When I arrived, my pizza was not ready, there was only one person in line and I was told they were "working on it." I waited for another 20 min before receiving my pizza. Honestly, I love MOD pizza, but this location ain't it. There service is absolutely terrible and Un-knowledgeable. I went there for buy one get one free pizzas, to split with my girlfriend. When talking to the guy I checked to understand the deal. He agreed that it would be free as the email ad had said. Upon going to the register the manager rudely explained that I had to have a person with me to get that deal. "I don't make the rules" explaining that if I wanted the "free" pizza I would have to pay for it since I was by myself. I told her that I didn't want the pizza then, and they proceeded to throw away the pizza that was already prepared and cooked. Seems wasteful, and disrespectful. I think maybe you could educate your staff on specific deals and let them know right away that customers can't have the deal if they're alone. The pizza was decent, but I don't want to support a business that isn't a "people place" (written on their pizza box it literally says "this is not a pizza place, it's a people place"...) this MOD clearly doesn't believe in that moto, and the manager certainly doesn't enforce it. For the same price in Napa you can go to numerous of spots and get better quality pizza, better service, and most likely go home with a reaction of "I'd go back there". Being a fan of Pieology, I was super excited to see that a similar concept was coming to Napa. I love the idea of being able to customize my pizza, on the fly, anyway I want it. Sort of like Subway or Chipotle but with pizza, what's not to love, right? Well let me just say there are some kinks to be worked out. To start the line to order is really long, and yeah sure, they're really busy. However watching their process you can quickly see where the bottleneck is. Salads and pizzas are made from the same station and each gets it's own hand written parchment designating what you're supposed to be charged for. This part seems to take forever but as the staff ramps up I'm going to guess this will get quicker. The pizzas are cooked hot and fast which is pretty cool, so no real wait there. Ordering is just a little bit of a pain. I did see another guest question how the pizza was being made, he was confused about the sizes, and the manger kind of lost his temper with him. So maybe they're a little stressed out. BTW, the pizzas and salads come in 2 sizes, mini and Mod, plus a third option that lays on an extra crust, not sure what that's about though the crust is pretty thin. The food does taste good. The mini Deluxe Salad was made right before my eyes with lots of fresh ingredients and was dressed perfectly. My custom pizza was acceptable, the toppings seemed like they were from a bag, they didn't taste bad, just nothing really special. The upside is that you can add as many ingredients as you like. I love being in control of my pizza destiny. Mod also serves a small selection of beer and wine on tap. I enjoyed a really good IPA though I couldn't tell what brand it was and I forgot what they told me it was. Easy to order, it was the only IPA on tap. Now the burning question, would I go back. Sure, but I'd wait a little while until the kinks are worked out of the ordering process. Also, beware that you order first and then find a table which on a busy night could be an impossible task. I've been to two MOD Pizzas now, and while my first ever visit to one was in Rancho Cordova and we for the absolute HOOK UP for being there for a Yelp event, I'm glad to say that MOD lives up to the hype outside of their Yelp Elite Events. I love pizza, and I'm quite fond of the business model that places like MOD, Blaze, Pieology, etc all follow. I get to eat an entire pizza to myself and choose whatever I want to put on it? I'm sold. It's relatively inexpensive and ready within a few minutes, too?! Can I eat this every day? In all seriousness, I am a fan of this business model, but somehow MOD steps it up a notch in comparison to their competitors, and I've seen this in both locations I've visited. The customer service is excellent. The ingredients are fresh. The pizzas are relatively large. And somehow, I think their crust beats out the competition. Pretty darn good pizza relative to the style of pizza. Been to Pieology, Blaze, 800F, and Persona. Relative to those, MOD is right up there in 2nd place for me behind Blaze. They have all the same topping options. The crust is thin but chewy. The best part is they have milkshakes here. They are quite tasty too. The workers are friendly and the place is new. One of many MOD pizzas I've been too, but the first time I've been to this location. Just like the other spots this was a very solid make your own pizza spot. My friend and I dropped by before seeing a movie down the street and even around 6:30pm on a Tuesday it was pretty busy. We didn't wait long though and I will say I really like the quality of MOD pizza. It's delicious and I love making my own custom pizza (see photo attached). I LOVE MOD Pizza! Of all the fast-fire pizza chains, MOD is by far the best. To start your experience, you'll choose from a variety of pizza creations on the menu, or build your own. Regardless of what you top it with, its all the same price-- which is a standout feature in comparison to similar restaurants. The toppings, sauces, etc. offer a TON of variety. My current go-to is with white sauce and mozzerella, topped with mild sausage, bacon, spinach, basil, roasted garlic, and their seasonal special-- brussel sprouts. Then I top it with a pesto drizzle after baking it. Every single part of the pizza was amazing. The crust was flavorful and delicious. The cheese was melted to perfection. The sausage was flavorful and you obviously can't go wrong with crumbled bacon. The garlic was roasted perfectly and served on my pizza in generous portions (I'm talking like... a whole bulb was probably on my pizza.) The brussel sprouts, however, were one of the highlights. I wish this weren't a seasonal item, as they were roasted and flavorful and helped me get a little something healthy in while I fullfilled my pizza craving. They also offer super cheap floats that are only a little bit more expensive than a soda. This was a nice little treat on my lunch break. The only mild downside is the staff. Don't get me wrong, they aren't terrible. But every time I've been there, its all young kids who don't seem to be too thrilled about being there. They talk to each other rather than the guests and often times not about appropriate topics. That being said, service has always still been quick and I've gotten what I needed, so I guess I can't complain too much. I'll be back! read more

They currently have a crew in there that doesnt clean anything, you can see the floor of the area they make the food in is filthy, the customer service is nonexistent. The quality of the pizzas has gone way downhill. The kids working at this place are all cookie monster pajama pants/taking geometry as a senior vibes. Obviously the job sucks especially if it is busy, but the last couple times i've been there this crew is surly, puts little to no care into making the food, and just doesnt care. I used to like getting pizza here when it was the only option in this city for cheap pizza that was still decent quality. Not gonna bother with it any more. No filter needed for this one! This was a quick stop from Napa to San Francisco... I decided to try them out because it looked very clean and I LOVE pizzaaaa!!! I couldn't decide which I loved more the delicious pizza or the quick and easy service! I love brick oven pizzas. They are my absolute favorite.... and the crust was perfectly cooked. It was a thinner crust which I definitely enjoyed but it's not for everyone! I love to try new pizza places and I actually prefer thinner crusts. I am definitely looking forward to my next stop here!
