The worst Burger King ever. Place is dirty as soon as you walk in. I ordered a whopper with bacon and cheese, when i got my food the bacon on the burger was not even cocked, when i went back to the counter to tell them the bacon is raw, i saw the person making the burgers and noticed that he was the manager and he was making the food with no gloves. When they said they were going to make me another burger i told them i wanted a refund, he then gave me my money back and continued to make the other peoples burgers with no gloves on. What happened to this Burger King? It has gotten so bad this past year or so. Drive-through takes so much longer and they always seem to be understaffed. Food not always cook right and orders come up wrong. And they don't honor the national promotions like other Burger King's. it is now consistently bad to the point where I drive to the next town if I want to take advantage of the current promotions because this location does not honor them. This Burger King is awful. The customer service is absolutely ridiculous. I ordered the new ghost pepper chicken nuggets and requested extra crispy. (Their chicken is always mushy in the middle) sure enough, they didn't follow my request. The worst part is that when I ordered she said she had to make them and it would take 2 minutes. So she had me back up in the drive thru so I'm not parked by the window. Makes no sense! If it had to do with Covid I would have gladly rolled my window up since it is raining! Filthy!!!!!!! All the tables are dirty, even the "clean" ones. French fries, garbage and Who knows what all over the floor. The place was not busy at all, I guess they don't have time to clean. But, one of the two people working did have time to come out and sit behind me and stare at me while I ate. My whopper was awful, barely warm and dripping with mayonnaise and ketchup. I got one whole tomato slice on it, wow! The lettuce was very dry and some of it actually made it onto the burger, the reminders were mostly scattered all over the wrapper. My french fries had lots of little bits of burned up black stuff in them. I honestly have no idea how this place is still in business? It's embarrassing how filthy and how poor the quality of food is. I've never actually been to this one before, I went to the other one in Martinez years ago, but that one was so filthy and disgusting I quit going there before they finally got shut down. Back in my University of Iowa days, there was no Sunday Evening meal offered at the Dorm, so we would drive out to Coralville and "Dine" at Burger King. After all, we were all on a budget. It was also a more honest experience than the scam a friend played. He would order some odd Pagliai's Pizza combination over the phone (near closing time) and then walk in under another name and buy the Pizza for pennies on the dollar to "help" them clear their "abandoned" inventory. This was also around the time when their advertising jingle included a song that included "Hold the pickles, hold the lettuce, special orders don't upset us....Have it Your Way! My roommate at the time had a wicked sense of humor and would demand that the folks at the counter "Sing It" before he would pay. I'm still occasionally fond of the Burger King Chain, especially regarding the Whopper, Fish Sandwich, and Onion Rings/Sauce. However, I recently promised my MD that I would lay off on this kind of unhealthy stuff, but I have known to occasionally drive through this Martinez Burger King for a Breakfast Croissant on the way to work. My nieces love BK chicken nuggets. So when baby sitting for my sister, we decided to take them to get their favorites. We have been in line waiting for over 40 mins in the drive thru. And unlike some drive thrus, once you're in line you can't leave. I would've totally drove off. This place is a joke and we will not be returning. WHAT'S UP WITH THE MAYO! I buy veggie burgers here and there from Burger King. They're delicious. This is my first stop at the Martinez location; I usually shop Walnut Creek's BK. So imagine my surprise when my healthy, kind-choice burger opened up with a sh*t-ton of mayonnaise on it! It was so gross how much was on there. WC never does this to me. Almost all of the lettuce was removed upon discovery because it was so smothered also. Many patrons eating a veggie sandwich are doing so because it's healthier or they love animals. I do it for both reasons. And BK makes an awesome veggie burger. Seriously. I'm not a vegetarian, and it's really enjoyable. I wouldn't necessarily order this item at every fast food place but if I'm eating here, I'll order it every time. Next time I do, it'll be without mayo. I prefer mustard anyhow. read more

I have lived in this neighborhood for the last 8 years and I can't remember a time when I have been to this Burger King. After swearing off McDonalds, I watched The Founder movie and Ray Krok is a scumbag, I needed a quick bite as I would be in the car for the next 2 hours. The order...sausage biscuit. Quick, easy, cheap. However I was lacking. I should not have been so cheap and ordered one with an egg. But should an egg and a slice of cheese cost $3 more? It is not that much more labor and the cost of the eggs they use are not that much. Service was happy with a smile. That was the saving grace of my meal experience. What did I learn today? There was one car in front of me in the drive-through and I waited for five minutes. That I was told could I please wait....,I ordered a kids meal and they couldn't get that order right. I also ordered an iced coffee, which was horrible it was more of a chocolate milk. When I pulled up to pay for my food I was not greeted with a smile. Happened to be shopping across town, stopped for shakes at BK just before getting on the freeway to head home. As the driver, I didn't taste mine until well on the way & situated in the fastlane. It was disgusting! Like drinking warm-ish flavored milk, blek! Apparently my teen didn't know the difference b/c he didn't warn me, haha. Rather than drive ALL the way back to Pleasant Hill, I decided to stop at our local BK to see if they could remake or refund. DESPITE frequenting this location quite often, I will never go there again!! I explained what happened, and this woman, Roxanna, was so rude, apathetic, and eventually shrugged & said, "I don't care." Corporate told me that any location should be able to help me, but apparently the mgmt/ owners here don't follow corporate mandates. They told me to drive back to where I purchased it. Ownership and or management of this location has got to be the worst fast food operation of all fast food operations the we have consistently been experiencing the last few years. We like Burger King but sometimes elect to go the neighboring town just to avoid this location. However, because it is just a few minutes away from home, we continue to give it chances to see if service has improved. Unfortunately, that was not to be the case during our last visit earlier in the week. Again, with just one other customer in line at the drive-thru, I had to wait 10 minutes at the order screen before someone spoke through the speaker, and that's only because I had to call out several times to see if anyone was available. Only to told that I would have to wait further before my order could be taken because the gentlemen was working alone taking orders and preparing the food for customers both inside and outside the drive-thru. I found this to be shocking but not all that surprised because it seems to be common practice at this location that they run a skeleton crew of usually two people pretty regularly. Hence the slow service that has been on going now for several years. WHAT IS MANAGEMENT DOING? The Burger King corporate office needs to address these issues or I can see this location closing down very soon should things continue in this manner. About half the time when I come around, their milkshake machine seems to either be broken or off. This is not the best option for late night milkshakes. I generally order the veggie burger with fries and a milkshake (it's tough trying to go vegan, so don't judge, 'kay?). Been here twice in the past couple months, and both times I had terrible service from completely different staff members. First time my order was messed up on multiple accounts. The staff was very slow, apathetic, and seemingly incompetent in trying to assist me, and fix my order. Also it seemed the person directly helping me couldn't understand English well, and gave me the wrong drink multiple times. That whole situation took about twenty minutes and included me going into the building after I had already been through the drive-thru. The second time I went it seemed the staff member taking orders through the drive-thru was not paying attention, didn't know any of the meal numbers, and couldn't understand what I was saying through the mic. At the window I received no word at all from the gentleman the entire time I waited. He shoved my debit card very aggressively into my hand which caught me off-guard without eye-contact or saying a word. This Burger King and it's staff have a weird feel about it, and I think it may need some better management, staff, training, and remodeling. OMG!!!! I just went to BK in Martinez. At first I though they were close when I went in. Than a guys walks in I asked oh r u guys closing? He said no. I just threw the garbage out. He came behind the counter to take my order. After taking my money he than went to open the freezer to get my tacos and handled it to another guy working. He was cleaning something towards the back area Lord knows I didn't see that guy change gloves or wash his hands. So I called on the first (Johnny) and asked him shouldn't u wash your hands since u came from outside to throw away garbage. He told me he used hand sanitizer. Oh no. That doesn't make it ok or clean enough for u to touch food. He said it's the same thing. I said no it's not. U threw away garbage so u should wash your hands.
