My family and I ordered in the drive-through a couple minutes ago. The female worker manning the comms system was unintelligible to understand me as I was clearly enunciating my words while placing my order. When I clearly stated "4 frozen strawberry lemonades, 2 large and 2 medium", she said nothing about how this item was no longer on the menu. By the time we get to the front window, we are met with the surprise of ONE large regular strawberry lemonade and 3 medium regular strawberry lemonades. It was already upsetting to receieve what we did not order because we did not want the regular lemonades, we wanted the frozen versions. She did not tell us about how it wasn't available when we were ordering. Then to not even get the correct sizes?... To top it off, by the time we got home, they charged us for a meal they did not fully provide. We were missing a 3 pc. chicken tender combo meal. The only Carl's Jr near me and if I'm ever close by I will usually stop by for lunch. One of my favorite burgers is the jalapeño double cheeseburger. The line for the drive through is usually not too long and the employees work very quickly. Well this is a fast food place. You have to have certain expectations when you go in. Carl's Jr used to be one of my favorite restaurants fast food or not because I thought they were above fast food. But their quality is declined lately a lot I had a western bacon cheeseburger which is okay and I ordered some onion rings which were horrible. I guess they used to have beer batter on your rings and they were made with whole onions. I don't know what these were made up but they weren't very good Staff works heard there though and the management is usually pretty friendly and helpful. This Carl's Jr.'s is right around the corner from my house and they have delicious burgers which means I eat there all the time and can provide a pretty solid review. I've always found the staff to be very polite and kind, no matter who helps you. Only rarely is there a mistake made on the food. The reason why I took off three stars is the drive-through. And the fact a small soda is $3.55 . You cannot ever expect, under any day or circumstance, that you will have a quick drive-through experience. You can expect to sit in the drive-through for an extended period of time, even if you are the only car, there are no other cars waiting and you order something small. The road traffic on Ygnacio often makes it hard to hear them while ordering, and for them to hear you. Carl's Jr.'s is delicious. But you will have to sacrifice the time and the money to scratch this itch. read more

I had to do an overnight appointment at Kaiser and was pressed for time so I decided to stop by Carl's jr (I hardly ever eat fast food). I ordered two western bacon cheeseburgers (one for me and one for my son. First of all it $34 WTF?!? Then when I opened the bag it had one western bacon and the other was a dry a$$ hamburger! Because it had been years since going to Carl's Jr. and we were in the neighborhood, the DH and I decided to go for lunch. The menu was a little different from what we remembered but we decided to try the Gold Digger Double Cheeseburger because it had bacon and the price was $3.99. Minimal staff on hand and felt so bad for them. The same guy taking our order at the counter was also handling the window. Despite the lack of staff, they were able to get our order out in a timely manner. Kudos to the staff! The burger was okay, nothing special. The burger needed to have two patties to make it taste decent because they were so small. We didn't feel like the burger had that charbroil taste that made Carl's Jr. a step up from other fast foods. If you don't want to shell out $6-7 for a burger, the Gold Digger Double Cheeseburger is a decent way to go for the price. read more

I'm a big Carl's Jr. fan. It was my second job back in the olden days (1980) . Everytime me and my wife visit this Martinez location, we live down the street, its always near perfect. I mean there is a soggy fry now and again but our food is always good and plentiful. The staff is really nice and the service is great. If you like burgers, come visit this location you won't be disappointed. Ignore the 1 star reviews written by overly emotional people. Everyone needs to work, however if you're not intent on doing somewhat the best you can be, maybe customer service isn't where you need to be. You should probably look into a job where interaction with customers isn't your primary objective... with that said you can probably guess how I felt about my order fulfillment. This place needs a serious SOP change, and/or management change. I ordered a Large Fry and a Fried Zucchinni. Now, general SOP would probably state that you fulfill orders as they are numbered on the screen... however if an order, as small as mine, is up there, and the orders that were made before mine contain full meals, sodas, desserts etc, it would probably help if you look ahead of your to-do list, and try and get customers out quicker, rather than just in order. I had to wait 15 minutes for these people to fulfill my order of Fries and Zucchini... something that is mass cooked during rush-hour lunch. These items are consistently cooked to keep up with demand, so it makes sense that while you wait for prep to finish your burgers and such for an order, you look ahead, and say "oh, i can get these fries and zucchini out now!" But no, that's not what happened. Again, I waited 15 minutes for FRIES AND ZUCCHINI. That's unacceptable. SOP's need to be re-written to accommodate easier orders. What, are they going to fulfill 6 full orders, before someone who just wanted criss cut fries, just because he's the 7th person in line? GTFOH. Carl's, GET YOUR SH*T TOGETHER. read more

Sometimes you just need a decent fastfood burger and fries for lunch. Carl's Jr doesn't disappoint, the food was fresh and hot. Even during the rush of the lunch hour the manager (a shorter middle age w/ greying hair male) was pleasant to both walk in and drive through folks. He seemed to have it down like a well oiled machine. I try not to eat this stuff often simply for health reasons but I was both satisfied and full when I left. This place is normally pretty good, but for a few Friday afternoon orders, I received messed up versions of what I ordered. Food is great overall, but there is an issue currently going on with all locations I've visited. You all need to stop putting the green crunch less flat parts of the lettuce on the sandwiches!! The lettuce is supposed to CRUNCH, not be flapping in the wind! My love for the bacon ranch crispy chicken sandwich has been disrespected by this oversight and its damn rediculous. Black ink from the drink cup rubbed off in mass and got all over my food, fingers, and clothes. They seem to ignore complaints. First off, I just want to thank Carl's JR for adding the amazing beyond burger patty to their menu. It's nice that they actually keep people in mind that are vegetarian/vegan. Secondly, I'd like to thank Matthew at this location for providing excellent customer service. If I had cash on me, I would have tipped him. He's helped me a few times and even remembered my order. I eat here way too much. Food is pretty good most of the time. The breakfast burger is awesome. The staff are really cool, they let me hang out and do some work. Nice people. The best people. Place always...smells. Not sure what the smell is...but it just...smells. That's my only complaint, really. Seems kind of dirty without being dirty. Drive through can be kind of on the slow side sometimes, but I don't really use it that often. So, overall, I think 3 stars gets it. If they could do something about that smell and speed up the drive through, I'd give it at least 4, possibly 5. read more

My most favorite Uncle came to stay with me for 2 weeks to help out while I recuperated from surgery. And to help out with the baby. He is an amazing cook and amazingly convincing when it comes to talking us into getting fast food for dinner. When he saw the double Western Bacon Cheeseburger commercial it was to much for him to handle. I however got a Famous Star with Cheese and some Fried Zucchini. My husband got Chicken Strips and Onion Rings. Of course we regretted gorging ourselves on greasy fast food but its a special occasion so why not. Some of my Zucchini's were kind of bitter and left a bad aftertaste. My husband said his Onion Rings were second to none. The Fries my uncle got were horrible. The worst Fries Ive ever had. Now the Chocolate Shake that my husband got was rediculous and suprisingly good for a fast food shake. So rich and chocolatey. This dinner really isn't helping me get back into prebaby shape. I have never really been disappointed with any of there items. I decided to be bad today and try the grilled cheese burger that just came out and that's been making me drool every time I watch there advertisement...I am just like a kid, I still want my grilled cheese. So while in Martinez today, I decided to swing by the Carl's Jr that I have been to quite a few times over the years. I ordered the grilled cheese burger with no bacon and no mayo and you know what? It was slamingly delicious!!! Burger was thick and flavorful, Swiss and American cheese was melted to a creamy oooey, gooey goodness - all sandwiched between two slices of perfectly grilled (though still soft) sourdough bread...Mmmm Heaven!!! And I don't feel guilty at all!! They even have decent onion rings. I really wish they still had the low carb breakfast bowl that they had a few years back...Oh well I'm satisfied with there burgers for now. read more

I occasionally end up at the Carl's Jr. if I'm hungry enough for a burger on the way home to Albany. The drive thru is a bit hard to get to and Freeway convenience can be challenging both ways. The burgers are good and contrary to the commercials, I order the smaller sandwiches. I also like the crosscut fries. However, this place consistently makes errors with relatively minor, but irritating order substitutions. And their takeout system doesn't always seem to be running on both cylinders. read more
