    Classic Benedict w/ Country Potatoes

This one is for you JB~ Why are people so afraid of Chili? Yes. It's a controversial topic man... "Ahh man...I got my white T on..." "It's just like a little too messy for me for breakfast..." I can hear all the excuses in my head. But I honestly feel like the Momo is one of the most underrated dishes on Vics menu. And I will even admit I was a little guilty at first. I think when people have that first meal at a restaurant they really cherish, they are always striving to relive that experience they had the first time. Because let's be real. Not every item on the menu(Even at your favorite place) is for you). But the beauty of Vics is that you can relive that first time multiple times because their menu is that damn strong. It's not something where just a couple of the songs on the album is fire. Nah man. The whole damn album is godlike. That's what Vics menu feels like. That being said we gotta talk about Chili. Come on now. Let's not be shy about it. Unless it's some random Chili Burger, Chili Dog, or Chili Fries at some sporting event, you aren't eating chili at most a couple of times a year. I think it's safe to say that as a society, we don't really fuck with Chili. It get's a bad rep almost. "It's just too heavy/messy..." Bro. Curry exists. It's amazing. It too can stain your shirt and if it's your favorite one, I'm sure you wouldn't care if it did. It's like we all have this hidden PTSD from like that ONE time you had chili and it just didn't deliver. Well let me be the one to say that you won't be let down if you order the Momo. Have you ever been to Momoland? No? That's ok. Let me take you there. First off taters. Yeaaa man. Tater TOTS. And the best part, is that they are still somewhat crunchy and solid underneath all the melted cheese and chili. The Chili itself is amazing. I'm actually not sure if it's the chili itself or if it's just everything as a collective that makes me unable to put my fork down. Fresh tomatoes definitely help. I mean when you're having something heavy in a dish like this, it's always nice to have an ingredient that eases the heaviness of everything. The Red onions are nice too. Along with the tomatoes they add a touch of natural sweetness to the overall dish. It's funny how two simple ingredients do much for the overall meal itself. But finally, you have fresh avocado and two over easy eggs on top. Avocado is just another ingredient to balance out the ruggedness of the chili. And plus let's be real, we all still love our Avocado. I think with the egg you gotta do the over easy though. If you are trying to be optimal that is. If that's not your jam, then you can definitely get the eggs more cooked. The Momo will still knock your socks off. It doesn't matter what kind of Egg connoisseur you are. The dish will be amazing regardless. I just think the golden yolk cascading into the melted cheese and addictive chili is chef's kiss. ORDER THE MOMO. ORDER IT!!!! It's a chili dish that's done right. I feel some people might of thought it's a dish that a stoner thought up or something. No man. This dish is the truth. You should "definitely" try it. Let's get over this chili PTSD together. I'ma be your therapist. Ya know, some people go to church. Some people meditate. Some people do cards. As for myself? I eat The Momo to transcend my humanity and get right with my soul.

Friday evening my mother, baby boy, and I enjoyed a beautiful evening on the patio of Vic's in Martinez. The patio was nice and spacious that we could easily fit my son's stroller. They have space heaters for when it gets a bit cooler. We started with the brussel sprouts. They were plentiful and delicious. They were prepared with browned butter, bacon, sage, shallots, caramelized apple, chili, and a balsamic glaze. The apple really made it! For entrees I had the shrimp and grits which is loaded with large pieces of shrimp and smoked sausage. My mom had the seasonal pollo Provencal and swapped out the polenta for mashed potatoes. Another large portion and great flavors. We had a lovely time and love this local gem!

Cute restaurant in what looks like a residential area of Martinez. The wait for the weekend brunch was around 40 minutes. The tip is to join the waitlist on Yelp ahead of arriving. There is some street parking and a small parking lot. For dine-in walk around the back to the patio to the hostess stand. The inside seating was a little warm. No fans circulating. They have a large patio. The interior is very cozy with pillows and some tables have half bench seating. While you wait to be seated they have cornhole outside. It looks like some people ordered drinks for while they waited for a table. Service was kind and quick. They were good with communication when the soda machine was down. There is a carafe of water at each table. We ordered the morning glory, ube hotcakes, and the margarita. The portions were pretty large. I left full and with half of my sandwich in a box. It's a little pricy for brunch. The average is $25 per person.

Came here for lunch and it was worth the 40 minute drive. There is street parking and a small parking lot. Keeping this in mind it's not a lot of parking but thankfully was not crowded. The hostess stand is by the parking lot. We were sat immediately and our server was great. We sat on the patio under the gazebo. It was pretty outside so it was good. As of yesterday there are pre mixed drinks. My friend bought the burger and added an egg and bacon. I had the honey hot chicken sandwich. We BOTH devoured our food. The fries are seasoned fries and were seasoned to perfection! I'm not a big Cole slaw fan but it went well on the sandwich. I highly recommend coming back here!

Breakfast Burrito w/fruit & cold coffee

Fantastic!!! So, so, so impressed. About 4 of us stopped by during lunch, and one of my friends located this spot. Very thankful she located it. This place is quaint and has very very friendly service. The two ladies who helped us were quick and tentative. We ordered the honey chicken, breakfast burrito, churro waffles, and a couple of cold coffees. We actually ordered by way of "scan the QR code" which is located on the table. At first I thought this would be an issue, BUT, I was wrong. It went well, and all of us walked away very pleased with our choices.

Head to Vic's for breakfast or brunch deliciousness! Everything we had was ridiculously yummy.

I love this place. It's cute and feel like a little home away from home. They have a great selection of food and drinks for all palates. My favorite is the breakfast burrito with tater tots of course. The pancakes are also a good idea.

    Rosie's omelet

My fiancé and I came in as they first opened to be surprised by how deserted it seemed except for the sole worker. She greeted us and informed us to sit where ever we'd like and that there is a QRcode for the menu. We did not expect or realize that it's now a self service/self order place. Which is why the original staff that was always friendly and helpful were all missing. After working the online menu and finally getting our food order, our coffee came out in paper cups and was also told to at if we wanted more to just grab some from the counter. After finally realizing it's a self service restaurant, our food came out in lunch trays and plastic containers. I told my partner that I feel like I'm in prison being served my food in plastic containers and lunch trays and plastic silverware. I get it, I have been served with these trays before, but the presentation was phenomenal that I even did I wanted these for parties at home. I've seen restaurants do a rebranding, but just saying that the lack of service definitely did not make this new environment very inviting, almost made it seem like it was not an upgrade but a downgrade from a shell of what it was before. Not sure if it's new management or ownership, but I can definitely feel it and it's very obvious. I noticed some people who came who were also confused and after spending over 20mins trying to figure out how to order, asked for a printed menu. After sitting again, they looked at each other and decided to walk away. I'm highly disappointed really and I don't think I'll be back. Omelet was decent and it he chicken fried steak was extremely dry and tasted just like flour even with the gravy.

Vic's is truly a hidden gem located in the quant town of Martinez, just half a mile from the Superior Court. They have both outdoor and indoor seating, and heat lamps/fire pits for cooler temps. The wait was short given we were a party of 12, and we had to wait for our full party to arrive in order to be seated. The waitress was timely and very helpful. She didn't even mind the rambunctious children at our table, lol. All of the dishes arrived super quick, I mean within 15 minutes. Can't wait to return!

Vic's a gem! Family owned restaurant that really knows how to cook! We made a reservation and were seated quickly as they close at 2 different times so make sure to check their hours. This inside is small but family like with benches and chairs with lots of window lighting. When we ordered, they informed us that they were out of certain sodas and menu items. That only informed us that they had many customers earlier. I ordered the fish and chips but subbed for tater tots. It was amazing as you get 3 pieces of fish battered to perfection and the sauces are amazing! My friends ordered different versions of the chicken sandwiches and loved their orders. I wish they were not out of the chicken fried steak as that seemed to be really popular. Other than that, we will definitely be back earlier and order everything on the menu.

    Turkey from the turkey blt
    Whitney K.

I came here with my boyfriend close to a year ago and was impressed with the food, ambiance and service. Yesterday, I took my bf's mom here because I thought it would be just as good but was so disappointed. Embarrassed, even, to say we loved this place earlier. Similar to the other recent reviews, I was surprised to see that the food came in takeout containers, water was self serve, and you order using a QR code. The food quality for lunch has gone significantly downhill. My salad seemed like it was dumped right out of a Taylor Farms salad kit (an old one, at that), and the 'pancetta' was clearly bacon. The turkey in the Turkey BLT also seemed like it was cut right off of a leftover, processed roast turkey (kind of like a thick slice of bologna, see pic). So, so sad and disappointed that this hidden gem of a place has now gone downhill.

Came on a Saturday morning for brunch with the family and our pup. Called ahead and they said they are dog friendly on the patio. Pretty busy but that was standard at noon on a weekend. Didn't have to wait too long. We ordered mimosas with Guava juice, Loco Moco, fries, and the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict with county potatoes. Service was great and the music was 10/10.

    Vini V.

I used to love this place, unfortunately we had a completely different experience this time. Upon arrival the waitress told us that they changed things and she would bring a QR code and we can see the menu and order with that. We ordered but was surprised to see that we had to pay and tip at that time. When the drinks arrived they were in disposable cups, later the food arrived also in to go containers that were just missing a lid and plastic utensils. Besides bringing the food no one came to check on us a single time.

You look at the description and you almost wonder if all of that is a little...too much. I'm here to tell you that it's not. It's the only way. There's just something about the zing and tang of combining both the Lemon Pepper with the Buffalo sauce that takes the flavors to a whole new level. On top of that you get a hint of sweetness with the hot honey. These are some of my favorite wings in town. Possibly actual favorite. I need to come back and have them again really soon. But just know that if you are wings fan, you gotta try P's Way. The Fish and Chips and Mac were also good. The Fish seemed a little less flavorful than I thought it was gonna be. The fries made it up for them though. I couldn't stop munching on those. The Mac was solid. Nothing out of the ordinary, but a just really good dish that was straight to the point. I just obviously was super obsessed with these wings when I went. The inside is very homey. Has a more publike vibe. I walk in and almost imagine that I'm on the water or at a pier or something. The people working here are usually very nice. The very last time I came here a guy took my order and forgot one of our items but I think he was new.
