I picked the wrong day to be in Dunsmuir as all the other restaurants were closed!! But I was happy to find this one open. I ordered the double cheeseburger with fries and a soda. My Mom ordered the fish and chips. The burger was good and fries were not bad. Soda was nice and cold and bubbly. Nothing really to write home about, but at least they were open on Mondays when we needed a late lunch. I would stop here again if I was in Dunsmuir, but only if the other restaurants weren't open.

First, let me apologize for the color of the photos. We were on a road trip with our Princess. Because of that, we ate almost all of our meals outdoors. The Burger Barn has red topped pop-ups, hence the red in the photos. We've been here before and make a point to stop by when we're in the area and need lunch. You get what you order, no more, no less. The prices are more than reasonable for non-fast-food fare. The staff is friendly and service is efficient. We ordered: Hamburger Mushroom Swiss Burger Tater Tots Onion Rings PIneapple Shake Coffee Shake I didn't bother taking photos of the shakes. Everything we had scored a solid 5. Even our dog loved the pieces of hamburger I gave her.

Burger alert, Burger alert, Burger alert. Not too often do we score burger joints high but Burger Barn is where it's at. Located in Dunsmuir, CA, Burger Barn is the classic joint that provides great service with great prices. We stopped by on Monday afternoon and was able to get seating. When entering the w, you're greeted with menus and great customer service answering any questions you may have. We order several burgers with fries and tots. All meals were served hot and perfectly seasoned. We didn't get to try the ice cream desserts but that will be for another day. Great experience and highly recommend any who enjoys a good burger give this place a try.

Burger too big!!! Pulled out a patty!! Awesome!!!!

Awesome!!!!!!! Stumbled on this local burger joint. ***** Onion rings were so yummy crispy just the way I love rings. And a huge bag. ***** Burger had too much meat. If that can happen. ***** Try it and you will love it. *****

I can't get enough of this place Literally so good! And a must place stop when driving through ‼ the best chicken nuggets you'll ever have ! The burger super juicy and delicious (shasta burger with jalapeños is what I got) let's not forget about the ice cream ‼ I got a Blue Goo milkshake but also comes in a cone! It taste like ice cream from when I was a kid ‍

Delicious burgers! The best part of road trips is finding local gems like this along the way. We ordered the Bacon Bleu and the Mushroom Swiss and both were so so good. This is a comfortable, clean place to eat and relax, we'd definitely stop in here again. I thought about taking one star off because, while the man that took our order was polite, he wasn't very friendly... but then I noticed he seemed to be experiencing some back pain on this day, so I want to cut him some slack on the friendliness thing - I hope you feel better soon, sir.

Hands-down five stars. Easy. Decided to come here after reading about the over-priced burgs over at Yaks... SO GLAD we did! Our food was absolutely delicious, and I was so impressed by the fantastic service we got. Not only was the guy who took our order kind and patient, but he came outside when he saw we had our pupper on the patio and brought fresh water AND ICE for the water bowl for her - as it was a blistering hot day! It was a real above-and-beyond move and was so incredibly appreciated!. We got a soft serve cone that we ate first, because Dessert-First is a good way to live amiright? A few short minutes later the server brought out a tray of perfectly cooked and condiment-laden burgers, fries, onion rings, shakes, and sodas. GREAT service, clean patio to eat, delish, WELL-PRICED chow makes this place a home run! You won't be disappointed! Burger Barn FTW!

This was a random stop while on a road trip to Oregon. On the road for hours and needing some nourishment and found this place on my GPS search. It was definitely off the Interstate 5 beaten path and was a really lucky find. It's basically fast, order at the counter establishment. There a few dine in tables, but also had several tables available for outdoor dining. We ordered a quarter pounder with bacon & cheese, a patty melt, fries and a chocolate softie cone. We ordered for dine in and after ordering you are given a placard and the food is delivered to your table. Honestly, this was a really good "picnic-style" burger and my patty melt was tasty too. Just the right amount of onions and cheese and the bread wasn't greasy. I thought the pickles on a toothpick on other outside of the sandwich was a nice touch. The fries though were AMAZING! Lightly salted, crispy, not oily or with any greasy after taste. It had that perfectly crisp sound after biting into it. I'm sensitive to flavor enhancers/MSG and can say there was none, at least in our sandwiches While there was no posted sign about mask requirement, the staff observed COVID-19 protocols and wore masks and the patrons were a mixed bag. Coming from the Bay Area, we weren't sure how we'd be looked upon wearing our masks. Definitely worth the stop if you are anywhere near Dunsmuir.

We discovered this place the last time we were in Dunsmuir and we couldn't wait to return. Second stop, still great burgers.

I knocked off two stars because the posted prices at the restaurant were a dollar or two higher than those listed in their on-line menu, as well as the dry (I assume they're baked and not deep fried) crinkle-cut French fries. These chips?\fries were unsalted (I can handle that), but they seemed like mashed potatoes that hand been formed by machine into crinkle-cut French fry shapes. They were very dry on the inside, and perfectly tasteless. I've never had chips that were so healthy, and thus, unappealing. Deep fry my chips like every other fish and chips restaurant does. If I wanted health food, I'd bake my fries at home in the oven, while listening to Joan Baez screech out a song about something we all need to feel guilty for.

Perhaps many find this infusion of local indigenous plants, along with some root beer and and 2 pounds of butter on their glue meat, a culinary delight, but it rates a big "pass on this one." Only good smell coming out of the kitchen is that of burning inherited money. If you have a couple of hours to burn, go to Jacks Grill on California. Get there at 4:00 PM and you might only have a half hour wait. Fantastic steaks...and their secret Blue Cheese dressing on their salad is really tasty. I know pretty pedestrian review, how do you say "really tasty" in French? And there is a great place in DT Dunsmuir, write down the street from that famous mural. It has all the right in the world to be pretentious, yet they are friendly and not all that impressed with themselves. Just ditch the waders, nice venue, probably would ask you to come back in your base wear.

She was helpful with the menu options and helped me understand the different specials for the day. I ordered the 1-piece fish, fried cheese bread and cup of chowder with a drink for $16.49. And just because I was craving shrimp as well, I also ordered a shrimp cocktail. This ended up being a lot more good than I could eat, and quite honestly, a great deal for the amount of food for under $30 nowadays!! The cocktail sauce is great; it has a little spicy kick but not too much to ruin the shrimp. The clam chowder is awesome. There is a lot of clam pieces, the flavor is really good and it was very filling. The fish cooked perfectly and not overly breaded and not over cooked. I was very impressed.
