Just happened to come here because it has an outdoor patio area that allows dogs and is shaded so it's cooler than the spots downtown. Was craving some trout since we so many at lake McCloud and they had it on their menu. The look of it in the picture isn't that amazing the the lemon puree sauce was amazing and so was the trout. I ordered the Arnold Benedict and was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food that I was served. The Hollandise was clearly boxed and the house potatoes were of some frozen variety and almost tasted freezer burnt. My mother ordered the biscuits and gravy and the gravy was again boxed or out of a can. She ordered a side of toast and im not sure what variety of bread they are using but it was toasted but stale , I asked myself how do you mess up toast? and on top of that cold as the butter wouldnt even melt. The ownership changed in 2017 and has gone downhill and would not recommend to anyone. The quality was less than Dennys but with a premium price tag. Other than the French toast, the food and coffee were average at best. Feels like an old folks home, and did not seem very popular. Additionally it was very expensive. It said the closed at 2:00 and we arrived about 20 til so we were afraid they wouldn't serve us, but the friendly waitress promptly sat us and we enjoyed a delicious lunch! I had the small plate of the pear beet salad which was a generous size and very good too. We both had a cup of the wonderful homemade navy bean soup and split the chicken sandwich which was very tasty. Our server was efficient and friendly. I had the Gin Daisy drink which was very good. Having dined here multiple times throughout the past few years, we've thoroughly enjoyed quite a few items from the breakfast & lunch menu, but we always come back at dinner for the ever so tender Cabernet Braised Beef and Seared Salmon. The Za'Atar Grilled Chicken and Ribeye Steak are also very flavorful choices. There are ample choices on the drink menu. Today our server Olivia created what was probably the best, smoothest, smokey, Old Fashioned I've ever had. The staff is always kind and attentive to our needs, items come out in a timely manner, and the venue has such a relaxing atmosphere. Occasionally you get treated with music from local performers. Normally I would have to enhance potatoes with ketchup, but they were seasoned well and didn't require any improvement. Only disappointment was the eggs were a little over poached. This is a really cute little restaurant with wonderful food, wonderful service and wonderful ambience. My favorite is to sit out on the front patio. On this trip we had dinner and breakfast the next day! All the entrées for dinner are terrific. We had big salads this time. My husband had the Greek and I had the Caesar. Crispy and deliciously dressed. For breakfast the next day I had eggs Benedict, which was divine. Perfectly poached eggs with perfectly seasoned hollandaise.
