What a yummy place to dine especially after all day hiking and fishing. Although we didn't order any appetizers, their entrees were great. I especially loved their Tuscan salmon. They also have a good selection of wine, beer and cocktails. The overall service was an A+ as well. Sage was a fantastic server. We will come back on our next visit. read more

Ski lodge food, its edible and tastes ok when you are hungry but no way worth the price, I could of gotten everything pre packaged at the store and it would have been better. Even just a steak on the BBQ and a packaged salad at home would of been 10 times better and 1/2 the price. I dont mind paying top dollar but give me something good! read more

We had a quick breakfast here on our way out of the hotel. Food was typical diner. Kids meals were huge. The avocado toast was great. Best of all was the service. I was here 5 years ago and remember the fettuccine Alfredo was so good. I realize cooks come and go. This time it tasted left over. Usually the sauce is on top. This was mixed together and no creamy goodness. My guys and ordered the Rib eye salad. Not even sure if it was ribeye. It was fatty and tough. In a salad they should have trimmed the fat off. It didn't taste fresh either. I tried it. On the other hand our lunch earlier was great. We had fish and chips. The cod was cooked perfect. The wait staff this evening was okay. Yesterday was very friendly. We didn't complain , but I guarantee we will never eat or stay here again. read more

This restaurant is located inside the Best Western Hotel. The appetizer was delicious- cheese curds! Yummmm! The pulled pork sandwich on the other hand was not great! It was way too sweet. I removed the sweet slaw from it, but the pork was still too sweet! Not what I was expecting. The waitress was nice and attentive. The food arrived quickly. I told the waitress I didn't need a to go box when she asked, because I didn't care for the food, she said she wished I had told her sooner. The bill remained the same; so restaurants take the item off or at least give a discount, not here. But hey, If you like sweet pulled pork, go here. read more

Middle of the road diner food. Honestly I'd rather have gone to Black Bear Diner We had breakfast here the first morning for convenience sake. Hash browns were crispy . Coffee was absolutely horrible. Server was rude and impatient with children. Tables were dirty. What else is dirty I wonder? Coffee was absolutely horrible. The second morning we rolled in and they weren't even open because none of the wait staff showed up for work. Weird. Go to the Original Black Bear Diner in town. It's nostalgic and clean. read more

Beware, Coopers bar has sports on several TV's but not allowed to have any audio. We were able to get a bartender to turn up some volume to hear our team playing on Monday night football for 3 quarters and some person dressed like she just got out of the gym said per their contract they can't have any Tv audio and muted the broadcast. Not friendly, too bad! The food and drinks were good and servers were friendly. Will reconsider staying here again. Not sure why they even have TVs I guess. read more

Was staying at the Tree House and received a discount for breakfast. I ordered to go so we could eat it in our room. They have a nice dining room, and I'm sure we could've ate on the patio with Cako, but I didn't feel like being around people...LOL! Ordered one regular breakfast with scrambled eggs and bacon. The bacon was nice and crisp! Some places leave a little of the fat on it and that doesn't taste so good. I had the eggs benedict and the hollandaise was delicious! I opted for fresh fruit; pineapple and blueberries. Everything was great! I do recommend just taking up to your room, especially if you have a great view! read more

This was an epically bad dining experience. Sitting in the patio with a few other people, we ordered some drinks to get started. After a bit of a wait, we finally got them, and they were fine. Our waiter took our order, for two French dip sandwiches, salads and some fries and then the wait began. The fries came out first after a while, and then we waited and waited and waited. The evening wore on, and the temperature started to drop. Our waiter lit the outdoor heater, and apologized for the wait. He said the sandwiches were coming right up, and then we waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, after about two hours total he brought one sandwich, and said they would comp the other sandwich, and then we waited, and waited, and finally gave up without the other sandwich. We were just too cold. If you are in Paris, two or three hours is probably worth the wait. In Mount Shasta, I am sure you can do better elsewhere. read more

They've closed the restaurant, which is a beautiful room, and used to be good food and great service. Not this last time! They didn't answer the phone all day at either the restaurant nor the front desk, despite the busy summer and full house that week. We went to have dinner and they refused to seat us in the restaurant, with 5 kids and 6 adults, ready to eat a special dinner. It was the worst meal I've ever had in Mt. Shasta in over 30 years! A tiny dried up piece of salmon 'jerky' as it was so tough it couldn't be cut. Food was cold despite the labors of the waitress. The kid's Mac n cheese was a puddle of yellow soup with a few noodles the kids didn't eat. The meal was over $300 and felt I had to tip for they're trying so hard, but will not go again until I hear it's somehow better. I couldn't even get the name and number of the new owners, and the link I finally got from the front desk hasn't worked to make contact. Some Los Angeles company owning a place at the other end of the state, and obviously not paying any attention. Food poor, service labored, hard to be heard there, used to be good ambiance, now tense and unpleasant. so what if there is a Tesla charger nearby, there are also better places to eat in this town! read more

We've always loved our annual stay here, but regretted the food. Then, a couple of weeks ago, that changed. Enjoying a glass of wine before going out to dine elsewhere, we overheard a young lady describing the "rosemary/garlic balsamic reduction" she was preparing to serve as the night's special. Intrigued, we stayed in, and had an excellent dinner. O thank heavens, they got a chef! We look forward to returning. read more

Blackberry french toast was fantastic. Hash browns were extra crispy just as requested. Service was very attentive. You can sit on the patio with a view of Shasta or if you are a car enthusiast you can look at those partaking in the Tesla charging stations. The coffee is decent, but we are coffee snobs i.e. Philz in our veins so not exciting. Landscaping is also nice. Some comfortable couches are on the patio. read more

I'm spending a few nights here at Mt. Shasta, so after a long drive, about 6-1/2 hrs, some food was called for, the restaurant was closed but the bar was open and I had a 15 minute window to order. I picked a nice beer and some tacos, quick but it did the job, next time I'll try something different. read more

Service was great! Lydia did an amazing job! The prime rib had zero fat and amazing flavor ( we are thrifty in life, however vacations and food... we enjoy and spare no expense. We have been coming here for years on our way to Lake Tahoe and the food has always been ok. We were seriously impressed after many small trips through small towns and lack of quality in service and food (understandably with Covid). Not a food snob, but this was awful. Five of us at breakfast and three of us ate. I got the biscuits and gravy and it was terrible. The biscuits were hard and dry. My buddy got the eggs Benedict and it tasted like a soup of mushroom was poured on top. We got two bloody Mary's and it tasted like someone poured a can of expired tomato soup was poured in a can and topped with pepper. Service was awful and the waitress was very pushy. Over all it was awful and I will never be eating breakfast here again! read more

The new owners have made the food worse. The Caesar salad was gloppy with dressing, the veggies that came with the dinner entree were overcooked and swimming in oil, the Cobb salad was served with decent mixed greens but none were crunchy and overall it wasn't right. The chicken Marsala was over-salted. The chairs look nice, but are very uncomfortable (hard frames with pits in the middle), but that's been true for years. The room is spacious, with high ceiling and lots of wood, good windows, good light--very nice. The service was very good--not super fast, but acceptable, and the server was professional, attentive and very nice. I hope they improve the food, because Mt Shasta City really needs this to be a reliable, high quality restaurant. (We were there for dinner June 2, 2021.) read more

Went here for a mediocre meal. Waitress was great. Manager was not using proper social distancing with the customers. The waitress called him on it and he ignored her and seated his friends. Second night I called in a take out order and was told I would receive a call back when ready. We waited an hour and went to Burger King across the st. No call ever came. Although the restaurant had only a few customers, we were asked to wait for a table, and we sat outside. As we had been forgotten, we approached the hostess stand 15 minutes later and were seated. The waitress seemed much put-upon and took 10 minutes more to simply bring waters, and knocked a plate while plopping them down with a frown and walking away yet again. When we finally managed to order a drink, she again seemed much troubled. I eventually walked to the bar and discovered the bartender chatting while a scroll of tickets from the restaurant sat unaddressed behind him. He finally made my drink - filling it so full of vodka (maybe to make up for the service) that I couldn't even finish it. My burger was good - but after a 10-mile hike I could've gnawed a table leg. Waiting for an hour for it was unacceptable. I guess as Tree House is attached to the hotel it has a captive audience, but with the numerous service miscues I recommend fleeing the property for a good Mount Shasta dining experience. read more

Definitely disappointed and would not recommend any of the beef. I ordered medium rare prime rib and they served me a well done pot roast. It wasn't even the right cut of meat to be a prime rib. My husband ordered a rib eye steak medium rare and they served him a well done very thin price of meat of some sort. Vegetables were tasty and well as the baked potato, mashed potato, and dinner salad. Shrimp cocktail sauce was good, had a good bite to it and decent sized shrimp were served. CAME JADED, LEFT HAPPY! Always weary of a place that's connected to where you're staying, but the Tree House restaurant isn't bad, in fact we were pleasently surprised. The 10% coupon wasn't the main incentive but given the options within walking distance (sandwich shop, pizza, and a chain restaurant that I only gave 2 stars) this seemed like a nice alternative. Seated outside, our server Thomas was professional and attentive, but not hovering. He took our order, brought out our water and wine quickly. Not knowing the restaurant and the fact that it was fairly busy, we ordered safe items: hamberger and chicken burger. Food came out within 8 minutes. The burger must have been a half pound with lots of lettuce, tomato and red onion. The chicken burger had bacon and cheese along with the above garnish. I thought that this would be another standard burger experience but were wrong. The burger was actually very good, cooked to order. The chicken was also grilled and very moist. Had the sweet potato fries and cole slaw. Since staying at the Best Western, we had the breakfast buffet the following morning. This was a full service breakfast with lots of everything. The variety was plentiful and the coffee was actually good. The wait staff was attentive and made sure you were taken care of. Overall the experience, food, ambiance and service was fine. Given the other options around, this place is a hit. And yes, we did use the 10% coupon for dinner while staying at the Best Western. read more

I happened to walk in here by accident. Located inside the hotel I actually meant to go to the bar and grill it seems the waitresses are familiar with these accidental walk ins. The Service piece was polite. I was so embarrassed so we decided to stay. I must say it was a fancy shmancy spot for lunch. The prices were pretty average- the highest priced item was rib eye steak for $27 but I was in the mood for a burger which only happened to be $12. Ordered the half ounce burger with shrooms/ cheddar/grilled onions. Can I just say YUM! Great portion size. Super tasty char broiled burger. French fries were perfectly crisp. Not too thick, more so in the slimmer side so it gave a great crunch, I was more then satisfied with my accidental walk in. read more

Started with teriyaki skewers served with Hawaiian style sticky rice - so yummy. I had a tasty margarita - tart and tangy as it should be; not sickly sweet as so many are today. Hubby had the clams in garlic butter. Nice chunks of garlic. He imbibed a nice dark beer with this course. We split a remarkable salad: large grilled chicken strips on top of mixed greens with mandarins, dried cranberries, crumbled feta, grape tomatoes. My husband had the prime rib and found the sautéed onions and mushrooms the perfect addition. Generous serving of mashed potatoes and gravy. Fresh steamed vegetables. I paired a sauvignon blanc with chicken marsala. Delightful. We took half of our dinners back to the room so we could try the desserts. Tiramisu was light and cheesecake that melted in your mouth.
