Edit review 9/13/2020 1 photo Excellent tasting Saturday. So glad they were able to reopen even if quite limited by Covid rules. The wine was superb. Took home a few bottles, among which was the truly outstanding 2015 Petite Sirah Gold Stripe. I would put this against any Petite Sirah anywhere; it is that good. Faith was managing the tasting room and she was very top rate and knowledgeable. Of course we are club members at Mosley, and we try and get to Mosley events and tastings when new wines are being introduced or when the stars are in alignment and we could use some good old fashioned friendly service, great wine and good company. Mosley Family Cellars offers it all.

As a wine club member at Moseley, there are a lot of good things I can say. But I will start with the most important thing - how is the wine? It's great! Seriously, it's really good. I don't care for sweet wines - they have an excellent dessert wine but you will be hard pressed to find a sweet. Despite being on the drier side, these wines are balanced. So well balanced, these wines are award wining. I recommend the Everyday Rose - Cabernet Sauvignon. It's an easy drinking crowd pleaser - maybe a little to easy to drink haha COVID-19 Adjustments: They have done an amazing job adapting to the COVID-19 challenges. They list all the steps they are taking online, if you are interested. They have also introduced Friday night Picnic on the Lawn - social distancing, safe, and fun with live music. Buy wine by the glass or bottle and enjoy your Friday night out of the house. Bring the makings of a charcuterie board and you'll forget there is even a pandemic.

My group YPN of Shasta Association of Realtors recently put on an amazing event at Moseley's Cellars!!! All I can say is WOW what an amazing atmosphere and setting for the 120 that attended! Mimi is such a great hostess and she was great with the guests!! I would hands down do more events here!! And the wine is amazing ;)

We were 18 women and Mimi was nice enough to let us enjoy the beautiful Barrel room for our tasting...wine was flowing and the ambience was just lovely...we couldn't have picked a better place. Ask the Community - Moseley Family Cellars

It states not good for kids... so, not good for kids to be there?

Hey there! Children are welcome, but it can be boring for them to wait while adults sample wine. It's a great family atmosphere, and as long as kids aren't near the bar we are fine. They can play outside if parents are ok with that...

The tasting went very well, and the food from Jess was outstanding and paired beautifully with the wines. The space is incredibly cozy-one of those places you not only want to come back to, but also want to bring friends to. Highly recommended.

My wife wanted to check the place out, so I tagged along to be a good husband with very low expectations. I fully assumed I'd sip politely, nod, and confirm (once again) that wine just wasn't my thing. Turns out, I was very wrong. Not only is the wine here excellent, legitimately impressive, but the winery itself has a fascinating history. The vineyards are tended by Trappist monks, and the grapes are grown with decades, even centuries, of careful tradition. You can taste the dedication in every sip. I've discovered I absolutely have favorites now, but more importantly, I haven't had a single wine here there that I didn't like. Somewhere along the way, we became wine club members, and now we find ourselves here far more often than we probably should. If you think you don't like wine, this might be the place that changes your mind plus, you can get a little history lesson about the vineyard / winery if you just ask.

I ended up buying some reds, whites, and the Angelica for gifts as well as tee shirts because of my incandescent time as a retreatant, but I must also encourage you to go at a time when the gift shop is open because the jams, honey, and walnuts they sell there are DELICIOUS. You'll have to walk out of the tasting room and up the walkway alongside the vines to the gift shop during their hours of operation, which seem to vary, but are customarily 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. They don't offer tastings of the walnuts, jams, or honey. When I got home and tried them, I wish they had since they are absolutely scrumptious and I would've bought more. I really wanted to buy raw walnuts because I had walked alongside the walnut trees during my retreat. However, they only sold the candied walnuts in the gift store. The candied walnuts are grown and made by the monks of New Clairvaux and the ingredients are: roasted walnuts, sugar, eggs, vanilla, salt, cardamom, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. I gave some to my friends in Berkeley who said they were "delicious and slightly addictive." I agree! The cayenne pepper is subtle, but the mix of the cardamom and cayenne is perfection. If I tried them in the gift shop, I would've bought every one they had on their shelves. The creamed honeys for sale are prepared by the Cistercian Nuns of the Redwoods Monastery. When I saw "almond," because I'd never seen honey from almond blossoms, I bought a few. I should've bought some of the other flavors. I didn't realize until I opened them that they had crushed almonds and orgeat or almond syrup in them! I love orgeat in cocktails, steamed milk, in pretty much anything so this creamed honey is absolutely divine. Again, if I'd known, I would've bought every single jar of it. So, as you'd expect at the Abbey, because they don't have tastings at the gift store, you'll have to purchase the food items on faith. I recommend you do.
