After reading all these glowing reviews, I sent my son to get an oil change and have the front brakes replaced at this place. No problem with the brakes but can you believe the mechanic didn't put the cap back on after the oil change? This caused the oil to spill out while driving and smoke billowing out. The car stalled out leaving my son stranded. Turns out there was a problem with the distributor and an oil leak but this mechanic refused to help find or even offer to fix the problem. Finally moved the car over to another shop (Florin's) in Burbank where the problem was detected and fixed. Poor customer service. I will NEVER go back to this place. read more

Burbank auto tech is a great establishment! I was referred to them by a friend. Its hard to find good honest mechanics in Los Angeles but this was not the issue here. Onik the owner was helpful and took care of me literally when i pulled up. The prices were terrific. The service was fast. Overall i enjoyed the experience. 5 stars for this guy. I went here for an oil change he said it'll be ready in about 20 minutes. It was ready in exactly 20 minutes. The owner (I'm assuming) was very helpful and polite. He had a ton of photos of him racing motorcycles on the walls, I asked him all about them and he shared numerous stories with me about his experiences. This place is awesome! I came here after being COMPLETELY taken advantage of at Valvoline, where I was charged $80 for a cabin filter!! Being a 26-year-old female, I know nothing about cars.... I needed a new serpentine belt for my car last week, and I decided to research how much it would cost. NAPA auto parts said a new belt was about $40, but I would have to install it myself- that was not going to happen-so, I did some more research on Yelp and came across this wonderful auto repair shop... I stumbled upon this place completely on accident when trying to take my car to the body/repair shop where I had previously had work done. I made a phone appointment, but when I arrived there to drop off the car, I was shocked to be told they were now solely a body shop, and had sold the repair shop and phone number to a new owner/location! After a quick phone call was made to get the new address, I was introduced to Onik, who has taken good care of my Mazda Protege for about 3 years now! So far I've had all four struts replaced, a new clutch, timing belt and brakes done.. all at reasonable prices and completed when promised! After reading all the Yelp review i went to this place and got super cheated.The mechanic was so rude and wouldn't even help me understand the problem of my car and just quotes the price saying breaks and rotars needs to be changed.I check with the other mechanics and said there no need of the rotars and just resurfacing it would do where in here i was asked for $120 more or the mechanic said he would guarantee anything . I started going to this location after reading some yelp reviews, and I have to agree with everyone else: they are fair, efficient, and honest. Last time I went to get my car's oil changed, I said that I may need my brakes replaced because they were making funny sounds. Onik let me know that no, they didn't need to be replaced just yet - but at my next oil change, I should bring it in and have them replaced then. The fact that he told me NO about an extra $300 he could have received amazed me. Quite simply the best. The fact that they are located right near where I work means that I will only be going to Burbank Auto Tech for all my car needs. Also, I can never find store hours for them - but I've dropped off my car at 7:30 on weekdays, which seems to be generally when they open. Hope this is helpful!! read more

I am so glad I got onto Yelp before selecting a shop. I got a few over the phone estimates for a radiator & thermostat. They were all within $50 of each other. When I called Burbank Auto Tech, the man was very nice over the phone and really straightforward. In addition, he said that I could leave my car that night and drop the key (w/ my details) through the slot and pick up my car the next day. I called mid afternoon the following day and my car was ready with the total cost being LESS than my estimate. As I am an "underemployed" artist (aka broke), this was a blessing to me. I ordered a rear tire online for my Suzuki V-strom and had it shipped to the shop. Onik called upon delivery and we set up an appointment for this morning at 8am. I came to this shop to replace my timing belt/water pump. At first Onik, the owner was very nice. I took him two days to complete the work but he offered me a good price so it did not bother me. But when I got back my car, I realized that the engine made the entire car shaking. I then decided to return the car and let them fix them. At first they told me that it was the engine mounts. They kept the car several day and then call me to tell me it was ready... I came to pick it up... The problem was not solved. I decided to open the hood to see if anything was wrong, and discovered that my timing belt cover was missing along with the part that covers my engine. I decided to go back, and this time onik was not as nice. As soon as I told him that i would like my parts back, he knew what part I was talking about and found it directly? I'm assuming that he knew that this covers were part of my car, but i guess didn't bother calling to tell me that they made a mistake and forgot to replace them. They put them back and I drove away. Anyway I drove my car several days thinking that the vibrations might disappear... Bad luck it became worse. Then I went Back to the store telling Onik, that this time I wanted my problem to be fixed. He assured me that the job would be done by the end of the day... I waited... Waited... Waited and finally 3 days later called me to tell me that the car was ready and that I could come and pick it up... with 600 bucks.. Yes 600 bucks to change my timing belt tensioner. I then told him that I was did not agree on any labor to be made on my car and that I was not going to pay an extra 600 dollars on the top of the 500 i initially paid to replace the belt. He told me ( F. You ) that he would then take the part from the car which I was totally fine with. When I went to get my car back, he started yelling at me, telling me that it had cost him money... To conclude I do NOT recommend this Mechanic, save your time and your energy. Spend some extra dollars and go somewhere where the work will be done properly.... read more

After reading the glowing reviews on Yelp I went to see Onik about my issue. Everything I read was true. He told me that my problem wasn't a big deal however he didn't have the machine to determine which hose was impacting the Service Engine light. I passed the emissions part of the Smog Check when I went to Pep Boys however because the Check Engine light was on it didn't pass completely. Onik offered to turn off the light (no charge) and told me to drive around for 50 miles and when I return he would see if it would pass the Smog Check. This guy is the real deal, fast and honest. I had a hard time driving 50 miles today so I will return tomorrow to see if my car passes. I have a 7 year old BMW and need some minor work done on it and I am thrilled to find an honest mechanic within walking distance of my home. read more
