Aggressive sales rep from BULWARK PEST call the Co. at 704-321-3700 and ask to speak with a supervisor! Had an unfortunate incident with a very aggressive bug service guy yesterday in Marvin Estates. After listening to his speech and telling him that we are not interested he kept at it and wouldn't stop. He named all of my surrounding neighbors who have signed up with him and kept insisting I should switch. He also wasn't wearing a mask and I told him that I felt uncomfortable with how close he kept getting and that I am 3x high risk but he didn't move so I had to keep backed by away! I told him I was headed out to a meeting and he didn't care. He got aggressive and I told him if he didn't leave, I would call the cops. He kept at it! Bulwark has the great guarantee that they will come out and spray if you ever see bugs. That guarantee was pretty ineffective, and they managed a few very quick, haphazard interior sprayings when I kept seeing spiders (and other bugs) inside my home. I always thought it was weird they never sprayed in the garage or attic. I kept getting bugs inside my house! Super frustrating when I kept paying over $35 per month (I think it was $75 every two months), and I kept seeing small spiders, little gnats, and the occasional small cockroach. I got rid of Bulwark (that has an annoying cancellation process that requires some "manager" to keep calling you during dinner time), and started using an inside insecticide and outdoor mosquito and bug spray. During that time, I've spent, at most $10 per month on insecticide, and an average of 15 minutes per month spraying. I've seen nearly zero bugs indoors, and thanks to the outdoor bug sprayer, I get the added plus of no mosquitoes or other flying bugs. I'd highly recommend spending a few minutes during the weekend to spray. It is cheaper and far more effective. read more

But when I look at my cameras they left the door tag and never did anything. We have more bugs now than before we started using Bulwark. They got rid of the ant problem we had temporarily but have not resolved any other issues and the ants are back. They NEVER apologize. They just send someone else out. The people they send typically don't "read the notes" and I've spent many days leaving work early to go home and wait on them to never show up. They schedule a window and show up whenever they want. We've been paying $80 a month for almost a year and our problem is no more resolved now than it was before them. They bring in a tiny aerosol can and spray the baseboards with what I believe is air at this point. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. read more

I wasn't too pleased with their service. They had to come out twice because I was still finding bugs and spiders in my home. It's a brand new home so it wasn't like there was already bugs in the walls or anything. I had spider webs everywhere, the small annoying ants were all over my front door area. I killed a huge spider in my bathroom and decided to switch pest control companies. They had told me it would take 4-5 times for them to come out to create a barrier......ummmm but why??!! I have had pest control at other places before we moved and it worked after the first application so idk what the heck. I've learned after living in Charlotte now through most of a summer, that there are an exorbitant number of spiders here. I'm not a complete hater just realistically concerned they will drop on my head and lay an egg sac in my hair. So I called my regular service since the eves all around the house are coated in webs. The technician came out and met with the man, and informed him that "they were not allowed to spray above 3 feet". Um, okay so let's just pretend I live in a faux craftsman mcBungalow in Dillworth...is my 2nd story just coated in spiders cause there is some law that forbids spraying chemicals above the height of where a small boy can pee? The best part is there is a contract involved with these folks, so I'll be not getting what we really need from them for 4 more months, yay! read more

I followed up with Bulwark via email several times after the initial visit with some questions about touch up treatments, but never heard back. I eventually let them know I was cancelling my recurring service because of how disappointed I was with their lack of a response. I received a voicemail a couple weeks later asking me to call them back (and an excuse about how my emails "just showed up now"), but at this point, I'd rather find someone else whose customer service level is more dependable. I called them almost in tears because we had just closed on a house that had a bug problem we didn't know about. I just had my second service about a week ago. We live in an older home in Plaza Midwood so with the older homes and crawlspaces, not to mention construction on either side of us stirring up bugs, we need techs to come spray! I found some of the little brown roaches (German), American roaches as well as our little black ants and gnat issues. Ever since the first visit from a Bulwark Tech, I have not seen another German roach since and those are the buggers that require longer and more extensive spraying. They can show up in a box of something you order in even! Yuck. They are hard to get rid of so I tacked on that service to the regular 'every other month' service and pay just over $70 every 60 days for them to get rid of all our bug issues. The only complaint, and it's not really me complaining, is that I did call them about 2-3 weeks after the first spray to re-touch because we still had little black ants out on our deck and furniture outside. They sprayed for free and gave me ant trap things too. If you need a touchup, they will guarantee a tech out from 24-48 hrs after you call them. That seemed to do the trick. If you do have German roaches, it could take 6-7 treatments every 60 days to fully get rid of them. They can live in your walls for a long time, apparently. Anyway, no issues so far for me and no roaches in my house either! Each tech has been super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly and the last one to visit, Mark, was extra great by providing me with a few extra ant trap/baits to get those suckers out on my deck. read more

They showed up two hours late and then walked around my townhouse with a small spray can for less than 5 minutes. He said it was too wet to do outside and would come back. I told him to leave business card when he did . No evidence he came back and no improvement in bug problem...paid with groupon and now keep getting bills . We scheduled an in home visit for when we returned; but they showed up while we were still out of town.
