Horrible establishment. Do not ship wine from here. Our $400 case of wine was never shipped or received. No reimbursement, no help from anyone. Reported them to better business bureau. Thieves work there. Beware of this company!!! read more

I completely forgot that you cannot take wine onto a plane as carryon, and after only packing a large duffel bag and a garment bag for our trip to S.F. and Napa, I was kicking myself... How am I going to get our wine home?!? Thank goodness for Buffalo's Shipping Post. They're off the 29 south near the Outlets (as you're driving from Napa toward the East Bay they are on the right side off the 29). They pack and ship your wines for you with no fuss. They make it so easy, you wonder why you ever bothered playing luggage roulette by packing them yourself in the first place. Rates are reasonable and the timing was perfect. I shipped our wine on Sunday and was enjoying it by Tuesday! Note, adult signatures are required at time of delivery. read more

I went in special to get a Christmas gift packed and shipped. I brought in the items on Friday and paid $47 for their services. They told me it would go out Saturday afternoon. On the next Monday the items were neither packed NOR shipped. read more

I dropped a wine shipment off at a Thursday as asked if they could hold the shipment until monday so the wine did not get stuck in a truck over the weekend. I also asked that tracking be sent to me and the recipient. I never got the tracking and when I called to see if it had been shipped they told me it had been shipped on a Friday and delivered on Wednesday, so I know it sat in a warehouse or truck somewhere over the weekend. This is not the first time I had used them and it seems like something like this happens every time. read more

Perhaps they've developed a "we're the only game in town" mentality, but twice now I have been met with the same experience. They seem to decide for you how it will be packed and start packing your things before you even receive a quote. They essentially don't give you info, but rather do everything and just give you a total and if you question things they're rude and respond with a, "you can go down the street," response. As someone who works at a winery and recommends this place to people as they head down to fly out of the city, I think I'll reconsider sending them this business now. The front-of-house people have a back-of-house attitude and that's unworthy of anymore of my business. read more

I took 43 bottles of wine to Buffalo Shipping on Dec 23 2013 with 43 individual shipments, and 42 in California. I am only aware of 2 deliveries and repeated requests to Buffalo Shipping have resulted in zilch. No Tracking Numbers and no proof of delivery to the individual recipients. This is a disgrace as these shipments were gifts to clients, and Buffalo does not answer the phone, respond to emails and it seems they are in the stone age with the inability to accept an Excel spreadsheet. I shipped a lot of wine through Buffalo over the past 5 years, and will never use them or recommend them to any visitor. If there was a negative rating I would award a - 5 stars. Note there are 8 1 star reviews all around Christmas 2013. Doesn't that seem strange 8 customers all have similar experience with missing wine. Where is the wine? read more

We have used Buffalo's Shipping Post on every trip we ever took to Napa with no issues. This most recent trip I was a little concerned about the many negative reviews on Yelp. After much discussion with my husband, we decided to use Buffalo's again to ship our wine. We were helped by an older gentleman who was very patient with my fears. We elected to used fedex and to have the wine shipped to my husband's office to insure someone would be there to sign for the shipment. The next day we received an email with the tracking number and the following day we received our wine. All was intact and in good condition. Overall it was a good experience and our next trip we will probably keep using Buffalo's. No complaints with the service or the outcome! read more

We chose to ship our wine with Buffalo Shipping because we had used them in the past with great results. My husband happened to be in Napa Valley last week and purchased 10 bottles of wine. He was told that the wine was being shipped on Monday. He paid for 2 day shipping. We are still waiting for the wine. Yesterday he called Buffalo Shipping and was told it was shipped on Tuesday, but the girl on the phone never asked his name or when he dropped off the wine! When he told her that on the receipt it said it was to be shipped on Monday, she said in a snippy tone, "Ok, it shipped Monday then." She still did nor ask his name or give him a tracking number. If the wine isn't delivered by 11am, it is going to sit in storage for 5 days! Not good for wine. This is why my husband paid extra for 2 day shipping. read more

Fail... lost a great customer due to improper handling, terrible customer service, rude follow-up and no delivery. Stay clear - don't know how they have been in business for 24 years with such an attitude! read more

Had a great experience shipping wine. Very organized and all materials are displayed and labeled with price

I have been using Buffalo for years to ship wines and I have put up with their lack of customer service and outright rudeness because the location is convenient and they offer decent shipping rates. I just got off the phone with them (after it rang 30 times) and they refused to track a package that they promised me earlier in the day would be delivered before 5pm eastern time in Florida. Unbelievable disregard for the customer. Go somewhere else that will give you tracking info. read more

Not much to say, expect horrible service overall. Horribly rude and unorganized. Even ruder when you need help! This is my 2nd and final visit to Buffalo, and my last. We will encourage our wine country friends and business owners to just use Fed-ex. read more

I didn't ship from here, but this is definitely the place to go for wine shipping boxes: 1 bottle boxes, 2 bottle boxes, 4 bottle boxes, half cases, full cases. They've got the nice ones that are essentially styrofoam coolers that encapsulate each bottle. I was in and out with 2 full case boxes in 3 minutes. read more

First, I want to start off by saying when I shipped the items the staff was friendly, uninformative, but friendly. This was the first time I shipped wine and was not informed of all of the rules. Due to shipping rules, FedEx requires a signature and will not let you pick it up from a Hub. So, if you are shipping make sure you take off work and are there for a signature. No fault of Buffalo Shipping. My issue is there customer service. When I called Buffalo Shipping to understand the issue the woman was EXTREMELY rude and notified me of the 14 signs in the area about if there is an address change there is a $20 charge. I had to change the address to a FedEx hub so I can pick it up at my convenience. I explained to her I had no problem paying the fee but thought this would be something that should be informed to new clients shipping wine. After giving her my credit card number, I wanted to confirm that I would get a receipt but unfortunately she just hung up on me. I'm very disappointed in their service. Their 14 signs need to be improved or maybe they need some customer service training. Either way, find another shipping company with better service. I really wish I reviewed the reviews prior to using this company. 1st the posts actually provide more information than the actual store. 2nd I would have went to another shipping company with better customer service. read more

Extremely helpful and friendly. Always willing to help with a smile. Excellent service!

Literally have never had a worse customer service experience. Shipping went relatively smoothly and fine day-of but when I called later about changing my order (per instructions from FedEx), I was literally yelled at and hung up on. It remains to be seen if I actually ever get my wine. read more

These guys are my default go-to for shipping my wine babies. I like that they have the option to download the forms so you can prefill the box inventory and save a lot of time at the store. The box cost includes foam inserts which was recommended by the gentleman who helped me process my boxes. I was assured I'd get my tracking number by end of afternoon and sure enough it was emailed as promised. Pricing was transparent and service met my expectation. read more

This company is wonderful. Ernie who is one of the nicest guys ever, is always up front and he knows exactly what to do:which shipping method is fastest, cheapest, most efficient, etc. I'm an around the corner neighbor and always forgot I could drop packages there...now, I'm there a few days a week to ship, drop packages, and just say hi. read more

I would stay far, far away. After never providing a shipping confirmation email, we were told it was delivered and signed for by someone else in our apartment building. But, they have refused to give us the original tracking number, so we will never know what happened. And when we asked for this number several times, we were given a severe attitude to where we just stopped asking. I investigated and couldn't find anything that confirmed that. After calling serval times (even thought I was told they would call me), they apparently went and repurchased our wines and shipped it to us. What will happen to the original wines we bought on our honeymoon? We will never know and we weren't refunded for receiving our wines several weeks late. We wouldn't be using this company on our return trip. read more

If you visit Napa, you need to know about them. We shipped 5 cases of wine home for only $200! Ernie was a huge help in getting it done. Just one thing, pick up the forms before you go, they take a while to fill out. read more

I have been using Buffalo's in spite of the rude customer service because they offered free wine shipping boxes when you shipped through. Yesterday I went to ship a case from Napa to San Diego and the price had risen from $30 to almost $46!!!! They are now charging $14.50 for their shipping boxes which is on the expensive side and definitely NOT worth putting up with substandard service and bunch of attitude. Go to Cartons and Crates on Industrial Way. Friendlier service and the shipping boxes (they also have pulp shippers if you want to avoid styrofoam) are cheaper. read more

Decided to check our wine rather than ship and this place had the best deal on wine shippers - even cheaper than Amazon. Grabbed four 12 bottle shippers and packing tape for $65 ($14.50 each box). In and out quick as lightning and the salesperson gave us a nice big roll of fragile stickers to boot. Happy. read more

First time writing a negative Yelp review, so I'm sure that says something about how significant the experience was.. Extremely unfortunate and disappointing customer service overall. The man in the store was lovely, and let us know that if we were not home to sign for our package of wine (which we knew we would never be on a week day) that we would be able to simply pick it up at a FedEx location (which legally, and understandably, a person over 21 has to be available).. When attempted to set that up, but FedEx informed us that Buffalo Shipping Post had placed a restriction on their package/delivery, and that we would have to reach out to them so that they could request a change in their "restriction". We called Buffalo shipping and spoke to the most unfortunate and rude woman, who raised her voice (never experienced that on this end of customer service), and who stated that we are responsible for an additional $20 fee to "change the address from our home address to the FedEx location"... She refused to make any changes despite their nondescript advertising of their "change of address" policy (no one communicated that to us at check-out when we specifically asked about a FedEx pick-up), and frankly she refused to communicate appropriately ... I would recommend just going with FedEx to begin with, as the cost in the end is about the same, they are easier to deal with, and they were only helpful and accommodating and delivered actual customer service. Again, my first negative review but I have never been spoken to so poorly and I would hate for anyone else to experience that as well considering the numerous other options in Napa for shipping. read more

I've used this place for years, and they've always come through for us. We've been to Napa almost every year for the last 10 years, and I've used Buffalo's Shipping Post for most of those 10 years. If you're buying a few bottles here or there from different wineries, it generally makes more sense to consolidate your purchases and just ship it once. There's less to keep track of and it should generally be cheaper. There is some paperwork to fill out (which of course is important for documentation purposes), so just be sure to allow time for this. In other words, don't save this for the last minute as you're rushing to get on a flight back home! Another note, be sure you know the values of the wines you're shipping home as you'll need to document this for insurance purposes. Friendly, efficient service and always a pleasure to do business with. Highly recommended! read more

I can't speak highly enough of Buffalo's Shipping Post -- I would definitely use their services again. I needed to get a Domaine Chandon order to a corporate event (...the next day, nonetheless) and they managed this feat, even though the day I called happened to be outside of the days they normally visit that particular winery. They picked up my order at Chandon (in Yountville) within the hour, overnighted it to me, and it arrived in San Francisco by noon the next day. *That* is six-star service from an excellent group of people. Thank you for coming through for me! read more

I am at Buffalos Shipping Post several times a week shipping for my job. They are always there to get my packages out that day and even hold up the FedEx driver if he is there and I am on my way. Such great customer service and friendly employees. With my back issues I never have to ask for help unloading my car - they are outside as soon as I shut my engine off. Buff and Ernie are the best! read more

Used to use Buffalo Shipping for wine shipment when visiting Napa. Now they will not ship wine to many states, so we were stuck trying to figure out alternatives on our last day in Napa. Despite prominent UPS signs in their window they now only exclusively use FedEx, which they cited as the problem. Never fear, within a mile or two there is another UPS shipper that was much better! read more

Like another reviewer, I too had a bad experience with Buffalo's Shipping Post mishandling my shipment. Perhaps they need to review their personnel to ascertain that they can read and spell. My wine was express shipped to the wrong name, wrong address, wrong state & zip. When I inquired by phone as to the whereabouts of my shipment I treated with indifference and distain until it became clear that they had mada a mistake. They then call tagged my shipment back to CA (from CT), then re-shipped it to me (in OH). This took 5 days in the heat of summerthus negating the reason and the cost of express shipment. I never received any communication or an apology. Needless to say, I won't go back. read more

So I didn't actually ship anything here, but went in to buy some wine boxes that we used as checked luggage for our flight home. We got there right when they opened on Sunday at noon and was able to get out of there by 12:20 or so. They were even nice enough to let us borrow some packing tape and a marker to help us get our wine purchases safely boxed up before heading to SFO. The store itself looks pretty cool with a fun, eclectic array of stuff to buy. Again, I didn't ship anything through these guys so I can't speak to that experience. If you just need some packing supplies or are looking for a unique shopping experience I recommend stopping in. read more

I WOULD NEVER use Buffalo's Shipping Post again. I go to WineCountry evey year and ship wine home all of the time. We never had a problem. Until last year, our B&B, The Four Sisters, uses them and we shipped home 3 cases of wine from the hotel. Two cases arrived with broken bottles. We reported them to Fed Ex but since Buffalo is the shipper and we are the recipient, Buffalo has to send in the claim. To date (one yearr later), with numerous calls from Fed Ex Customer Care supervisors, Buffalo HAS NOT submitted claim for lose. I have called them, left messages with no return call. NEVER, NEVER use them. read more

I use Buffalo's Shipping Post for all my shipping needs. Ernie and the staff are SO helpful and kind. Recently I needed to ship an oversized box of returned items, which was going to cost over $100. Ernie helped me reduce the cost drastically by cutting down and repacking the box, and exploring all shipping options, at no extra charge. He saved me $70 in shipping. Another thing I love about Buffalo's is there is hardly ever a wait - I'm in and out quickly every time. read more

About a month ago, I had two bottles of wine shipped with Buffalo's Shipping Post. Three weeks went by, and I still hadn't received the bottles that they had promised would arrive in 7-10 days. When I contacted them, they informed me that they accidentally sent my wine to the wrong address, and that someone had signed for the package. They told me, "well, accidents happen," and said they'd try to send UPS out to retrieve the package. Two more weeks went by with no word from Buffalo's. I called them back, and they told me that UPS was unable to retrieve the package, and again, "accidents happen." Now they're telling me that they will have their sommelier decide what the value of my wine is, and they will pay me that price. The woman I spoke to on the phone is treating this like it happens everyday, and that it's no big deal. I was told by FedEx that they could not personally ship wine, and was told to go to Buffalo's Shipping Post. Since I'm not from Napa, I assumed Buffalo's was the only place in town to ship my wine. I'm writing this review to tell you all to please think twice before shipping your wine with Buffalo's Shipping Post. More than likely, you're not going to be receiving your wine if you do. read more

Its not as easy as you would think to ship your wine home. I'm still not clear on all the why's or how comes. This place was a god send and we found it here on Yelp. I was originally planning on stashing a few bottles in my suitcase as I had packed particularly lightly with this in mind...well, after the day in the Rixos Limo (another review posted) I had more than a couple bottles. Then I found a box that had had handles that you could check in as luggage on the plane - it held 6 bottles - so I bought it. Then I bought a couple more bottles figuring I could do some in the luggage AND 6 in the box. My husband began to question my ability to get through the SFO Airport with all this wine given the tram ride, the up and down escalators and the amount of walking required, so we turned to the Internet and found Buffalo's. The hours are great Saturday 9-5; Sunday 12 - 5; Monday - Friday 8-6. And, so I could ship a full case, I bought a couple more bottles to round out the box. The box showed up early and the cost for the case including an extra $100 (for a total of $200) in insurance was $60, including the box. They did however take my other shipping box away before I noticed it. I had thought my husband put it back in the car, but the staff took it away. Probably a good thing, or I would have been inclined to by 6 more bottles. Some things happen for a reason. If you have a printer, the shipping form is available on line, which would save you some time, especially if you have a lot of bottles or all different bottles. read more

DON'T SHIP WINE WITH THEM. THEY WILL SCREW YOU BIG TIME!! WORST SHIPPING COMPANY in NAPA area!! I arranged to ship 2 cases of wine. It's been almost a month but I haven't received my shipment so I called. I spoke with "the owner", Joanne. She was absolutely RUDE, didn't listen what I was callin for. I managed to get the tracking info (FedEx Ground) so I called FedEx myself. Turned out that they shipped my wine to INCORRECT ADDRESS and they were held by FedEx for over 2 weeks! FedEx rep told me Joanne called them not long ago and made a correction to the address. What a coincident!!! If I didn't call Buffalo to check on the shipping status, I would never get my wine! They charged me $131.00 for FedEx Ground shipment from CA to NJ that is overpriced from the benigging and no delivery after several weeks? I called back to speak with the Joanne. Guess what? She magically left for a day. I just spoke with her less than 10 min and she's gone now?! I asked the person who answered the phone, John to have her call me when she returns but he kept refusing. He put me on hold for good 5 min. I'm not wasting my phone bill so I hanged up. I called them again and John answered. I again asked him to have her call me and he told me he is busy and hanged up on me.... It's clear that all the workers including the owner herself didn't have any manner to assist me. They were so unprofessional. read more

I was in Buffalo Shipping on Saturday March 7th to ship two 1.5l and six standard bottles of wine home. Typically I would not use a 3rd party to ship something valuable but they were recommended and I took a chance since I could not carry them home. The two gentlemen working that day assured me my bottles would be shipped via UPS (this is extremely important since FedEx does not deliver inside our building). Well today we found out that our wine was sitting on a FedEx truck waiting to be redelivered. Not only is our wine a day late now but it was not shipped as promised. I contacted Buffalo to request a refund (we paid $175 dollars) and only to have it denied. The woman I spoke with (her name was Nina) had to the nerve to tell me "shame on you for never making a mistake and not understanding". I expect a company to deliver what they promise. A company that is suppose to specialize in wine shipment should understand request due to fragile nature of the cargo. I urge all of you reading this to take you business elsewhere. Shame on you Buffalo Shipping. read more
