I live in Napa and I started using Chardonnay because it is close to my home. The Cleaners I had been using for decades is on the far side of town and depending on the time of day could sometimes take as much as half an hour to get there, so I switched to Chardonnay. That said, I have usually found them to be very good cleaners so no complaints about the quality of their work. Also, the billing system they use seems to be accurate and efficient. Also some nice discounts on select days are a bonus! I've noticed most of the reviews here are either five or one star and I find myself having to agree with many of the one star reviews. The two young ladies who work behind the counter are seldom pleasant to deal with. They almost never smile. They seldom greet a customer coming in the door. I've never heard them say thank you and they generally act as if they really are not happy being there. Employee attitude has a big effect on business. If customers feel they're being treated rudely, they will go elsewhere. I think the manager needs to be paying attention to the one star reviews because they are numerous. And maybe the young ladies need to take an online class on customer service and relations. If they were a bit kinder and more pleasant toward their customers, they would find much of that kindness returned. read more

I was looking for a new dry cleaner in Napa and Chardonnay was in a convenient location for me. When I walked in, I was not greeted so I said I was a new customer. The person behind the counter told me to write down my name and number on a piece of paper. I did so and started handing them my laundry. She told me it would take a week to get my cleaning back. I asked about a minor repair on a jacket she said it would be at least a eeek for the repair and another week for the cleaning. At this point, I questioned walking in the door, then I looked around and the place was filthy. The person behind the counter was so rude that I decided to take my business elsewhere. She could not have cared less. I went down the street and had a very positive experience at another cleaner. I would recommend that you do the same. read more

They over charged me by $14 and instead of refunding me the overcharged amount (which by the way is because they tried giving me someone else's blouse), they told me the manager would call me back. Nobody called me so I went back and asked to be refunded and I was told I have a $10 credit on my account! This is illegal. You cannot do this. Then she told me to come back (again) when her manager returned. I said when is that? She said between now and 6pm (5 hour window). What a joke! Rude and stupid service. read more

i am disappointed in Chardonnay Cleaners - their customer service is not good and they do not explain their discount days properly. The clothes i submit do not all come in the same time , they come in pieces lately. They did not honor us the Ladies Day Monday 50% discount - as my husband dropped and because he is not a woman, they did not honor the discount . We have been a very good customer bringing in lots of clothes each week and surprised at the attitude they represent . read more

Avoid this business. Major clown alert Lost/misplaced three separate orders in the last four months, zero communication, zero accountability, hugely unprofessional Here is strike three, I've been working on my patience so kept cool during strikes one and two, each of which followed this pattern: i drop 4 simple men's tops for cleaning march 31 items supposed to be ready April 8 i swing by on April 8 only two of the items are done "the other two are on the late shuttle, come back at 5pm" given history of strikes one and two I just came back morning of the 9th don't have my shirts on the 9th "they will be on the late shuttle again and will be here by 5" CLOWN ALERT i request that they call me to confirm when the late shuttle arrives never call i call them at 11am on the 10th asking where my shirts are they say they have one of them but don't know where the other one is associate says "let me talk to my manager about this and call you back in 10 to 15 minutes" 3 hours pass, no call im in the neighborhood grocery shopping so just pull up and ask what gives. Why you wasting my time. Why you playing games. associate literally drops "it's on the late shuttle and will be here at 5PM" MAJOR CLOWN ALERT I tell her that this is unacceptable, wasting my time playing too many games, and I'd like the shirt delivered to my home address, which is in Napa proper she promises that the driver will deliver this between 5 and 5:30 much to my surprise he just dropped it off. driver is a nice guy Strike 2 was losing a white button down shirt I needed for an interview that was supposed to be ready 4 days in advance of interview Total mess of a business. A game playing factory. Unreliable and unprofessional I made a yelp account just to leave this review that's how badly they're clowning read more

This place is a mess. Came to pick up one pair of pants 8 days after dropping them off, still not done. No one picks up the phone. The parking lot is a nightmare. Don't go here read more

This has been my go-to place for 20 plus years. Always good service. They have great deals throughout the week.

I bought a new blouse that got tangled up in the washing machine the first time I cleaned it. It was so badly wrinkled, that I could not fix it with a steamer or re-washing, and ironing didn't seem like the solution because of how thin the material is. I received the blouse back in perfect condition and was surprised to see this little note attached. This is definitely a business that holds itself to high standards. They did a great job! And I love that they have a sense of humor as evident by signs in their lobby and on their countertop. read more

Chardonnay Cleaners - Note from dry cleaning staff - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Napa, California

Find another cleaner in Napa. Two shirts and 1 pair of pants for cleaning and 8 days later it's still not ready. I was planning to wear these clothes tonight and take them on vacation but that's not going to happen. No apologies, just rude indifference offered. read more

If you have ANY buckles or items sewn into your item, do NOT send them to this cleaner. Not only was my buckle never found, this store was most unresponsive. During the 5 weeks that I reported the item missing, I went 6 (yes 6) times to see if they had found it - manager was to call me back - NEVER did. Now I will have to spend $$ to buy a buckle and $$ to somehow put it back together. Will pick my last item and that's it - am done here. read more

Fast and easy to track service. Very excellent and I will be returning. They are faster than stated

Had 2 pairs of pants hemmed by their alterations seamstress. Did a very nice work and had ready in time for my trip.

For the love of god, do NOT do business with this place. I should have known better with all the negative reviews this establishment already has on YELP. I dropped off a few items to them at the beginning of the month for dry cleaning and repairs. One of the items came back with these weird inky black stains, and another item completely disappeared (still don't have it in my possession). The owner proceeded to gaslight me on the phone the whole time, accusing me of the wrongdoing of the items. When I told him that I should have never done business with them because of his business's bad reviews, he stated "Every dry cleaner in Napa has bad reviews". I mean, wow... way to take pride in your own business. What a joke. Please trust me when I say, save your money and go elsewhere. read more

My husband took 5 items for a dry cleaner, dress shirts and a suit, a couple weeks ago after he picked those items on 06/10/24 a burgundy shirt got several decoloration all over but the worse was, his suit didn't fit on him pants shorter and coat sleeves shorts too, we where attending a ceremony far away from home and with the short time to go get something else to ware. I when over Chardonnay cleaners on Wednesday to put my complain, expecting they take the responsibility for the damage of the shirt and for switch his suit some where else, we need to get reimbursement for those garments, the suit itself cost over $900.00 and the shirt $170 On Wednesday when I explain the attendant what was the situation and my complain, she explain that her manager will contact my husband to fallow up with this issue that day or the fallow day. Todas passed three day and the manager hadn't call my husband at all. Definitely nit recommend this dry cleaner at all read more

They really need to have more times available for alterations - not everyone can take time off work to get alterations done. I got an appointment for today as I happen to be off work today and they happen to be open, but I was running about 15 minutes late and called them to let them know. Turns out their alterations employee had already left, which I was a bit annoyed by - it had only been 15 minutes! The person on the other end of the phone said I could still come in and they could do it for me, but not the alteration job, just the pins. If I could alter clothing myself, why would I have made an alterations appointment in the first place?!? Also I found the scheduling of the original appointment a tad frustrating. I booked this appointment at the end of May and asked if Wednesday the 19th (meaning JUNE 19th, something I thought was implied!) was open. They said no, we are closed on Sundays. I assume they thought I meant May 19th, a date that had passed at the time of my call. I am wondering why anyone would think a person was referring to a /past/ date when trying to schedule an appointment! read more

Such an unpleasant and upset experience today when we picked up our items. I am a repeat customer and gave her her my cell number repeatedly, she still couldn't find my account. When she finally did, she blamed me for their mistake for entering my cell phone number one digit off. Honest mistake is understandable, but her attitude is absolutely unacceptable - Impatience, angry, and arrogance. Will take my business somewhere else in the future. read more

After weeks of waiting for a dress shirt that was "not lost, we just can't locate it" they gave me a credit for the value. I took three more items in. I went to pick up my items, and they couldn't locate those either! I needed them for an important event the next day, and I should have known NOT to rely on this place. Save yourself the headache of making repeated calls, "the manager will review the camera footage and call you", and definitely don't accept credit so they can lose more of your items! This place has a terrible review score for a reason. read more

This is my second review of Chardonnay Cleaners. The quality of service personnel have improved so much in the last year. Even after my last review, I kept taking my laundry to the cleaners . And I'm glad I did. Did an excellent job. They try very hard and when the laundry comes back it's always packed well. Either on hangers or folded, just expertly done so I wholeheartedly recommend Chardonnay cleaners to anyone in the Napa area. read more

I dropped off 4 men's dress shirts. When I arrived to pick them up on the day I was told they were ready they said only 2 of the shirts are ready but that I could pay for everything and take them home and then come back later that day to get the rest. I did just that. After getting home that evening with the second part of the order my husband noticed we had only received 3 shirts back. I immediately called and was told they didn't see I had dropped off 4 shirts. I told them I have the receipt that I paid for 4. They told me they would review the security video and call me back the next day. It's now been 3 weeks later. I have called multiple times and been in the store 3 times and each time I'm told the manager is out but "will call you before the end of the day". I've never received a call. When I called again yesterday I was told the same thing "manager is out but he needs to review the video". I told her I've been waiting weeks and she said "he will be here in 30-40 mins and I will personally make sure he calls you." He has not. The dress shirt is over $100 and at this point it's been almost a month since I first dropped it off. Not sure what to do as I've paid for the dress shirt to be dry cleaned and I've been ghosted by the manager. I will never use this business again and it's been the most unprofessional and frustrating situation I've experienced in years. read more

On a recent trip home to see my mom, she gave me a tablecloth and set of napkins. They are simple but embroidered by my grandmother and I remember their presence at many a family meal in my childhood. They were stained from years of use and simple household cleaning. Dropped em off last week a little leery about the ability to get them clean with these years old stains. Picked up today and they are clean as a whistle, beautiful with grandma's embroidery still intact. Thank you Chardonnay Cleaners!! read more

Worst service! I came in to have my jeans tailored its long so I need to have it shortened. Kids running the show stating I need to make an appt with someone who can take measurements who works from home which is only available on the days on her schedule which is a weekday but some people work on weekdays so I can't possibly take a day off for this small little thing to be cut shorter. So then I suggested can I borrow their pins so I can pin it myself and they told me I have to go home and do that and come back. What a waste of my time trying to communicate with non intelligent people. Common sense isn't common anymore. They seem busy so that's probably their way of saying we don't need more customers. read more

Chardonnay Cleaners - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Napa, California

The only practice of theirs I find ridiculous is that they'll text you that your order has been complete and you drive down there and then they tell you only half of your order is done and they need more time on the rest. Why text me if the order is not complete? It's a chore to come there and then to do it twice is deceiving your customers. Stop that practice and you'll be great! read more

This was my second time using Chardonnay Cleaners. The first time I had a 5' diameter thick oriental rug. I was told (did not get the name) it would be about $106.00. This was the lowest bid I had received so I took the rug to the Soscol facility. Jackie was very nice and received the rug. Then I get a call that it will be about $165.00 to clean the rug, not the $106.00 had been quoted over the phone a few days prior. I was very tempted to cancel, however, since they were only slightly higher then the other quotes I said to go ahead. It took 2 weeks but the rug was delivered and looked better, but still had some noticeable marks. I know that sometimes stains are permanent. Usually, with other cleaners, there is a note explaining that they could not remove the stains entirely. A note would have been appreciated so that I knew they had worked on it. Then, on my second time, I brought in 3 shirts and Jackie was working the counter. We looked at the shirts and agreed two were for laundry and one for dry cleaning. The shirts were supposed to be delivered on Wed., Sept.7. No Show. I called and was told my route day had been changed to Thursday. The shirts arrived Thursday and looked good. Then I looked at the attached billing and saw all three had been dry cleaned at $10.25 each. I called and spoke to Jasmine. She told me that the laundry price was $4.25. She was very nice and apologized for the error and she (and her co-worker Jackie) put a $20.00 credit my account, not just $12.00, for future use. And she also said my pick up/delivery day was now back Wed. All this makes me a little uncertain about using them again. I will give it one more shot and see how it goes. TBC... read more

They have a very unprofessional gal that answers the phones. I called 5 times (on different days) as their driver never showed up to pickup. The final time I asked to speak to a manager whose either gutless or the nasty girl with the bad attitude never told him as she's totally useless but told me he'd call me back. I would NOT recommend this business. Go to Browns Valley Cleaners, great, honest, reliable, reasonable. Chardonnay cleaners is a joke of a business that will only waste your time. I've been a customer for thirty years. I took a sweater into the cleaners in October and presented new credit card information which was refused. I picked up the sweater and again said you have the wrong credit for information and the clerk said no it's paid. 30 days go by I get a statement I go to Chardonnay to pay again refused. I called the manager and was told it was a billing problem and he'd call me the next day. No phone call now another statement came. I spoke to the general manager and explained everything and she refused to listen. She kept saying bill was over due. The worst customer is ever. read more

I've been here twice recently and everything went smoothly. They even gave me half-off for being a first time client. I stopped in today to drop off my items for cleaning. I've been going to Chardonnay for quite a few years. I dealt with Jackie. But when I arrived none of the open signs were on and the door would not readily open. Jackie was standing behind the second desk didn't look up when I walked in and regretfully took out one of her AirPods. She told me that it would be dropped at my house next week. I let her know that I pickup. I've always had good service. I requested a pick up on Wednesday or Thursday. She told me that there was absolutely nothing she would do to even get me a few of my items before Friday. She blamed COVID. Her attitude is downright awful. When asked her name, she was very snotty and told me she was there every day. I've never seen her before. It's really sad when a locally owned company doesn't at least try to accommodate the locals. I let her know I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more
