I took multiple pairs of pants and skirts in for tailoring. The skirts came out ok. The pants, however, were a waste of time and money. She took the waist in but did not taper the sides or behind. I was left with unwearable, saggy sides and bottom trousers that will now will all be donated. And that was after 30 days of waiting for the tailoring to be done and over $400+ spent. Took a pair of short for hem job, my wife was present when picked up, a $25 dollar charge was paid for the job, upon inspecting short and ready to wear noticed uneven lenght also felt a thicker material inside hem, removed a portion of stich and discover a piece of material left inside, decided to take shorts back to stich ahead shop for evaluation and lady denied that the job was done there,(of course),I am terrible sickend to paid $25 dollars cash and received such disgusted work, my wife is glad she did not leave her new linen pants, surprisingly shop owner denied the job done but offered to redo the shorts again, I refused, and tossed my $100 dollar tommy Bahama ruined shorts in the recycle bin. I back this business 100%! I've come here a few times and have always been happy with my hems on my pants. Today when I went in I noticed that while I was inside, someone also tried to come in. They were told nicely to wait outside as only one customer was allowed inside at a time. I got a dress hemmed on short notice- only thing she did was take a little off of the ends and took up the shoulders- I went in Monday and she said it would be done by Friday , which it was! I was extremely pleased with the final outcome of my dress! I had brought in a bridesmaid dress to get altered, I told them the date I needed it done by (3 weeks away) and was told it would be ready by then, if not earlier. When I went to pick up my dress on that day...it wasn't ready, in fact it hadn't even been started... I tried not to get frustrated, and stated that I need it done by the next morning because I was traveling out of the state for the wedding. She assured me she would have it done and apologized. This place is great with tailoring. I have had 5 shirts and 2 suit jackets and 1 suit pants, as well as a Topcoat tailored here because of my shortness. They give professional service each time and their work is very good. I've also notice as a result that my right shoulder slumps a bit more then my left shoulder, but that's besides the point. Overall, I would recommend this place to get your clothes alter, especially if you have a hard time finding clothes that fit perfectly, finding a perfect tailor for alteration is a life saver. read more

The attention to detail is second to none at A Stich Ahead. I recently brought this team a floor length dress that needed significant taking in for a wedding - I'm very petite and nothing fits me. The dress was strapless and needed to have the bodice taken in about three inches (which required taking out the entire zipper along the side and re-stitching it), the hem shortened, and I requested a pinch along the neckline to make a more princess style neckline. I am very picky when it comes to quality alterations, and not only did the woman listen to all my requests and directions, but she performed them perfectly. I also needed the dress is a rush and they completed the alternations before schedule and called me to let me know it was completed. I most definitely recommend this team. They are worth every penny. This lady is so rude! I walked and she just stared me down as if I were Inferior. Then she walked over and asked me "what to do want?" Don't know why maybe because I'm not her typical type of customer. Anyways, I asked her if she can do something with my shirt jacket, if In fact, I were to have an extra shirt that was the same. She had said yes, but when I went there a couple weeks later, she said she wasn't able to do anything with the jacket! After I had bought an extra shirt!! Her tone was also very demeaning! The staff was less than hospitable, and I felt pretty robbed. All I needed was 2 pairs of pants to be hemmed. Any other place I've ever been to has never charged more than $8 a hem, so you can imagine my shock when the gentleman told me my total was $30. I thought there was a mistake. It wasn't a rush job, it was just a simple hem. But apparently the price for each hem was $15. Which honestly, is fine. If that's your price then that's your price, but to have a price-point that you know is almost double the average, you really should inform your guests ahead of time. Bottom line: this lady was the most respectful, hardworking, and joyful person I've ever met. I brought in my homecoming dress to her two weeks before my dance and she got it finished in a very timely manner. My dress was a difficult material to hem so when it was on me, it hung funky. She was so willing to fix it that she spent 2 hours with me trying it on, marking it, resewing, and retrying it on. She is truly a woman of her word and she did not give up until it looked perfect. Not to mention, every time I put it on she would always complement how beautiful it looked on me and how much she loved the dress and color on me. Her work ended up being beautiful and outstanding.
