The owner grabbed my behind while pinning the hem on my dress and said it would make the alteration difficult because it was big. I've never had any tailor have an issue with my bubble butt before. I should've left with my dress at that point but let her do the alteration because I didn't want to drive to my normal place in Napa. She did a terrible job (the hem was very uneven) and I had to pick a different dress to wear to my event because it was unwearable. I'd also tried it on with the heels I planned to wear and told her it was an outdoor event. The hem was still so long I would've been tripping on it- very different than how it was when she pinned it. She charged double what my ladies in Napa charge and they do impeccable work and have never touched me in a way that made me feel uncomfortable or commented on my body. I'd never go back. read more

Difficult to leave a review. Although the quality of work is GOOD, I could not believe the horrendous stench of cigarettes that drenched my clothes. Chain smoking of cigarettes INDOORS by owner/s will leave your altered items reeking, as the clothes will be there for 2-3 weeks. I was beyond disgusted and just glad I only had a few not so valuable items hemmed. Had to wash them immediately and twice in a row to rid the stench. Unless you don't care about reeking like cigarettes or dry cleaning your dresses immediately after, I do not recommend taking your items here (especially valuable items like prom or wedding dresses). Crown tailor is different. I've been to other tailors before who just do what you told them. But going here, I told her what I wanted, and she showed me what I needed. What I wanted was what I thought would look like, but she broke it down why it wouldn't work or look right. She puts everything into perspective. I feel like some wouldn't understand her until they see the work she has done. She told me at the end she would do it but it would be according to her liking and would cost more than the item I brought in. Bought a dress last minute for my brothers wedding cuz I unfortunately got covid. So I called four days before I needed the dress to be fixed and I really thought that she would turn me down but she told me come right away. It was the best decision I made. It was obvious that she knew what she doing she gave me advise on how short to fix the dress and she was completely right. She told me about the material and how to steam it to not damage so I was very grateful for that. The end product looked amazing. Everyone thought that I have bought the dress at my size which of course it's almost impossible since I'm 4"11. The price was fair and I will keep bringing all my clothes here to get fixed. We discovered this place via Yelp in Sept 2012 for my daughter's bridesmaid dress alteration. (By the way David's Bridal in the Pinole area had terrible service and wanted to charge 2x as much for that terrible service. We said No to them...you should too.) Elaine did a great job on her dress, and since then I've taken: 3 suit coats to her, and my wife has taken her trench coat to her. All great jobs. Elaine might seem a bit forward, but she is very nice and tells you her opinion on how the clothes look and should look. It's good constructive criticism. I never got this lady's name but omg I love her! She's that kind of old school lady that talks to everyone like her grandchild and she means business! I brought in my suit jacket to get my sleeves shortened and she was quick to tell me to take my sweater off and try on the jacket. I didn't really know what I was doing so I let her make the adjustment and I just trusted the process. Turn around time for me was about 2 weeks but I told her that I was in no rush at all so it may be faster. I was really impressed with how my jacket was tailored and I was only charged 20 bucks.
