This establishment is horrible an atrocious. They are very selective of who they serve, primarily they do not cater to people of color or shall I say the African American community. I have witnessed my wife as well as myself attempting to receive services from this establishment and was denied both times. I've even had her hem my jeans and kept the original bottom and it's looks totally awesome. If you're not satisfied, she's very good about redoing it for you so that you are satisfied. And unlike other tailors she looks out for you. She knows when to say no when you don't know when to say no. She knows when things are hemmed or tightened a certain way the pants, shirt, blazer will look funny because of the way the material or cut. read more

A long time ago, I went to Elaine from a friend's recommendation for a suit. I have never felt so James Bond until after she tailored my suit. Like everyone says, she's really nice and charming, and has a great talent for her craft. So I became one of her clients. Fast forward a little bit - I go to another tailor in Vallejo out of convenience... HUGE mistake. Not only did I not look or feel like Bond, but that tailor cut the sleeves too short so when I bend my arm, too much cuff shows. The little Greek lady was so sweet the day I walked in with my prom dress. As soon as I put the dress on, she seemed to have known exactly what to do with it. I left it with her after measuring and came back to my dress just yesterday.. It was PERRRRFECT!!! I lost a little weight (thank you inshape) so she made a few quick adjustments in less than 3 minutes. For all the fabric I had on my dress and all the altering she had to do, I paid a very good and reasonable price before a beautiful dress. I regret not taking my prom dress from last year to this location.. Cleaners are a no go, learned my lesson!!! This place is great. My boyfriend tried on his very expensive dress pants today (he hasn't worn them for a few years). We were leaving on Tuesday to visit family and, UH OH... The pants don't fit the way they used to! I called Crown at noon and asked for an emergency alteration. We needed these pants let out, stat. I was told to come in immediately and she could do them same-day. This saved my life... Since I won't have time to get them altered on Monday. We show up and she inspects the pants. She says they can only be let out one inch. This sucks because we need three inches. My boyfriend decides to leave the pants anyway, starve for a few days and hope for the best. An hour and a half later, I pick up the pants. Sylvia (I think that's her name) somehow worked her magic and found the extra two inches! The pants fit perfectly, and all for only $10 (she quoted us $12 but took $10). This lady saved my love from having to starve on Thanksgiving to fit into his pants! I love this place. I've only recently started getting into altering my shirts/pants and she has been the most helpful and informative in showing me what can/cannot be done with the clothes I bring in. She'll tell it to you like it is- whether it will look good, or whether she recommends doing certain alterations, or whether you even need to get it altered at all. Even though I brought my suit in for needed tailoring with a very short window and even though she had a huge wedding party's dresses ahead of me she found a way to get my rush order done when I needed it. It was my first time going to a tailor, and this was a MIXED experience. When I dropped off my skirt the owner was pretty RUDE, not wanting to answer any questions, rushed all of my decisions, rudely questioned my alterations based on her opinion on how MY skirt should fit me, and was extremely short tempered with two other customers that came in. Another issue was that I couldn't really understand her English, which made her more irritable. HOWEVER, the alteration was done promptly, nicely, and when I picked it up interestingly enough she seemed to be a lot nicer. At the end of the day I'm happy with my skirt, and her prices I would say are worth the possible rude service. read more

I came in the day before my wedding because my dress ripped. She told me she was swamped and it wasn't enough time for her but after I told her my wedding was the next day she took it. She even had it ready in 2 hrs. The rip was horrible. A slit that bunched up and she fixed it. It looked as if nothing happened. My slit in my wedding dress was beautiful. She barely charged me too! Based on the wonderful reviews of this business I brought my brand new sport coat to have the sleeve length altered. It's a small quaint shop and you can tell she has been at this location for some time. Note: I arrived when she first opened and I did not smell any cigarette smoke in her shop. I only read a handful or so of the recent reviews, and there were no reviews stating the fact that she smoked. Upon further reading, you'll come to understand why I'm mentioning this fact. I agree she knows her craft and it was appreciated that she finished the alternation a day earlier than quoted. The job was well done and I asked her what I owed her for the work. What she quoted me on the phone was not the price she requested I pay when I arrived to pick up my coat. I had no problem paying the few extra dollars because her work was well done. I also noted there was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke this time I entered her shop! My big disappointment was that my brand new sport coat now reeked of cigarette smoke! I could have complained but chose not to, because there was nothing she could do to get rid of the smell. I had to bring my sports coat to have it dry cleaned to get rid of the smell and I hadn't even worn it yet! She is a nice lady and she does good work, but I won't be going back. read more

Horrible service. Lady is condescending, she rushes you, and looks at you like you're an idiot for wanting to have a particular job done. Seriously questioned me why I wanted "that' done. Because I do that's why. Here's the best part, the work was to be done 2 weeks away so a bit of a wait which is fine. When i went to go pick it up she tells me with an attitude that it's not ready. Apparently she doesn't have the right thread which okay but she had plenty of time to find this out and order it or go buy it. 2 weeks damn it.
