Went in for an alteration. The Korean lady was nice at first. Eager to serve, making comments that started to feel like flattery, etc. Then we found out why. She wouldn't give us the price of the alterations up front. She kept ignoring the question until the end. Then she asked for $180 for 2 simple alterations (straight-line hem dress). While we paid $50 for the dress!! Perhaps we were nice to her so she thought she could inflate the price. We got her to reduce the price to $80. This is still too much but we needed for a wedding in 5 days. Her flattery stopped and the warmth became cold, business. When we picked it up, no greetings. She told the dress off the hangar and gave us the dress without a hangar, without folding it and no bag. She treated it like a piece of material... rag and just gave it to us. Didn't go over the work that was done to it. Not even a thank you or have a nice day. I guess these tactics work for her since people gave her 4.2 stars. All the best lady! I was shocked why is it 50.00 I only got hemmed, she goes we pressed them, well I don't ask u to press them, a hemm for pants at the most , a simple hemm should be no more then 20- 25.00 I'm actually very disappointed . If I could give zero stars I would. This place is obscenely expensive! I brought in an adult Cinderella dress to be dry cleaned. I had asked when dropping off how much it would cost and the employee at the register said she didn't know. I should have just walked away then but I honestly wasn't worried because I didn't think it would be more than $30 max. Also I felt that their turn around time was pretty lengthy. 2 weeks for a dress to be picked up for a dry cleaning service seemed pretty slow on their part. When the dress was finally ready for pick up my jaw almost hit the floor when the same employee told me it would be almost $80! That's almost as much as the dress cost! The whole thing was ridiculous! I use to get my Persian rug dry cleaned (different dry cleaners from where I use to live) for less than $150 and you're going to charge me $80 for a dress?! Outrageous! I could have just bought a whole new dress for that amount. And if the employee had told me it would have cost that much in the very beginning you can bet I would have just walked right out. Thankfully she refunded 2/3rds of my money back when she was told that it is illegal to not have pricing listings available in the business for the customer and that she can be fined a very large sum of money by the Better Business Bureau. Her prices are a bit more on the expensive side compared to the other dry cleaners/tailors around town but the quality of work they do makes it worth coming back. I have to say the only thing about this place that was good was the lady was nice, but....What a crappy job, all I asked was to have his clothes ironed..this is two of many I haven't even seen them all yet, but the cuffs are not ironed, they damaged some of them, I'm hoping I can iron it out, so I payed 72 something dollars for them to possibly have damaged some shirts and did the crappiest job ironing, or did they even iron them?lol... Had a brand new polo winter coat and they completely ruined it. costed me $320. For their mistake, they offered me $45. What a joke. Their policy says they aren't responsible for damage like bleeding and zipper breakage. There policy says nothing about drying stains caused by their methods. Can someone please explain to me how a PROFESSIONAL CLEANERS spills black ink all over a linen suit?!?! Came here to get 2 pairs of pants shorted and tapered at the end. Walked in and immediately noticed clothes and bags everywhere. It was a mess. I gave them a benefit of the doubt and think they are just understaffed. There was a lady doing all the sewing to the side, and no one at the front desk. I said "excuse me" maybe 3 or 4 times before someone else from the back came out. She looked very unhappy. She more or less made me feel like she wanted to ask "what the hell do you want"... I just tried shrugging it off thinking she was just having a bad day. She asked me to go inside the box they call a dressing room so that I can put on the pants for her to pin. Walked in and there were a bunch of OPEN safety pins scattered on the ground, and trash just laying around. Again, I'm just attributing it to a lack of help, but it really felt unsafe. I kept my sandals on the entire time. Took a while for them to get to me because there was a line of people picking up their items. I didn't mind waiting. The lady was asking the seamstress to help me pin my pants, but I guess she can't really hear well because she asked a handful of times with no response. A customer had to go up to her and physically tap her shoulder to tell her that someone was in need of some assistance. Eventually it gets done and I'm ready to check out. I've gotten my pants tapered and hemmed a few times before when I lived in the South Bay, so for two pairs of pants I was expecting to pay no more than maybe $30 (though I have gotten it done for $20 before!). For the two pairs, with hemming and tapering, it was nearly $50! I didn't want to compain because I know these people are just trying to make an honest living, and if they feel like thats the appropriate price for their service, then I'm not going argue.... I just feel kinda jipped, considering the service and lack of cleanliness. If they were on top of their customer service and had their place looking decently presentable, then I might not be so inclined to leave this long of a yelp review, but it is what it is. They did a great job on the alteration of one of my pants, but the other one, the seam started to rip. I don't want to make the trip back out there to complain, just to add on to their list of things that are far more imperative to get done. I'll just have to travel back to the South Bay for my usual alterations. read more
