On 11/04 I had a wedding dress emergency. My wedding was coming up on 11/11 and I desperately needed a wedding dress to wear. I rushed my mom's wedding dress to get dry cleaned and I needed the dress ready by 11/10. Sherry made the experience very stress free and was able to have the dress ready a lot sooner! The dress looked immaculate!! I highly recommend this place! Thank you Sherry you're a life saver!! read more

I moved to Vallejo and needed a new dry cleaner and place for alterations, and was prompted to try Gateway Cleaners based on the Yelp reviews. I went in on a Saturday asking for sleeve alterations on a pair of blazers for a wedding the next Friday, which is really short notice (as they had just arrived). They assured me they could do the alterations and some additional dry cleaning by Friday morning, and not only did they follow through but they got it done two days before they said they would. Sherry is also very friendly, and is on a first name basis with her customers (going by the other interactions I witnessed while in there). One family stopped by outside just to say hello. I'll definitely be returning. read more

Dry Cleaning done in less than 2 days = awesome. They even checked if one shirt was cleaned and steamed it on the spot. AWESOME! The Older Man is incredibly nice. He tried conversing with me - that type of politeness will keep me coming back. He even gave me a calendar! I believe they thoroughly understand that people want to come in and get out their as fast as possible so they serve their customers quickly and efficiently. Also, their prices are a steal for the work they do. I highly recommend this place for quick turn-arounds, friendliness, and prices! read more

Had my suit tailor to me for my brothers wedding and it turned out fantastic she was fast and finished earlier than expected ! Definitely will come back!! read more

Sherry is the fairy godmother of seamstresses! She knows what good customer service is all about. I'm glad we went to her in Vallejo instead of going to our local one in our area. She delivered as expected but what's better was that my daughter's dress was ready 2 days before the pick-up date. I will surely go back to her again!!! Thank you so much Sherry!!! read more

The service was great and fast they finished suit in just 2 days. And helped with alterations as well.

I rarely go to the dry cleaners, however I had a last minute alteration needed for a wedding. Sherry is amazing!!!! It was so last minute I was afraid there wouldn't be time for her to complete but she assured me it would be ready by Friday. I got a call the next day that my dress was ready. I was beyond happy with experience. Not only did the length and seams turn out perfect but she even steamed my dress and hung it perfectly for the wedding and pictures. Thank you Sherry!! I will be coming back the next time I need anything done . Please continue to stay safe ! read more

This review is long overdue but I have always used this place for my dry cleaning needs but I used this place for my tailoring needs. Being a short person it's always a plus to have a good seamstress on hand to alter my pants and/or dresses when needed. The seamstress/owner is the best I know and she is so sweet! Her prices are good too especially for this awesome service she provides. I take all my jeans to her and no one ever knows they were tailored she is that good!! read more

I rarely need to use dry cleaner services, but I'm so glad I went here! I'm attending an Awards Ceremony soon since I was nominated for "Best Actor" in a TV series; and the suit I ordered online for the event didn't fit at all. After taking it in, Sherry tailored the suit to my liking in less than a week! The service at Gateway Cleaners was awesome! Now I can walk the red carpet confidently :) read more

Got pants fitted, both length and waist, and it was perfect. Highly recommend! They're pretty flexible with pickup times too.

Well I went here because it has best reviews for dry cleaners in Vallejo. I guess my expectations were high. Both times I went the lady seem unsure of herself and her ability to complete the task at hand. She asked too many questions and had a look of judgement. Did not feel comfortable and the place on the inside as you wait is uncomfortable and feels dusty in the air. Going to pick up dry cleaners on Friday so I hope she doesn't get ahold of this soon. Also no smile. Made me feel like a dollar not a relationship that I like with someone Id regularly do business. Also did not let me know prices before she rang me up. Its whatever. I need a new dry cleaner place to go to. Ill pay more if I have to. These guys are already expensive as it is and take 7 days to get a shirt! Really. Well ya I could prolly say more going in depth but Ill leave it at that. read more

I recently visited Gateway Cleaner, and they took such good care of me. I had one dress altered and another cleaned. I'm so happy!!! I will definitely be back!!! read more

So I purchased a dress to wear for my graduation pictures next month, and me being 5'1", dresses tend to be longer on me than the model photos. I would always pass by this place and because of that, I decided to take my dress here to get it altered. I knew it'd be a hard dress to alter due to its detailing and ruffles on the bottom. They had it altered within a week and it fits way better than it did before! She listened to me and fixed the dress the way I wanted it to be. Definitely coming back here! :) read more

Sherry was such a big help, it was my first time getting anything altered and she was very nice and hilarious. Overall everything went very well. My bridesmaid dress fits soooo perfectly! And I told her exactly what I needed to be done. read more

I've come here a few times and every time, I've never been disappointed. I recently came in to get my bridesmaid gown tailored and cleaned and my dress turned out beautifully. They were very accommodating to what I wanted and made sure that the dress came out exactly how I liked it and so she had the tailor work on it twice to make sure it fit perfectly on me! I will always come here for the tailoring and dry cleaning! I'm very happy with the service! read more

She has no prices posted for any of her services, so she said she would call me back with the total amount. She called me the next day and the amount was higher than expected. I asked her to break down the prices, but she had difficulty doing so. When I picked up my items, I asked why she does not display a menu. She replied that everything is different. Needless to say, I won't be going back there. Interestingly, one of my items had snags that weren't there when I dropped it off. read more

These folks do quality and efficient work. I think I have been going here for almost a decade for alterations and especially the length of my pants since most ready made pants are long in sizes (obviously manufacturers make them longer than short right?) except for coats that have long and short sizes R and L you can choose. Great place in Vallejo! Quite a few so let's keep them! read more

I have never been to a dry cleaner before, so looked at places on yelp, i called multiple locations getting cost and time quotes. Called here and they said they'd hold there machines off until i arrived so i could get my cloths washed by the next day. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back! read more

I came here last minute for NYE to get my dress cleaned & it needed a clasp added to it. They were very accommodating. It was a bit on the pricey side, but given my urgent request I appreciated them being able to make my request. read more

I had let a friend borrow a evening gown and they returned it covered in mud. I took my dress to Gateway cleaners, picked it up 2 weeks later and it looked like it was brand new. It made my day that my dress had been saved. Thank you so much !! read more

I went here to get my bridesmaid dress altered. This place over charges you. My cousin who got her wedding dress altered cost $100 but my simple $25 dress from Windsor cost $85 to alter. Not only was it over priced but sherry never told me how much it was going to be and that I just pay when I pick up. Had I known it was going to be almost $100 I would of just left it. It did not really need to be alter, just a plus. My dress was brand new when I brought it with the tag still on it and everything. Now it has a brown mark on the side. When I asked about it she just kept saying I Don't Know... didn't even bother to say oh let me wash that here for you or anything like that. The dress is now too short.. when I came in to get sized I brought in the shoes I would be wearing with the dress just to be sure. Trying it on in the fitting room at the cleaners. On my tippy toes it does not touch the ground. Imagine with my heels it really won't touch the ground. I didn't even try to fight it, she's the type that will try and blame everything on you and will not own up to her own fault. She also said she will call when finish but of course no communication. read more

They totally saved TWO Versace blazers that had been basically ruined when they got soaking wet in the back of my car. I wish I had a taken a 'before' picture but I thought the blazers were destroyed... gateway cleaners brought them back to life. Highly recommend! read more

The best dry cleaners in town! Clothes came out perfectly cleaned. I was very happy with the service from when I dropped off my clothes all the way to picking them up. Everyone was very friendly and professional every time i come in. One time I needed the suit on a relatively quick turnaround and they were able to get it turned around faster than I needed! And they didn't even charge me for it! Awesome! read more

You might find me here coming to pick up the me and my man's dry cleaning way too late. But Gateway Cleaners is always chill about it. My man has been taking things here for years. The recognize both of us and are always really sweet. Everything we have sent there has come back great! Including some tricky hemming of some pants I had destroyed by the hems touching the ground when I walked. Maybe I'm too used to prices in Oakland and SF being higher than Vallejo, but I have never received a bill that made me blanch. This was the first place I ever took our dry cleaning in Vallejo and I really have never seen much of a reason to change my ways. If there is something that makes a dry cleaner better than this anywhere in Vallejo, let me know. I'd be excited to see what more there is to offer in this realm of services. read more

As a new client, Sherry made me feel very welcome. I can see why Gateway Cleaners is highly recommended. I'm looking forward to returning.

Dropped off jackets this morning and they're already done! Yay! The old man is so nice and thanked me numerous times for my business. Suit jackets run about $7.50 and wool jackets around $12. Not bad for the materials. There was also a broken button on my jacket that they replaced for free. Good service. This place was also voted best in Solano County, and I can see why! Very clean and nice place. Would highly recommend. read more

They've been here for years and I've been going here ever since I moved to this area. Conveniently located in the Gateway Plaza Shopping Center. They work pretty quick even though they are always busy. I had my prom dress altered here, work clothes, and my graduation outfit as well. I wouldn't trust anyone else. I live another city away but I would drive to this location over anyone for their great service. Thank you! read more

Gateway is a small family business that performs quality dry cleaning services at inexpensive rates. The owner is also an expert seamstress with impeccable alteration knowledge. Super expensive tailoring imo. Cut a bridesmaid dress for a wedding as the maid of honor. I had to rush it because I got it cut 3 days prior to the wedding (but idk if that made a difference in pricing tbh). We fitted and decided on a length to cut but she couldn't give me an estimate when I brought it in so I asked for her to call me later in the day. Gave me an estimate later in the day for $69.00 for cut and adding a clasp hook. They already had my dress so I bit the bullet. The dress was around the same price so I was really bummed out. Staff was amicable and helpful but just average. Experience overall: Dress was still a tad long. I will try to find another tailor. Final Hashtag: #ThanksButByee read more

I have been going here to this place ever since I moved here in Vallejo (6 years ago). I've never had any problem with them and the owners are really nice and would always give me a smile whenever I come in. My most recent visit here was December of 2014. I brought in my white shirt with really dirty collar, and a couple wool jackets that are covered with mildew. I needed my white shirt right away for the NYE celebration and it was promised to me that it'll be done in a couple of days and will be ready for me to wear for the NYE celebration. With the wool jackets, they advised me that they might not be able to remove all the mildew I have accumulated on my jackets but they gave me hope by saying "we will do our best to make it look nice." Days passed by, and they were able to deliver what they promised me and even beyond that. My white shirt was totally clean, looking like a brand new shirt, and what really made me happy was that they were able to totally remove all the mildew on both of my wool jackets. I was really happy to result of their service. My only concern, but not really much of a concern, is their price (My reason for knocking off one star). Their price is a little bit on the moderate/expensive side, but with this kind of outstanding service that they provide, I can totally say that it's well worth my time and money. I will always go here and I always recommend them to my friends and family. Thank you for an outstanding service that I have been getting from you guys since the very beginning! read more

First time coming in for a alteration. Was courteous and done quick! Very satisfied, looking forward to returning.

I needed my uniforms dry cleaned, and this place had good yelp reviews. I must say all the good reviews of Gateway Cleaners were correct. I had 3 pairs (shirt and pants) that needed cleaning. Originally she told me it would be ready in a few days, but with my schedule, I told her I couldn't pick them up until next week. She asked if I was a fireman and how many uniforms I had left. I said one set. She said that's not enough, and said they will all be ready tomorrow. You can't get service like that anymore. The uniforms were ready the next day at a reasonable price. This is now my "go to" dry cleaners. read more

They do a great job at dry cleaning and alternations. I usually have to get my pants hemmed as they a bit long for me. Some cleaners I have been to have a weird odor after cleaning results in having to be sent to another cleaner. Glad I found this cleaner as a go to now. read more

Moved to the area from Sacramento, had a holiday party coming up and had to get a tux tailored! Since I am new to the area, I threw a dartboard at a map of alteration places and stumbled across this establishment. I had a double breasted black tie that needed a tightening around the waist and the pants needing hemming. She quoted me out about a week and a half but was done within 3 days! AMAZING! Prices seemed fair and this was quick service which was appreciated. Thank you and I definitely will be coming here again for my alteration needs. read more

I like 'em. They do a good, thorough job - checking for loose buttons, etc. Price seems kind of high, but they do such a good job, I think it's worth it. They even got a last min clean job done in the same day for me. read more

Awesome place. Fair price, quality work, and fast service. Long story short, I had two days to get an expensive Italian suit custom tailored. I took my suit here based on a recommendation from a family member. The day after I took my suit in they returned it to me with all the work perfectly done to the measuring specifications I needed. Of note, normal turn around time for the tailoring would have taken 3 to 5 days. Also, they initially said they could get it done in two days but they were nice enough to accommodate my lack of time and get the work done in one day just incase I wanted to make any other slight adjustments. In addition to their quick service on my suit, I turned in two custom Italian made shirts for cleaning and pressing and trousers. These items were returned to me the next day along with the suit and they didn't even charge me for the work on the trousers. . read more
