Our community hosted the Buddha Bruddah food truck today. The staff was friendly and the food was right on time (we ordered ahead) - we ordered the Kalaua Pork , phad thai and spicy pork. Soooooo good - get the Kalaua Pork if anything !!!! The Mac salad was so good and made me miss our yearly trips to Oahu.. You should absolutely check them out !

Buddha Bruddah - Huli Huli Ginger Chicken

Had the opportunity yesterday to try Buddha Bruddah Food Truck. I ordered the Huli Huli Ginger Chicken off the menu. The lady was nice who took my order and was pleasantly shocked to receive my order within five minutes! That's fast! The food was boxed with a cover, and upon opening the lid, I was impressed with the food presentation. Good portions too. The ginger chicken was complemented with a Hawaiian style macaroni salad, coleslaw and steamed rice. My first bite of the chicken......OMG.....the meat was tender, the flavors are on-point and balanced, making my tummy really happy! Then, a bite of the macaroni. Boy, did it worked well with the chicken. It had spices that was not overpowering and the macaroni pasta was perfectly cooked. Then, finally, my initial bite of the coleslaw....was not disappointed at all. It tasted great with the chicken and macaroni salad. Overall, I was impressed with the service, the portion, the price and quality of food I received. I highly recommend their food truck!

Super good food!!! Really good portions and taste. A little pricey for some of the dishes but overall worth it. We got a few different dishes and tried the many sauces they have! Everything was so delicious :) I didn't really interact with the staff much as I was just picking food up. Regardless, everyone was kind in their manner, wearing masks and following current covid guidelines

My first review was accidentally put on the restaurant page instead of the truck's, so here it is again. If i could do 3.5 stars I would.. not quite 4 stars but a 3 is also a tad harsh. The food was overall really delicious, and each part of the dish was very flavorful. The portion size was not too impressive, as compared to some other spots. It might look like it in the photo, but it's really just all sides, aka cheap carb fillers (macaroni, cole slaw, and rice), although as I mentioned they were still delicious. The meat was piled nicely that it looked like a decent amount, but it really actually wasn't much ~ and it's seemed like a really cheap cut of meat so I'd say the whole thing felt a bit overpriced.. which is I guess normal for these kinds of places. The kicker though for the points off is that the beef was definitelyy overcooked and dry, which was disappointing. The sauce fortunately was so good that it helped distract from that fact, but still noticeable - and in my opinion, that is supposed to be the main star of the show so it should've been executed better. Not sure if it's the cut of the beef or the way they cooked it, but I haven't had beef overcooked in a while. I hope this was a one-off because I was excited to try this spot, having heard such good things about it, so maybe will have to give it another shot in the future. Service was great and super quick, there was no line though since we hit it before the crowd i assume.

Over the past year, it hasn't been too often that we've treated ourselves to take out food, so we've been picky about who we choose. It was great to see the Buddha Bruddah food truck only a few miles from home. We tried the kalhua pork and the spicy pork plates. Both were huge servings and both were really tasty. They do a great job with Covid safety and online ordering is available. It makes me sad not to be able to be on a sandy Hawaiian beach but this comfort food brings the Aloha spirit to the Eastside.

Buddha Bruddah is one of our favorite restaurants, and we were delighted that their food truck could cater our wedding welcome party at Hellbent. They also provided hot plates, compostable serving utensils, and table decor to keep the food hot and fresh while we entertained our guests. The vegan dish - edamame in soy with a wonton crisp - was extremely popular. We'd love to have them cater any of our events in the future, and will surely return in the interim.

Buddha Bruddah's food truck came to my neighborhood which was the perfect excuse to get a little variety in our dinner routine during COVID. We ordered ahead online to try and make it as easy as possible and keep socially distanced...etc. They were so busy that our scheduled pick up time was delayed by 30 minutes. It was still a good idea to pre-order because they were so slammed they weren't even taking walk up orders when we arrived. With all of this I was expecting an unforgettable dinning experience but I think people just wanted something a little different on a Friday night during a pandemic. The food was hit and miss for me. The Huli Huli Chicken was pretty good paired with the mac salad and Asian slaw that came with it. Im not usually a Katsu person but BB's take was surprisingly solid and it held up nicely considering we didn't eat it until about 45 minutes after picking it up. Fried food doesn't always work that way but this did and the chicken was juicy. Skip the Phad Thai! This was a flavorless disaster. There was nothing so memorable that I would go out of my way for this truck but if it was in the area again, and the wait wasn't insane, I would probably order a chicken dish and get my plate lunch fix. Pros Online ordering Good mac salad Great sesame slaw Cons Avoid the Phad Thai at all costs

Saw this food truck parked in downtown at 5th & Union area, so I thought I'd check them out. I haven't eaten at a food truck in a long time so why not. Walked up about noon, there was no line but there were about 8 bros waiting for their food. I decided to just pick one of their mixed plates and got the Hawaiian Grilled Beef. Comes with 2 scoops of rice, mac salad and Asian slaw. Lady yelled to the cook my order and mentioned it was an "easy plate" which meant that my food would come out real quick. The food was good, not the most flavorful in my book but it was fine for lunch. Beef is cut on the thicker side so it may not look like a whole lot of beef in your box. Beef is already pre-cooked so it wasn't the most tender, some parts were a little dry. Marinade was ok, wish is was more flavorful, Asian slaw was i-ight, mac salad was actually pretty good where I could eat a large tub of it. Food did come out pretty quick, I only waited a few minutes, all they had to do was to plate it up in the to-go box for me as everything was already cooked & ready. They have a hot sauce station to jazz up your box. Prices are about $11+ so yea it's on the higher side. They will yell out your name when your food is ready just in case you are busy staring at your phone. Glad I checked them out, overall it was just ok to good, if I see them on the streets again, may stop by again and try some other items.

Buddha Bruddah is a food truck specializing in Asian and Hawaiian food. It has a regular lunch stop several days each week in South Lake Union, though the location may be different. Check the website for this info before you head out. Recently started working at Amazon and this was the first food truck I tried out in the area as I wanted to try their Hawaiian meals out. The truck was parked just off of Westlake Avenue on the day I visited. It was after 1 pm, so there was no line here. The food prices are a bit higher than other trucks nearby as many of the meals are over the $10 threshold, though tax is inclusive in the price. For my meal here, I decided to order the huli huli ginger chicken ($11) which comes with 2 scoops of rice, macaroni salad and Asian slaw. The food came out really fast as it was served pretty much right after I paid. Overall, I thought my meal was alright. The chicken is tasty though it is reminiscent of the chicken from teriyaki joints. For some reason I thought the chicken would be like a mochiko chicken with a huli huli glaze, but alas it was not. As for the other items, I thought the rice was odd as it tasted cold like it was chilled. The best thing in this dish was definitely the macaroni salad. It is creamy and not filled with any unnecessary ingredients. There are plenty of food trucks in South Lake Union to choose from. From a price perspective, this food truck is a bit spendy for a workday lunch so I don't think I will be a regular here. But if I have a hankering for Hawaiian food, this would be the food truck that I will go to.

What a fun find! My friend and I happened upon Buddha Bruddah while deciding what to get for lunch and we were both pleasantly surprised. :) Relatively new (I think it opened this year?), this food truck can be spotted in the Downtown Seattle area in McGraw Square on Wednesdays starting at 11AM. They have very friendly people working at the truck - the lady taking our order was super engaging, asked us if it was our first time there and made great hot sauce suggestions. They have a pretty straightforward menu - about four entree items and a variety of side dishes. They even sell t-shirts, I believe! I like the little hot sauce stand that they have, where you can try anything from a mild Thai dipping sauce to other spicier sauces. My friend and I both went for the Hawaiian Grilled Beef plate. For $10 even, we got a pretty hefty serving of rice, mac salad, slaw and marinated and grilled flap (which I didn't realize was beef until today!) SO. GOOD. The Teriyaki seasoning was just enough and not too salty, and the mac salad went very well with it. Try the beef with the Thai dipping sauce - it adds a nice, subtle zing! :) I believe they have a rotating menu because I had wanted to try their Bruddah Fried Rice, which wasn't available when I visited. Guess I'll just have to stop by again!

    Phad thai
    Justina S.

I should of read the reviews before buying lunch from them. I just ordered the phad thai and it isn't as delicious as it smells. The tofu isn't fried or precooked, still raw. The noodles were dunked into hot boiling water then emerged into phad thai sauce and then tossed over high heat. This isn't phad thai at all. So save you $10 and invest it else where.

Food was tasty and reasonably priced! I would recommend if you're near the area but not worth to drive out of your way for. The food isn't very spicy, but it has great flavor! Service is also excellent

Flavors are out of this world. One of the best things is I can't find any restaurant or food truck I've been to that cones close to offering the dishes they do at the same level of flavor, portions, and price. The sauce collection is top of the line too and the seaweed seasoning is a must. The Hulu Hulu Ginger Chicken is my go to and the Mac salad is the best I've ever had. Keep up the amazing work!

I always order Miang Kham when I see it since it's such a rare find, and this one was excellent. The Crying Tiger was tasty but came out more well done than the medium-rare we ordered. That said, we still finished it because the dipping sauce was fantastic and the purple-and-white sticky rice was delicious. The Mango Salad was beautifully prepared with shredded mango that had just the right crunch and tartness. Generous portions served. I quite like the high veggies-to-udon ratio, almost equal parts. Overall flavor is a bit salty. Some beef pieces are better than others, a mix of tender and chewy. Garlic Pepper Soft Shell Crab, $16.95 - 3.5 Stars Despite being fried, these pieces are softer, less crispy than I all other fried soft-shell crab I have had. Perhaps they might need to double fry. Fortunately I was in the SLU/South Queen Anne area, but I can totally seeing it being really difficult to find parking when it gets really busy during peak hours. The only parking options nearby are streetside parking with some paid lots - would recommend public transportation to get here to try the place out. Service was fast - this could also be attributed to going on a weekday, we were able to receive our food in about 8 - 10 minutes after ordering. Ambiance is cozy, feels like a casual dine in with lots of natural lighting and the decoration is charming. We got two items, which I'll review down below: Granny's Pork Belly Baos ($8): A tasty bun! The pork was tender and was nicely complemented by the slightly tart apples and floral plum sauce. The buns were light and fluffy and the green onion and cilantro provided a fresh herb taste. I think that $4 per bun is pretty standard price wise for two buns of this quality, and they service a pleasant appetizer. Village Bowl ($16): The Village Bowl is a vermicelli bowl that has all of the fixings - serves as a nice sampler into the types of meats that the restaurant has to offer. It was delicious! The meats were not too heavily salted, flavored well, and were cooked nicely. Portion-wise is decent and would maybe fill most people up. I think that maybe a little larger was would be perfect as I still left a little bit hungry after this bowl and an appetizer. I would say that Meekong Bar is pretty solid if you are looking for Vietnamese food in the SLU/upper belltown area. I think the thing that Meekong Bar has going for it is mostly the price, as other Vietnamese restaurants in the area charge much more ($4 - $6 more) for the same dishes. I would definitely come back to try the other options that this restaurant has to offer.

We were greeted warmly by our host, Steven, and seated earlier than our reservation. He and his colleagues was attentive and hospitable through the meal. The steak tartare was excellent with the sweetness of Asian pear paired with the earthiness of beef. The black cod sauce was addicting and balanced between sweet and savory, and the cod was flaky. The hanger steak ssam was blended at the table and had great richness and body with the beef. The sharpness from the cod sauce helped even out the buttery rice. The ginger crème brûlée was unique. The crème delivered the ginger in a bold, but not overpowering way. The caramel sauce and ice cream cooperated with all the flavor. Not too sweet It has been a long time since experiencing an "elevated" Asian meal as corny as it sounds. If you're into internet memes, then the charge is having a succulent Korean meal. Possible improvements: standard size plates instead of tapas style small plates (though I understand heir intent was for family style sharing). Additional table linen or plates to place your utensils because a small plate can't hold a fork, spoon, and chopsticks while you take portions from the main dishes. Conjoined to the paramount hotel, not sure what the parking situation is like since we arrived via light rail. Definitely would recommend if you're in the area.

I was originally going to order some musubi, but after seeing a curry dish, I couldn't resist. Curry Loco Moco Don ($16) - The chef first piles a mound of rice in the bowl. It seems to be higher quality short grain rice, giving great mouthfeel at first, but then biting into it, the overcooked mushy qualities emerge. The rice is sprinkled with a bit of furikake, adding a briny and savory flavor profile. Two beef patties are set on top, both with seemingly fake grill marks, perhaps indicative of commercial patties. They are homogeneous with a kind of spongy texture, pressed into a puck with a bunch of filler like Japanese hambagu. The beef is somewhat tender, but isn't soft enough to be cut through with a plastic fork. There's a fried egg on top, complete with runny yolk and even a small amount of runny white. They then ladle a couple of scoops of Japanese curry over the top. It's somewhat generic, probably a normal boxed curry mix with no embellishment, but it's cooked well. It has a nice thickness, isn't too thin or runny, lending a good curry flavor to the dish. I do with it came with a bit more curry since after eating about half the dish, it was all gone. Finally, some pickled ginger on top completes the dish. The curry is quite filling, probably close to 2 pounds of food. (4/5) Musubi Kai is a convenient and quick stop for a bite while downtown.
