The selection is outstanding and the sales staff is friendly and knowledgable. We were offered water and the sales staff was right on hand to bring different sizes as needed. The fabrics are all very soft and the quality matches the price. My friend bought two sweaters and a tee shirt and I'm going back for a summer sweater. I'm a big fan of the brand Buck Mason and their selections they carry in the store. It's quiet luxury meets SoCal minimalism. The stores reflect that style, minimalist yet highly designed. It's filled out comfy couches, a curated liquor cabinet and a great selection of vinyl LPs. Everything is meant for you to feel what the brand stands for. Unfortunately, what Buck Mason doesn't offer is value. It's quite expensive for what it's offering, partly because it's made in the USA and partly because the materials used. However, they try to offer better than good service in the store to make you feel valued. Offering stylists with great taste and suggestions, but at the risk of not understand body types by some of them. Overall, they're a good brand that makes great clothing. If they offered just a little bit more value for the money, it would put them over the top of the quiet luxury brands currently out there. read more

I ordered masks from them online, after about 3 weeks went by, still no masks. So I sent an inquiry through the Arrive app (now Shop). The response I received was very passive aggressive letting me know that I should already know when this will ship because it said so on the website when I purchased the masks. I responded letting her know that the response was rude and explained that I had sent the email through Arrive and that the information she conveyed was not available in the Arrive app (also am I supposed to remember every detail of every order I have made in that time). I wanted an apology from her as I would give her if I acted like a complete a-hole to one of my customers but she did not acknowledge that part of my message. I would never buy another product from them as this interaction has left a bad taste in my mouth. Now my issue with the product, when I purchased these masks the listing only showed one style that was black and tied in the back. In this email exchange I learned that not all of the masks would be like that and some would be the folded type with elastic that goes around the ear. This was a total bait and switch and not what I had purchased. I have since cancelled my order and am super disappointed with my experience with this store. read more

Buck Mason Abbot Kinney location is a great place for men to find good quality basics and well designed all American clothing. Great selection of tees and henleys in awesome colors. Shirts wash well. Hoodies and zippered hoodies are excellent quality. Jeans are a bit long and need to be altered but they do free alterations which they measure you for on site/same time and you can come back to retrieve within several days. Glad that this is offered since most of their pants run long. Basic fitting rooms...plenty for guys. Decent size rack of sale/closing out items. Overall location on Abbot Kinney is good. Store decor is low key chic...perfect for Venice. read more

Just moved to the area and been shopping on abbot Kinney quite frequently. Walked by the other day and found this small store. I thought It was a mens store but after walking in and chatting with the staff she pointed the new women's arrivals. I guess they recently added more pieces to the woman's section. OMG ! Love all the basic tees and they are super soft as well. I got 2 colors of each. I also tried on the spring dresses and let me tell you fit like a glove. For a company that claims to be, "building each piece to last beyond a single season", you'd think that they would construct a neck tag that could support the weight of the coat and could last beyond a single day. Nice cut to the coat, but the quality is debatable. When I reached out to the company I was told, "When you increase the quality of a garment the care required may increase as well". Duly noted. I will make sure my Buck Mason chore coat only hangs on the finest of hangers, kind sir. Either way, they reimbursed me the $5 my tailor charged to reattach the neck tag. Stopped by on 4/2. Employees were quite rude. They hovered over me while I felt the materials and checked out the styles. They were afraid I'd mess up their precious piles. They kept passive aggressively insisting that they can get sizes for me. Whenever I touched a pile, someone would essentially push me out of the way to immediately refold the pile. At one point I felt obligated to apologize for not folding items properly, expecting a friendly "no it's fine." Instead I was snapped at and reprimanded for my poor folding skills. Let me explain something. For a store like Buck Mason, which has a massive e-commerce presence, the entire point of a brick and mortar store is to let customers touch things!!! Coincidentally, while I was there, a different customer kindly told the employees that they were planning to buy something today, but they stopped by three times and were ignored. They advertise free returns, however then they would charge you for the return. It is apparently a "no-return-customers" enterprise. I've been seeing ad's for this place on instagram for a while now and eventually discovered that they have a couple of stores in LA. Went to the one on Abbott Kinney because I always prefer buying clothes in person rather than online. The store is great vibes, and the lady that was working that day was super cool and helpful. I love the styles of their shirts, and ended up buying one of their light-weight sweaters. It looks great, definitely one of my favorite wardrobe pieces. My only complaint is that the fabric does not hold up very well in the wash. I put it through one standard wash/dry cycle and it came out with multiple rips and tears. I would expect this to happen eventually, but not after just one wash.. especially for a relatively expensive garment. If you end up buying from this place, definitely consider hang-drying and washing on a delicate setting. read more

This review is for the women's Buck Mason that is across the street from the mens store but doesn't seem to be on yelp. I am sort of astonished how ill fitting and poorly designed the women's clothes are from this line, as the mens store is very popular and has well cut nicely designed clothes. I felt i tried on every thing in the store trying to find one piece worth getting that doesn't seem cut for a 12 prepubescent year old girl. They forgot to change the design to women's bodies. I had to return a horribly fitting dress and i couldn't find one item I wanted in there to exchange. Everything was really horribly cut and limited to colors like unflattering mud or lighter unflattering mud. I don't expect the women's shop to last long but I hope they hire better designers to create women's clothes for actual women's bodies. When you offer about three dresses or three pants how can none of them work? The mystery continues. read more

This company is all PR hype and I bought into it. I bought three t-shirts from them having liked the fit and colors. Wore them once and threw them in the wash along with all of my other t-shirts. Well, everything came out of the wash looking great except for exactly three t-shirts that had what looked like large oil stains on them... and all three were from Buck Mason. All my other shirts looked fine. If this had happened to one shirt, i would chalk it up to bad luck, but all three looked aweful after wearing and washing once. Don't buy. read more

I actually bought 10 and donated 10, but after waiting for 2 months the shipment only contained 5 masks (thought the packing invoiced showed 10 were packed). 2 problems...very cheap quality (unwearable because the ear straps are so thin they tear your skin behind the ears)...and no refund for the other 5, just store credit. since I changed credit cards during the two month waiting period since I paid. Buyer beware!! I ordered 2 packs of 5 ct Buck Mason masks, shown as a black technical mask on their website along with a 2-8 day shipping disclaimer. After 2 weeks, I still hadn't received the masks. When I inquired to customer service they said they were still sourcing materials. Seems to me you shouldn't be selling a product that you do not have materials for. I was annoyed they didn't meet the shipping window and felt the company was taking advantage of the global situation but I was stuck. I purchased and I needed masks so I waited. It took one month to receive the masks. On their website, they claim they are known for their architecture approach to clothing so I imagined this mask was going to knock my socks off. Again, disappointed when I received masks that look like my neighbor, a 10 year old Girl Scout, made in her garage. I'll let the picture speak for itself. That being said, I've never had a bad experience at this store. It has obviously grown a lot in scale, as Tracy is no longer the sole employee you'll find here monday-sunday, but all the new employees are awesome, friendly and super knowledgable. Their t-shirts, henleys, and knits are top notch, ESPECIALLY at their price point ($30 for MiUSA t-shirts? Come on.) The customer service has also been incredible. Anytime I have had any issue with a tee shirt, they've exchanged it for another product, no questions asked. Very excited to see how the brand continues to grow, as they've now begun dipping their feet into button downs, thicker knits (like cardigans) and even more outerwear! When starting to fill your wardrobe with Buck Mason products, you feel somehow like a more complete man; refined. Big fan of Buck Mason and their style & fit. The shirts are adequately priced; more expensive then your Target but less than your high end brands. Around the start of 2017 or so, they changed their sizing, much to my surprise, but customer service actually sent a new shirt with the right size free of charge right away. I also had a button fall off my Oxford shirt, and they sent me a gift certificate for my troubles. Some rough spots, but overall, I'm a Buck Mason fan! read more

Tried to exchange a pair of jeans they were very helpful in the exchange except that its been over a month. I mailed them to their downtown office and its been over a month to get the exchanged jeans. Have emailed them many times and its always a delay. I'll preface everything by saying that I live in Atlanta, and my experience with Buck Mason was strictly over the phone, email, and online portal. The product is exceptional. I'm a big fan of the tees and jeans. I wanna say I have 6 items from them?? Maybe 7...idk. The important thing is that they are awesome. The service was exceptional as well. Here's the thing people need to understand; sometimes shit happens. Simple as that. One of the black tees I received had the tiniest hole in it. Oh well, no biggy. Shout out to Gerald who got on this right away. Sent me a new shirt asap (I had to provide a picture of course, and the tag was still on it). I see some people call out the company for poor service. I visited LA in January and noticed this little shop tucked on the corner of Venice and Abbott Kinney. We went in and were really surprised to see so much neat clothing in such a tiny place. I loved the photos on the walls that showed how the clothing is made. Nice touch. All the clothing in the store is handmade in the US, which I really liked. The prices were reasonable and I bought 3 of their t shirts for my fiancé and took a chance on their selvege-edged jeans. The salespeople in the store seemed friendly and the tall sales guy wearing a hat (I don't remember his name) took care of me and helped me with sizing. The jeans ended up being too big so I sent them back and they exchanged them for a smaller size within a week. (Listen to the salesperson - they know their stuff. I thought the larger size would fit better) I've washed the t shirts a few times and they didn't shrink or get bent out of shape like typical cheap ones do. My fiancé was so pleased with the shirts that we ordered 2 more. We had to wait a bit while they were being made, but that was OK. He now has "fresh off the press" shirts. The jeans are really sturdy denim and he has also worn them with his black t shirt and a sports jacket, which really looks nice. Ten months have elapsed since my last update and a lot has changed. As I sit here on October 12, I am no longer a true believer. BM was out of stock, starting in July, of a simple pair of jeans. They finally became available again Wednesday of last week. Shipped Thursday and since then has been in a postal facility for the 6 days. OK there was a holiday. Customer service since July has been optimistic and encouraging but ultimately inaccurate with their forecasts and unhelpful although they are but a messenger. No update to any review I've ever written has resulted in a 3 star penalty before, but a major problem has developed at Buck Mason, somewhere between capitalization, supply chain, distribution and fulfillment. Suffice it to say, this will likely be my final update and final order which is a shame, but even the best, locally sourced product in the world is flatly useless if it is unreasonably out of stock or unreliably or irregularly distributed. read more

Well after reading all the reviews I see we are not alone. My husband has probably 15 pieces of clothing from BM. The tshirts look so great until they don't. Which is pretty soon after. Somehow they wear and tear way more easily than any other T-shirt. Holes and stretch out on every single T. I mentioned it to an employee at the Pac Palisades store and he said "I've never heard that before" and then I read all the reviews stating exactly what we have experienced!! I feel like I'm not crazy now. For the price you would think it would last but alas they do not. read more
