Nice place to shop for men's clothing, they have a store for females a couple stores down, both are located in an old Craftsman style house and matches the vibe for old Americana clothing made in the US. Founded in 2013 in Venice, California, by Sasha Koehn and Erik Allen Ford, they started out of a 350-square-foot garage with locally-made jeans and tees and a simple goal to make clothing that will stand the test of time. Because they are made in the US and use high quality materials they are quite expensive. A friend was wearing a really nice T-Shirt in the Bay Area and when I asked him about the brand he told me "Buck Mason". I wasn't trying to come here specifically but remembered the name when I saw the store and decided to come. Staff was nice and offered water, they also have quite a large selection of liquor near a turn table but I didn't feel like having a drink at the time. I did end up find the T Shirt I wanted and it's easily my favorite T Shirt now! read more

Wow Buck Mason! Your customer service is outstanding! My friend and I stopped in today because she needed some lightweight sweaters and a tee shirt. The selection is outstanding and the sales staff is friendly and knowledgable. We were offered water and the sales staff was right on hand to bring different sizes as needed. The fabrics are all very soft and the quality matches the price. My friend bought two sweaters and a tee shirt and I'm going back for a summer sweater. This is customer service at its best! read more

I had to do an exchange over here since my wife bought me the wrong size jacket, Bailey helped me out and made the entire transaction of breeze, if only everybody in Customer Service was as friendly and approachable as Bailey the world would be a much better place. read more

I'm a big fan of the brand Buck Mason and their selections they carry in the store. It's quiet luxury meets SoCal minimalism. The stores reflect that style, minimalist yet highly designed. It's filled out comfy couches, a curated liquor cabinet and a great selection of vinyl LPs. Everything is meant for you to feel what the brand stands for. Unfortunately, what Buck Mason doesn't offer is value. It's quite expensive for what it's offering, partly because it's made in the USA and partly because the materials used. However, they try to offer better than good service in the store to make you feel valued. Offering stylists with great taste and suggestions, but at the risk of not understand body types by some of them. Overall, they're a good brand that makes great clothing. If they offered just a little bit more value for the money, it would put them over the top of the quiet luxury brands currently out there. read more

I've bought multiple pairs of jeans from them. I had a little issue with a pair being ordered incorrectly (George vs. Maverick) that were hemmed and sent to me. Buck Mason totally stepped up and made things right immediately. They're super on it, fair, and polite. I'm a customer for life (or until they stop making button fly jeans lol)! read more

Great experience! Customer service was top-notch, very accommodating and timely. Noah was particularly helpful

Amazing service. Showed me multiple high quality shirts based on the needs I described. They also offered a free hem on a shirt that was a bit too long. For the quality of the fabric, prices are reasonable. Highly recommend checking out. read more

The coolest clothes. I really love it. I stained my favorite untuckit shirt and I was going to get something here (since untuckit probably doesn't make it anymore). The stars were due to unfriendly staff (after their hi). One employee talking about how clumsy her ex was with a shirt. Was weird. Another just kinda rolled her eyes when I said hi. Still will be my go-to because the clothes are really cool. Too bad they have no chains further down than here. read more

I've shopped here for several years now and definitely can't say enough good things about the brand and store. In a time when brick and mortar stores aren't fairing well, the service here at Abbot Kinney makes a case for their continued existence. I usually stop by to check sizing, but almost always leave with something. I was most recently helped by Diamond and she was so attentive and kind. read more

Buck Mason - Fitting room - Men's Clothing Near Me - Venice, California

I ordered masks from them online, after about 3 weeks went by, still no masks. So I sent an inquiry through the Arrive app (now Shop). The response I received was very passive aggressive letting me know that I should already know when this will ship because it said so on the website when I purchased the masks. I responded letting her know that the response was rude and explained that I had sent the email through Arrive and that the information she conveyed was not available in the Arrive app (also am I supposed to remember every detail of every order I have made in that time). I wanted an apology from her as I would give her if I acted like a complete a-hole to one of my customers but she did not acknowledge that part of my message. I would never buy another product from them as this interaction has left a bad taste in my mouth. Now my issue with the product, when I purchased these masks the listing only showed one style that was black and tied in the back. In this email exchange I learned that not all of the masks would be like that and some would be the folded type with elastic that goes around the ear. This was a total bait and switch and not what I had purchased. I have since cancelled my order and am super disappointed with my experience with this store. read more

Long story short, was approached by this white kid with curly hair ‍ asked what size shirt and my response was "well not quite sure but what I have now is........" He literally WALKED AWAY.... This is my favorite men's store period. Sophisticated on trend style unique to Buck Mason. The staff at the Venice location are super friendly and helpful. The cloths fit great and they offer tailoring services gratis if your short and stalky like me, comes in handy ;) read more

Buck Mason Abbot Kinney location is a great place for men to find good quality basics and well designed all American clothing. Great selection of tees and henleys in awesome colors. Shirts wash well. Hoodies and zippered hoodies are excellent quality. Jeans are a bit long and need to be altered but they do free alterations which they measure you for on site/same time and you can come back to retrieve within several days. Glad that this is offered since most of their pants run long. Basic fitting rooms...plenty for guys. Decent size rack of sale/closing out items. Overall location on Abbot Kinney is good. Store decor is low key chic...perfect for Venice. read more

Just moved to the area and been shopping on abbot Kinney quite frequently. Walked by the other day and found this small store. I thought It was a mens store but after walking in and chatting with the staff she pointed the new women's arrivals. I guess they recently added more pieces to the woman's section. OMG ! Love all the basic tees and they are super soft as well. I got 2 colors of each. I also tried on the spring dresses and let me tell you fit like a glove. So glad I found this store and the staff went above and beyond to get me sizes to figure out what fit best. Easy check out and love that they email receipt. Thanks Julia and Manuel! For a company that claims to be, "building each piece to last beyond a single season", you'd think that they would construct a neck tag that could support the weight of the coat and could last beyond a single day. Nice cut to the coat, but the quality is debatable. When I reached out to the company I was told, "When you increase the quality of a garment the care required may increase as well". Duly noted. I will make sure my Buck Mason chore coat only hangs on the finest of hangers, kind sir. Either way, they reimbursed me the $5 my tailor charged to reattach the neck tag. I'm just praying that the rest of the seems don't burst in the next 4-6 weeks. read more

I wasn't planning on buying anything as I was just window shopping. That being said, I left with quite a few items. Not sure if there has been a change in personnel based on other Yelp reviews, but the two young men that helped me (as well as several other customers) were friendly and really helpful. That's probably why I ended up buying as much as I did. Will come back. read more

Bought 2 shirts and within months they look terrible.... basically are all tatty wrinkled/bacon necked and are a mess... if you look at the reviews you will see this is very common - buyer beware Also their customer service suggestion was that i buy a steamer!... so almost $100 for 2 T-shirts and then i need to spend more money on a steamer - quite a T-shirt investment! read more

Stopped by on 4/2. Employees were quite rude. They hovered over me while I felt the materials and checked out the styles. They were afraid I'd mess up their precious piles. They kept passive aggressively insisting that they can get sizes for me. Whenever I touched a pile, someone would essentially push me out of the way to immediately refold the pile. At one point I felt obligated to apologize for not folding items properly, expecting a friendly "no it's fine." Instead I was snapped at and reprimanded for my poor folding skills. Let me explain something. For a store like Buck Mason, which has a massive e-commerce presence, the entire point of a brick and mortar store is to let customers touch things!!! Coincidentally, while I was there, a different customer kindly told the employees that they were planning to buy something today, but they stopped by three times and were ignored. Rather than apologizing profusely, the customer was met with snarky responses. At that point, I dumped the items I was planning to buy and walked out. read more

Joined my brother on his shopping trip but I ended up shopping too! The worker who helped my brother with this exchange was kind enough to tell me about the different fabrics and fits. Maybe try to avoid the snobby blond who works there. A friend and I walked in (5/20/21 12:30 pm) intending to buy several items; in fact, we drove down specifically to buy from this store. Not sure what it was about us that made the sales associate have such a dismissive/ugly attitude toward us, but needless to say, we walked out and took our money elsewhere. If this were one of my employees, I would have a talk with her about company values, how you should treat anyone that walks through the door with the same amount of respect regardless of appearance. You never know who is walking into your establishment. It's 2021 may this employee should be working at a store with a less diverse demographics if she can't be polite to everyone. read more

The snobby blonde in a leather jacket referenced in the review a couple days ago strikes again! My husband and I went in there ready to buy and she completely ignored us. Avoided eye contact and was visibly annoyed when we asked for a size. She did however take a photo of a dog walking by the store--glad she isn't rude to everyone! Buck Mason Mgt., please read this review and the one before and do something about your employee. We did not buy anything today because of how poorly we were treated. Buck Mason fans, head to the Silverlake location if you want customer service and a pleasant shopping experience. read more

I ordered a chore jacket from them. Received a cheaply made in China jacket that was a bit short and certainly overpriced. They advertise free returns, however then they would charge you for the return. It is apparently a "no-return-customers" enterprise. Oh, and even Amazon returns your money the moment you drop your return at the UPS. Not Buck Mason though - they will take their time! read more

I've been seeing ad's for this place on instagram for a while now and eventually discovered that they have a couple of stores in LA. Went to the one on Abbott Kinney because I always prefer buying clothes in person rather than online. The store is great vibes, and the lady that was working that day was super cool and helpful. I love the styles of their shirts, and ended up buying one of their light-weight sweaters. It looks great, definitely one of my favorite wardrobe pieces. My only complaint is that the fabric does not hold up very well in the wash. I put it through one standard wash/dry cycle and it came out with multiple rips and tears. I would expect this to happen eventually, but not after just one wash.. especially for a relatively expensive garment. If you end up buying from this place, definitely consider hang-drying and washing on a delicate setting. read more

This review is for the women's Buck Mason that is across the street from the mens store but doesn't seem to be on yelp. I am sort of astonished how ill fitting and poorly designed the women's clothes are from this line, as the mens store is very popular and has well cut nicely designed clothes. I felt i tried on every thing in the store trying to find one piece worth getting that doesn't seem cut for a 12 prepubescent year old girl. They forgot to change the design to women's bodies. I had to return a horribly fitting dress and i couldn't find one item I wanted in there to exchange. Everything was really horribly cut and limited to colors like unflattering mud or lighter unflattering mud. I don't expect the women's shop to last long but I hope they hire better designers to create women's clothes for actual women's bodies. When you offer about three dresses or three pants how can none of them work? The mystery continues. read more

This company is all PR hype and I bought into it. I bought three t-shirts from them having liked the fit and colors. Wore them once and threw them in the wash along with all of my other t-shirts. Well, everything came out of the wash looking great except for exactly three t-shirts that had what looked like large oil stains on them... and all three were from Buck Mason. All my other shirts looked fine. If this had happened to one shirt, i would chalk it up to bad luck, but all three looked aweful after wearing and washing once. Don't buy. read more

Bought masks from Buck Mason as part of their, buy 5, donate 5 program. I actually bought 10 and donated 10, but after waiting for 2 months the shipment only contained 5 masks (thought the packing invoiced showed 10 were packed). 2 problems...very cheap quality (unwearable because the ear straps are so thin they tear your skin behind the ears)...and no refund for the other 5, just store credit. since I changed credit cards during the two month waiting period since I paid. Customer service takes a long time to respond and is very inflexible...so no more Buck Mason for me! Buyer beware! read more

Let me start off by providing some context: I shop here way too damn frequently. There's a parasitic relationship between the hours I spend at buck mason vs the health of my wallet/back account. That being said, I've never had a bad experience at this store. It has obviously grown a lot in scale, as Tracy is no longer the sole employee you'll find here monday-sunday, but all the new employees are awesome, friendly and super knowledgable. Their t-shirts, henleys, and knits are top notch, ESPECIALLY at their price point ($30 for MiUSA t-shirts? Come on.) The customer service has also been incredible. Anytime I have had any issue with a tee shirt, they've exchanged it for another product, no questions asked. Very excited to see how the brand continues to grow, as they've now begun dipping their feet into button downs, thicker knits (like cardigans) and even more outerwear! Highly rec. this brand and this Abbot Kinney location to anyone! read more

After some time, the Tshirts shrink, even washing cold and air drying. When starting to fill your wardrobe with Buck Mason products, you feel somehow like a more complete man; refined. Big fan of Buck Mason and their style & fit. The shirts are adequately priced; more expensive then your Target but less than your high end brands. Around the start of 2017 or so, they changed their sizing, much to my surprise, but customer service actually sent a new shirt with the right size free of charge right away. I also had a button fall off my Oxford shirt, and they sent me a gift certificate for my troubles. Some rough spots, but overall, I'm a Buck Mason fan! read more

I visited LA in January and noticed this little shop tucked on the corner of Venice and Abbott Kinney. We went in and were really surprised to see so much neat clothing in such a tiny place. I loved the photos on the walls that showed how the clothing is made. Nice touch. All the clothing in the store is handmade in the US, which I really liked. The prices were reasonable and I bought 3 of their t shirts for my fiancé and took a chance on their selvege-edged jeans. The salespeople in the store seemed friendly and the tall sales guy wearing a hat (I don't remember his name) took care of me and helped me with sizing. The jeans ended up being too big so I sent them back and they exchanged them for a smaller size within a week. (Listen to the salesperson - they know their stuff. I thought the larger size would fit better) I've washed the t shirts a few times and they didn't shrink or get bent out of shape like typical cheap ones do. My fiancé was so pleased with the shirts that we ordered 2 more. We had to wait a bit while they were being made, but that was OK. He now has "fresh off the press" shirts. The jeans are really sturdy denim and he has also worn them with his black t shirt and a sports jacket, which really looks nice. I haven't ordered their package sets yet online but will probably do so for my son. Good luck Buck Mason and let me know when you're going to start making ladies clothing! read more

I want to like this place... T shirts are good quality but are kind of lacking in the Sleeve length. Might be me as a taller slender fellow. Tried to exchange a pair of jeans they were very helpful in the exchange except that its been over a month. I mailed them to their downtown office and its been over a month to get the exchanged jeans. Have emailed them many times and its always a delay. How long does it take to have a pair of jeans exchanged? I live in LA and it should not take this long for a pair of jeans to simply be shipped locally. Not sure i would reccomend them. read more

In Store visit is stellar! Online? Not so much. We learned of these cats from their compelling stance on yet another of my affiliates productions, the mighty Shark Tank. The idea of source buying domestic merch truly peaked my interest and many of us ventured the wares. Excellent products, though a bit on the high end of the price side. The t shirts are insanely comfortable. Great washes and tones. Draping and fit, perfect. Not the usual "show your man nipples" type either..very good quality. Collared shirts? again comfort and quality...well made. Americana's work force does right. Khaki's? excellent washes, but what's up w/ assuming every consumer has stick legs? practice some range in fit, chaps. They are comfy but 5 out of 10 dudes trying on said their nut sack hurt when sitting in the dressing room. Great color range though and seem excellent in stitch quality. The jeans? Price may scare the living shit out of some but it's an excellent quality for selvedge. You do get what you pay for in selvedge (if that's your thing) and it's worth a try. Other companies offering selvedge denim are bestowing non traditional selvedge and passing it as authentic when it's not (no name's mentioned) BM get's it right..pure selvedge, no frills no lies, no bullshit. Customer service is top notch here at the Brick and Mortar and the sales folk were nothing but pleasant and offered face to face assistance. It's shocking since most of these start ups tend to employ the usual douche 'elite', but BM has amazing staff (in store). Online Catalogue? Numerous times we have had major top brass people (VIP's) wanting to try them out via online catalogue, and some only to be met with inconsistent mailing/shipping methods and customer service inquiry emails that fall on deaf ears and completely ignored...hmmmmm....not a good representation of customer service when you are a new company who's main objective in the Shark Pitch was endorsing online orders...we are not sure what's up with that. Again, excellent t shirts (GQ was right...it's exceptional) excellent customer care IN the store (not so much online) selvedge jeans? insanely good quality, from what it seems...again, see it in person. Exceptional staff, great down home American made goods...exactly what the owner's were envisioning (sans the seemingly non existent online customer service) In store? Fantastic experience. Online? Get it together. Worth a try (in store only, don't waste your key strokes online till they improve on that factor)...buttery soft t shirts, henleys, something amazing called Venice Wash, totally stellar tops....... read more

Alright fellas... this review is based on two parts: product and service. I'll preface everything by saying that I live in Atlanta, and my experience with Buck Mason was strictly over the phone, email, and online portal. The product is exceptional. I'm a big fan of the tees and jeans. I wanna say I have 6 items from them?? Maybe 7...idk. The important thing is that they are awesome. The service was exceptional as well. Here's the thing people need to understand; sometimes shit happens. Simple as that. One of the black tees I received had the tiniest hole in it. Oh well, no biggy. Shout out to Gerald who got on this right away. Sent me a new shirt asap (I had to provide a picture of course, and the tag was still on it). I see some people call out the company for poor service. Please see the above line "shit happens". Also, if you want to get a refund, an exchange, or any positive outcome out of a customer service related situation... here's a tip... don't be an asshole. Cheers, Chase read more

Ten months have elapsed since my last update and a lot has changed. As I sit here on October 12, I am no longer a true believer. BM was out of stock, starting in July, of a simple pair of jeans. They finally became available again Wednesday of last week. Shipped Thursday and since then has been in a postal facility for the 6 days. OK there was a holiday. Customer service since July has been optimistic and encouraging but ultimately inaccurate with their forecasts and unhelpful although they are but a messenger. No update to any review I've ever written has resulted in a 3 star penalty before, but a major problem has developed at Buck Mason, somewhere between capitalization, supply chain, distribution and fulfillment. Suffice it to say, this will likely be my final update and final order which is a shame, but even the best, locally sourced product in the world is flatly useless if it is unreasonably out of stock or unreliably or irregularly distributed. read more
