Unbelievably rude customer service at this store. The first time I visited, the salesperson was super pushy and lied to me about a sale being over but said that she could honor a sale price just to make the sale. I went home and checked online and the sale was still active. I went back to return a different pair of pants and in front of me, the sales person sniffed the pants, putting it up to her lipsticked face, went to talk to her manager, and then accused me of leaving a stain and wouldn't let me return. I am new to this brand and I am in live with this store! Strolling by the attractive window display pulled us in. I wanted everything... the fit and cut of all the items I tried on fit like they were made for me. Janice (Ruti stylist) was just a doll, so helpful and knows the Ruti line so well. Price point on all merch was great and on value of the clothing. Definitely a new go to brand. read more

First visit to Ruti was on my birthday three weeks ago; I have been back there twice in the past three weeks. Allisyn is the most wonderful person I have ever met in retail! Her customer service skills are beyond what you can imagine. She is very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about the merchandise. She spends time with her customers one-on-one which is very rare and you can tell she really enjoys what she does. She has listened very well to what I THOUGHT I was looking for, but also suggests items that push me past my comfort zone. Having been in the "Mom zone" for the last 30 years, I'm venturing out and she is helping me discover "me". Allisyn provides honest feedback. I never feel pressured and she sees what I would never see on me. I leave with items that make me feel "pre-Mom" and it's awesome. :) Working alongside her is Shane, who I met on visit #2. What a terrible experience. I bought a dress for my wife, but they didn't have it in stock and had to send it from another store. I specifically asked if we could get a refund if my wife didn't like it or it didn't fit, and the manager told me yes. Long story short my wife didn't like the dress and they wouldn't give me a refund. I emailed and called and they simply said no, we will only give you store credit. All they had to do was say: if you want a refund, buy it from the website! So easy! Especially since I had to wait a week to get the dress anyway! I feel like I got completely conned. I would never go to this store or recommend it to anyone. read more

Avoid this store for your health and safety and if you want to avoid being yelled at by rude staff! In a pandemic their unmasked employee got right into my face to button a collar without asking me first if it was ok. When I proceeded to tell her that I'm uncomfortable with her being unmasked inside and coming face to face with me she proceeded to yell at me that it was none of her business and that was an arrangement she made with her boss to be unmasked indoors. Well when your unmasked employee get face to face with your customers yes it is your customer's right to want to feel safe and not want an unmasked individual right in their faces during a pandemic!! And then to add further insult to injury for said employee to then yell at your customer is unacceptable! Will never shop here and will advise other locals to do the same. read more

I frequent this store often. Allisyn emails me when she finds things that she thinks will work for me, and helps me style the outfit. I've never had such a personalized experience. I've brought my friends because the clothing designs are unique and versatile. Ruti is a warm person and a savvy stylist, and I try to see her whenever she is in town. The clothing is more SF Bay Area than Southern California in style, but I'm kind of that way too. I've never had anything but friendly outstanding service--they even went so far as to Uber a dress for me to try from the Montana Avenue store. I love this store. I love the boho hipster styles, I love the fact that the clothes are Israeli, I love shmoozing with the sales staff. Well, the prices could be better, but that's Abbott Kinney for you. read more

A great cutting edge fashion hotspot that boasts an array of Tel Aviv designers. The aesthetic was east coast style with a laid back California edge. Jewelry, shoes, bags, and women's clothing. I enjoyed the stylist on staff, great personality. It's always awkward going into high-end stores where the staff is too bourgeoisie for their own good. I'm happily awaiting their store opening in New York's SoHo neighborhood next year! read more

I recently wandered into Ruti, just strolling down Abbott Kinney. Milah immediately approached and we went through the "no, no, I'm just looking". But she was so friendly, engaging, and warm, I thought I'd try some things on. I tried on the few things I liked on the hanger, but ended up buying all things Milah suggested. It was as though she knew me better than myself. I could have spent a lot more money, but then I'd be broke; however, the pieces I did buy are incredible. I never would have found them without Milah's keen eye and friendly smile. I will be back. read more

I was surprised to see such negative views of the store when mine was an entirely positive experience. I meandered in after a slice at Abbot's Pizza and accidentally found my new favorite store. The sales woman, Allisyn, was incredibly sweet and took the time to tell me about the store and it's owner. I love that all the clothes are from Tel Aviv, where Ruti (the owner) is from. She personally works with designers and production houses to create high quality, well tailored clothing. Allisyn helped me narrow my choices down and pick the item that was most unique but also the most versatile. I very much enjoyed my experience in the store and will remain a fan of this internationally-fashion-forward brand! read more

I thought the clothing looked weird on the hangers, and then the lovely sales girls put some ensembles together and helped me find the right size. You need to try the clothes on, and then they are magical! Unique but not trendy, quality fabrics and unusual but not weird styles. Pricey. Worth it. read more

I purchased a pair of shoes here about one year ago and returned them a few days after I purchased them only to realize that they do not give refunds ONLY STORE CREDIT and since there was not anything I wanted at the time they gave my credit to me on a gift card. I have been to the location since only once and i have been completely turned off by the pushy salesperson when I just wanted to look around to see if there was something I could use my gift card to purchase. On another occasion, not to be dismayed, I went to the store on Montana Avenue and although the door was wide open and the sales person was on the phone behind the counter, she had the nerve to tell me the store was closed! Fast forward to today, I still have this gift card and the original receipt that obtained the gift card and FINALLY i found something I like on the WEBSITE- but when I entered the gift card number for payment the website told me it was INVALID!!!! And of course I cannot call because their customer service number is only open M-F 9-5. They make it impossible to to do business and CHEAT THEIR CUSTOMERS. BEWARE of purchasing anything from this store. I am sure you can find better customer somewhere else! I am so fed up with this store. BAD RUTI BAD! read more

Ruti is one of my all time favorite places to stop by and I never fail to find the perfect something for any occasion.... All the ladies (Allison, Stephanie, Bonnie) are lovely and go above and beyond to help me with anything. Every time that I have a friend in town, I make sure to stop by and they too are equally impressed by the quality of the selection and the friendliness/helpfulness of everyone at Ruti. Not only are the designs unique and versatile, but there are a million ways to style any piece of clothing to fit your specific look or cater to any event. A truly out of the box approach and fantastic shopping experience always. If you look at the reviews for the other RUTI stores on Yelp, you will see a much less flattering picture of the company. Their return policy borders on unethical. I purchased several thousand dollars worth of clothes (which, by the way, didn't include that many pieces). Some of the clothes had to be shipped, and when I received one of the blouses, it had make-up stains all over it! It was a $300 shirt and it was covered with oily stains in several places. I had some issues with some of the other pieces as well, so I attempted to return them. But I was told they don't "do" refunds, just store credit. When I advised the sales person that I wasn't told that , she told me it was on their "sign". The sign is in front of the cash register, and is so small, you couldn't read it without glasses and picking it up to bring it close to you. They certainly don't point it out to you when you are shopping there. Then she said "it's also on the receipt". Well guess what, you only get the receipt after you already paid, so what sense does that make?? I was never told what the policy was when I purchased the clothes, which is particularly troubling given the prices. They were very nice to me when I was spending a lot of money, but the sales person who I dealt with during the attempted return process was rude. She kept saying they were a small company and couldn't "afford" to do returns. That is ridiculous. I will never shop at this store again and I will tell everyone I know not to shop there as well. A designer friend recommended the store originally, but now that she knows about their return policy (which they didn't tell her either), she is no longer recommending them to clients either. This is only the second review I have every posted, but I felt so strongly about how wrong their return policy is, I had to take the time to tell others. read more
