Just went in to pick up the newly released Pascual jacket! I absolutely adore this jacket. It's my go to for my morning dog walks and errands. Couldn't find my size online (I mostly shop online or buy from Saks to save on shipping) so I texted and place one on hold. (Luckily, they had my size!) It was a super simple process and the ladies working there were all lovely. I had great service and it was an all around pleasant visit. I highly recommend this store and brand. read more

Why do the employees act like they're working at Brandy Melville? At least at Brandy you can kind of forgive the teenage girls who don't want to be working there - but the women who work at the Brentwood Doen shop are old. Old with weird, muted, nonchalant, adolescent girl attitudes. Yay, Doen has only 1 store in the entire USA, and it is in my backyard here in the Santa Monica Brentwood Country Mart. I pop in here once in a while because close by. This brand is inspired by maternity wear so the sizes are big. They do make XXS, but I am hoping that they will make XXXS so I can buy more. Doen makes comfy clothes. It is perfect for fighting this awful Covid that we are facing (pun intended)...haha. If you are ever in LA, you should stop by. People working here are extra extra nice. Very unfriendly service, they make it feel as though you're inconveniencing them. There was a customer in the dressing room next to me asking an employee for a smaller size; the employee goes, "you couldn't go a size smaller, it would be too small on you". I could tell the customer was offended--I would be too! She knows what fits her best, not the employee who was clearly just trying to sell her on an over priced item that didn't fit her well. read more

It was my birthday this last Saturday and let me tell you how excited I was to visit the Brentwood store in person. I have been longing to own something from Doen and have obsessed over the website for a long time. My birthday was going to be that day. I walked into the store to see four females standing there. No one made eye contact or spoke a word to me. My thoughts were maybe they would after their conversation. Nope, all four of your employees paid me no mind as if I did not exist. After about ten mins I asked a quick question, I had noticed on one tag as I was looking for care instructions for a dress that it was made in China. So I said, "I didnt know any of your clothes came from china" addressing someone that was walking by me. She got defensive and told me I was wrong, their clothes do not come from china, so I showed her the one tag as she didn't believe me. She told me, it's just that one dress and walked away. It was such an unsettling response and so absolutely unfriendly. At this point, still no one acknowledges our existence in the store. We felt incredibly unwelcomed and judged. Maybe they thought I couldn't afford to shop there, maybe they judged me for some other reason. Either way they decided I wasn't worth their time or energy to be welcomed. Simple manners I guess are hard to come by. I was so upset to be treated that way by a brand who is about supporting woman and community. How dare you add more foul judgment and rudeness to the world. It's already a hard place to exist in this world but you and your employees enjoy treating others this way. I made my way to another store because it was my birthday and I wasn't going to allow Doen to ruin my day. I had a beautiful experience in another store at the country mart. I mentioned my experience at Doen and they told me they hear that ALL the time. Shame on you and whatever practices you have built into your business. The world doesn't need you to make them feel bad about themselves. I was truly saddened by my experience. I had looked forward to that day and shopping. I hope your values can change or you do a training of how to treat people with respect when they are shopping for 300 dollar tops. You would think that's common sense to treat people with respect. It starts from the top down. It makes me believe it's probably a lot of people's experience in all your stores if they are deemed not rich enough. What a disappointment. read more

Love this brand and finally visited the Brentwood store to try on some items I had been considering. The girls working the shop were so helpful and sweet and quick on getting new sizes when I asked. The shop was busy but they were super patient with my questions. Loved the experience and vibe in the store and will be back! read more

The clothing is great, hence the two stars. The service was honestly the worst I have ever experienced in the US. I ask to try on a dress bc I wasn't sure of my size. I am 5'7" and 120 lbs and usually wear a small. The girl looked at me and said you're a medium, no need to try on. So I bought a $395 cotton dress in a medium that I was discouraged from trying on. It's HUGE! I honestly need an xsmall and that may even be too big. They treated me like an ogre who didn't deserve their attention. I now own a giant dress that will cost at least $100 to alter. An absolutely beautiful store with such a kind staff. I'm always greeted when I enter and they are always so sweet to my children. They even have a little basket of toys which I really appreciate. Their clothing is beautiful and so well made, and Incan always find some that fits me and that I love. I've been a customer for years and especially love shopping in person at the store in Brentwood. Save your hard-earned dollars. I have ordered from them many times and ended up returning. The sizing is confusing and their pieces are inconsistent in terms of quality. The thing that will keep me away though for good is that their customer service is atrocious and their policies are very unfriendly. And frankly the quality of their clothes have taken a nose dive in recent years. By way of further example regarding their customer service I decided to use their "HandMeDoen" service so that I could move on from a gently worn dress. They said that the dress had been "clearly altered" but the him was just tacked up and could have been let down again easily. I told them I would gladly pay for them to return it to me so that I could do this myself, but they absolutely refused and said that they would "be responsible for repurposing it" - which is such nonsense and meaningless to me. So now I am out an expensive dress and will never purchase from the brand again. read more

I was so incredibly excited to stop into Doen because we live out of state but was completely turned off by the awful customer service. This was not my first time at this location. I have purchased dozen of items in-store and online. I've never written a bad review but the way I felt leaving this store was truly a first. When my husband I first walked in there was no acknowledgment even though there were 4 employees standing right in front. I had a few items in my hand when someone offered to start me a fitting room (hence the reason for 2 stars). I browsed around a bit more then told another employee I was ready to try on and she looked annoyed saying she didn't know what I had. I finally got into my room and not once did someone come check to see if I needed anything. I walked out and asked another employee if they had additional sizes in a particular style and they didn't and in a very condescending manor she said "at least you tried". I left feeling so inferior and unwelcome into a store that I have loved for years. read more

Great, unique and timeless clothing. I love everything I have received from Doen and am really glad to have found it. That said, I think they overcharge for shipping and it takes FOREVER. Like, weeks. I have received orders from European companies faster than this. I don't really know what their justification is for charging so much for shipping and then not shipping in a timely fashion but it's the way it is. So, definitely check them out online but be prepared to wait. I haven't been to any of the physical locations as I am in Chicago. read more

Local L.A. brand founded by two sisters and staffed by a collective of women. All of their clothing are ethically made and sustainable. Their style is bohemian - think little house on the prairie; it's feminine with a modern twist. Their price point is very high and rarely do they have sales. Honestly their style isn't for me and I'm not their target customer, but I like the brand bc they are environmentally conscious and practice good ethics. Sometimes they'll have sweaters that I like that look normal sans the plantacian vibe. I currently have two of them: lulu and mulberry. Both are from several seasons ago and are made with wool and alpaca blend and handknitted by Peruvian artisans using fair trade practices. The sweaters are so simple, stylish, classic and high quality! I know I'll have them forever. read more

Nothing but problems with this company! Several months ago attempted to purchase an item that was listed as "in-stock" online only to be informed later on that it was sold out. Now, after purchasing a different item, I discover that the sizing is only suitable for a child! Clearly, this company is poorly managed, and quality is poor. Shop elsewhere! read more

Beautiful clothes. Horrible HORRIBLE customer service. How they act is a complete disconnect from the happy, feel-good vibe of the website. I ordered a blouse from them and then immediately had to cancel the order. Called (during their hours) no one ever answered. E-mailed. Called again, left a message. E-mailed again. No one ever contacted me. A day after my last e-mail and phone message they shipped the package anyway. Days passed, they never did call or e-mail. Never ever followed up. Sent it via Fedex. So I decided I would refuse the package. Fedex has the package marked as delivered but I never got it. Fedex is now trying to trace the package. So I don't have the blouse, I don't have the money, and I certainly don't have a callback or a message from Doen. 30 seconds saying something like "we're so sorry to hear that" would have gone a long way to keeping me as a customer and ensuring future orders. This was a very well-appointed storefront. The clothes are very feminine and ruffley. Flowy tops and long dresses, which is quite refreshing from the plethora of skinny jeans or tight tops. The store is light and airy with the beiges making it warm and inviting. They were closing soon so I didn't want to take too much time but there were a few pieces that caught my eye I will definitely go back for a closer look. read more

My partner purchased a $275 dress for me from them in August of 2020. A month came and went. We emailed them three times. No reply. Finally, we found out that the dress was never even in the warehouse. We wouldn't have known this unless he called them three times. (They finally answered the third time.) We then had to wait 10 business days to receive our refund. To compensate they offered me a 20% discount on my next purchase. Yeah. Like I'm gonna trust them to try and order from them again. Not. I highly suggest to anyone that if they would like to own a Doen dress, buy a used one. These people don't deserve anyone's business. read more
