Mick has a unique way of providing a more aggressive shape to the inserts that completely alleviates the pain when I use them for my typical activities - be it running, weightlifting, basketball, or just walking around. There is a chance that they provide some level of 'discomfort' prior to being broken in, as your feet, and muscles, are adjusting to a completely new position.
