Breakfast burrito
Beth L.

On my way to LA from San Diego and I wanted to stop in Oceanside so I YELPED breakfast burrito and this place popped up. What a find! It is located within a park's parking lot right across from a small beach. I was in heaven. Beautiful sunny warm morning. The menu is amazing. I got the soyrizo burrito and an iced latte. I sat at the bar facing the ocean. The burrito is huge! I ate half. It was delicious! Egg, cheese, fries and vegan chorizo- tasty!! The cashier was cheerful and friendly. Definitely a favorite locals spot as there was a steady stream of customers. If I was a resident this would definitely would be my go to! Good food, great atmosphere- the beach and good customer service. T

I love this place! I've been here several times now. To me, it's like a hidden gem with a very California vibe! You can sit outside and have the ocean view with a breeze right across the street. The parking is easy in the lot behind it. Otherwise, on the narrow streets parking can be challenging. My favorite burrito so far has been the vegan one with rice! The lattes here are pretty good too. Usually, restaurants have good food, but mediocre coffee. This place has both good food and coffee. I especially like their Cubano espresso! Service is friendly and fast! My dog loves it here too! If you're looking for a simple coffee and burrito- this is the place! Love it!

I mean, how can you not love this place?! Prime real estate, the portions are huge and service is friendly and quick! We touched down at the airport and this was our first stop, completely the opposite direction to where we were staying but 100% worth it, a SoCal decision I'll make each time. Do you need this amount of food daily? Nope. Will your body crave it when you're back home warming up your coffee and eating packaged oatmeal? Absolutely

Nothing bad to say about this little beach side cafe. Can't beat the location, plenty of parking, friendly workers and good food. There are a lot of gluten free options, vegetarian as well, many coffee coffee choices and smoothies. This this place can appease the most discerning. Love the Buccaneer Cafe.

CA burrito with fries on the side

Great service though the line was long and steady. Being that they are super close to the beach and rv park they get a lot of business so I wanted to try it due to the line and menu. Ordered the California Burrito and was underwhelmed. The steak was the type that TacoBell, definitely not "carne" as listed. The fries (ordered on the side bc I'm a fry purist) were great with their spices and ketchup. Not too sure what way the salsa provided was going tho. It was giving Franks and Ketchup and Pace. If you're starving this'll do. If you want something good or Mexican style burritos I'd look elsewhere. Also, had a bit of my husbands kitchen sink burrito with soyrizo (seasoned tofu) and it was ok too. The coffee selections were perfect tho.

I really wanted to like The Buccaneer because of all the hype, but honestly... it fell flat for me. I ordered the soyrizo Buc Muf and the soyrizo burrito, and both really lacked seasoning. The flavors just weren't there, and everything tasted pretty plain. The line was also so long, which made the wait feel even worse considering the food didn't deliver. In my opinion, it's definitely overhyped. The staff was nice, but you could tell they were stressed trying to manage the constant line. It is a very tiny place. It's all outdoor, you order and pick up through a window. Overall, not the worst experience, but definitely not worth the wait.

Incredible spot with great views, amazing food and excellent service. They gave us a free coffee refill and we loved the breakfast taco and burrito.

My fur baby and I stopped in on our morning walk for a coffee. The prices are reasonable, coffee is good and the staff is super friendly. This is located right across the street from the beach so you can grab some food and something to drink and be at the beach in two minutes or less. I haven't tried any of the food yet but it does look really good I highly recommend stopping on in if you're in Oceanside and coming to the beach

One of my best friends took us here for breakfast. Unfortunately we showed up at 10:30 and the line was long. It wasn't so bad as the beautiful beach views and friendly people in line made the long wait bearable. BC does have some outdoor table seating but the beach is like 25ft across the street. Plenty of so cal beach vibes to enjoy these deliciius tacos. And delicious they were!!! If I had to pick one the Carne Asada was my slight favorite. The seasoning was just so good. The portions are large so you don't go away hungry. The other menu items are just as amazing from what I hear as well. If you want a yummy breakfast taco with some kicking beach views BC is your jam.

If you're anywhere near Oceanside, do yourself a favor and stop by this spot. It's a casual order-at-the-window setup, which makes it perfect for a laid-back beach morning. I ordered the California breakfast burrito with kalua pork, and wow--easily one of the most delicious burritos I've had. The flavors were incredible, perfectly balanced, and just ridiculously satisfying. I'm honestly a little sad I'm just visiting because I know I'm going to be craving this long after I leave. I paired it with a Mexi mocha, which was also fantastic--rich and comforting, with that nostalgic Abuelita chocolate vibe that makes it feel extra special. On top of the amazing food, the service was super sweet and impressively fast. And the view? You really can't beat enjoying your meal right by the beach. All around, an unforgettable casual breakfast experience. I'll definitely be thinking about that burrito for a long time.

Looking for something close to the Body Shop I was at, and thankfully, this place wasn't too far away. As soon as I arrived, there was a line for this place. Must be good for it to have a line. The wait time was around 15 minutes (more or less), but it was worth the wait. I looked at the menu; they added fries to the breakfast burrito! Excuse me! I HAD to order one, and boy, it did not disappoint! The eggs were fluffy, they had guac, and there were all types of meat choices. Most importantly, the fries were super crispy under all of that in the burrito! I ended up halfing the burrito because I thought it would be too much, but it was the complete opposite. I'll order a whole burrito next time I'm in the area! Excellent burrito!

The ambience is only ONE of the many great features of this outdoor beach cafe . Situated across from Tower 11 and the ocean, even a gray day doesn't diminish it. We shared the Privateer açaí bowl which filled us up until dinner! And Ssoooo dang delicious ! We didn't have to wait terribly long for our order, the wait is one of those things you understand when you're getting terrific food. 10 outta 10 an Oceanside gem and should definitely be on your to-do go to's when you come here.

Beach Break Café totally nails the Oceanside beach vibe. Laid-back, minutes from the water, with genuinely great service. Then there's the food. I was hanging 10 on a fluffy omelette stuffed with tender shrimp, scallops, creamy avocado, and melted cheese. Every bite was rich, fresh, and ridiculously good. Not to mention the side potato pancake, a meal in itself! And the pancakes? Big, pillowy, melt-in-your-mouth fluffy. The French toast was golden on the outside, soft and almost custardy in the middle. Basically, breakfast had no business being this good. After 5/6 years between visits, I think I waited long enough. This is definitely a wave I'd ride again!

It's such a fantastic, family-friendly location with a lively atmosphere and great local energy. The service was wonderfully attentive and made us feel right at home. For my main meal, I went with a veggie omelet and added hot links. I initially thought adding the hot links might be a bit too much, but it turned out to be the perfect combination! Next time, I'll just make a mental note to ask for no mushrooms, and the tomatoes were a bit heavy for my preference, but overall it was delicious. I also grabbed a side of bacon, which was cooked just right. Now for the highlight of the meal: the omelet usually comes with a side of toast, and I was torn between that and their famous coffee cake. I originally ordered the toast, but as soon as our server stepped away, I had a change of heart and asked to swap it for the coffee cake. I am so glad I did! It came out with an amazing warm crust, wonderful texture, and delicious frosting. If you aren't a big fan of heavy sweets, the frosting might be a little rich, but for a treat, it was incredible! Tips: When you pull up and park, keep in mind that the main entrance isn't right where you park--it's actually located on the other side near the street light corner. If you're debating between toast or the coffee cake, go for the coffee cake! You can always ask for the frosting on the side if you prefer it a bit less sweet. It's family-friendly, but easily works for a date night too. Drinks were alcohol-forward and well made. Mine was similar to a very well-crafted old fashioned. For appetizers, we had the oysters and the pea soup. The oysters were very good, though the greens mixed in made them a bit tricky to swallow whole. The pea soup, on the other hand, was delicious. For mains, my wife had the sea bass and I had the pork schnitzel. My wife raved about the sea bass, saying it tasted a league or two above what the price would suggest. My schnitzel was equally delicious -- perfectly deep-fried, with vegetables on the side that cut nicely through the richness.
