My girls and I had the little bubble puffs (first time was with chocolate and second time plain) they are perfectly sweet, not over doughy, and expect a great portion. We also had the teriyaki chicken plate which came with steamed rice, corn, and salad. Came here to try the puffs. The regular flavor is definitely the best, matcha was so-so. Definitely eat it when it's fresh so it's warm and crispy. You get to pick toppings to add for a fee. The regular boba milk tea was 4/5 and uji matcha latte boba was 3/5. Boba was a perfect texture but the tea I wasn't a fan of. I will say I'm not fond of the ordering system- it's a kiosk but no descriptions of the items other than the name. I wish they could just let us order verbally as it is easier for the customer. I walked in here because I had ordered dumplings next door and have always wanted to try their tea. My go to is always peach oolong tea but most places make it with oolong tea and add a bunch of sugary peach syrup to flavor it. I HATE that because I don't like sweetened teas. I want to taste high quality tea with natural fragrance. The employee told me their tea was made without sugar so I excitedly ordered it. The popcorn chicken is also a solid choice, albeit slightly dry. I got my tea and it was PERFECTION. The oolong taste was lovely and the fragrance of the peach was strong. It's incredibly rare to find a good true peach oolong so I hope this place stays here forever. I'm wishing them all the success!! The staff highly recommended their matcha latte. She told me their matcha is imported from Japan and I was surprised because I know that is pretty expensive. And I could tell it is definitely not a cheap matcha powder because of the taste and the color. I love this cafe. I come here to study after class or before class and it's honestly such a cute place to study with your friends. One thing I wish was better though is the space. It's a cute cafe, but it's pretty small and the tables are small too. It's in a way uncomfortable to study with two people. Also, I realized some part of their cafe is really messy like boxes everywhere. Also, It's hard to get a seat if you come late. This place is tucked away so sometimes I forget about it. It's right next to PCC, so I believe it might be a good spot for students. Pasadena has had an uprise in boba places in the last few years. Bubble Puff and Tea is still higher on the list of all these new places. All these shops have opened but few of them have decent popcorn chicken. I would say maybe 4 of them have popcorn chicken and the only 2 that taste good are Bubble Puff and Prolece. I will say that I can't find any place in Pasadena that has popcorn chicken that tastes like true Taiwanese chicken with 5 spice, but these will do. The only reason why I'm giving them a 4 instead of a 5 is because sometimes their chicken is inconsistent. For example, once we got it and the chicken had no seasoning and just tasted like we were eating fried chicken pieces..almost like nuggets. However, when they do get it right - the chicken combo with rice is nice and hearty! The drinks here are really nice. My favorite drink of theirs is their avocado smoothie. There are also many places that can't make a good avocado smoothie but theirs is soooo good! I can't resist ordering it. They also make very tasting egg waffles. They offer 3 different flavors: Original, Matcha and Chocolate at a base price of $5, then additional $ if you want fillings and toppings. The textures are definitely there however the biggest letdown for me was the flavor. It was fairly bland and not at all sweet. Would have preferred if it was slightly sweeter 3.5/5 Strawberry Sunrise ($5) - if you like coconut milk, then I highly recommend this refreshing drink!
