A friend and I dined here before seeing a concert at the nearby Long Beach Amphitheater. Reservations can be made on OpenTable. They will validate parking in the garage next door for two hours, which helps reduce the parking cost if you're walking to a show or the aquarium. They have a large patio in front with umbrellas covering the tables, several different dining areas inside, and a bar area. They also have a merchandise shop near the entrance. We had a few rounds of Bulleit Old Fashioneds during our meal ($14 each). They were good sized pours, and were served with a few Luxardo cherries in the glass. I had the Shrimper's Heaven (fried shrimp, coconut shrimp, tempura shrimp, fries, Cajun marmalade, tempura sauce, $28.49). I liked the variety of shrimp which were all cooked well, and none of it was oily. It was served on a large bed of fries that I couldn't finish. The sauces were also good. My friend had the Jambalaya (Shrimp, Chicken, Andouille Sausage, Tasso Ham, Bell Peppers, Onions, Steamed Rice, Tomatoes, Green Onions, $24.49). He loved his plate and there wasn't a single grain of rice left. My only gripe is that the kitchen was a little slow. It was a Saturday afternoon around 4:30pm and while the restaurant was pretty busy, it was nowhere near prime time. Our entrees took almost 30 minutes to arrive. All other aspects of service were good, and our server Lesly was very friendly. I liked that each table has a license plates that you can flip to indicate If you need something. Blue means no help requested, and red means service please. I flipped it to red towards the end of our meal to request the bill, and a server come to our table almost immediately. Overall, we had a good meal, prices were reasonable for the area, and the location was convenient for our evening plans.

BUBBA GUMP SHRIMP COMPANY in Long Beach, California is a peaceful restaurant by the Pacific Ocean on the exterior BUT a high energy party in side. Fast paced and friendly staff members, fun decor, a retail shop and great food! I checked in with the hostess who was standing at a little umbrella station by the entrance of the restaurant and asked if I could eat at the bar. And that was ok. I sat at the bar and was greeted by a cool bartender who was making drink orders for the waiters. He took my order which was a gin & tonic, the delicious bowl of Mama Blue's Shrimp Gumbo and some Garlic Bread to dip it in! One minute there were a few customers and the next minute it was packed in the restaurant and busy at the bar. It was amazing seeing the busyness and helpfulness of the waiters, bartenders and managers This place is and has amazing energy!

Won't return to this restaurant. Terrible service with overpriced food. 6 people in our party and had a reservation at 6:30PM. Arrived at 6:15PM. Many empty tables but was not seated until 7PM. We were directed to a booth seating but we preferred a table. The "manager" asked us to get up because we were at a table for 10. He may need that table. He then directed us to an outside table that seats 10! The whole time we were there, no one sat at that inside table. The service was terrible. Took a long time for drinks and food. One of our order never arrived. Won't patronize this restaurant again!

Service was great, and the food is pretty standard for Bubba Gump. We got shrimp and crab. We got there before the lunch rush, as it is right near the aquarium, so the afternoon gets busy. I have been to Bubba Gump in Bmore, so I always appreciate the quirky decoration. The price...well it is a tourist area, so it is higher, and it is California, so there is that. lol. Worth the meal though..

I came here for a day of trot with my Dad. First time trying Bubba Gump at this place and was a bit disappointed. Food was delicious but service needs to improve, the server forgot the silverwares after the main dish arrived. I needed to stand up and ask any server that was there . No one came over to ask for refills of our iced tea and/or if we needed anything else lol It was not busy at all, we came for a late lunch or better yet Happy Hour. I liked the inside decorations and signs posted around the walls, I took some on my camera for keepsake, so cool!

Stopped by to try this place. I was expecting bit more. The service was great and friendly. The place is clean and well themed. The food on the other hand I feel needed a little more. I personally would mind skipping this place.

PROS: Delicious Food, beautiful atmosphere and service was impeccable CONS: You're eating seafood so the cost is around the $25-$30 range oh and if you're parking by the Aquarium there is validation but you're still going to pay $8. Experience: Let me just ask for Alexis our server, was so quick with it! They have these signs to turn if you feel like they're not coming at all to your table and I we didn't even need to use it, not ONCE. The drinks were so affordable and delicious, I recommend getting at least one round. Don't bother getting the Dippin Broth if you're sharing as a group of 3 or more there's not enough of it, this includes the Trash Bag with Lobster. HOWEVER grab the Shrimper's Heaven!! Ugh it was so good! Oh and Shrimp and Crab rolls were a nice balance of fresh and light to counteract the heaviness of the fried foods. I'm trying the calamari and ceviche next time! OVERALL: Amazing time, and if you have a chance to come during Golden Hour then ask to be seated outside!

Came here for some shrimp, items we got were good, but not great. At least not for the price tag. The fried shrimp brisket was decent. The jambalaya was good, but needed hot sauce to make it better. The shrimp mac & cheese is probably our favorite and it was also considered an appetizer. Came with free drink cups, but for the price they're basically paid for them. The place is very nostalgic and takes you back in time.

Stopped into this location of the popular seafood restaurant for lunch on a busy Sunday in downtown Long Beach. The food was good and the service was excellent. Bubba Gump has 21 national locations and 11 international ones, with 6 in California (including the very first one in Monterey in 1996, founded soon after the release of the movie 'Forest Gump' in 1994). I think I've visited three of them (Santa Monica, Times Square, and the now-closed one in Navy Pier Chicago), but strangely never this location that I could just walk to. Traffic was just crazy in this area (typical Sunday that was exacerbated by the Vans Warped Tour happening nearby), so happy that I walked. I put down my name for one at the check-in area around noon, with a promise of 15 minute wait. Sure enough, I got a page on my phone saying it was my time at the 15 minute mark. It's a large restaurant with a lot of dining space, so pretty sure I was the first to sit at my table for the day...pretty sure they were spacing out seatings for the kitchen's sake. Cameron was our waiter, and he was really attentive and cordial. I was planning just to try their gumbo (always been meaning to), but ended up getting a main dish (available because of their 30 year anniversary celebration). The food came out hot, right after it had been plated, soon after I ordered. Mama Blue's Shrimp Gumbo ($11.99 for a bowl) was OK: presented really well, and it wasn't too dark, cooked too long like sometimes gumbo can get. But maybe it was too fresh, with the ingredients being put together right before serving. Lt. Dan's Drunken Shrimp ($29.99) was decent, and it actually looked better than the picture on the menu (which might be a first). The 7 tail-on shrimps had been cooked well, first over an open flame, then presented on top of stone-ground grits with really good onion strings and a dark bourbon sauce. It came with pieces of andouille sausage, which tasted too much like ham to me. The place was hopping on a Sunday afternoon, and the team of servers and cooks were keeping up in this well organized display. I was done well under an hour, and appreciated the thanks by Cameron and the hostess as I walked into the humid, sunny day.

As soon as we sat down our server, Face, was extremely warm, friendly, and quick in helping us choose our drinks and meals. Every time he came by our table he checked in on us and made sure we were doing ok. The weather was perfect today but we decided to eat inside where there was plenty of space and seating for five comfortably. Our Michelada and margarita were delicious and our shrimp, crab, chicken, pasta, hush puppies, and queso dip were amazing. Thank you Face and thank you Bubba Gump Shrimp for an epic afternoon in Long Beach.

The server So called !! Face !! ! Huge shoutout to Bubba Gump! From the moment we sat down at our super clean table, the vibe was pure joy. The music is nice and relaxed, making it so easy to chat, and our server had the best sense of humor-such warm, funny, and incredible energy! The kitchen blew us away. Everything came out fresh, perfectly hot, and prepared with love. That burger was dripping with juiciness, and those french fries were hands-down THE BOMB-real, fresh potato flavor at its finest. Thank you for such an awesome meal and amazing hospitality!

That's the digestive tract or poop Vein in the shrimp. I ate part of it
    Dorothy K.

Service was average. My child enjoyed her kids cheese pizza. I ordered a combo with salmon and shrimp. The butter sauce was pretty salty and some of the shrimp had the poop vein and I personally don't like that part. So it was gross. I also asked for salad instead of rice so I could gwr brocolli and salad as my side. It came with rice and they brought the salad. No brocolli. Anyway, I only come here cuz my kids like it. The atmosphere is fun. If it wasn't for my kids I wouldn't spend money here.

Booth the food and drinks were nice. This visit, we stopped by in the afternoon just as happy hour was starting. There was a good amount of people already inside which could be that in between lunch rush and beginning of happy hour. Getting a table was a cinch as we were seating right away on the patio. It is pet friendly which is also nice. Layout of the restaurant is, majority of the seating is outdoor which is covered. There's the dining area inside the restaurant which is pretty small, another patio to the side of that as well as the private room to the side for more of an intimate experience. Mainly the front patio and bar area tends to be the busiest. Staff were all amazing and friendly which is a major plus. Nobody wants to come an establishment where service is snooty and rude. Everyone was a major doll and the sweetest. Our waiter, I didn't get his name was the sweetest. As it was HH, they only had that menu available. Limited but still decent for what was offered. A good selection in cocktails items and for the price, they were great. As for food, same with limited items but pricing was great. They're known for the Mac and cheese with hot Cheetos as pretty much loads of the tables had ordered it. We've had it prior but this time opted out on it. Started off with one of their sangria which comes either red or white and an old fashioned. Both on the HH menu and very reasonable for 7.00 a pop. Cant beat that. Sangria was quite refreshing with the fruit slices while the old fashioned, it was strong. Actually worth it for 7.00. Food, a mixture of things to share. An order of their fries with parsley and rosemary with an aioli sauce for dipping, 8.00. The braised cheddar brat with house mustard, caramelized onions, Calabrian chili with basil and shallot for 11.00. Quite tasty and flavorful with all the topping and served in a nice roll. The chicken sandwich which was quite big. Fried chicken with cheddar and American cheese, chef sauce, pickles on a benne seed bun for 11.00. And lastly the attic cheeseburger with new school American cheese, pickles, grilled onion aioli, caramelized onions on a benne seed bun cooked medium for 12.00. It was tasty but between that and the chicken sandwich, chicken takes the leads. Pricewise for the sandwiches was great. Everything is à la carte on the menu. They do have other main dishes but we just stuck to the sandwiches. Also a second round of drinks was had. The mango margaritas and the classic. Both tasty and for 7.00 a pop, can't beat that. The whole experience was great. Service was excellent and all the staff were amazing. Patio seating is great as it's perfect for people watching and enjoying the outdoor. Until next time.

Can't complain about that but I went there about 530 on a Sunday. It was busy. I ordered my food and waited and waited and waited. 45 minutes into waiting for my order they told me it would be right out. 15 minutes later my order still wasn't ready. I spoke to the owner and he told me that I came on a bad day because Sunday was his busiest day to which I replied that shouldn't have made a difference. Secondly, he said it was a startup and they were just getting used to doing business and I said that was not acceptable also. He said do I want my money? I said yes, which led me to believe that my order was not even put in yet. I would love for this place to make it but excuses like that should not be made. If he had said I'm sorry, but he didn't. He kept saying it was a busy day. It was a busy day, which shouldn't have made a difference to me. I hate that I have to give this one star because the food is not the problem. It's the ordering of the food. I was not rude. As a business owner you don't take criticism very well. I did not raise my voice but making excuses doesn't bode well in business. I've been to every Halloween pop up, they have been doing this for 2 years now. I was there on Sunday 10/04 and had the MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. First, it started at the enterance. My reservation was at 3:45pm. Security checked our ID's and then asked us if we had a reservation. He asked us to wait in line. We were the first ones in line with a reservation anyways and figured we would have to wait just like the others who were still waiting for their 3:30 reservation. No biggie. But. then a much larger group came and stood in front of us who had a 4pm reservation. We didn't think much of it and were waiting patiently until 3:30 and 4pm were called up first and seated before us. It wasn't even 4pm yet! Made security aware of his mistake and we barely got an apology. I let it go and still had to wait more time to be seated. So then we get seated, it takes 30 mins to just get water. No one has came around to take our order or say they will be with us in a few, nothing. As we are waiting another party of 2 come and sit next to us. They waited half the time and were helped before us!!! Welp, it gets worse you just wait. We get our food first, still no drinks. Drinks got there much later. Well, I started to eat my food cause I didn't want it to get cold. Not time to wait for drinks water will do. I bite into my pot pie it was barely warm. I decide to keep eating it until i got to end of the bite and that's when i got cold juice and the dough was mushy. I made the waitress aware (she had just taken over our table) and she put in another order. Not even 5 mins later, I get my second order. I noticed one bit was a little burnt on top but whatever at this point i'm not trying to ruin the experience for my friend. I go to pull apart my 2 bites and i notice the reason why they were stuck. The dough was RAW and the chicken inside was FROZEN. I had my friend poke it because i was shocked and couldn't belive this BS. Called the waitress over she was really sorry and i showed her how i couldn't even cut into the chicken and you could see the ice on the chicken. She offered to bring out another order but I was done. I didn't want to be disrespected yet again by this establishment. She said she would have the manager come talk to me. I didn't really care to do so but he came. He came to the table a little strong and aggressive. Telling me he actually touched the bite and it was WARM. My friend and I sat there SHOCKED! We all poked it and felt it ICE COLD!!!! So, basically calling me a liar to my face. He's telling me he will get another order out, I refused. I told him I would only pay for the 2 drinks and 1 order of the pot pies. He kept going on about how it was only the second day and he didn't hire enough staff and blah blah blah. I don't mind waiting i'm okay with that. But when others are seated before me and waited before me, then the food went from cold to FROZEN. I have a damn problem. He should've saved his "apology", if you can call it that. He did cover our 3 items which was the least he would do after all disrespect i've endured. I sat there waiting for my friend to finish her food and we finished drinks and left. Cindy our waitress took over after the first waitress left to lunch. She was really nice and none of this was her fault. I asked if I could tip her and she refused and said we didn't have to. I wanted to so I did. I insisted! At this point, the manager came around the corner and i could hear him on her about the tip. I had to intervene and tell him I WANTED TO DO THIS FOR HER. He was really out of line with her!!! She was trying to explain to him that i insisted on tipping and he was not listening to her! Get a new manager. This guy is not a people person. He's a gaslighting individual who has now cost you loyal customer. Days ago I get one of your loyal customer emails. Nice way of treating your loyal customers. P.S. It was very obvious who they wanted to seat & serve first and it wasn't the Latina and Black girl.

Here you actually have an option to sit at some tables. Decided to snack a little before packing the rest home. The fish is freshly made to order. Seasoned very well, tartar sauce definitely complimented it. The fries were cooked fresh and decently filled to the brim of the bag. The chicken was big let down. The wing was the first piece grabbed out the bag and the temperature wasn't there. No juice, just luke warm dried meat. The second piece I grabbed was the drumstick and again temperature was off. No juice or no steam. It didn't feel like these pieces were under any heat lamps. Felt left out as each piece eaten didn't really have any residual heat. 3rd piece I grabbed was the thigh which I mistook for a breast because it was bigger in size. After positioning in eat mode I decided to pack the rest home instead because the chicken wasn't hot enough. Funny thing is after 1 hour drive my chicken breast piece had some retained heat. Little did I realize the stellar fries kept the breast warm. Shame on this place ... even KFC is enjoyable once order is secured. Their hot sauce packed in cups were good Hopefully they work on the their chicken game because it's comical that their fish outshined the chicken.

Thankfully I've had some great exciting with this type of fish in the last few weeks but DARROW'S is and has been the best. That's why I titled this review THE GOAT. The food and service was that good! I had the Catfish Po'Boy the greens and the Bean Balaya. The flavor was perfectly savory. Straight up mouth Mardi gras. Yes I said it. Party was in my mouth. I loved everything and even ate my friends leftovers with no shame. The ownership and the whole crew working there were upbeat and friendly. I loved this spot! I'll definitely be back. I'm all in on Darrows! Shiiid I'm family. Darrow Jeff

There was such genuine warmth and kindness. They didn't make us feel like we were simply customers having a birthday dinner, they made us feel like family. As a daughter, there's something incredibly special about watching your dad turn 80 and seeing him happy, laughing, sharing stories about our family history, and surrounded by people who truly enjoyed celebrating him. By the end of the evening, it felt like Pops had gained a new Darrow's family, and that touched my heart. Thank you, Darrow's, for loving on my dad and helping our family celebrate 80 years of his life. You played an instrumental part in creating a memory that we will cherish for years to come. The food was wonderful, the service was exceptional, but the way you made my dad feel is what I'll remember most. Five stars PLUS! + We will absolutely be back.

Long Beach resident here.... since 1975 & I can honestly say this is the best Soulfood spot ive…read moreeaten in the city since I've been here (51 yrs old)!! Absolutely Delicious!! Been trying to get over there since they opened and I finally had some time today. Went right after brunch & ordered 2 smothered chicken dinners, both w Mac & cheese & the others with red beans & rice & collard greens. Some of the best Mac & cheese I've ever eaten at a Soulfood spot. Seasoned to perfection, creamy, gooey & the noodles were perfectly cooked. Red beans and rice reminded me of New Orleans style and they were excellent. I didn't try the collard greens, but my Pot'nuh said they were on point! I believe his taste buds.... Now let's get to the main entrée! A little bit of the gravy got on my finger when I was unpacking the plates.... (because I took them to go.) and when I licked my finger, I knew I was in for a treat! This fried chicken was seasoned like our ancestors lives dependent on it! I'm serious. It taste like something my grandmother made back in Oklahoma!! Wait wait!! Then they put this smothered chicken on the bed of rice dressing or dirty rice.... I don't know what it is, but it is off the hook! SMH smh ‍ Now I can't lie, the prices were a little higher than I expected, but they give you enough food for two meals. So the smothered chicken was $28 and if I break that down, I just split it in half and look at it like $15 a meal. Worth the price to me. I will definitely be back and I'm glad the place seems to be doing great! It was packed with folks after church in their Sundays BEST lookin & smelling good!! Great ambience and the young lady at the register was sweet as she wanted to be!! Nothing but great reviews from this Guyy!! Keep up the great work!
