I saw a sign for this place a while ago and I was really excited to have a new brunch place in the neighborhood. First impressions.... It's hard not to notice the DJ playing music when you first come in. It's interesting for a breakfast place but the music selection was a little youthful for my taste. When I sent down, I noticed that this place seemed like it was not finished with its restoration. It just looked a little empty and could use a little more decorations. There is also some black paper along the windows, which looks pretty tacky. The place also had an unpleasant stink to it. I was slow to be greeted by a server after being seated despite the fact that the restaurant was less than half full. The coffee was fair and the service was slow. I was hoping my breakfast would make up for it, especially since the prices were a bit higher than average. I got the pork chop and eggs. The pork chops were very thinly sliced and deep-fried but had an almost jerky like texture. My over easy eggs were also well done. They do have some interesting looking southern dishes on the menu that I was really curious about, but it's very unlikely that I will return. Are too many other good breakfast spots in the area. So we came on a weekday around 8-830am. One car in the parking lot. We were not sure that they were even open. We walked in and the one staff member was sitting down playing on her phone and told us we could sit wherever we wanted. She was very nice and informative, just not the most professional. As for food, the breakfast quesadilla was good. Nothing Remely special to write home about, but good. The potatoes for a side dish are delicious. The biscuits and gravy were mediocre. The gravy was delicious. Had a great pepper flavor. However, the biscuits were gummy and tasted like they were frozen and cooked in the back. They did not taste homemade at all. Honestly, the restaurant was giving ATL vibes in terms of terrible service. Since last month, I reserved a spot for 10 people to ensure that our spot was secured given the holidays were coming up. When we arrived at 12:56 pm (4 minutes earlier) the hostess told us that they had no idea they had reservations. Instead, they provided services for people as first come first served. Mind you, this reservation was for my friend's birthday, so it was really disappointing that we had to wait for about an hour to get seated. I was so disappointed that I had to asked the servers if I should help clear the table because they were not on their feet quickly to get it together. So after an hour, we were finally seated and we didn't have a server taking our orders until 30 mins later. It's so funny, because I think I talked to one of owners about this situation, and they turned a blind eye to it. I want to support black-owned businesses, because I wanna support my people as always. At the same time, fix your communication and service to be organized. I am still confused as to how the hostesses and the servers had no idea that they were reservations - this is certainly management's responsibility to ensure the flow and communication is smooth. So I saw this the other day at the spot where the old Mongolian barbecue was and was pretty excited to try it. Took the light here this morning. Hoping to really love it. Overall, it's okay. Now the hotcakes are really tasty with a nice fluffiness to them and they have a sweet flavor to them without anything on them. I got the breakfast quesadilla which is pretty good flavor wise, but I think the overall feeling of the place is it's pretty basic at least for the stuff that we got. We did notice a lot of other things. Very Southern on the menu like fried catfish and chicken and waffles. That could be better but the breakfast we got is pretty basic and not something we'd come back for. We don't really have any options for their eggs at scrambled, scrambled or scrambled. The toast is pretty much Wonder bread and the sausage is quite honestly pretty sad. They're still in the process of opening so I think things ran fairly smoothly considering and our waitress was good. But overall probably not a place that we will run back to. There's so many great breakfast and run spots within a 20-minute drive of our house, this one's not going to get us very often. read more

I passed this place a couple of times and have wanted to stop in and try it. Despite the reviews, I was open to giving it a chance. I Didn't see many staff members there, but the server seemed nice enough. There were only a couple of other people in the restaurant. The first thing I noticed was how expensive the prices were and really for no good reason. This doesn't strike me as a brunch spot per sey, but rather a diner like atmosthe. Different choices on the menu. Also, it reminded me of food. I might find in a soul restaurant. A miss mash of different items.When our food arrived, it actually did not taste that bad. The person work then came out to seat us but before doing so she told us I better tell you what we don't have first: potatoes: lobster, turkey sausage, steak and salsa. I then looked briefly at the menu the items I would have chosen unfortunately would have utilized one or more of those items. It was warm and stuffy when we walked in. I noticed the thermostats were set to 85-87 degrees. It wasn't crowded (1/3 of the place filled). We were sat and noticed a bunch of people around us looking frustrated waiting. It took about 10 minutes until our server came to ask about drinks. It took another 20 minutes until we were actually asked for our order (remember...this place was NOT busy and packed). I out a timer to see how long it would take for our food to come out. In the meantime we noticed at least 2 groups walk out. That should've been the first clue. While waiting for our food to come (about 46 minutes!) we saw 4 other groups walk out. They were enough servers/waitresses. Seems to be a cooking line issue. The people seem nice and I kind of feel badly for our waitress because perhaps some was out of her control. But yikes. Got our food. It wasn't bad and not great either. Prices are high considering everything from above. One plate came out cold (it had been sitting for a while). I like to see new places succeed. Whatever they are doing here is hurting them. It's harder to rebuild a reputation rather than establishing a great one from the start. Not coming back and don't recommend. read more

Upon entering this establishment, we thought they might not be open yet as the doors looked like someone tried to partially scrape off the peeling tint. We entered and by the looks of the interior it appeared unfinished. While our server was pleasant, the food was subpar. We ordered the breakfast quesadilla w/ potatoes, nothing special and the potatoes were salty as Hell and I salt almost everything but these were inedible. The accompaniment sauces were ketchup, chili Verde & what seemed like their version of tartar that they'd serve with the catfish. When I asked the server for the pico which is stated on the menu, she had to ask the chef and came back to tell us that it is something they plan to make at another time ‍. We also tried the pancakes. These were very dry, I had to cut 3/4 of the outside to get to a somewhat edible center. I don't think we'll return, too many other places to choose from that have decent food. I had pics of the food but realized I deleted them before finishing this review. We ordered two chilaquiles and a kids pancake platter, coffee and apple juice. The coffee was very weak. Chilaquiles (18.99 each) was ok and came with stale chips. Kids platter was overpriced (2 tiny bacon, 1 egg and 3 pcs of tiny pancakes for 12.99) & apple juice was loaded with ice. I am glad to see this place and enjoyed breakfast here. I got the Red Velvet Waffle but it was really more of a pancake. The presentation was excellent, very nice looking breakfast. A little dry as was my friends Banana French Toast. He felt the egg custard should have had more time to soak the interior of the Texas toast but other than that it was excellent. I know these things are petty and I still enjoyed my breakfast. We also had good coffee and got a couple Lemon Cocktails from the bar. I recommend trying this place read more

Ambiance: The ambiance was nice, they have a live DJ, but it's not too much. You can still have conversations at the table and you can still hear your thoughts. This was the old Genghis Grill. Service: The service was very good, we were greeted right when we walked in and were seated in less than 5 minutes. Food: Let's get to the good part. We got a little bit of everything. We ordered the oxtails and grits, salmon bites, soul food tacos, sweet cakes, fried chicken wings, smash donut, brunch scrambler, fried lobster tails, steak and eggs, pancake tacos. All the food was so flavorful and delicious. My favorite was the oxtails, they were failing off the bone. The fried lobster was amazing as well, we loved everything. We had no complaints at all. I am not usually one to leave reviews. I typically will just never go back to a spot if I have a poor experience. However, I have never had an experience such as the one I had here & I hope that maybe this review will help better the business as it may actually still have potential. When first pulling up to the place, I noticed initially it did not even look opened. The windows are incredibly tinted & tinting on windows was flaking off & overall made the place looked unappealing from the outside. This should've been my initial red flag to reconsider. However, my partner & I decided to give it a go anyway & as we got closer saw a few people inside. Upon walking on, we definitely noticed how unfinished the place looked. I honestly believed it was still in the "soft opening" phase but later learned they already had a grand opening? Regardless, the inside just lacked character. No decor & the layout overall just seemed slapped together. We were 2 of about 4 people in the entire place. There was no indication of having to wait to be seated either. The waitress who sat us was very friendly but not super attentive. The menus are just pamphlets & when we looked at what they served, we quickly thought the prices were way too high, but again, we were excited to try the food to see if it was worth the price. We ended up just ordering the brunch specials. We both ordered the exact same thing except I got sausage & my partner ordered bacon. Both specials were supposed to come with a cup of coffee. While waiting for our food, partner went to use the restroom (no trash can in restrooms btw). Our food had been served while he was in restroom, however, his pancakes & eggs were not out. Waitress said it would be out shortly. We waited almost 15 minutes for the rest of his food (just pancakes & eggs) to come out but it never came. We also never received our cups of coffee. Also, the food was served on multiple plates?! I'm not sure why & just seemed odd/wasteful. We ended up telling the waitress to take his meal off the bill & to get our check. We waited another 5 minutes for the bill before we ended up just leaving enough cash & leaving. The overall experience just felt weird. The booth we sat in already had rips in the cushion. The syrup bottle was coated in syrup drippings. So much so that it was almost sealed shut. The pancakes were probably the only decent part of the meal. The place was practically empty so it made no sense that our food wouldn't have come out at the same time or in a timely manner. I just think that this place was not ready to open & for the prices they charge, does not hold the caliber. I feel the opening seemed forced & the servers don't know the menu & definitely don't seem very customer forward. It's unfortunate as this is a place I'd very much frequent as I love soul food & even more mimosas but never even had a chance to try more! I do hope with all these negative reviews they can turn things around but I don't see this place lasting as it seems everything was a last minute thought. read more

Before we walked in someone was walking out and giving another couple who were about to walk in advice to turn around and find another place to eat. I should have taken that as a sign to not bother with this place. I know they are new, but I don't think they are fully prepared to be open. Upon entrance there was a smell throughout the establishment of hard boiled eggs. Now one of their dishes is actually deep fried hard boiled eggs! When I asked if they were selling a lot of the dish I was told they were actually out of that dish and hadn't been serving it today...food was mediocre. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken & Strawberry N Cream Waffle. Not hot and still trying to figure out where the Cream part of this dish is supposed to be as it came out with two slices of a strawberry and some blueberries and blackberries...when I asked the waitress where the cream was to give it its name, she looked confused and shrugged. Steak and eggs were also underwhelming. Even at medium rare the meat was tough and stringing. Service was slow to initially get to the table to start us up, but once they got there the service was fine. He ordered a side of potato's never arrived. Grits were bland and watery. It didn't smell, but we came on a Friday morning. There was one server (in basketball shorts, hat backwards, tennis shoes and a sweatshirt , did an okay job but no sense of urgency. The food was mediocre and over priced. So much potential... but I would be shocked if this place was still a year from now. 1. The seating is awkward and too spread out. 2. Get more servers in uniforms. 3 figure out your decor- it makes no sense! 4. Update/correct your menus 5. I've visited both locations and the service is average. This new locations food is good but should be GREAT for the price and wait time. We arrived to flimsy dirty menus, 7 tables full of dirty tables with plates old customers left over food and to top is off it took a server 20 minutes to even ask us what we wanted to drink. Took another 12 minutes to get our drinks and 45 minutes to get our food. You would think they would train their staff on the importance of service and getting food out in a timely manner but this isn't the case. Brunch House can count their days because people will NOT pay their hard earned money for time to be wasted and subpar service. I went solo about a month ago and had the chilaquiles, it was delish! Went today with my daughter and had the biscuits and gravy, it was good but should have been served hotter. My daughter ordered French toast but got blueberry pancakes and she was so WOW'd with the presentation and the flavor that she didn't even notice the mixup. This place is exactly the variety we need in this area, and it's family owned! If we ask for 'no more chains', then we all need to support this local spot! Food was mid but not worth the price and the portions are small and still hungry after. And it is not even that crowded and service is just slow. I don't know what's up with the low reviews but this place is fire! The prices are a little steep with some of their things. But on par with the quality of food. They're new so it's kind of hard to find. We found it on accident. If I had to make any suggestions it would be I don't need another cup of coffee. Like literally a new cup with every refill. And maybe turn the air down a bit it was warm. But other than that service was great especially considering it was one wonderful waitress working all of the tables. But let's talk food. Omg the food was amazing!! I had biscuits and gravy. The gravy was thick and smooth and just the right amount of spice. Their breakfast potatos... wow!! Perfection. My husband and I visited Brunch House back in the summer. When we first pulled up, we were reading the reviews to decide whether or not to give Brunch House a try. There were many one star reviews and even more 5 star reviews, so we decided to make our own judgement. The parking lot was near empty. The service was very slow, prices were extremely high, and food was not up to par. While we were at the restaurant, there were many people who walked into the establishment, sat down at a table, and ultimately left after the server did not acknowledge them. It was bizarre to see that, and we wanted to leave as well, but we had already ordered. Little did we know it was going to take over 45 minutes to get our food and a refill of WATER. Servers were nowhere to be found during this time. The whole experience was really terrible. My husband and I like to make light of these types of situations, so since we visited brunch house, we make it a point every weekend to read the restaurant reviews to see if other patrons had the same experience as us. Funny enough, there will be 2-3 one star reviews noting the same awful experience we had, followed by 5-6 five star reviews. Pretty suspicious... Believe the one star reviews, they won't lead you wrong. read more

They were out of some of the drinks and they were out of some of the food items..... and we have been waiting now for over an hour and a half for our food.... still haven't received any food, and nobody checked in on us. Don't know what the issue is ...there's really nobody here! We're thinking about leaving, but we've already invested too much time, so we'll wait, but we won't be back... def not worth the looooong wait. Update: After another 15 minutes they finally brought my wife's & daughter's food... AFTER they brought us the wrong food! Daughter's French Toast dish was OK, wife's waffles were hard, prolly from sitting out a long time. Then we had to wait MORE... They forgot to bring a silverware. My food didn't come out for another 15 or 20 minutes ....my wife and daughter were done eating when my food was finally delivered and the potatoes were hard because they've been sitting out. Very unpleasant experience got the manager to take off everything except for my daughter's food and my beverage. Had to wait another 10 or 15 minutes because the manager never came back....had to ask another server to bring me the bill so I could pay for my daughter's meal in my beverage. $28 for 2.5+ hour experience that was very disappointing. My food was so bad, didn't eat...had to go to Jersey Mike's and get a cheesesteak to eat. read more
