I don't normally write bad reviews but when I've waited over 30 mins for a bagel, it's definitely warranted. I ordered a hot pastrami bagel that comes with onions and pickles and I specified no onions and even saw it on the register, after getting my food I found no pickles but onions... I took this to-go so I didn't get to check in store but I'm quite disappointed. I've been here a few times and this has never happened. I had the Vermonter which tasted good but was too sweet for me. Wish the bacon was crispier or more tasty. Coffee was meh at best. The bagel should be the centerpiece but the toppings are overwhelming the bagel. The coffee containers and everything behind the counter in general was not clean. I mean all the locations in the Raleigh area have less than a 4 star review with similar gripes. Come on this chain can be so much better with some attention to detail and better restaurant discipline. Ok first of all you have to at the very least clean up the dead flies in the windows and change the fly strip hanging over the eggs every day if they have dead flies. Oh and use something better to catch flies, Home Depot has plenty of fly traps better and less gross than a hanging fly trap. This is something you CAN control. The tables were dirty as it seems the place is not attentive of the dining experience it focused only on making sandwiches. If that's the case just have take out and not dine in. This place could be great if you paid more attention to detail. Also microwave is convenient but at this kind of small place we expect better than Starbucks microwave bacon to be honest. I stopped at this location as I was in the area and wanted coffee and a bagel. I have recently had amazing experiences with bagel sandwiches and wanted to continue the run. I tried the bagel special listed on the picture attached. One egg with peppered bacon and cheddar with garlic cream cheese spread. The sandwich was good and the pepper was not overwhelming on the bacon. I loved the cream cheese spread and the bagel was soft inside. The coffee was hot but I would like options for sweeteners such as sugar or stevia for my coffee. I don't use artificial sweeteners and that was the only option. I'm not sure why this place is so badly rated. I got the jalapeño cheddar bagel and jalapeño cream cheese. So spicy but actually so perfect for a savory breakfast. They have plenty of bagel and cream cheese options. And if you order multiple you get a discount. The coffee wasn't the best actually. It tasted kind of strange. Maybe it was the creamer but there was 0 flavor. Just bitter no matter how much milk or Sugar you added. As for the ambience the restaurant is very nice and well kept but I don't thin it's common for people To eat there. Seems like a to go spot. The worst customer service. I walked in with no one in line was never greeted even though there were 5 people working. I stood at the counter with no one looking up to make eye contact even though they knew I was there. After 5 minutes (yes I was checking my watch) one girl mumbled asking if I was ready to order (I think) to which I responded yes. I continued to wait another 6 minutes when the same girl looked up again to ask if I was ready to order. I said, "yes, I've been standing here for over 5 minutes" to which she let me know that I needed to order at the cash register??? I haven't been to this location in a very long time and forgot how small the seating area is compared to many of their other locations. They do have some outdoor seating too. The parking lot is also always crammed because La Farm is just a few doors over. The employees are friendly and really keep the line moving so no dilly dallying - know what you want to order! Even if it's a special order they can handle it. It's really loud when it's crowded, so much so that the person taking my order had to just about shout over the volume of noise in the joint! No shortage of variety of bagels and spreads to choose from. The bagel itself could have been a bit crisper, but was nice and chewy inside. For years I have known that the owner/manager is brusque, but he's efficient, so I haven't minded. I also want to preface that I rarely post negative reviews because I know everyone is (usually) trying their best. However, after a visit this weekend, I won't be returning to this location. With each bagel that I started to order, he cut me off mid-sentence with an attitude. For example, I said: "First, I need a sesame bagel--" and he huffed "Is there stuff on it? Is it plain? Is it toasted, what?" As soon as I would answer and start to complete my order, he'd cut me off again. I.e. I said "This will be toasted--" he'd huff, "With cream cheese? Butter? What am I doing here?" I consciously plan ahead of time a way to order efficiently to try to make their job easier, so I wasn't hemming-and-hawing like some customers do. I literally could not speak the words to order without him condescendingly and angrily interrupting me. Even down to the last little thing (I started to say "Sriracha" and he cut me off to ask if I meant Sriracha sauce or Sriracha cream cheese). It was incredibly demeaning and made me feel like a complete idiot in front of everyone in the entire store. During Covid times, most places are happy and grateful to have customers. This owner/manager made me feel like the four bagels I ordered were an immense burden. I would say that I wish they would bring back the sriracha egg sandwich which had egg, sausage, bell peppers, and sriracha. One of my favorite (quick) breakfast spots in town. The line is usually 6-10 people deep, but they move quickly with 3 people working the counter. I always get the Sriracha bagel on an everything bagel ( egg, sausage, cheese, red pepper, and of course Sriracha sauce). It's so damn tasty! B got the Seoul sunrise bagel today ( egg, sausage, red and green peppers with Korean sauce) it was pretty tasty- the sauce was spicy! Definitely recommend it if you're looking to change things up from your regular choices at Brueggers! I took a star off because I often get someone new (I assume) making my bagel and they always cut it unevenly. It sucks when 1/4 of my bagel is too tiny and the other 1/4s are huge. It's a minor gripe but it annoys me. Lots of parking- but the La Farm crowd can take up most of it! As for ambiance- it's a nice sunny spot- great for a quick bite. NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY My family and I had been going to Bruegger's for years. Recently my family expanded--so more of us to love Bruegger's, right? You would think so. But no. We were in there recently ordering. My grandson was sitting directly in front of me on the counter. Behind and not touching the sneeze guard. Both my hands on him. And he was well behaved. Telling us in his 2-year-old vernacular what he wanted. We were probably 10-12 feet from the cashier ordering. At which time the (I assume) Assistant Manager yells from the cash register, saying kids aren't allowed to sit there and I had to get him off. There was no sign indicating kids weren't to sit there. But I respect restaurant's wishes. I took him down. And completed my order. What I don't respect...And what was entirely inappropriate and unnecessary...was that the asst. manager saw fit literally to YELL...ACROSS the restaurant. We got our food. I approached the employee and expressed my dissatisfaction. I held my temper because I was still holding my grandson who was now visibly upset. He mumbled something. And that was that. I recently started working near this location and went in for a coffee. I got a cold brew coffee and I was not particularly impressed. However i joined Bruegger's rewards and in joining received a free bagel. I returned the next week and got my free bagel with light cream cheese and a large iced coffee. I really enjoyed my bagel and my iced coffee was HUGE. I don't know if they ran out of coffee cups or if this is the standard large hazelnut iced coffee size but it came in what seemed to be a large fountain soda cup. Since I had a long day left at the office, I certainly was not mad about this. I would definitely return for an iced coffee that size. Totally worth it. The rest of the menu however, I think is a littttttllleeee pricey for a bagel joint. If I didn't work within walking distance I'm not sure I would go there for food, ever. But, the two times I have been so far staff have been very friendly, courteous, and pleasant. It has also been very clean and service has been fairly quick. This is our fav bagel place and we love this branch more than others as we get good service here! We always go for the western sandwich with no bacon as we don't eat meat. It's delicious every time!
