Okay, so let's just get straight to it. I was here Saturday night around 7pm with a party of four. The place was packed. I was told the wait would be 25 mins or less. I received a text once the table was ALMOST ready. Once in the restaurant I asked how much longer and the hostess stated that she didn't see my name on the list. Of course I was instantly annoyed seeing how I had just received a text letting me know my table was almost ready and by this time 30 mins had lapsed and still no table. Finally, we were seated. We ordered drinks and the waitress completed screwed up our drink order. Bringing the wrong shots, the wrong back splash for the shots, I asked for an extra shot and ended up with a non-alcohol ginger punch. After the drink correction things seemed to be looking up. The ginger punch was yummy once I kicked it up with an extra shot of rum. The pear cosmo is very cute and danty but packs one hellva punch, both highly recommended. For apps, we had the Bru Platter. OMG! This is the reason I would return. I ate the entire platter by myself. The bru fries and pulled pork nachos were both underwhelming. The sauces for the fries were terrible. We tried four different burgers. All dry, All over cooked and All bland. All burgers are served al carte and the only fry option is the appetizer size , so consider sharing an order. Brought a couple of teenage girls as a special treat. It was a first visit for all of us. Walking in, the smells were intoxicating! It's not your average "burger joint" with the upscale feel of the interior and full bar! Our sodas came quickly but our order was very slow coming to the table with no refills or follow up from our server. Once out, I was underwhelmed with quantity/size for price. My daughter ordered a bowl of chili and it was good but not great. Sides are not included with your order so an extra charge for accompanying fries or onion rings. Several reviewers said the sides are huge and shareable but a side of onion rings is just five rings so it really depends on how many people are at your table. Onion ring batter was nicely crunchy and I did appreciate that the onions were not cooked to mush and had a pleasant bite. Ultimately, I got one onion ring after two teens each took two for themselves. My "Bourbon" burger honestly had no flavor. The peppercorn bourbon glaze had no flavor, the havarti horseradish cheese had zero flavor. Fortunately, I could discern the bacon but it really was one-dimensional. I was really disappointed. The other teenager ordered chicken tenders and a side of fries. She enjoyed the tenders and honey mustard but thought the fries were un-amazing so left them uneaten. I wish our server interacted with us more rather than trying to hurry us out even though it was a slow day due to MLK holiday. When we were done, we were ready to order desserts and shakes to go but the bill was dropped at the table and the server disappeared so we just went with the flow, paid and left. Was the food so good that I'd want to come back? It wasn't bad by any means but it wasn't amazing either. Good service would have gone a long way to swinging me towards feeling it is worth returning but our server was too busy hanging out in the back, not checking on us but once. Logan @the Plainfield location was our server for a party of at least 30, and he did an AMAZING job. Service was honestly better than anything I've received for small dinner parties and he was such a pleasure with every request. I ordered the Burger Snack, great portion size for ppl with smaller appetites and love I was able to get any toppings for it. I opted for the Stilton Bleu Cheese burger toppings. It was wonderful and loved the pear-bacon jam. Onion rings were good I would've preferred a little less batter and more crunch but still good with the house ketchup. The wings were good too but again I wish they had a crispness to the skin. The sauce has a good level of heat if you're a baby like me. Loved the blue-cheese dressing!! Visited this Bru location for the first time on Tuesday night and came away extremely impressed. There is a lot more space than the downtown location, and we were seated right away. After ordering, we had our food in less than 10 minutes. I ordered the Garlic Three Cheese Burger, which was excellent and cooked to order. I've never said this about a restaurant before, but the real highlight of Bru is the ketchup. They make it in-house, and it has a thinner consistency than regular ketchup, but it's great. Fries are a $2 up-charge on your burger, but it's well worth it. A larger order of fries is $6, but it comes with 3 dipping sauces, and they are all perfect complements to the fries. Visited this location for the first time this week. Very pleased with the experience. I have always liked Bru Burger as well as other restaurants owned by the same management group. Happy to see a restaurant in Plainfield that is a little bit different than the standard chains. My husband and I both ordered a burger with a side of fries. My burger was the Melt Your Face Off burger well done. Thankfully I still have my face, but this burger is quite hot. It's one of my favorite burgers around. The fries are always delicious and the homemade ketchup tops off the meal. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. He kept our water glasses full and checked on us multiple times during our meal. This location is a bit different than the downtown. The wait wasn't nearly as long, we got seated in the bar almost instantly. They also had much more space more to around within the restaurant, I appreciate the fact that all the tables aren't right on top of each other. The parking was also great with some many options around the mall. All in all great experience and I can guarantee I'll be back soon! read more

In town for volleyball tournament for daughter so are here night before. The first thing I want to say about this place is the location to the Marriott hotel. You can't get any closer. You go through the second doors in the Marriott in there you are in the outside mall area and you can see it from the doors. So location is great if you are staying in this area. We were graded nicely and sat down in a 2C table and our waiter came immediately to us. We ordered our drinks and he made sure my drink which was an alcoholic drink was really good. It was quite strong but I was ok with it. Ha! So we ordered onion rings and fries with the burger and we had the burger well done because we were just gonna split it ' it was a big burger. The burger was done perfect and it was large just like I thought it would be. The fries tasted wonderful new onion rings were great. The atmosphere is a casual on the high end side. Which for a bird price is surprising. Our waiter was excellent he made sure our drinks were filled he got busy came over and apologized and kept us updated which I really liked. Great spot in Plainfield at the Perry Crossing Mall. This is a good lunch, dinner, or drinks restaurant for small or large groups. There is a separate room for large separate parties (20 or more), you just need to call ahead. For lunch I always get a small Gorgonberry pecan salad (it's actually a normal size!) and you have the option of adding shrimp, chicken, or salmon. Also I can't leave there without their Bru fries with house ketchup. I honestly haven't had anything on the menu that I haven't enjoyed! They also use paper straws, which makes me happy :) read more

Had to go check out the new Bru in Plainfield! After coming here with my husband on Saturday night only to find that they had over an hour wait to get in, we opted to go for some awesome Indian food instead. My friend and I then tried again on a Tuesday during the lunch hour and got right in. Yay! We were seated immediately in a bench/chair combo table that butted right up next to someone else. I know they're trying to maximize space here, but it was a little awkward to seemingly be thrust into someone else's "zone." I ordered the garlic three cheeseburger and onion rings with a size of ranch dressing. I ordered the burger medium, and that is how it arrived. It had a nice, garlicky flavor. I guess it was very garlicky because my lunch companion complained of smelling it after our meal, and my husband was ran out of the bedroom that night because he couldn't handle the garlic coming from my mouth. I brushed twice, I swear! So be forewarned. There is some powerful stuff in them there sandwiches! The onion rings were beer-battered deliciousness! Our server was fine. Not super dee duper. Not awful. Just okay. She kept my drink full until towards the end of the meal. Then I was running on empty. I'm a pretty big stickler for that. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. Admittedly, I'm already a huge fan of Bru Burger. However, it was SO NICE to walk into this lovely nearby location experiencing 1) NO WAIT 2) easy, nearby parking (in the mall lot) and 3) super friendly service. Everything you love about the Mass. Ave. location exists here as well, it's just roomier. It was a huge space prior to the renovation, so I was curious to see what they would do to the place. Turns out, they added a few walls and made it feel much more like a home versus wide open space. I'm sure this cuts down on the noise level and added a splash of color on the walls. The place was hoppin' and the service was still excellent. We ordered the wings, hot sauce on the side. It came out as requested with an additional side of bleu cheese and a small garnish salad with tomatoes and cheese. We ordered the onion rings (HUGE portion, by the way) and enjoyed those with the house made ketchup. I finally tried a small salad (Sriracha Caesar) which was pretty big actually! It was true to its name and had a good amount of Sriracha on it. Half the time it's barely anything, but my mouth was burning a little from the heat (yes, I'm a wimp). I still ate it because it was gooood! Next came the burgers. I can't seem to tear myself away from the Mexicali. Seriously, it's my all-time favorite! Others look good, but I can't guarantee they'll live up to the Mexicali standard! (No jalapeños for me on this one, though. I know my limits!) It was perfectly cooked to medium well and the fries were nice and crispy. To end the meal, I had an offer from my VIP card (via email) for a free dessert. I got the s'mores cake to go. I checked it out (okay, I smelled it), and can't wait to see what it's all about once I stop being so full from all this tasty food! A friend and I had a hankering for a burger & beer for lunch and BRU Burger Bar did not disappoint! We came around lunch and had no problem being greeted and seated. It took us a bit to decide what we wanted because all of the burgers sounded fantastic. I opted for The End and it was amazing. Personally, I'm a firm believer that an over easy egg makes anything 10X better so I was in heaven when I tasted the caramelized onions + horseradish havarti cheese. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the Provencal and said that the goat cheese made it special. Since the burgers don't come with sides and our server told us that they were pretty filling, we opted to share fries which was a great choice. There's definitely enough for two people. We washed down our burgers and fries with a couple of beers and enjoyed chatting. We would have loved to enjoy the nice patio but there was road work taking place and it was so loud. It's been awhile since I have been to a BRU Burger, so I was pleasantly surprised by the newest addition to the expanding Cunningham Group. Located on the eastern end of the central block of Perry Crossing, there is plenty of free parking in the lot to the south of the building as well as a few angled street spaces out front. The entrance is on the northeast corner of the building (although there are some doors on the east side that could use some signage directing you to the front.) We were greeted promptly and noticed there are several rooms of tables for dining indoors and an outdoor patio on the north side. We were taken back into one of the more spacious rooms and were surprised at how full the place was even at 5:30 on a Tuesday evening. We suspected something good was about to happen. After a brief wait, our server arrived with menus and silverware and took our drink orders. We were ready with our selections by the time she returned, so we were able to place our orders ahead of the growing crowd. I ordered the fantastic Gorgonberry Pecan salad (small size) and the Garlic Three Cheese Burger with a side of Fries. All were tasty and generously sized. My wife went for the Patty Melt and a side of onion rings (and a to go box since she couldn't finish it all!) Notes: The "small" salad filled most of a square 9-inch plate! I specifically asked if this was the small and it was confirmed. Wow! That was a lot of salad! Excellent flavor combinations with just enough dressing. I really liked how the pecans no longer have the red pepper flakes on them like the original BRU Burger downtown had. The bacon on top was crisp and in large bites so that the flavor wasn't lost in the mix. Although I like my steaks medium rare, I like my burgers with a nice char on the surface, so if it has to be cooked well or medium-well to get the char, that's fine with me. (I hate bland fatty burgers!) So, I was glad that this burger met my specifications and had a nice flavor with the roasted garlic and truffle aioli. The sandwich came with thin dill pickle slices that I recommend adding into the sandwich. The salty/vinegar taste added another level to each bite that really made the sandwich. Instead of ordering appetizers of onion rings or fries, we went with the sides. The portions here are huge, so unless you are ravenous, the side portions are less than half the price of the appetizers and still have enough for most humans I know! ($3 for onion rings, $2 for fries). Service was attentive and made sure that to acknowledge our requests and act upon them promptly. And if you are going to dine here regularly, you've got to get a dining card to accumulate points. We are about one dinner away from earning a $100 gift card! The only negatives I can point out are that the room can get a little loud, but we didn't have any trouble conversing. Seating was rather close, so it was a little awkward hearing our neighboring diners' conversations in detail. The "house" ketchup is okay, but something about it tasted different from the downtown location. I really loved the downtown original ketchup. Something about this seemed out of balance and made me almost ask if they had a standard ketchup, but it was okay. Just not my favorite. I appreciate that there are lots of burger places that want to push the envelope of flavor combinations. But not all of them work. Sometimes, keeping it simple tastes the best. So, I really like that there is a "Classic" section of the menu as well as the "Chef" section. Stopped in the other day looking for a cold beer and a good burger. Well I got cold beer and a great burger. Bru does a very solid job serving great food. Bru has a great burger but they serve a vast menu with everything from salads, sandwiches, and wings. They have a great beer selection but also a full bar. Located on a main corner at the outdoor mall in Plainfield but they also have other locations in the state. Brand new location in Plainfield, just on the main strip inside The Shops of Perry crossing (aka: Metropolis). This is only the second time I've ever had Bru Burger and it was just as amazing as the first time! The restaurant is very nice inside and has a semi spacious patio for outdoor seating options. The staff was really on top of things when my girlfriend and I came here on a busy Friday night. The service was very fast for food and drink orders and they constantly checked on us to make sure we were doing okay. I'd say we waited 10 mins tops for everything and the food came out perfect to order. I had forgotten that their burgers were so big! The bar has a wide variety of alcohols as well as multiple rotating taps, and has the current ones listed behind the bar. I was impressed by the local microbrews they had! The only downside in my opinion is that the burgers do not come with fries and must be ordered separately from the appetizer section. Definitely not a deal breaker by any means. That said: the Valencia Salad is my favorite salad of all salads. Its perfect. Sweet, but not overly sweet, with great texture from the quinoa, goat cheese, and oranges. I love it. I get it with chicken to add some protein but, flavor wise, it definitely doesn't need it. I like this salad so much that it doesn't make me feel sad for ordering a salad at a burger joint. BRU Burger is definitely one of my favorites. I usually go to the Mass Ave location, but met friends on the west side (as soon as they said BRU when naming restaurants, I stopped them!) I am not a huge burger person and this is still a restaurant I don't get sick of. Their Gorgonberry Salad is the best salad around Indy. Possibly even in the state. Every time I go, it is a must have no matter what else I get. It has bacon, pecans, cranberries, and I'm not sure what else with a cranberry poppyseed dressing that is to die for. I also love their barbecue pork nachos. I've tried them many other places and they do not compare to bru burgers. I've never tried their Portabella burger and took a bite out of my friend's. I thought it was good, but she loved it. It had a pepper jam on it with goat cheese (). Spicy, but not overwhelmingly. You also can't go wrong with up-charging for onion rings. Second visit and the fascinating thing about Bru Burger is how they offer 4 restaurants in one. First there's a chic pub atmosphere tucked away with a large corner bar that is adjacent to a second area of booth and tables area that is primarily couples dining and also 'chill'. Third around the perimeter is family grown ups seating and fourth and last are large open tables by the front entrance for family's with kids. The great part is you can enjoy dining in one area and be oblivious to what's going on on the other side of the restaurant. We enjoy the pub section and the team attending have been pros each time - the kind that notice if you need another napkin or if your ice water only has 1/3 left and refills it when your not looking. I am not sure about what makes the burger delicious though, is it the blend or the farm from where the beef comes? Great ambiance for intimate date nights as well as fantastic service and accommodations for larger conference gatherings. The menu is always full of delicious choices. Their Ahi Tuna Burger is to die for and their ketchup, odd as it may sound is extra delicious with their fries! Love all their appetizer and entree choices but the goats cheese spread and pita is top notch! Service is helpful and timely... always courteous and friendly staff. I am a huge fan of all Cunningham restaurants and Bru Burger is no exception. The food and service are both excellent. They do not take reservations, but we have never had to wait more than 20 minutes when visiting this location. If you do have to wait they do allow you to wait in the bar and have a drink. They service is great. One time while visiting we didn't want to wait and asked if they could open up the outside seating for us to eat out there (this was a cooler night). They agreed and we got seated right away. Now that is what I call good service. The price is like any other sit down restaurant. For a burger and a side of fries is usually around $11-$14. The food is also amazing. I am not usually a huge hamburger/sandwich person, but they have so many different options that you can't go wrong with picking any of them. The best part about the meal I find is the homemade ketchup. If you aren't a big tomato fan I would steer clear of it and just get the normal ketchup, but if you are looking for something a little different than you should try it. Usually they're pretty decent. Fries always seem to be mildly warm. But the past two times I've been there I've been put on hold for about 20 minutes. After holding for so long the front desk lady answered the phone to tell me it's busy and that I can either wait longer or just order online. Well now since I was already driving there, I was already in the outside parking lot. To explain - I always call and start to head there, busy or slow they usually take my order right away and I drive there in time to pick it up. If I have to wait longer because it took a good 5 minutes for them to answer and take my order then that's fine. As long as someone answered and the takes my order at a decent time time . But today it took 20 minutes ... once I got in, the bar area wasn't even busy... Made my order at the counter, they gave me a soda for the wait (which is nice on them but the soda just tasted like carbon, but didn't want to complain) ... finally got my food and the fries were not fresh. Just really disappointed today. The last time I came in, it was at night, slow and fast for them to take my order. But once I got there no one was at the counter, a few ladies walking around cleaning tables saw me and never asked or said anything to me. I tried to get their attention but they ghosted me. My food was literally sitting right there behind the counter next to the register, which I contemplated just walking back and grabbing. It was already paid for but I wouldn't have been able to leave a tip (which is what I always do) so I waited... about 5-10 minutes later finally someone came out and handed me the food and the receipt to leave a tip.
