Chicken salad with fries
William A.

Came in with a picky bunch of kids, the boss was taking our order told us it be a minute because they had just got a big call in. Order offered us free fries Took our order an made options to what the kids want was very helpful an saved me a little but if money I. The process, love the fact the manager was more worried about how we felt about the food than the dollar we spent definitely going back

Sharing the pizza sub

It's always a good idea to reflect on the mundane and generic places we all eat at. Formulaic methods and staid representations notwithstanding, Penn Station does deliver above average, written by the script, sandwiches for the Indianapolis area. What's special here? First time at this location, but the pizza sub delivered a tasty punch. We'll give it another go and see if the artichoke rings the bell like it used to.

sm Chicken Parmesiam with small fries

I like this Penn Station location better than a couple of others I've been to. The owner used to have the one on Rockville Road, and it was good then too. Last time I went to the Rockville Road location, it wasn't very good. So I was very happy to see that he moved to Plainfield! I am hooked on the Chicken Parm with onions and mushrooms. I have to get the fries because they just go together so well. Everything is always fresh and hot. I always ask for extra pizza sauce and they are happy to oblige and don't up charge for it. The place is always clean and employees are friendly and helpful.

Nothing like ordering from a manger who is spitting food out of their mouth while you are ordering. Just gross.

My visit to The Green Room Cafe was nothing short of a caffeinated revelation…read more From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was enveloped in an atmosphere that felt like a secret garden had collided with an artist's dream -- warm, inviting, and humming with just the right kind of energy. The service was absolutely impeccable: attentive without hovering, warm without pretense, and delivered with the sort of genuine hospitality that makes you feel less like a customer and more like an honored guest at an impossibly chic gathering. And then came the drinks. The pistachio latte was a masterpiece of balance and indulgence -- velvety, nutty, and luxuriously smooth, as though a pistachio grove had somehow been distilled into liquid silk. Each sip unfolded like a sonnet. The wildflower latte, meanwhile, was pure poetry in a cup. Delicately floral without being overpowering, it carried an almost ethereal sweetness, like spring itself had been persuaded to dissolve into espresso. It was whimsical, elegant, and astonishingly memorable. The Green Room Cafe has achieved what so many coffee shops aspire to but few truly accomplish: creating not just beverages, but an experience -- one steeped in artistry, comfort, and just the right amount of enchantment. A triumph. Five stars scarcely feels sufficient. Oh, and parking was mindlessly easy, the owner was present, the bathrooms impeccable, nursing mother's room near restrooms and high ceilings to dissipate the hum.

I love finding a coffee shop that has their own house made syrups. I tried the monthly special, Wildflower latte with an added espresso shot and sadly it just tasted like flavored milk. I want to be able to taste the espresso and decided to pivot to a cocktail instead. Their cocktails were well made and the presentation was perfect. While there isn't a large selection of liquors, they have the staples to make most go-to cocktails in addition to their monthly specials (both cocktail and mocktail options). The food is what really stands out and would bring me back. You are able to choose a salad, flatbread or sandwich and their creations are unique and delicious. I had the pesto, peas and goat cheese on flatbread and was pleasantly surprised to find I could order the flatbread as a half order for $9 instead of committing to a whole order. I will be back but the coffee still needs some work before it would be enticing enough to became my go to location. Overall, it's a fun spot with options for everyone and a great addition to the Plainfield area.

Every meal seems a little lacking and leaves you wanting a little bit more but the atmosphere and staff are nice which helps to balance the disappointment. We ordered the bruschetta as our appetizer, it was enjoyable but more olive forward than we were expecting. I ordered the arugula salad which did say it had spinach in it. However, it was a mainly spinach salad. I opted to add chicken to it and ask our waitress if the chicken was seasoned and worth the ad and she assured me that it was. Unfortunately it was not seasoned and it was very bland reminding me of the pre-packaged chicken pockets you can buy at Costco. Had I known I wouldn't have added it as it did not add anything to the salad. My friend really wanted the brussel sprout salad and apparently they did not have brussel sprouts so it was only romaine salad so she opted for a pasta dish instead. We appreciated our waitress giving us the heads up and confirming that she still wanted the salad with the changes that would be made to it. We ended the evening by sharing a tiramisu for her birthday along with an espresso martini. The dessert options were nice, but the espresso martini wasn't traditional; it was more Baileys-forward than expected. Overall, it's a decent restaurant for a casual meal but it hasn't offered anything that would make us eager to return or crave another visit.

Lately both of those options have resulted in horrible quality and quanity of food. We've received salads that are half portion and missing ingredients and the ingredients are often not fresh. Today I decided maybe if we dined in, we would get better food. I was wrong. About half of the teenaged staff is polite and helpful. The other half seem put off and checked out. We've came in to pick up food in evenings and some of them are actually running around, screaming and playing around. When approached about issues, they've acted annoyed, put out and even confused about why we want exactly what we ordered. Today, I had both of my children with me. They brought one child's kids meal out first, missing items and with only a 4th of a cookie. I've never had another location give anything less than a full cookie. Her potato also had like a pinch of the requested bacon. It was pitiful. When approached about wanting more bacon, the missing butter and sour cream, and a full cookie, the person in the kitchen became angry at the request. The plate was finally handed back with a little more bacon, another 4th of a cookie and still no butter and sour cream. By the time she got everything she'd ordered, her potato was cold. Second kids meal finally came out, the Uncrustable having been microwaved because they had forgot to take any from the freezer this shift. When she bit into it, it was hot and sprayed jelly all over her. She also only received a 4th of a cookie.

But with all the toppings-ham bacon, black olives, cheese and sour cream it was ok. The sweet tea is always good. Hubby ordered an Italian sandwich she said, a small or large he said the large. It was so big he couldn't eat it all. They had promotion going on when you spent $25 you could get an iced tea ornament, which was so cute. It had a lemon wedge a little ice cubes in it.
