I'm extremely frustrated with this location. It's the closest location to our home, so we use it when ordering delivery or doing pick up. Lately both of those options have resulted in horrible quality and quanity of food. We've received salads that are half portion and missing ingredients and the ingredients are often not fresh. Today I decided maybe if we dined in, we would get better food. I was wrong. About half of the teenaged staff is polite and helpful. The other half seem put off and checked out. We've came in to pick up food in evenings and some of them are actually running around, screaming and playing around. When approached about issues, they've acted annoyed, put out and even confused about why we want exactly what we ordered. Today, I had both of my children with me. They brought one child's kids meal out first, missing items and with only a 4th of a cookie. I've never had another location give anything less than a full cookie. Her potato also had like a pinch of the requested bacon. It was pitiful. When approached about wanting more bacon, the missing butter and sour cream, and a full cookie, the person in the kitchen became angry at the request. The plate was finally handed back with a little more bacon, another 4th of a cookie and still no butter and sour cream. By the time she got everything she'd ordered, her potato was cold. Second kids meal finally came out, the Uncrustable having been microwaved because they had forgot to take any from the freezer this shift. This was our first time at this location. I ordered the pick two -half a chicken salad sandwich, and the spud Mac baked potato. I was a little disappointed in the potato because it was old. But with all the toppings-ham bacon,black olives,cheese and sour cream it was ok. The sweet tea is always good. Hubby ordered an Italian sandwich she said, a small or large he said the large. It was so big he couldn't eat it all. They had promotion going on when you spent $25 you could get an iced tea ornament, which was so cute. It had a lemon wedge a little ice cubes in it. read more

I'm going to venture that this is the best McAlister's in the surrounding Indianapolis area. We dropped in for an early dinner on Memorial Day and there was no wait. The young gentleman who took our order at the counter was efficient and helpful; we then headed over to fill our cups with their famous house-brewed tea. I love that they offer lemon wedges, as well! We sat down, and a kind gentleman brought us our food in no time. This man was very friendly, and checked on us frequently, removing our dishes when we finished and even offering to refill our teas. Food - I ordered the Pecanberry Salad with the Fat-Free Raspberry-Pecan Vinaigrette dressing. I also ordered Avocado (which costs extra) on my salad. Overall, this salad tasted delicious! I usually order a McAlister's Club Sandwich, but I wanted to try something different. I'm glad I did! Even though McAlister's Deli is known for its sandwiches, I plan to make the Pecanberry Salad my go to order from now on! Service - Great service. I dined here on Sunday after church, which is typically one of the busiest days/times to dine in. I was also here with a large group. I decided to host a party for the IndyCar Season Opening Race this weekend so I needed to pickup some food. I choose McAlister's for one of my "sponsors." I've been to many a McAlister's but this was my first time at this location. I called in my order about three hours ahead of my pickup time to make sure to give them enough time to be ready for me. I went with their Classic Sandwich Tray. You order by the number of persons and they include a bag of chips for each person and the customary condiments for sandwiches. I arrived ten minutes before I was due to pick up and everything was ready and I had no issues checking out. The sandwiches were great. Everyone loved them. Sorry that I forgot to take a picture. There were four different kinds of bread, from croissants, to healthy grains, to traditional white bread. Same for the meats, from Butterball smoked turkey, Black Forest ham to Black Angus roast beef. Lots of variety. read more

I love this restaurant and no matter where I go in the city it seems they do a great job of quality control and service. After placing an order we were impressed despite the busy time of day how quickly we received our food. I got a salad which doesn't come with a pickle, but when I asked a staff member brought me several to my table. I really appreciated them going above and beyond considering there is no tip at that point in the service. A nice, clean and tasty spot for lunch or a meeting with delicious fresh food. There was pickles, salt, and pepper in the napkin dispenser at table 412. I am never coming back to this establishment, or the horrible state of Indiana. My food was cold and they totally forgot about my friend, who didn't get his food until 20 minutes after I got mine. The people sitting across the room from me were snorting salt. It was very off putting and disturbing, so I didn't finish my sandwich, which was colder than a witches titty. All in all, I would give it a .5/10. I placed an order through their app for a family birthday gathering totaling almost $100. Several family members did not receive all their food items ordered. It was embarrassing & I felt so bad for them. I sent a message regarding this and was told that they would mail me a couple free meal cards. I find this chain excels at mediocrity. All of the soup and sandwiches I have tried have lacked flavor and texture. The "baked" potatoes are always wet, which is weird and they aren't fluffy on the inside. I would guess they are microwaved or maybe even boiled, which is a damn travesty. Love this place for lunch or dinner. Today I tried the black cherry spinach salad with chicken dumpling soup. I really like the pick two option choice of soup, salad or half a sandwich. The sweet tea here is my favorite, it's not too sweet. The portions are decent for the price. I've done the call a head option and it's always ready before I get here. We went down to Plainfield Indiana to check out a Del Webb community and decided to try out the McAlister's down the street from the new development. We have been to two different McAlister's in the western suburbs of Chicago. I found that the decor is very nice. The wait person was very nice and helpful. McAlister's is THE place to go if you're an iced tea lover -- hands down. They have a whole bar dedicated to iced tea, for crying out loud. There is literally a woman standing behind a bar, and it is her job to ask you what kind of tea you want and then serve it to you. That's all she does. Tea. They like their tea here. I didn't get any tea this time (for shame). I did get the Southwestern Cobb salad, which came with grilled chicken breast, corn and poblano pepper relish, guacamole, cheddar-jack cheese, tomatoes and tortilla chips. Chipotle ranch dressing is served on the side. It was good and big and filling, but it wasn't as "Southwestern" as I thought it was going to be. Mostly it was just a whole lot of iceberg lettuce and a tiny portion of the other ingredients. This McAlister's is fairly new, so it's nice and well-kept. We visited on a Sunday around the time church lets out, and it was PACKED. Luckily, the people who work here are really fast at taking orders and getting the food served, because despite it being horrendously busy, we didn't have to wait long at all. There is a pleasant and large patio area with lots of shade and tables to sit at if you want to sit outside. We will probably do that next time. read more

McAlister's has been one of my favorite places to eat for a long time. My experience at this one was extremely subpar. I stopped in for a late lunch (around 3:30) ordered my food and was told I would receive my tea at the tea bar. Instead of making my drink the employee who walked up turned to another who was running food and said "can you do this? I gotta go". Wow, these employees are eager to serve their customers... After being passed off to another employee I was asked 3 times what I had ordered for my beverage because apparently "unsweetened tea with lemon" is too difficult to remember. I went out and sat on the patio where I found gnats were swarming everywhere. As I looked around the patio there were several tables that were dirty with plates, trash, and unfinished food that no one has bothered to come clean up. With the food scraps remaining on the tables, it's no wonder there were so many bugs around. There were plenty of employees just sitting around in the dining room, so I'm not sure why they couldn't have cleaned up. When I moved inside, I made a comment about how dirty the patio was and an employee sitting in the corner of the dining room nearby snickered at me. Unbelievable. So now, I feel rather disrespected and it's become clear to me based upon two other interactions with the staff here that they don't really care about their customers. Walking around the dining room I found several tables inside to also not be clean. Apparently cleanliness is not a priority here. When my food finally came out, I had been waiting about 15 minutes. I had ordered a sandwich with no mustard and no mayo. My sandwich had both. I took it back to the counter and they fixed it. But apparently I had to wait again behind everyone else who had ordered because it took 10 minutes before I saw my order come back out again. The employees at this location show a complete lack of appreciation for their customers and apparently laugh at them when they point out the poor state of cleanliness at their restaurant. i will start out by saying this is still my favorite location! everyone was super sweet and helpful but i placed a pickup order which included mac & cheese and 4 pickle spears with my sandwiches. i did not receive the mac & cheese or the pickles. also, i placed for pickup online and was told it would be ready at 8:30. i came in right at 8:30 and was told my ticket was printed out but my order wasn't made so i didn't actually get my food until around 8:45. when i called to let them know the lady who answered was very sweet and remorseful which was nice but she wasn't really able to do anything about it, which is fine! it was close to closing time so i definitely understand trying to close with everything else going on! read more

UPDATE- After being contacted by headquarters, LSS- I was given a chance to try their food again. I had a very good Chicken Salad Cross. W/ very good Mac&Chz. It was really really good. I looked over the menu and the pictures of a "grilled cheese" looked good! It was supposed to come with a pickle spear, and I choice of a side - Mac and cheese. I also had been craving a potato- their potatoes looked great, but I just wanted the "standard" - butter and sour cream (sc on the side) so I was pleased to see the choice for just that! And it said "justaspud" came with butter - sc on the side! Cool! Then there was an additional choice you could add "ranch" or (one other thing?) so I thought I might like ranch on part instead of sour cream on all of it, so I added that. I did also ask in the last note to add American cheese to the sandwich- because the description I read was "Tomato, ciamata bread, and (provolone? One kind of white cheese not Swiss) was listed. The total for this to be delivered was $25. (Not through Yelp) But I give same directions on all deliveries... GPS for my house is off, since I have had everything delivered since March, I say that first in delivery notes, then I left note to leave food on the table by my front door. (Choice for a lot of deliveries now- and there is a table on my porch!) Food was done sooner than expected... food was put ON THE GROUND, JUST OUTSIDE MY DOOR ! GRUBHUB WTH? He interrupted me and curtly said, "Ok, but I am doing this right now." (In a really smart ass way) I gave him my number and waited. That was at 2:30. I was so upset when I got off the phone. Why did I feel bad? I am tired of feeling bad for asking and expecting to get what I paid for. My stomach ache started to get worse... I didn't want to start eating anything. I figured he would be here about the time I got ready to eat. The employees on front register and monitoring the cafe are really nice and trying their best to make the customer experience special. My food arrived quickly, so the kitchen staff was doing great as well. That being said, it made me uncomfortable to watch and listen to the tall, brown haired, female shift manager yell at them in front of customers, and threaten them with 'I'll write you up, I don't care', all for simple mistakes and understandable confusion. My wife and I eat at Mcalister's and get the pick two almost every week . when we go to the one in Avon, we always make two meals of it, reheating the leftovers. While this place is obviously a chain it is still a great place to stop for lunch or dinner. We have been here multiple times since they have opened. We even went the day they opened and our service has never really changed. The service always seems to be very friendly and for the most part fast. There have been sometimes when we have had to wait a little longer, but there are always employees checking on us to see that we have everything we need. The food is also amazing. I would suggest the pick 2 option. You get a good portion size of both items you get with the pick 2. I have tried a couple of their spuds and have liked them all. I usually go with the veggie spud and usually get either a chef salad or tortilla soup. Both are great options and it is a little on the healthier side. If you are in the area I would suggest that you stop in. I have never left here not full and happy. read more

Tonight the restaurant closed while we were eating. One of the employees around closing time offered a drink refill. The girl at the tea bar almost had my tea ready before I told her what I wanted and my food came out within five minutes. I don't normally review chain restaurants, but with this being a brand-spanking-new location in my hometown, I thought I'd chime in. First of all, I'm impressed with the speed in which this McAlister's was built. It seemingly went from an empty lot to a shopping plaza in a week. The restaurant design itself was well done. This seems "classier" & less "kitchy" than some of the other locations we have been to in the Indy area. It seems polished, and I hope they keep it that way. I also think it's nice that they built a "party room" that is glass enclosed in this location. There aren't enough places in Plainfield that offer this feature. Customer service, although slow/new, was friendly. Now, onto the less positive part of this post. Our first visit was on Easter Sunday, before the church crowd was released. When we got there, there were 3 parties in front of us, but the ordering system seemed a bit scattered. We got called over to the "take out" counter to place our order, which ended up being a bad move. The girl taking the orders was SO SLOW, that the 3 groups BEHIND us in line had ordered before she finally finished our order. That was a bit frustrating, but we chocked it up to "she's new, the place is new" & rolled with it. This location does a "tea bar" concept where you pick up your drink order. The problem is that the cashiers are new, the concept is new for a McAlister's, and they don't do a good job of explaining this to the customers. There were a few people who had their food delivered to their table, and were wondering where their drinks were (answer: sitting at the tea bar with half-melted ice at this point). Now, onto the really negative. It was a pretty long wait (for a McAlister's that is not that busy/full) to get our food. When it arrived, my French Dip sandwich was stone-cold (i.e. meat just out of the refrigerator cold) & my husband's Club Sandwich had a 8-inch long black hair coming out of one of the pieces. GROSS. Somebody obviously forgot to wear a hairnet. Yes, they look dorky, but they are vital. My husband returned our order. Nearly 15-minutes later, our replacements arrived...which were good & hair-free, thankfully. The managers were appropriately apologetic, and gave us coupons for a free meal on our next visit (which is the saving grace for this being a 4-star-giving-them-the-benefit-of-a-doubt-because-they-are-new review, instead of a 3-star). We're anxious to give it another shot in a few weeks & see if they are a bit more pulled-together...and hairnet-wearing... in the future. read more

My father & I ordered the exact same order, 1/2 sandwich & soup, got only one sandwich, had to wait for the other one to be made...mine did not come with avocado on it, which it was an avocado,chicken blt...brought the avocado on the side later....came without mayo, which it stated it had...upon eating a couple bites of my broccoli cheddar soup found a piece of wax paper I was chewing on...took the soup back, brought another without a spoon, sat for 5 min before that got taken care of....not once did a store manager come and apologize or ask if everything was ok...I work in the service industry and if a customer has that many problems, as a manager, you should come over and at least apologize for the issues...I live in Plainfield, and I won't be back to this location. read more

This place cannot get a single order right. We have had so many incorrect orders which involved missing items that we paid extra for. We reached out and haven't heard back from them. If you are getting a curbside order be sure to check every detail of your order before you drive home. If they make you go inside to get it and have a drink be prepared to wait 15 mins to fill up a pre made drink. read more
