First time diner, probably the last if this is what they are like. Went in 8 pm Saturday. Seemed nice, menu was enticing. Dirty dishes on over 50% of the tables, other tables had not been cleaned, food particles....I so hate that! Pickle and pepper bar....no plates. Food came quick....luke warm! This McA's is the closest to our house, so we've tried to warm up to it, but nothing ever seems to change with the quality of the service. Today my veggie club had brown lettuce, was drenched in dressing and the bread was burned. Who in their right mind would serve that? This store would! No one ever stopped by to check on us or see if we needed a refill. If you have been to the one in Rockville Rd, you know that the manager and staff are wonderful and always are checking on you. I've also been to the one in Brownsburg a few times, too, and have had a good experience. Perhaps this store needs better management? read more

Not a good experience this time. It started out with the employee not understanding how to get the purchase to count towards my rewards app. Then I decided to forget that and just redeem the free cookie code in the app. The employee could not make it work and called the manager. The manager came and couldn't figure it out either apparently, because the cookie wasn't on my receipt. She did take off my tea though, great that's better than the cookie (I still got the cookie too). I sit at my table, food arrived, I didn't notice at first but my tortilla soup didn't come with chips. I went to the counter and asked for some. They were delivered to my table, great. Let's dig in. The soup was ok. I would have liked it warmer, but ok. The sandwich was not so great. The tomato was green in the middle. The lettuce was limp and had dirt on it. The meat was not as much as I was expecting, it didn't cover the bread. I assume they were not having a good day. I will probably again sometime, but not for awhile. read more

Stopped by for their soft opening and training shift for lunch. And honestly, I could not be more impressed. The interior is beautiful, add the fact they have a separate dove for meetings and also a patio on the outside to enjoy the weather. The staff was pleasant and very customer service oriented. Te owner was also on hand, had the privilege of talking with him and also the operations manager. The food was delicious and on point, I left with a full belly. If this place stays on point like it is now, it will be extremely successful for years to come. read more

I have visited this location several times and have always had a pleasant experience both in terms of service and food. Today I placed an online order, which was remarkably easy to do through their 3rd party provider. The order got home and was missing 2 side orders. I called the restaurant and spoke with Katia and made arrangements to drive back in to pick them up. When I got there Katia came out to meet me, apologized profusely (which come on, stuff happens and the bag should have been checked by us) and then proceeded to not only provide me with the missing sides but she also gave me 2 VIP cards for future meals AND wait for it....a bag of chocolate chip cookies! Great sandwiches and soup ..., perfect meal for a cold day like today. I ordered the Mcallisters club and Broccoli Cheddar soup with a coke. The club sandwich was tasty with fresh lettuce and tomatoes and bacon fried just the way I like it .... crunchy but not burnt. The broccoli cheddar soup was good but nothing outstanding. Serving sizes were adequate. The ordering time and delivery of food time to table was ok but not exceptional... Mike the mgr was busy going to tables offering to help with drink refills and makIng sure all is well at each table.... very courteous and friendly. A little pricey but in line with what we pay for meals at similar places. We enjoy eating here and would recommend anyone to give Mcallisters a try if you aren't a former customer... ample parking and easy to get in and out. read more

I placed call in order for pickup 30 minutes later. When I arrived sandwiches were not started. They forgot, I was told. No one apologized and after waiting 15 minutes I was handed my bag. I should have checked it because when I got home the order was not all there. I counted at least 10 employees working. And still service rude and bad. . First off, this McAllister's has good food like any other. The single star is due to horrible management which fails to control and manage their staff in a diligent and courteous manner. When you visit other locations, workers are continuously checking to see if you need refills or if they can take away dirty dishes from the table. This is not the case at this location. The tea bar is consistently dirty, sticky, and sometimes unmanned. On many occasions, there has only been one cashier and one or more managers and the managers never help when there is a wait to order. This is common practice and I rarely visit when I don't have issues. There food is good, but until they address their management issues, this will continue to be a disappointment here in Plainfield. read more

You can generally depend on a relatively good meal when you slide into Mc callisters. On this evening I enjoyed the roast beef and cheese French dip. It was flavorful and tender. My side was their broccoli cheese soup. Nice and thick texture. To wash the meal down I went thru a couple of large glasses of their signature sweet tea. I Always go to the Avon store which is 5 star place so thought I'd try Plainfield since it's on my way home and it's closer . I have went there only once a few months ago and it was good but tonight decided to stop on my way home from work and it was a disaster ! Only one Girl at counter but very pleasant no complaints on her ..she took my order I waited and waited at a dining room with no clean place to hardly sit and finally after 35 o4 40 minutes I asked if I could at least have my drink which the girl was very nice at the drink bar and fixed it right away so I waited some more and finally asked her could she please check on my order . I sat back down with my drink . It had been quite a while other folks came and went I so she looked in the window at the tickets didn't see it and said she'd have to make it again . No apology or explanation really what happened at thst point then the manager I heard say that the checkout kid had gave it to another lady ...hers and mine order as well ...Just a mistake I'm sure but still got no sorry or apology or any explanation to me personally just overhearing all of that I found out the problem . An hour I'll never get back . I'm not a complainer to get free meals have seen that go down with cheap people I just wanted to be recognized as a customer . I heard one kid ask for a plate then came back up and the customer said they wanted a clean one .. you can just feel when there's tension in the air and things aren't running smooth . It was run so unprofessional I never had seen that restaurant chain in bad shape like that . Like I said Avon is full staffed ..clean .. super quick with your orders . This place was almost all the tables were left dirty no one was even making an attempt to pick them up ...the floor full of trash ...the pickle station empty ...something was just overall disturbing .. I've worked in the restaurant business many years and you know when things are disjointed with management and staff . The cook or Manager seemed grumpy with all these young kids . They finally gave me my food after almost an hour never saying a word ..working all day and tired and hungry I took it home to almost raw bacon on the baked potato was was cold rubbery and very dried out . The Sandwiches was fine but felt bad for the kids and the whole operation seemed that somethings was wrong with that stores management . Maybe they had a staff shortage that night it happens and it's hard to catch up but always look out for your customers there patronage can make or break a place with bad service . if there is a problem inform them and apologize we're all human and make mistakes I would have definitely understood . I think I'll back off that location till it gets turned around and will just make the extra few miles to Avon next time. For $25.00 supper after a long day on my feet I'd expect better . This place sucks. There's nothing but teenagers working and they don't seem to notice you walking up to them. They also don't direct very well, for instance, how am I supposed to know to go to the tea bar for my tea? I love the mcallisters in Avon and brownsburg but this one just needs a more experienced set of workers that actually have worked before. read more

After several visits to this brand new location, I give my thumbs up in approval. Wonderful space with ample amounts of seating (outdoor seating too). The staff has been helpful to the point of letting us order from our table because we forgot to buy a salad. The line goes an average speed. I will be in here frequently due to its superb location 5 minutes from my house. read more

I am familiar with McAlister's and have eaten there quite a few times, although usually not the Plainfield location. I choose to eat at McAlisters because I can get food that is not heavy and loaded with grease. They have very good tea. But I do have one minor complaint. My favorite salad dressing is oil and vinegar. I get oil and vinegar anytime I order a salad at any restaurant. The stuff at McAlisters is not very good and a bad dressing ruins a good salad. There are at least three other restaurants where I order oil and vinegar dressing that is very good, but McAlisters fails. Today I poured some of the oil onto my plate so I could taste the oil by itself. I don;t know what they are using but it is a very bland tasteless oil therefore the oil and vinegar is bland and tasteless. I expect the oil is just regular vegetable oil not olive oil. I will eat at McAlisters again but I will not order oil and vinegar. I guess I will just have to get used to another dressing. read more

We both ordered the spicy southwestern grilled chicken breast sandwich and it was awful. There was no grilled chicken breast such as you might find at other fast food places. The chicken consisted of a few cold chunks in a sea of soupy ranch sauce. The flat bread was buttered and grilled, but it and the cheese were the only warm things about the sandwich. The cheese was supposed to have been pepper jack, but it did not taste like that. There were a couple of corn kernels and maybe a bean for the salsa and something green but definitely not related to any guacamole I've ever had.
