Our waitress was attentive and incredibly helpful. I have been here several times and across the board, it's a decent restaurant that cares about it's clients. Every meal seems a little lacking and leaves you wanting a little bit more but the atmosphere and staff are nice which helps to balance the disappointment. We ordered the bruschetta as our appetizer, it was enjoyable but more olive forward than we were expecting. I ordered the arugula salad which did say it had spinach in it. However, it was a mainly spinach salad. I opted to add chicken to it and ask our waitress if the chicken was seasoned and worth the ad and she assured me that it was. Unfortunately it was not seasoned and it was very bland reminding me of the pre-packaged chicken pockets you can buy at Costco. Had I known I wouldn't have added it as it did not add anything to the salad. My friend really wanted the brussel sprout salad and apparently they did not have brussel sprouts so it was only romaine salad so she opted for a pasta dish instead. We appreciated our waitress giving us the heads up and confirming that she still wanted the salad with the changes that would be made to it. We ended the evening by sharing a tiramisu for her birthday along with an espresso martini. The dessert options were nice, but the espresso martini wasn't traditional; it was more Baileys-forward than expected. Overall, it's a decent restaurant for a casual meal but it hasn't offered anything that would make us eager to return or crave another visit. read more

We just happened to be walking by while shopping and decided to stop in. I was not expecting it to be so beautiful on the inside! The menu is on the smaller side but all the classics you'd expect. I went with the spaghetti and meatballs and my brother had the chicken parm. They were good but did seem on the expensive for what you get. The breadstick was super chewy and not my favorite. I probably would not get it again. Looking at all the other Yelp photos, the flatbreads looked amazing and might be the way to go. read more

There's a lot of indoor and outdoor seating and I love the decor and lighting. We did have to wait about 10 mins for them to free up and set a table for 8 people however the service was so good, she got all of our orders right and came by to check on us often. The food was amazing! I ordered off the Devour Indy menu and I had the bruschetta, chicken piccata, strawberry gelato, and blueberry basil cocktail. Everything was so flavorful and I think that was the best gelato I've ever had! read more

I really enjoyed everything about my experience at Theo's. My friend lives in the area and recommended it. Our server was nice and very kind to our 3 young children. The pasta was made fresh and the Alfredo sauce was delicious. The breadsticks and salad were also very tasty. My friend got a pizza and I think I'll probably try that next time! Pretty decor and very clean all around. I would definitely return. read more

We came in to get out of the rain and enjoyed a nice meal. What made everything so memorable is the way the staff handled a power outage. The entire block is out and the staff immediately delivered mini lanterns to tables so that we could see while food was still being prepared. If there's ever another power outage, Theo's is the place to be. Great staff, excellent food and exceptional service. Everyone remained calm and the ambiance was quite nice. read more

Arrived shortly after opening. We were promptly treated and seated. It has a straightforward menu with a variety of options within its simplicity. I ordered a 12-inch chicken pesto pizza with great flavor, but the toppings did not seem hot. My dining partner ordered a build-your-own 12-inch pizza, which appeared hotter and colder than mine. The restaurant's chic and clean atmosphere made it appear high-class, but it was in a mall complex. It was not bad; it would not have been my first choice, but it was where my dining companion wanted to go. read more

I can't say enough good things about our experience here. Four of us went for my wife's birthday and each of us loved what we had. We started with the bruschetta, which was so good that we forgot to take a picture of it before digging in. The pasta dishes were excellent, as were the pizzas. The dough and sauce specifically stood out; it was clear that both were fresh and house-made. We also got a complimentary birthday dessert, which capped off the meal perfectly. The staff was also really friendly, accommodating, and went to great lengths to make my wife's birthday special. Sean, the executive chef, made her an off-menu pesto pasta, and absolutely knocked it out of the park. Between that and his pizza dough recipe, the guy is a total pro. To sum up, this will undoubtedly be a regular place for us going forward, especially if we're spending time on the west side. read more

Food was pretty good very tasty, service was lackluster came in a hour before close on a Monday resturuant was empty and still took a hour to get l, waitress was there one minute gone the next she tried it was very weird vibe seem like they want to be upscale VERY pricey 4 kids and 3 adults was over 200, I mean for a dinner date would be perfect option but for a family dinner you have better options out there for the price read more

Wonderful meal after a movie! The old Cunningham restaurant becomes a new Cunningham restaurant! The layout is the same but it appeared some minor touches were performed onsite the look. Winnie or it may have been winner was our server and she was amazing and attentive! Sean is the manager and made sure to stop by and check on our experience. PROS: wood fire pizza was on fire! calamari with shrimp was a nice appetizer wine list could be longer but they had some great Italian choices including a barbera! CONS: parking is not too bad, but a short walk overall a wonderful evening and we were able to try three different pizzas (one came out on accident and we were not charged for it). read more

We've been to Theo's several times last the end of January. We had the chicken parm, Pasta Bolognese, chicken Alfredo, Salmon, Spaghetti and meatballs, Pizza, minestrone soup, meatball appetizer. Everyone enjoyed their food and portions are large. This is a clean, attractive restaurant and every time we've had great service. Restrooms are clean as well. read more

Theo's impressed me with their diverse menu with handmade pastas, unique pizzas, salads, and more! The restaurant ambiance was a little quieter than I'm used to since I visited on a weeknight, but the service and food was great, as Cunningham restaurants always have consistently delivered for me. I learned their pasta is handmade from Nesso downtown, so you're getting the best ingredient quality and top attention to dish detail over in Plainfield. I visited for Devour Indy and tried a three-course deal with their Brussels Sprouts Caesar salad, Potato Pizza, and Strawberry Gelato. The portions really are as big as the other reviews say - the pizza can easily serve two people, maybe even three if you get salads or starters as well. The Brussels Caesar salad was a dish I will be dreaming of having again and it balanced the richness of the cheese and cream on the pizza perfectly. I typically wouldn't leave room for dessert, but if you do the gelato is a perfect treat! read more

My wife and I came here for Devour on a weeknight for dinner, and the service was very quick (Thanks, Sydney!). We sat at the bar and made a new friend! (pictured) It was relatively quiet, and the bar area is more secluded and has moodier lighting than the main dining area. The cocktails we ordered (Blueberry Basil and Italian Bird) were new flavor profiles for us and they were so good! The chopped salad and brussels sprouts caesar salad were topped with crispy pancetta, and the chopped salad had salami which I've never had before but it was delicious (coming from a guy that's usually not a fan of salads). THE STARS OF THE SHOW were the fennel & sausage pizza and the casarecce. The pasta was fresh and made that day, the fennel and sausage combo was wonderful and the dough was perfectly baked and not too crispy, and the beef and pork ragù were simply perfect. We have struggled to find a really good Italian restaurant that we both love but the entrees alone knocked it out of the park. The tiramasu looked and tasted great, and it was an excellent light finish to the meal. All for a reasonable price! Will 100% be back for the lasagna! read more

Cunningham restaurant group has another addition to their portfolio of Indy restaurants. This is a contemporary Italian joint that features homemade pasta in a modern setting. It occupies the space formerly utilized by Stone Creek. It has a pretty hip, lively interior with some good music playing in the background. I went with the Bucatini and Pomodoro sauce served with meatballs. I loved the Bucatini - I wish more Italian restaurants would offer it. It makes for a fuller bite compared to regular spaghetti. Sauce was really good too. Good garlic flavor in there with fresh basil mixed in at the end. Meatballs were incredibly light - almost to a fault. They had the same density as Tofu. Like eating solid air. Some people like em that way. I like meatballs heavy on the meat and dense. Personal preference. Good craft cocktail selection at the bar and nice people serving them up. All in all its a good place. Definitely will go again. read more

I've been several times to Theo's Italian and every experience is somehow better than the previous one! Last time we went was for Valentine's Day and had an amazing time! The food was just delicious. We had the special menu for the day and every single thing was to die for! Service as always exceeding expectations, and the vibe was incredible that day. It is the first time we go to the second floor and it was just perfect too! I'm guilty of always getting the Cesar salad and extra points for the raspberry cheesecake that was unbelievable!! read more

I went there for a lunch meeting on a Thursday. Great spot in Plainfield in the mall area (The Shops at Perry Crossing). I definitely want to go back for dinner because they just added some new items on the menu. The host and waitress were really nice and it wasn't crowded at all. There were only three tables occupied on the lower level. Quiet atmosphere and it was perfect for a lunch meeting. I ordered off the pick two lunch menu...pepperoni pizza and the chopped salad. Both were good. The pickled onions were amazing the pizza was t greasy at all. Prices were reasonable and the food came out pretty quick. I look forward to going back for dinner. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch. read more

The travel club members ventured to Plainfield, IN near the Indianapolis airport to dine at a newer restaurant of the Cunningham Restaurant Group. Theo's opened in Fall 2023 in the Perry Crossing mall across from the movie theaters. Our group of 12+ ladies received excellent service. Our server, Ellen, was fantastic. Was it because we dined at 12 noon on a rainy January afternoon and there weren't many guests? There's nothing to compare it to-- the orders were correct, drinks were quickly served and no one had to ask for anything twice. Most of us ordered lunch special. The special allows diners to choose 2 items from a) soup; b) salad or c) pinsa-an Italian flatbread read more

I wish I had taken more photos. I loved the decor. Striking and comfortable. Loved the simplicity of the tables, nothing unnecessary, just napkins, flatware and a water glass. We ordered breadsticks with cheese. Both came out hot! I had soup and the Caesar salad with Brussels sprouts. So fresh and crisp. The right amount of dressing, not too goopy. At the table was also linguine, chopped salad and a pinsa. Everything was delicious. We had excellent service! read more

Theo's Italian - Breadsticks with cheese - Italian Near Me - Plainfield, Indiana

I recently dined twice at Theo's Italian in Plainfield, Indiana Meatballs: Delicious with an amazing sauce, though I wished there was more cheese on top!! So good. Breadsticks: Improved since their opening, now a standout with a variety of sauces. Before the bread was subpar. However, on my second visit, they had changed it. When talking to the waitress, she said, they listened to feedback from the service staff and changed it! This was a great decision, way to go, Cunningham! Calamari and shrimp: Good but needed more sauce; our lemon was dry, but the seafood was well prepared. Would reorder without the shrimp.. and with extra lemon just in case. Charcuterie board: Outstanding with a variety of cheeses and delightful homemade Cristinis. A solid 10/10 choice over other appetizers. If you're going to Theo's, order this showstopper. Pork Milanese sandwich: Absolutely amazing! Pair it with their spicy sauce, and the homemade chips are a must-try. Reminded me of a similar favorite dish at Livery. Highly recommend this for lunch. You can definitely take half the lunch portion home. Theo's Italian in Plainfield offers a welcoming ambiance, blending warmth and charm for an enhanced dining experience. If you dined at the previous restaurant in this location, the recent updates in decor bring a refreshing change, making it a beautiful spot for lunch or dinner. While the service staff is accommodating, there's room for improvement in their knowledge about the menu. We appreciated their efforts to address questions about food allergies, though it took a few attempts to get a definitive answer. Overall, a great place with a few areas for enhancement in food allergy knowledge. read more

Excited to try this new Cunningham restaurant! This one was on the first nights open so they are still working out the kinks of service and ordering. The staff is wonderful and explained the new menu. It wasn't too crowded so I'm not sure how loud the restaurant will get it if it was great. I also want to commend the staff on the ability to manage a severe allergy. I have a whey allergy which is not easy at an Italian restaurant and they did spectacular. The told me something was soaked in buttermilk and I was able to find a viable option for myself! They recreated a dish which was above and beyond what I could have imagined! The pizza was delightful! I love anything fig. Mine was modified with no cheese because of the whole no whey thing but didn't takeaway from the flavor. The whole staff is awesome! Give them a try! Ellen was our waitress, she was also training a gentleman who was the nicest person! Absolutely phenomenal staff. read more

Pleasant surprise for lunch after arrival back home from the airport. We wanted craft pizza and Theo's did not disappoint! Once we arrived, we found out this restaurant is part of the Cunningham Restaurant Group (CRG). We have become big fans of CRG as every restaurant we have visited has been a home run. Im a fan of most Cunningham restaurants and Theo's is no exception. I'd say overall, it's generally a five. I've enjoyed everything I've had there. Pizzas are very good. Crust has a great chew to it. Went with my family this time and had the short rib. The short rib was delicious. Carrots were great. Potatoes were a little bland, on their own, but I liked the dish a lot overall. Chicken Alfredo, ravioli, and filet medallions with risotto also got good reviews. Ambiance was nice. Server was warm and nice, but she brought the check without asking about dessert so we had to ask for the dessert menu. The big disappointment was the tiramisu. The taste was fine, but the lady fingers were so waterlogged that you could see liquid coming out when you cut off a bite with your fork. Texturally, it just wasn't great. read more

Super cute restaurant but it ends there. The soup- chicken pastina....bland and like 2 noodles in it. The chopped salad- also bland. Lettuce is bad- had bacon but not a single piece of salami. Seriously this is pitiful. I should have gone to Culver's or chipotle. read more

Our first time at Theo's. Very convenient location for dinner and a movie. Being able to just walk across the street on a cold night is a big bonus. Front of house folks are just starting their industry journey, but they were friendly and attentive. Cocktails had were Theo's Old Fashioned and an Italian margarita. The old fashioned was good. The margarita so so. We had the Burrata appetizer. It was good. We probably could have just ordered two of those and called it a light dinner. For dinner we had the Casarecce and Lobster Tortellini Nero. Both were good but the Lobster won our make believe competition. Creamy and hearty yet bright and unheavy. Will be back for this dish. The Casarecce was good, but left us whelmed. read more

Our travel club traveled to Plainfield for lunch. Upon entering, my first thought - upscale. The decorations in black silver and dark wood was very inviting. Out host dressed all in black quickly took me to our table. There were 14 of us. Separate checks of course . Our server Ellen, did an outstanding job although there were a few hiccups when our food was served. Nothing major. She kept our water and iced teas topped and made sure all was ok. A few decided to sign up for the Cunningham group which took awhile. She took care of checks at the table and it went quick. Not too busy at noon on a Tuesday so noise level was minimal. The only thing I noticed ... staff who came out to assist with service in jeans and t-shirts. Just not what I expected. Would go back for dinner service to try it out. read more

We decided to celebrate my sisters birthday at Theo's. We came at lunch time on a Sunday and it was not busy but people were coming in and out at a steady pace. The restaurant is very beautifully decorated and has a nice atmosphere. Our server was very helpful and attentive. Before the rest of our party got there she asked if we were celebrating anything and made sure to follow up with birthday wishes and dessert for my sister. The table tried the fried calamari and shrimp which was tasty. I had the house side salad as part of my meal but decided to eat it as an appetizer. The salad was fresh and delicious. I ordered the Italian sandwich and really enjoyed that as well. I snuck a few bites of the cheesecake and the tiramisu and was in heaven! Tried Theo's recently for weekend lunch. I had the meatball sub minus the pesto sauce and overall it was just OK. Meatballs were nothing to get excited about and the roll was average. Spouse had one of the pizzas (Margherita) which she loved but when I tried it again was just OK. This is an up and down review as my wife liked it, but I'd probably go somewhere else if offered a choice in the future. It could be summed up by saying I expected more from a CRG Italian restaurant. read more

Theo's is a new Cunningham restaurant that just opened 3 weeks ago in The Shops at Perry Crossing in Plainfield. It is located where Stone Creek Dining used to be. You'll find street parking and a large parking lot behind Theo's (short walk). The upscale decor is lovely, cozy, and comfortable. The trees are perfect for providing privacy and a gorgeous way to visually separate the dining areas. Seating includes several booths and numerous tables. The secluded bar has bar top seating as well as the booths surrounding the bar. The second floor is accessible by stairs and a private area with tables that can be rearranged for a larger group if possible. Groups should definitely call ahead for reservations. Theo's offer a lunch, dinner, and kids menu. The lunch and dinner menu changes seasonally and has a variety of dishes from appetizers, sandwiches, homemade pastas with sauces, specialty pinsa, or a 14" pinsa that serves 1- 2. We ordered a specialty cocktail and a beer while looking over the menu. They do not offer draft beer, only cans and bottles. My husband doesn't eat cheese or dairy, so Theo's wasn't his first choice after browsing the menu. It's my fault as I didn't share the menu! He loves a simple, flavorful spaghetti and meatballs with Italian sausage and a salad with a loaf of warm bread (Vito Provolone's is our favorite). He was a true sport tonight and ordered the bowl of Minestrone soup and eight breadsticks with marinara sauce. The Minestrone soup was loaded with fresh, crisp, tender vegetables in a savory broth. He enjoyed the Minestrone soup and breadsticks smothered in butter. We prefer restaurants that serve complimentary bread and soup or salad with the entree. I feel it is a better value than Theo's. I love Italian food, so I was excited to try everything. I started with the Italian sausage, potato, and white bean soup, which was delicious but unique for many Italian restaurants. I will order again. My entree was the Bucatini and Meatballs in Pomodoro sauce. The sauce was a little bland for me, but Jenna brought parmesan cheese and hot chili flakes that helped greatly. Our server, Jenna, was terrific, efficient, and friendly, plus she knew the menu and ingredients well, removed used dishes when she passed by, and didn't rush us to leave. She was a pro! The only hic-up's we had were minimal and truly not issues. My husband prefers draft beer, and Theo's only serves cans and bottles. He can work with that since it's his personal choice. We were served tempid water without ice in our glasses. I'm not a fan of luck, warm water. Lastly, we prefer a soup/salad option and complimentary bread with our entree. It is a better value and will most likely keep us going to those restaurants over Theo's. I enjoyed my meal, and I look forward to trying Tiramisu and several other entrees. I'll be back but without my husband next time. read more
