The prices are average pizza prices but the pizza was so good. I wish it had a little bit more vegetables on it but still the classic Veggie you couldn't go wrong with it . We also got a small drink which came with a cup that you can keep. The place was small very few seating indoor and a table or two outdoor. Waited almost 40 minutes for a pizza. Whole restaurant got served before my family and some of the families even noticed. Meanwhile, the cashier wandered around through the kitchen, joking with the cooks. The line of people built up and then got bored waiting for her to return to the register. We could all see her. The cooks briefly argued over whether they had cooked some orders. I asked the cashier at the 30 minute mark where my food was and she said it was the next one, then served 5 more pizzas. Eventually one of the cooks came out and asked who I was, then produced my order immediately. 0 apologies from anyone. Tables were all dirty and restroom was disgusting. The best time and place to eat Hot Box Pizza is those late Saturday nights after leaving the Broad Ripple bars and clubs! On the other hand, I don't always want to be drunk or travel 40min to curve my cravings. That's where the Plainfield location comes into play. located in metropolis shopping mall center (perry shopping center i don't know her lol) it's on an inside street near the movie theater or bru burger i received a reward for a free pizza but the website would not let me redeem online. i called the store told the associate my issue and they just took my order via the phone. i drove to pick it up found parking in front of the store a few spaces down and when i walked in my order was almost ready. quick and easy. i got my typical cheese pizza and some breadsticks w/ nacho cheese sauce. i love their sticks and sauce! the parking is not ideal and obviously their business is suited toward mall shoppers but it worked out for me. parking is free, service was quick and easy. food was still warm when i got home. read more

We love Hot Box Pizza, but this particular Hot Box should not take delivery orders if they can't fill them in a reasonable amount of time. I understand that Saturdays are busy pizza nights and we are generally patient people, but the last two times I have ordered delivery from this restaurant, the pizza has been hours late. Not just two hours after the time I ordered the pizza, but two hours later than the quoted delivery time. Both times I called at the 45-1 hour late mark and been assured "it's on its way." This time, 40 minutes after phone call and still no pizza. We won't be ordering from this store anymore. read more

So I am normally a monster Hotbox fan but this time I just was not getting down with it. I ordered the special which is $16 and then a small summer pie somehow my order magically was $33. I am not sure how that happened but they were really busy and I figured I would look at the receipt but didn't get one so just forgot about it. The breadsticks at this location just seemed a little off, dry. Normally they are fantastic. The pepperoni pizza was great and hot but not cut all the way. The summer pie was ok but I would not order it again. Just not ingredients on it. I also was not the biggest fan of the wheat crust. All in all I was a little sad I spent $33 on this meal that night. If I could leave 0 stars I would. My husband and I were in the mood for pizza tonight and decided to give this place a try because it's super close to our apartment. We ordered online with no issues and my husband went to go pick it up. When he arrived they had incorrectly made one of our pizzas. They graciously offered to remake it and offer a $5 credit to our account. The issue is that when they "remade" it they took the same pizza which was now cold, and topped it with mushrooms. Because my husband had to wait for them to "remake" part of the order the whole thing was cold when he got home (we live 5 minutes from the restaurant). I said it was fine and started to eat because it wasn't a big deal. After taking one bite of cold pizza with the toppings LITERALLY falling off I decided to call the restaurant and talk to someone because they must care about the quality and happiness of paying customers, right? WRONG. I asked to speak to a manager. I was put on hold and then the "manager" picked up. He started by saying he was really short staffed and he wasn't "trying to be rude" and asked what was wrong. I got out half of a sentence and he cut me off saying "I gave your husband a $5 credit" and I politely asked if there was anyone else I could speak to since he was busy. He HUNG UP ON ME!!! So shocked. I called back and asked for "the manager's name so I could call someone else and file a complaint and this guy tells me HE IS THE OWNER and hung up on me again! WHAT IN THE WORLD!?! I am so shocked at this entire experience and honestly disgusted. First of all, you got the order wrong. Secondly, a $5 credit does nothing for me because we spent over $30 on cold, ruined food that isn't even correct because the toppings are falling off. Thirdly, the actual owner of a location hung up on a paying customer twice when the store was 1000000% in the wrong. I am going to spread this review around to every social media platform I can and complain to everyone who will listen until I get my $30 back from this jerk. What a horrible experience. It's so sad that we wanted to try somewhere other than a regular chain to see if it was any good and I honestly wish we'd ordered from Pizza Hut. What an experience! We're new to the area and I was a little hesitant to order based on the other reviews. However, the other pizza we've had in Plainfield isn't that great so we thought we'd give it a shot. I've ordered twice now. I got the regular crust the first time and thin crust last night. I also tried the breadsticks. They have nacho as a dipping option (yay!). The breadsticks are simple, but good. I liked both pizza crust styles. Delivery was quick both times and it arrived hot. Delivery driver was great on both occasions as well. The marinara is a bit thicker than I prefer and a little more of a paste than a thinner sauce. But, overall it's the best option we've found here. read more

I hate to give this place one star but I wasn't able to get through one piece of pizza. How can a pizza be both greasy AND dry? I ordered a large spicy pepperoni pizza and cheese sticks with all the sauces. The pepperoni were small and thin, not my favorite. The cheese sticks were extremely greasy and salty. I liked the cheese sauce ok, it was pretty thick, nacho cheese. The pizza sauce wasn't good, chunky with an off flavor that I wasn't impressed with. The crust was thick, maybe that was part of the problem since I like thin. The pizza just gave me heartburn and I was only able to eat one cheese stick and half a slice. The parking is non existent because it is in the Metropolis outside mall. You have to park in the movie theater parking. It was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. The price was reasonable. I have yet to find a pizza place in Indy,especially around Avon that is good. Monicals is the best bet for me, though their pizza is pretty greasy as well. read more

Decided to try it out with a Groupon deal. Definitely wouldn't pay $3.99 for breadsticks - they were pretty dry and nothing special. I always hate it when you have to pay for an extra dipping sauce, but even those didn't redeem the breadsticks themselves. We got the "HotBox" special pizza - pepperoni and banana peppers- on a whole wheat crust. The pepperoni were good, overall the pizza was definitely "meh". Oh my, this business needs some love. Maybe it is because I have only been eating at this location for the past year or so but I have never had a truly "bad" experience here. First, let me say I have eaten at 4 different Hot Box locations, Purdue, B'Ripple, downtown and here. This location I have probably visited the most for something other than breadsticks...I love Hot Box breadsticks! Don't know what it is about them, but they are addicting and I randomly crave them and am so glad they are on the west side nowadays. I will admit, the last time I got them (last week) something seemed slightly off but I am hoping was just a fluke and next time will be back to it's regular deliciousness. I am a huge fan of both the garlic and ranch dipping sauces! We've ordered a few different pizzas, different crusts, toppings, etc. Always good, tons of customization options which I LOVE at a pizza place. We got The Aloha on hippie crust last time and it was great. We used online ordering for the first time too and it was hot & ready on time! Excellent. The occasional service experience can be slightly less than friendly but most everyone here has been great. I will probably be back soon, to make sure the breadsticks are back to normal! read more

Well I should have gone to our normal Avon location. Recently ordered for pick up. Given 15 time frame. Got there in 20 so it would be ready. No. A 15 minute wait. They were quite busy and maybe short staffed. They also kept my coupon which normally makes perfect sense, but Avon location always let us keep and reuse it a few times. to clarify, this is the hotbox pizza at perry crossing shopping mall i'm talking about (2499 perry crossing way). i'm writing this on november 7th. i just went in wanting to get some breadsticks which i had been looking forward to my entire shift. came in around 8:30 or so, i asked the guy at the counter about the free breadsticks that you get if you text a certain number, which is posted on the wall. he said "normally we do that but, not right now, i'm the only one here... and i gotta prep them... so i can't, sorry" and then walked away before i could say anything. i would have ordered a pizza or something if breadsticks were that much of an issue ‍ now i'm going to a different hotbox pizza. i'm normally chill about this type of stuff but that was seriously so lame. read more

After seeing all of the negative reviews I though I owe it to Hot Box to post my experiences. I live within walking distance and when this place first opened I was thoroughly excited to have another choice for pizza other than the stale national chains. My first few times there, however, were actually pretty terrible. Between messing up my order and under cooking my bread sticks, I had enough reason to never patronize this place again, except that when cooked properly, their pizza and bread sticks. is second to none (in my humble opinion.) A few months went by and I happened across a Groupon for Hot Box so I decided to give them another shot. The Groupon was a major discount, but the most surprising thing, was that they actually told me that I could keep using it over and over. I used that Groupon about 4-5 times before it expired and never had another problem with service since. Fast forward today, I eat there on my "cheat" days at least every other week. It's the only food that I am willing to break diet for. Their service has actually been more than stellar lately. The last time I ordered pickup there, my newly activated debit card kept getting declined, so they comped my entire meal! In summary, this place is great. Don't let one or two bad experiences sway your opinion of it. For me they've more than made up for any and all mistakes they've made. read more

This was my first time ordering Hot Box Pizza. I had seen one of their delivery vehicles while I was out and about one day and I thought to myself that I really wanted to try something different. BIG MISTAKE!....BIG...BIG....BIG...MISTAKE!!!! This had to be the absolute worst pizza I have had in my life. I would have much rather had a frozen Totino's vs this pizza, (if that is what you want to call it). I ordered a large pizza with basically all the meats, extra cheese. I also ordered a small order of cheese stix (Ci-Ci's is wonderful!). A salad and extra nacho cheese sauce. My order came to over $35! Yes, that price was for extra menu items and extra this and extra that, but I could have received the same for at least $10 less from Pizza Hut. I will admit the "Flavor" was OK, but could not even chew the Pizza Stix or the Pizza Crust. The toppings could be lifted off in one piece as if it was all glued together. It was if it was made of plastic! Simply could not chew it. Ended up scraping all the toppings off, cut it up with a steak knife, added more mozzerella cheese and made it bearable to eat. We ordered pizza with light sauce and it came out with extra sauce, they remade it and it came out the same. Our breadsticks were cold and so was the sauce. The restaurant is freezing and asked if they cold turn the temperature up a little warmer and they said they don't control the air, I find that hard to believe. This review needs a bit of background. A few days ago, I went to the downtown location, where they had some technical difficulties and I had to wait 20-25 minutes for the pizza. As a result, I received 2 certificates for the "Deal" (pizza, sticks, 2 drinks). I took those certificates to this location, and was told they were for $2 off of the deal. Despite my logical protests and fantastic reading ability, they would not work to help us out. The certificate clearly stated it was for a free pizza, sticks, and drinks, which means this location literally worked us over. If hotbox management is reading this review, I personally will never go to this location again and will make sure no one in my office will go there either. read more
