Yum! Started with an appetizer of shrimp and calamari which was very good. My wife went with a Fig Pig Goat pizza and I went with the Meat Sweats. The pizza comes out on a wooden board, the crust is crispy and delicious, but not too thick or thin. We were greeted by two very nice hostesses, who sat us immediately and our server, Max, was solid. I can truly say that I have not had real, fresh made, pasta since I was last in Florence, Italy. Thus is no longer true - having just eaten Theo's Lasagna and tasted my wife's Ravaoli. As usual, Cunningham has brought us another gem of a restaurant here in Plainfield. The updated atmosphere from the previous restaurant makes for a good dining experience. First time here, it was 5 Star for the waitress we got, 3 stars for the food quality standards. We ordered the lobster pasta and the flavors were pretty much there taste wise but had absolutely ZERO lobster flavor or I think any lobster period. The "sauce" in it was delicious! but it was the most runny sauce I've ever had, it was more like a cream wine broth more than any sauce, needs thickening greatly. But I would order again, and ask for some Parmesan to add so it thickens up a bit. 7/10 for the execution 8.5 for taste. The artichoke buratta was ok but definitely never going to get it again for the price it was sold at. Taste to amount you get vs price just fell super flat and will be something we will avoid in the future. 5/10 value 7/10 taste. The shrimp and calamari was top notch! It wasn't over cooked and melted in your mouth for being fried which is hard to achieve in most restaurants. Ah Theo's, another Cunningham restaurant and they're doing just fine. The service was good and the food was also good. Orders around the table included the bucatini & meatball, four cheese ravioli, and the casarecce. All the dishes were really good. The house Old Fashioned was tasty and unique with its bay leaf and brown sugar. My wife order "the usual" and it was equally tasty! It may be that I am spoiled when it comes to Italian restaurants in Indy. I really don't have any complaints for Theo's and lord knows if you've read my reviews on most if not all other Cunningham restaurants then you almost always hear me rave about them. That said, when you've been to Iozzo's or Mama Coralla's it's tough to get that 5th star from me in comparison. I'll definitely be back to Theo's for another outing and I'll never be the veto if someone else wants to go. read more

My family and I have always been huge fans of The Cunningham Restaurant Group this new restaurant is another hit! The food was very delicious and everyone there was super friendly. My personal favorite was the margherita pinsa. The dough was delicious, the fresh garlic slices was a great added touch, and the tangy marinara sauce was so, so good. Another Cunningham establishment in Plainfield.. they have this corner sown up for sure ! Our small group are all "card carrying" members of their loyalty program, so we were ready to try the newest spot. There was some confusion on our reservation, but it got sorted out.. at 6 pm on a weeknight they were getting busy. They sat 5 of us in a booth.. it was pretty cozy.. a table would have been nicer, but not available? We got our menu promptly and they poured our water glasses .. room temperature.. no ice .. Tap water.. Ok... unusual. So the menu is not large... Salads, pasta and Pinsa's. .. their name of the flatbread pizza, similar to Panera. We skipped any appetizers so I can't speak to this. I ordered a tequila margarita cocktail that was the best part of the meal, very tasty and a good pour. Of the 5 of us.. 3 ordered the Pinsa's .. one the Fig style , another a meatball and I had the margherita style .. 2 others ordered pasta and side salads. We also,had a order of breadsticks. The salads all got positive reactions.. they appeared fresh and a fair size. The breads were just right.. hot, cheesy and warm. Our mains came out pretty quickly and looked good.. I can say I was not impressed with my Pinsa .. not much seasoning at all and crust was rather chewy.. not my favorite.. I did bring most of it home and doctored it up with some oregano and a bit of sausage and garlic. It help make the leftovers edible. The two pasta dishes seemed to be a disappointment.. one of our group got hers taken off her check .. the other did not like the texture of her pasta but did ask for a to go box . The decor is stark dark and modern.. not very comfortable to my taste.. some may like that look. I will go back again down the road and try another dish, just not anytime soon. Enjoyed all of our meals. Unusual pizzas not your typical toppings. I loved the pig, ham and goat cheese pizza. Friend had lasagna pizza and another friend ordered the 5 cheese lasagna entree. The breadsticks are fantastic. Prices are reasonable and excellent service. I did feel the lasagna entree was pretty small. The interior hasn't changed much from Stonecreek days. My wife and I had dinner there with my son, daughter in-law and granddaughter. We thought it was kind of expensive. Everything was alacarte. If you want bread with the entree you have to buy it. My entree was very tasty. My son and daughter had a chicken pasta dish which didn't have much taste and very little chicken. The bill was $165 and we didn't buy any alcohol. Everything was wonderful! We had the sausage bean soup for appetizer and it was amazing. My hubby has a gluten sensitivity and it was so refreshing to be able to get any of the pinsas (pizza) made with a gluten free dough. The taste was amazing. Went there for the first time tonight. Not busy but not empty either. Atmosphere seems very similar to Stone Creek - not much modified which is fine bc it was a beautiful restaurant to start with. Pros: Very friendly staff, attentive, and prompt. Cons: The food was terrible. Like we didn't eat it bad. Started w breadstick and cheese dip. This is a loaf of ciabatta that's been sliced and DROWNED in olive oil with a side of carryout pizza cheese sauce. So much oil it squeezed out when you ate them and they were sitting in a pool of it. One order of Linguine: the chicken (boiled) was rubbery and it had zero seasoning. Imagine throwing a plain jar of Alfredo sauce on boiled chicken. I promise you there was not an ounce of seasoning. Second order: Bucatini and meatballs. I have never eaten a meatball that crumbled apart when you bit it. It was almost like cheap meatloaf consistency. I would have guessed it was in full liquid form at some point and the molded into a ball - no way this could be rolled or patted into a ball - it was like congealed beef powder. None were eaten after first bite. Third item: Four cheese ravioli. This is not ravioli. It is a pasta square with a 1/4 teaspoon of cheese then folded like a wonton. The Italian crabmeat Rangoon apparently. It tasted average but was maybe a single 6 inch line of these tiny "ravioli." Last complaint: the Parmesan came in a pizza place round glass shaker jar. Even Olive Garden grinds fresh Parmesan. Here's the thing...I paid $86 w tip for the above and one soda (rest had water). That's way too much to leave most of a meal sitting on a table then making a stop at Portillo's bc everyone was still hungry. Don't go. Don't try it bc it's new. Just don't....you're gonna walk away irritated. read more

While the dinner was good, we noticed a steady water leak happening in the ceiling over the kitchen being that it's kind of an open kitchen. So I was worried about the sanitation and if it would fall into any food. And also there were alot of gnats around in the inside dining area. I'm not sure where they came from but we spent the dinner just swatting them away in between bites. Again, we love Cunningham and might come back again since our pastas were pretty good and the server was so nice. I just hope they can get that ceiling leak fixed. read more

I was so excited for an Italian restaurant to open in Plainfield, specifically one from The Cunningham Group since we frequent several of their other restaurants. Unfortunately, I was highly disappointed. The ambiance was definitely the highlight, a carryover from when it was Stonecreek. The service was pleasant, though I came in on a Sunday between the lunch and dinner rushes, so I can't say how they would hold up under pressure. The food, which should have been the star of the show, was underwhelming. I ordered the Fried Calamari and Shrimp appetizer and the Margherita Pinsa as my entree. The appetizer was overly saturated with oil and the aioli was salty with no real nuance to the flavor. The pizza, which is what I was most looking forward to, fell flat. The crust was undercooked and the sauce tasted generic. I won't be returning to Theo's, which is a bummer since I feel like Hendricks County is sorely missing Italian options. read more

Food is average and QUITE OVERPRICED. Starting with NO ICE in our water (hot day and sitting outside) was a clear sign of the lack of nuance and detail from a restaurant that tries to "wow" you with "upscale"-ness. Not impressed. Then a newbie male server, quite UNenthusiastic, took our order. A Manager brought out our food (the inside was empty of customers) if two salads and a chix parm sandwich. This was 4;30pm and the menu had only 8 (eight?!!) entrees, the rest 5 salads and some pizzas. Not impressed. Our food was...okay; $9 for SMALL salad with $5 EXTRA charge grilled chicken. Pricey! NOTE: NO MENTION OF BLEU CHEESE on the chopped salad. I HATE it (like MANY PEOPLE) and that's UNACCEPTABLE to not disclose. After about 10 minutes waiter kid asked if I wanted parm cheese for salad. I said "yes please". He never came back with it. Only remembering he forgot it while waiting for payment/tip. Not impressed. The PAYMENT METHOD is actually terrible as waiter did the card-scan at table, handed car reader to us making small talk while WAITING THERE until I tipped and finished. THIS IS TERRIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE imho for the customer. Not impressed. $60 for three SMALL meals, two were salads and one sandwich with only waters to drink. NOT IMPRESSED. MENU maybe was some lunch menu ? TINY amount of choices. I do NOT recommend this place at all to be honest. This was mayyyybe a $35 type meal it's no wonder why there are ALWAYS Indeed job openings for Theo's.
