25 minute wait on a Friday evening, with live music by Randy McQuay. We chose to wait after reading all the great recommendations, and it was well worth it. The two girls at the front worked efficiently to get everyone seated as quickly as possible. The server was fast, and the food was fantastic. The pierogies were a great start, and everything we ordered was delicious. I didn't care for the shredded mozzarella on the garden salad when I ordered a blue cheese dressing, but a total 5-star meal nonetheless. Loved the music as well! read more

Great food and a variety of choices. Amazing atmosphere. I was so surprised by the variety of the menu and it was had to choose. I decided on the St. Crouix burger and it was wonderful. The server was great and very patient with my friend who has trouble deciding on what to eat, especially with such a various menu. The live music was the right touch for the environment; not too loud at all. The different sections of the restaurant and how they were decorated were amazing. Chose this spot based on other reviews as we were driving through Ocala. The decor is backyard kitschy. Old lawn furniture used for seating. Our table had chairs that were much higher than the table. Kind of awkward for eating. The waitress was very polite and attentive. I chose the 1/2 salad and 1/2 flatbread special. Both were very good. My husband had a fish wrap that also was good. We were both turned off that the flip chart of specials on our table was so filthy that I wanted to remove it. It was disgusting. Bathroom wasn't very clean either. Made us wonder about the kitchen. This is such a great neighborhood restaurant. I am glad so many people are supporting a local business. The food is innovative as they continue to have fresh new options on the board. This was our first time here. You really cannot tell it's a restaurant when you go past it. Once inside, it's kind of odd. It's supposed to be like a backyard so it's kind of cool, but also like a hodgepodge of different furniture. It has some cool decor but also tacky decor. There are a few TVs here, all sports. The server was attentive, almost too much, and friendly, but I got annoyed. I tried to ask what was better between two dishes and twice I got the same answer. They're two different meals. Okay and your point? If I'm comparing a burger to pizza, I can easily suggest which one is better even though they're different. We had the cheese bread. It was pretty good. We were told most things are made in house so the bread was made here. It was a good app, but it needed more seasoning. We got the pizza, which was good, but they charge a little too much in my opinion for each topping. $2.25 per topping. I felt the pizza needed more flavor. The crust was good though. Then we had dessert. My fiancé had the cannoli. He said it was pretty good, a unique flavor being homemade, but I didn't like it. I had the peach cobbler, which was okay. Salad good but could be better with kalmata olives instead of black olives but still good. Steak and cheese ... I don't often give a 5 star rating but this rivals anything as the same thing in Philly! Absolutely delicious on homemade buns! I'd be hard pressed to order anything but. The food is pretty awesome. I had the saint crux burger which was freaking spectacular despite the fact it was undercooked. And by undercooked I mean partially raw and I asked for med oer med rare. Another burger at our table wasn't cooked enough either but still damn good. Once they get the cooks to master the art of whatever it is to cook a thick burger to order look out. Very cute little place in a scary strip mall. You go in, and it really is set up like a backyard barbeque, with picnic tables and yard chairs, empty 6-pack containers for the condiments. Very cute. The variety of things on the menu was great. I decided on the angry orchard burger, which might not be the exact name. It was very juicy, with a lot of yummy ingredients. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars as opposed to 5, is the fact that though the additions to the burger were good, the burger itself was pretty unremarkable in flavor, kinda bland. Everything we ate was literally doused in onions and sugar ? Everything , mashed potatoes, meatloaf and a rice bowl we got was not only so overwhelmingly sweet, but literally covered in a million huge onion slices I mean I like onions but come on. The perogies were good themselves but once again way too much onion and wayyyy too much garlic oil. The food could have been good if there wasn't ssooo much overkill with everything, sugar, onions, and even garlic. So if you like a lot of sugar and onions, this is the place for you! Brooklyn's has a cool, relaxed atmosphere with its true backyard feel (it's literally a backyard inside). The staff is extremely friendly and the menu has l it of tasty choices. I always say it's impossible to mess up a burger but Brooklyns Backyard proved me wrong! I ordered a cheese burger with fries. For starters my burger was well done and had the texture of a tough meatloaf. And on top of that was extremely extremely salty. And I like my food salty but this was over the top. Boxed food at its best. Poor staff and same for the food. My first time there, I couldn't even get the glass of water I ordered, waitress kept walking by and there were only 4 other people in the joint....during lunch.....after 20 minutes with no water and no one taking my order I left. My second time there was the same thing but I got my water finally but no one came to take my order. I write my reviews and memories of places I go into a composition notebook and when I have free time, I write my reviews. As you mentioned the 3rd time I returned should have shown you as well as any normal person that I don't write reviews and cast judgement if I cant get service, I give each establishment plenty of chances before I write my reviews. If you are upset that you got a negative review, then check yourself in the mirror and recount those 400 customers per day, I think you added one too many zero's to your number. If in fact it is true, then you should have enough money to redecorate your Barn Style ambiance into something more along the lines of oh I don't know....Brooklyn? My wife and I arrived just before 8pm on a Monday. Place was still busy (closes at 9pm), but we were seated quickly. Our server was attentive, and delivered our drinks ($5 martini specials) quickly. We were both satisfied with our orders. My wife had the goat burger (medium rare) with a side of mango coleslaw. She enjoyed the burger, and said the slaw had a refreshing taste. I had the Red Deer burger (medium) with fries. Burger was surprisingly lighter than I would have thought, considering it is made with deer meat. Very flavourful. Fries were a little on the wimpy side, but seasoned nicely. Great drinks, meal, and service, all for under $40. And out in an hour. Can't beat that. read more

This place is really interesting. The decor was cute and different. The service awesome. Our server (Robert) was really nice and suggested an appetizer... it was like fried cheese that melted in your mouth. DELICIOUS. My husband got a Ruben which he liked.
