    Jerk Salmon and Rasta pasta.
    Carla S.

The salmon is a small slim piece with no bbq jerk flavor. The Rasta pasta isn't Rasta pasta at all, it tastes like a cheap pasta sauce, almost as if no cheese is used in the recipe. I purchased buy one get one and I'm left with 2 meals that aren't worth eating at all. The cornbread is nice. That's where the one star went, to a side item.

Brooklyn Waffle House was our first meal after arriving in the city, and it set the bar high! A very welcoming environment, smooth service, and delicious food! We had the buttermilk chicken and waffles a with a side of cheese grits. Everything was delicious! A local gem!

Brooklyn waffle house has the best soul food in Brooklyn. I've been looking for a soul food restaurant that reminds me of cooking in the south and this place definitely gives me those memories. I had Turkey wings which were falling off the done it was so tender and packed with delicious flavor. The Mac and cheese was super cheesy and moist. The customer service was top tier. I definitely recommend this place if you want some great soul food. This inside has a nice ambiance and a nice grass wall for picture.

The owner lied an said I asked for salmon cooked well done ..PROCEEDED TO SEND A BURNT SLITHER .. the uber eats request was for grilled.

if you go onto their store direct reviews, you will see how rude the owner responds to unhappy patrons will all similar complaints. the food is dry! salmon should not be on their menu because its never prepared properly! the owner stands behind staff with poor standards but high prices! wait time is awful. zero accountability for the money an time people waste there. everyone cant be going out their way in this. city to write bad reviews for nothing!

Came here on a gorgeous spring weekday and there was a lite crowd. Was greeted with energy and politeness by the two wonderful hosts. Seared ourslves ( a family party of 3). There is outdoor and indoor seating. Tables are comfortable distance apart from each other both indoor and outdoor. Space is beautifully decorated with nice music playing in the background. We sat indoors and was tended to right away. I ordered the Oreo pancakes and sweet chili chicken, my sister ordered waffles and chicken and my niece Strawberry pancakes. For drinks we ordered strawberry lemonade. The servings for food and drink were def filling. Service was quick. Food came out almost immediately after ordering. This business gets a good amount of take out traffic and I can see why. It was 60 dollars before tip for the 3 of us which is not bad. We drove so I'm not sure if public transportation. They are also on Uber eats and grub hub. Would def recommend and visit again

New spot in Bed Stuy. I've passed by this place few times but the signage never stated when it would open. They had a grand opening about 2 weeks ago. Tried it out today for lunch. Seems like a lot of ppl are excited as well, I saw a lot of deliveries being picked up. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Cash and card accepted. No liquor but tons of lemonade options, coffee and tea. We ordered the following: -Bacon waffle with shrimp $17+ -Strawberry waffle with chicken $15+ -Passion fruit lemonade $3 -Strawberry Lemonade $3 The waffles were excellent, would definitely come back for them. I enjoyed the bacon, it was mixed within the waffle. The Strawberry waffles has like a Strawberry filling/jam that you could put on top of your waffle. The shrimp was seasoned nicely but they were kind of small and fried hard. I added a piece of chicken thigh for $1.50! Not bad. Took home half the waffle and the chicken to finish later. They do have another location on nostrand which has a wider variety of offerings. For my next visit I'd like to try their waffle sandwich or the reggae pasta. Happy to have more variety in the neighborhood. Check out @ifancyny on Instagram for more

    Poor excuse for pancakes!
    C I.

How on earth can anyone make this let alone serve it to another human. Not even a dog should be fed this poor excuse for pancakes. The fact that I was so hungry made me try it & it tasted like complete garbage & spoiled batter mixed wit oil + grease. Absolutely disgusting beyond words. I've always spent hundreds of dollars supporting this business and they keep getting worst every time. Their iced coffee was literally nothing more than milk and ice. Also the only other thing they have that tastes good atp is their fruit punch which is no longer on their menu via Ubereats. A huge waste of my time, money and a complete violation to my tastebuds. I called them and they were unapologetic and of no help. They told me to call Uber eats? How is that even a suggestion. I ended up contacting Uber eats and they would not issue me a refund. I'm done supporting this establishment.

I've been waiting for this place to open for quite some time and noticed it was operational a few weeks ago. Its really nice when the neighborhood gets new places. So invited my friend out and we came for brunch on a Saturday morning. The inside and outside were clean and appropriately spaced. We were seated and shown the menu QR Code by a friendly server. She answered all our questions and we placed our orders. And the wait was on. First the beverages. Water was filtered and really good. My friend's coffee was strong and decent. The oj, not so good. She didn't expect fresh squeezed, but at least a quality store bought variety would have been appreciated. She said the French toast and sausage were ok, but she had a slight allergic reaction to something so she decided to take it home to finish just in case she had a flare up. The red velvet waffle tasted like regular buttermilk, but it was fluffy and delicious. It even reheated well in the toaster oven. Was it worth the $2 upcharge? No, no it was not. The chicken was..... varied. Note: Chicken and waffles are sold with dark meat, leg and thigh or white meat tenders (White meat $3 upcharge). Trying to substitute pieces is a headache. Trust me when I tell you this, it will save you grief. Ok. The leg.... delicious. Juicy, crispy, flavorful and beautifully cooked. The Tenders.... dry and flavorless. I hope they will brine the tenders they way they do the dark meat. I tried reheating an adding sauce at home... nope. Still a struggle. I want to patronize them again, but I think I'll wait a while.

pricey with ambiguous/concerning quality ... the food (excluding the chicken) was pretty good. we got a red velvet waffle with chicken, and the chicken was a bit concerning. it smelled a bit carcassy and even in the pictures, you can see it looks off. we ended up being refunded for the chicken, but other customers sitting opposite to us also were concerned about the quality of the chicken because theirs had feathers on it and it smelled off to them as well. it's fine that we were refunded, but i also looked at the other chickens going out in a box to be delivered, and the quality didn't look to be any better. if i were to come here again, i'd prefer to stay away from the chicken just because it's really concerning and it could be that the chicken isn't being refrigerated at the right temperature and everything including the oil could be spoiled. as for the rest of the food, i found the omelette to be quite tasty, but i saw in other reviews they noted the food didn't come out hot but warm almost as if it had been reheated rather than cooked from scratch upon ordering. the home fries were good, same with the toast. my friend liked his waffles and said they were really good. the service here was good, but they weren't overly attentive so it's not exactly a diner experience (not that they claimed to me - but just have those casual expectations), but they were still very friendly regardless. it would be nice if they offered a non dairy milk option for their coffee too. i'm a bit hesitant to come here again. everything else we got excluded the refunded chicken came out to $38 for a meal for two which is on the pricey considering the ambiguous quality and C rating the restaurant has. there were ants crawling around on the walls while we were eating too, which made the experience a little less pleasant than it already was re/ the chicken. i really hope they can improve the quality of their chicken because this place otherwise is really inviting and has a cool menu, but the prices are too expensive in my view for the quality.

I just kind of stumbled on this spot to check it out, let's get into it. The service was decent no complaints the staff was nice but I feel they were a bit lackadaisical why I say this is because they didn't bring my order out completed but w.e, the place was clean very nice looking but I didn't like that the 2 seater table was so small came for a meeting so some extra space would have been nice. Now to the food, the portion size is good definitely enough for 1 person, I had the strawberry waffles & chicken. I would say it's right on par with any other chicken and waffle spot! it was really good I enjoyed every bite & lick! they give you a special strawberry sauce to put on your waffles ugh so good! i'll definitely be back. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS SPOT

    Good eats.

I stopped writing reviews because Ive been a-little busy but I have to write one about this place because every single time I eat here I'm never disappointed. Food is always on point . Crispy, flavorful chicken, a variety of waffles to choose from and they're all delicious . Mom came to visit me and I decided to bring her to there for brunch . Needless to say she enjoyed it . Love it and its local . Thx BWH.

I chose this place because I had visited a few times in the past and expected a positive environment. While there, I ran into an old friend who was accompanying individuals with special needs. They informed us about the R&B karaoke event, and we attempted to participate respectfully and supportively. Unfortunately, after participating, the DJ became rude and dismissive. My friends decided not to continue because each time they attempted to request a song, the DJ was unkind and impatient, seemingly unaware--or unconcerned--that they were individuals with special needs. The situation escalated when I attempted to calmly address the disrespect. Instead of listening, the bartender repeatedly accused me of being drunk simply because I was defending myself after a rude comment. I was not intoxicated; I was advocating for respectful treatment. Even the DJ's own companion appeared visibly shocked by the comment made toward me, as if anticipating a reaction. I remained composed and professional despite being deeply upset. What disappointed me most was the staff's decision to defend the DJ's behavior rather than acknowledge how inappropriate and disrespectful the interaction was. This reflects poorly on how this establishment treats people--especially those who deserve patience, understanding, and dignity. I came expecting an enjoyable brunch experience and left feeling ashamed for having trusted this place. It is clear that the venue prioritizes protecting mediocre DJs with minimal local popularity over treating customers with basic respect. Poor organization, lack of proper event management, and unprofessional staff behavior made this experience unacceptable. I have visited many establishments and have never felt so disrespected. I will not be returning.

TL;DR version- Some high highs and some very low lows. Hot Figs was a fun app. By a mile, the soups…read morewere the favorites, so I would recommend the Pepián or Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo. Nice happy hour and a large chocolate drink selection I was at this unique Guatemalan (ish) restaurant a while back with one of my groups. I said "ish" because the menu has dishes from all over, ranging from sandwiches to BBQ ribs to Guatemalan and Mexican soups. It's out there, and even though not everything works that well, it's fun, and if you can't find something you want to order here, you probably shouldn't go out to restaurants. There was also live jazz music that night, which was loud but nice to listen to. Since it was happy hour, a bunch of us got drinks. I went with a maracuya margarita, which was decent; someone else had a jalapeño margarita, someone had a beer, and someone had a mojito. There were a few nice hot sauces on the table, with the red one reminding me of salsa macha as it had a smoky kick and a spicier green sauce reminiscent of ají verde. They gave us some complimentary blue corn chips and a very mild black bean dip, which was tasty enough and hard to complain about, as it was free. From the appetizers, we got the Hot Figs for $15.95, consisting of honey goat cheese, corn tortilla chips, and plum + pumpkin seeds. This was a unique and fun blend and reminded me more of something you would find in a wine bar. The mix of sweet and salty, with a bit of crunch from the seeds, was nice. This was good, and I would recommend it for a table rather than for a solo diner. There was also The Zingy Salad for $21.95, featuring zucchini spirals, yuzu, tomato, onion, cilantro, pumpkin seeds, and a jalapeño infusion. $18.95. The salad was fine with a bit of crunch and a mild spiciness. It was fine, though a bit wet, for lack of a better word. The best dishes of the night were the soups, which each had its own distinct flavor profile. My sight presence went to the Pepián for $21.95, consisting of chicken, pumpkin/sesame seeds, green tomatillo, cinnamon, cumin, black pepper, carrots, chili coban/pasta/guaque, and potato + rice. There was plenty of tender chicken inside, with the soup having a nice roasted flavor with some spice and a bit of sourness. The potatoes and rice on the bottom added more sustenance to this dish. Almost equally delicious was the Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo for a dollar more with shredded chicken, tomato, black pepper, garlic, onions, peas, chickpeas, corn, achiote, chipotle, Monterey jack cheese, and crunchy blue corn tortilla chips. By comparison, this was a bit heartier, with the melted cheese and shredded tortilla chips inside, similar to soups found in Mexican cuisine. While I also liked the mix of veggies a bit more in this one, as it added a bit more texture, I still slightly preferred the flavor of the other soup, as I usually prefer a bit more spice. The rest of the food was fine. The TPC sandwich for $19.95 with chicken, peanut butter, coconut cream, ginger, cilantro, pickled carrots, and lime was fine. For the number of ingredients, I found it a bit sweet, likely from the cream and the peanut butter mix. The bread was nice, but it also fell apart. It came with a nice side salad with a good vinaigrette. The most expensive at $24.95 were the Slow Cooked BBQ Ribs, consisting of baby back ribs with rice and beans. The ribs were almost a bit too tender as they lacked any bite, which was nice, but the sauce was a bit too generic tasting, reminding me of Sweet Baby Ray's or something similar. The rice and beans were standard. This was also OK. Next came some dessert. There was first the $12.95 Rosemary Churros served with dulce de leche & chocolate dips. While I'm not sure if it worked, the rosemary did add a unique smell and a bit of flavor, and at least it wasn't generic. The churros themselves were hot, and the sauces were standard, with my preference being the dulce de leche. I also ordered a Champurrado for $7.95, which was fine. It wasn't as thick as I expected, though perhaps the style is a bit different than the champurrados I rarely buy from Mexican street carts. The chocolate flavor was very nice, though, and I like that it wasn't too sweet. Another person got a $4 Alfajor, which I got a bite of, which was standard. This place is a bit hard to rate. The two soups were wonderful, I liked the appetizers, and I found a couple of the other dishes just OK. Overall, it was a good meal, but I'm not craving to go back. This would be the perfect 3.5, but I'll round up as that doesn't exist.
