Great food and service. I get lunch or breakfast here most days. I call ahead and pick up. In and out very quickly.

I ordered a blt on a roll with mayo and when I got it it was a cold blt with no mayo and on a stale roll. Very disappointing and the restaurant didn't offer to do anything about it. I'll never order here again. read more

I placed an order and specifically selected turkey bacon due to religious dietary restrictions. Unfortunately, I received a mix of turkey and pork bacon, which is completely unacceptable. This isn't just a preference issue -- it's a matter of respecting dietary needs, and this mistake shows a serious lack of care. On top of that, one of the drinks I paid for (a lemonade) was missing. The printed receipt that came with the order clearly shows the correct items -- turkey bacon and the full drink list -- so the issue wasn't with how I placed the order, but with how it was fulfilled. When I called to raise my concerns, I was told that turkey bacon isn't even an option on the app. However, that's not true -- I selected it myself, and it appears on my receipt. When I offered to share a photo of the receipt, I felt dismissed rather than heard. I paid $59.39 for an order that was incorrect, incomplete, and poorly handled. I didn't even look at the other items ordered as I was and still am frustrated. The lack of accountability and care from the staff only added to the frustration. I'm very disappointed. Over the past year the quality of the food has declined so much. Every time I order there is a problem with my order. Whether the order is wrong, things get over cooked, undercooked, or simply the quality of the food is not fresh. Things have been taken off the menu that are considered diner staples. I literally just got food from this establishment and I'm so disappointed in the food, I remember when they first opened the food used to be so good now it's very basic and blah. I ordered the sausage platter for delivery. The potatoes were underwhelming. I couldn't tell tHey had been on the grill at all. The pork sausage was flavorless. I ordered a $4.50 slice of carrot pond cake, that came in prepackaged wrapper. I was a slice of pond cake that you would buy in the local bodega for $1.00. I normally don't venture to this side of the 'hood, but I was in the area to getting my taxes done, and had time to kill, so we stopped in here for breakfast. I had a standard breakfast platter (eggs, bacon, home fries) and although it was a safe dish it was just OK. The home fries seemed to be the leftovers of a large batch, bacon was dried out and overcooked and the eggs were OK. My boyfriend had the felix skillet - which was served in a bowl not a skillet. The cheese draped over the dish was a straight up Kraft american cheese slice. You can clearly see it was squared. Everything else in it was pretty good though. Nothing mind blowing. Prices are nice and cheap. The service was awesome. Our waitress was charming, sweet and very attentive. read more

Stopped by here cos i was workin in the area and was starving!!! Upon entering i was immediately greeted by the men at the front that were takin phone orders and preppin deliveries. I was seated and the waitress came over to greet me. Got me coffee and even asked if i wanted water which I totally had forgotten (must stay hydrated!) when she returned i was ready to order after she explained the item i was interested in. Food came quickly and i was so happy to see all the things i need were right at my table, jam, salt, pepper, ketchup, hot sauce, syrup. Why arent all restaurants like that?? I really enjoyed my lunch here and i watched the waitress provide A+ service to each and every customer. If im ever around the area i'd definitely visit again. Stay the same guys!! read more

This eatery is actually physically hidden. It's not located in the most desirable area but it's definitely a place that deserves at least one visit (if you are around). And also too, there isn't too many options around the area so it's refreshing to have a place that serves decent food. My coworker and I were starving and we wanted to get something to eat and relax before heading back to the office. He has been to this diner many times and have a good rapport with the manager and waitress. The waitress, by the way, was a sweetheart. She had a gentle personality and was very accommodating. Prices were standard, a bit on the higher end for some meals but most of the prices won't break your pockets. But I'm sure prices may not be a huge factor to the general public since this is the only diner that serves worthwhile breakfast and lunch all day. I ordered an egg white omelette with cheddar cheese and turkey bacon with rye bread, oatmeal and tea. The whole meal was decent. It was a bit oily (the omelette and bacon) though. The oatmeal was good and standard. Since we are usually in the area, I can totally see myself visiting from time to time. Parking in the area might be a headache but you will find one. I ordered from here on UberEats. It was a waste of money. The grits were inedible as they were extremely watery with no flavor. French toast was bland and boring. East Market Diner is a terrific spot. Overall, great atmosphere, ambiance, cleanliness and customer service. East Market Diner has an excellent Greek Salad, give it a try I believe you would really like it, I certainly love it. Good, solid option in an East NY industrial area. The diner itself has gone through renovations and they've done a good job in doing so. The kitchen is visible from the seating area which is a plus. It's clean and organized. They added two flat screen TVs which is cool and the waitress (an older woman dressed in black) was extremely friendly and got the job done. Working in the area lately, and searching out somewhere to get some real, non fast food, & found East Market off Yelp! Nice neighborhood diner atmosphere, with quick prompt service. My time was short, so got a Cobb wrap to go. It was huge, and tasted excellent. The flavors of the grilled chicken and avocado worked well together, and recommend you give it a try if your looking for a lighter, healthier choice to eat. read more

Turrrible food. Awful service. There's a waitress at East Market who stands at the counter on a lean, as if she's waiting to be served. Ordered a so-called breakfast skillet topped with cheese. Potatoes were tough. Cheese was more like a wax covering and it wouldn't melt. I picked it up with my fork to see if it was still in the wrapper. Not so nice location either. read more

Sometimes they don't put the pickle with the sandwiches, which is pretty upsetting especially if you are looking forward to that delicious pickle. Also, prices keep going up but the portions getting smaller. By the way, $3.50 for a large ice coffee is ridiculous! Especially since it's not even that large. I used to order from east diner market all the time. Same order, either the pancakes or the french toast with fried eggs, turkey sausage and turkey bacon. I always order delivery, my order usually is $13 to $15 dollars the most, today i forgot to ask the price and suddenly my order was $24. Thats almost 10 dollars in difference. And when i called the restaurant the told me they did changed the prices but why didn't they tell me? And to put the cherry on top the guy on the phone was very disrespectful and discourteous. I will never order from here again. I didn't even step into the place and the customer service disgusted me, so I wouldn't think of going to the physical location. I'd written a tip regarding my experience there a week ago, but just recalling it aggravates me and prompts me to write a review of my experience. My boyfriend works in this area and in accompanying him to the office one morning and finding myself nibblish, I turned to Yelp to assist me in finding a fulfilling and inexpensive breakfast. I'm no snob, and a diner in a high volume neighborhood with solid reviews is usually a very safe bet for good eats. When I called and placed my order for 2 eggs with a hard white and soft yolk, the woman on the phone asked, 'You mean sunny side up?' No, I mean hard, set whites and a soft, liquid, warm yolk. 'That's too complicated,' she retorted. 'You mean over easy.' That should have sent a little red flag up, but hunger got the best of me. My order arrived in about 15 minutes, a fair time considering I am not sure exactly how far by bike they are from where I was, but when I opened the container, I discovered that RAW egg whites were running all over -and being absorbed by - my pancakes. I was instantly and completely disgusted. Threw the entirety of the contents into the trash and promptly called Happy for breakfast. My friend and I hiked from Queens into Highland Park, walking around the Reservoir and ready for a good meal- wanting breakfast at 2pm! We couldn't have found a better place, hiking further to East Market Diner. Waitress Pat greeted us as if we were regulars and was as gracious and pleasant as can be. The food- between us we had an omelet, pancakes and home fries- was fantastic, and the coffee was the best.
