Tbh i have always passed this place for years on my way to work. Decided to give it a try about a week ago and now i make it my business to not be late to work just so i can get breakfast from here. I ordered the pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon. I specified i wanted extra butter and the lady in the front was very accommodating. Also asked for crunchy bacon and i was not disappointed. i also told her how i like my coffee the second time and she made sure to make to my desire. Overall love this place. It is now my to go. Unfortunately she informed me they close right after lunch around 2pm so im not able to get dinner on my way home from work. high recommend this place and dont be shy To specify how you want your order cause the front lady will make it how you want it. I normally don't venture to this side of the 'hood, but I was in the area to getting my taxes done, and had time to kill, so we stopped in here for breakfast. I had a standard breakfast platter (eggs, bacon, home fries) and although it was a safe dish it was just OK. The home fries seemed to be the leftovers of a large batch, bacon was dried out and overcooked and the eggs were OK. My boyfriend had the felix skillet - which was served in a bowl not a skillet. The cheese draped over the dish was a straight up Kraft american cheese slice. You can clearly see it was squared. Everything else in it was pretty good though. Nothing mind blowing. Prices are nice and cheap. The service was awesome. Our waitress was charming, sweet and very attentive. read more

Stopped by here cos i was workin in the area and was starving!!! Upon entering i was immediately greeted by the men at the front that were takin phone orders and preppin deliveries. I was seated and the waitress came over to greet me. Got me coffee and even asked if i wanted water which I totally had forgotten (must stay hydrated!) when she returned i was ready to order after she explained the item i was interested in. Food came quickly and i was so happy to see all the things i need were right at my table, jam, salt, pepper, ketchup, hot sauce, syrup. Why arent all restaurants like that?? This eatery is actually physically hidden. It's not located in the most desirable area but it's definitely a place that deserves at least one visit (if you are around). And also too, there isn't too many options around the area so it's refreshing to have a place that serves decent food. My coworker and I were starving and we wanted to get something to eat and relax before heading back to the office. He has been to this diner many times and have a good rapport with the manager and waitress. The waitress, by the way, was a sweetheart. She had a gentle personality and was very accommodating. Prices were standard, a bit on the higher end for some meals but most of the prices won't break your pockets. But I'm sure prices may not be a huge factor to the general public since this is the only diner that serves worthwhile breakfast and lunch all day. I ordered an egg white omelette with cheddar cheese and turkey bacon with rye bread, oatmeal and tea. The whole meal was decent. It was a bit oily (the omelette and bacon) though. Good, solid option in an East NY industrial area. The diner itself has gone through renovations and they've done a good job in doing so. The kitchen is visible from the seating area which is a plus. It's clean and organized. They added two flat screen TVs which is cool and the waitress (an older woman dressed in black) was extremely friendly and got the job done. My time was short, so got a Cobb wrap to go. It was huge, and tasted excellent. I used to order from east diner market all the time. Same order, either the pancakes or the french toast with fried eggs, turkey sausage and turkey bacon. I always order delivery, my order usually is $13 to $15 dollars the most, today i forgot to ask the price and suddenly my order was $24. Thats almost 10 dollars in difference. And when i called the restaurant the told me they did changed the prices but why didn't they tell me? And to put the cherry on top the guy on the phone was very disrespectful and discourteous. 'That's too complicated,' she retorted. 'You mean over easy.' That should have sent a little red flag up, but hunger got the best of me. My order arrived in about 15 minutes, a fair time considering I am not sure exactly how far by bike they are from where I was, but when I opened the container, I discovered that RAW egg whites were running all over -and being absorbed by - my pancakes. I was instantly and completely disgusted. Threw the entirety of the contents into the trash and promptly called Happy for breakfast. I just had the good fortune to eat lunch at the East Market Diner. It was Martin Luther King Jr. day, business was slow, and I must say - it was absolutely the highlight of my entire week! It was only the first time I have ever been there, so I really can't claim to be an expert. I had a bowl of the soup - spinach meatball - and the Bushwick grilled cheese. Both were simple perfection - every thing a great diner should be and nothing more. The soup had a gorgeous home made chicken stock base and some tasty grains along with just the right amount of spinach and meatballs. This was the chef's personal creation, not some recipe. The grilled cheese was an indulgent bacon/tomato/avocado grilled cheese, and it had American cheese, nothing high fulutin. it as great though. It just seemed like it was made for someone hungry. None of this, however, was as memorable as the waitresses working there. One woman with a mid century hairdo and her grand daughter ran the house - and they were as warm and as real as you will ever encounter anywhere. Go to this place.
