Pernil (roasted pork) - they have completely MASTERED this recipe for continuous volume. Rice & Beans $16. on 1/8/24

I remain in my position: This is the best restaurant in East NY. Again, this is a Mom & Pop and you will eat what they have featured, but they ALWAYS cover the basics. Their roasted pork (Pernil) is second to none.

Always on point. Whenever I'm in the hood (Bushwick) in the mood for some Dominican food, first stop is here!

Foods tasty. Chicken could be less dry but I'd definitely eat from here again. Their passion fruit juice is also good.

I went with the 1/4 chicken combo, which came with rice, beans, a fried egg, and a side salad topped with avocado. The chicken itself had great flavor -- the white meat was a little on the dry side (as expected), but still seasoned well enough to keep it enjoyable. The spicy green sauce and garlic sauce on the table were both excellent and really tied everything together. My total came to $21.78 after tax. Overall, a flavorful and satisfying meal with some solid extras that make the experience stand out.

Ordered 4 of the same meals, came out to $100. One had dietary restriction- no egg, no pork, no sausage. The other had an allergy restriction- no egg. The reminder orders were good. The dietary one, had egg in it!!! I had to check the allergy one before I gave it to the person for fear we would need an epiPen. Luckily but still cautious, we didn't. The dietary one couldn't eat the food though, it was given away to a homeless person. We were too far in another city by the time we released the mistake on foods, hence why I said check everything. The taste: it lacked flavor. The best thing on the plate was the Maduros (sweet plantains), avocado, and that green sauce (which they only give small containers for purchase). Would I recommend? Not really. If in a pinch maybe.

Everything looks so good that it was hard for me to decide what I wanted to eat. The service was prompt and efficient. They offer a $6.00 lunch special but the only meat selection you can choose from is the different varieties of chicken. The server suggested that we try the teriyaki chicken and we decided to get it. The teriyaki chicken was really good and I'm glad that I decided to try it based on his suggestion. The rice and beans, oh how enjoyable the rice and beans was......exactly how I love it. The lemonade was really good as well. I really enjoyed my meal at Loma and can't wait to come back soon. By the way, there is plenty of seating in the back and it's air conditioned.

The restaurant looked more of a take out spot and it appeared clean. The staff were very friendly and moved quickly to get people their orders. They had a small hot enclosed buffet style area and all of the food looked delicious. My mom told me about this spot since she's been here a few times and enjoyed the food. They had affordable lunch specials which was right up my alley and I ordered the stew chicken with rice and beans. I was able to eat my lunch and have seconds later on for dinner that's how plentiful the plate was for me. The food tasted just liked it look, "tasty." I wish it would've came with some plantains but it seems like you had to order them extra. I ordered a side of potato salad that my mom raved about and it was just okay to me. I will definitely return to check out some other menu items.

Off the bat, the exterior seems kinda plain but the inside the area is themed just like how it would be coming into a brick and mortar South American restaurant. Latin music, treats and snacks from their country. Service was swift, steady and courteous as it took no longer than 5 minutes for my food to reach my table. My lunch for the day was the Grilled Chicken Pabellon Lunch Special, Chicken Empanada, Tequequava and Tamarind juice. When the pabellon got to my table I thought it was a little on the small side but it was surprisingly filling. The Grilled chicken, a bit on the salty side still had taste to it and it was a good mix to go with the rice and beans. I loved the texture of the Empanada I had and the Tequequava (Cheeze & Guava stick) was actually superb. Never thought Mozzarella cheese could mix well with Guava fruit, but it was a solid blend. The Tamarind juice was sweet and savory. That was quite a meal I've ordered yet came just under $30 so everything was reasonably priced. The place is on a seemingly sketchy area of Cypress Hills but it's worth a second visit because the food is good and the menu has a bevy of choices there.
