They didn't give me any ranch or sauce for my zucchini sticks and no condiments or utensils as I'd requested. No parm or pepper for the pizza. Also the fried zucchini sucked. I'm pissed I paid $8 for them! It was soggy, cold and a stringy mush on the inside. They do serve pizza by the slice which can run you about $4.50-$5.50 and honesty they give you a pretty big slice. I did order the pizza through google which used a third party, so odd because I got an email stating that I should call the restaurant and ensure they got the order... why didn't I call the restaurant directly to order from them from the beginning duhhhh!! Brooklyn Square has become my go-to pizza place for delivery. They have a huge menu of New York and homestyle pies and sandwiches. Even with this large menu everything I've had has been reliably good. The delivery/carry out is also fast, even during the dinner rush. The New York style pizzas are big with crisp and chewy crusts. The Grandma style pies are more like eating a pizza atop a rich focaccia bread. Whether you prefer the round or square pie, you really can't go wrong. The spicy pepperoni Grandma pie is a personal favorite, it's topped with crushed green chilies (maybe hatch?) that make it really unique.The sandwich quality is also impressive. The Italian, New York Reuben, and Buffalo chicken were all good enough to order again. I finally decided to walk in one day and was pleasantly surprised that there was a unique pizza place near 85 oC. I ordered a single slice of the spinach ricotta pizza, which came out to about $7. I enjoyed that they had large single slices for an affordable price - perfect for anyone wanting to sample their pizzas. All of their pizzas are on display, and you can see exactly what you get before you pay. Once you select your slices, they heat it up in the kitchen, and your pizza is ready to enjoy. The spinach ricotta was enjoyable, definitely up there with one of the best that I've had with the exception that it was reheated. I will admit that their pizzas are slightly on the pricier side but justified given the location and how tasty it was. The pizzas had a fairly thin crust, and the crust was crisp but soft enough to eat. The only less enjoyable part of the experience was how loud the music was. I think this place is a bit overpriced for what you get. My sandwich was 60% lettuce which made it overall difficult to eat and not very filling. I can't speak for the Ruben since I didn't try it but he couldn't even finish it because he said it was one of the worst he tried. I will say something that was a bit irritating was the employees SCREAMING names out in the shop. It's a VERY small shop and there wasn't music playing so if they had yelled it at a reasonable level it would have gotten the point across. If someone couldn't hear them yelling, chances are the person was not in the shop - it was that hard to miss. It was very distracting when you're trying to make conversation or focus. The employee also seemed to get annoyed when an order wasn't picked up? Not sure what that was about since that's on the person who isn't there but the attitude of the employees struck me as a bit odd. I've dined here many times before and enjoyed my pizza. Typically if you order a whole pizza you do have to wait a bit, which is no problem. However, this last time I waited 40+ minutes for my pizza. It seemed as though our pizza was forgotten...this left a sour taste in my mouth. I had to go ask if our pizza would be coming out soon. I know they typically take about 20 minutes to come out and that's okay. But 40 minutes . I was very disappointed. We were in here for over an hour. Not sure I will return after this visit. I don't like speaking on the phone anyway, but please make sure your online ordering is foolproof. Square Pizza 6/10 To put it plainly it's focaccia pizza. The focaccia is light and airy. Even so, your jaw will have a decent workout if you eat more than a few slices, let alone the whole pizza like I did. However, the focaccia lacks depth and flavor--maybe more salt, add EVOO, longer proof? Right now, just tastes like sandwich bread, which makes sense. I dunno, I'm no pizza maker, I just eat. But the square crust is missing something. The sauce is boss: the acidity is just right and the zest is perfect. The pepperoni is a huge weak point. In this price range I expect thick cut slices that curl. The spicy pepperoni specialty adds what appears to be diced & pickled jalapenos which heightened the flavor profile for me. NY Slice 10/10 I just got a reheated slice to go, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but it's the best cheese slice I've ever had. I'm still in a bit of disbelief. The chew and flavor of the crust was just right, the aforementioned sauce was also perfect here, and the cheese ratio was on point. And together, the slice transcends the sums of its parts. If you look at the receipt, they add a surcharge...for using a credit card! Who doesn't use a credit card in today's world? The square pizza is like Digiorno's frozen pizza. The so-called Brooklyn pizza is not like anything in New York. The crust is crispy instead of floppy. All it's got going for it is that it's large and cheap. The place is small but has enough seating and few enough dine-in customers where seating is available. Extra cheese and pepper flakes are available. Lots of other pizza places out there, which is where you should go. read more

Was eagerly waiting to see what restaurant would take over this spot in Old Town. This spot has been vacant for quite some time as the previous sushi restaurant shut down without much notice. Was pleased to see a fairly lengthy menu for a pizza restaurant. Placed my order via Toast and walked over. Originally ordered an antipasto salad and a cold bada bing sub. As I walked in, I browsed their pizza showcase and ended up ordering a few slices to try with the fam. Antipasto salad was good though some of the greens have seen better days. Pretty big portion and cold cuts were good. Bada bing hero was also good. Pretty generous amount of cold cuts and a good balance of flavors throughout the sandwich. Assorted pizza slices were good but will have to have one freshly made. Glad they did gently warm the slices but was cold again from my 10 min walk home. Overall a nice addition to the list of dining options in Old Town and will be back to have a freshly baked pie and to try some of the other sandwiches. read more

The lowdown from my experience sandwiches: Italian and Ruben Had high expectations given that they were using boars head deli meat and they had squaw bread (a la Perry's Joint). Unfortunately the deli meat (generous) to bread thickness (too thin) didn't work, and couldn't keep the sandwich together. Maybe you like to eat a whole bunch of meat--I'd prefer a balance of all the ingredients. Bread on the Ruben was burnt. Also had these pizza slices: grandma, grandma with pep, cheese- It was interesting, as my notion of ny style pizza is more something akin to a soft chewy base (tomato pie in south pas) than the sorta crispy style that reminded me of a thin Chicago slice. It wasn't bad, just different. The cheese slice was the closest to NY but I think in the oven reheating (before they gave it to me) or something, it got too hard and didn't taste (chew/bite) that good. Friendly but in terms of food/price, I think there's other options out there that shine. read more
