WOW!! Will be returning for this magical high tea experience. My partner and BFF surprised me with high tea for my birthday this weekend, and I was awestricken by the entire experience.
Food: 5/5
We opted for The Heights experience, which is a 90 minute experience that includes seasonal soup (tomato + olive oil) and mini savory biscuits, seasonal side salad (arugula salad with yuzu dressing), 1 pot of tea/person (this was bottomless and you can change your flavor, if desired) plus several sweetener and non-dairy/milk options, 4 finger sandwich flavors/person, fresh scones and crumpets + the fixings (clotted cream, strawberry jam, lemon curd, and herb butter), and 4 desserts (chocolate-covered strawberries, macarons, lemony pastry, and chocolate mousse).
Everything was DELICIOUS!! We especially enjoyed the unique finger sandwiches -- sweet plantain and mascarpone (special of the day), Brie and fig preserves, maple bacon bites (special of the day), and Branston pickles and cheddar. Likewise, the tomato soup with mini savory biscuits, crumpets with herb butter, and chocolate-covered strawberries were highlights.
Tea: 5/5
We got so full that we weren't able to take advantage of the bottomless tea, but the flavors we did try were great! We especially loved their Scottish Toffee Pu'er; it was such an interesting and flavorful twist on a pu'er tea and paired well with oat milk and sugar. Honey, the business owner, also let us take what was left of our teas in to-go cups!
Service: 5/5
Hands down the best service I've received at any food establishment. Honey did temperature checks at the door then walked us to our table in the garden. She walked us through what the service entailed and explained that we would be working with 2 servers: the tea server and food server. Both Emerson and Izzie were so kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. They made my birthday extra special by surprising us all with a cake from the kitchen and a gift to take home for the entire table! I definitely cried bc that was so kind and unexpected.
Ambiance: 5/5
My partner reserved a space in the garden, which was absolutely breathtaking and very much like I had been transported to a Jane Austin-inspired garden oasis. There was a great balance of natural light pouring into the garden and shade from the banisters. Light music was playing in the background that set a relaxing vibe, and allowed for easy conversation.
Covid Safety Measures: 5/5
There is both indoor and outdoor dining space; we did outdoors and felt safe the entire time. Capacity is limited and tables are a paced apart more than 6 feet to keep everyone safe. Staff wears masks at all times; when you enter/exit (essentially when you're not at your table) you wear a mask. Your temperature is checked before entering the establishment, and the staff cleans tables between guests.
P.S. Honey also owns a vintage shop on the same block called 1 Of A Find. It's a beautiful shop filled with vintage clothes, shoes, jewelry, lots of plants for sale, natural soaps/candles/incense, and much more. Definitely stop by after your tea experience! read more
