Walnut Shrimp
Xue Lin L.

Came here on a Friday night. There was a little bit of a wait because there were a few people in front of me and I ordered a snack, but there's tables for you to sit and wait at. The bubble tea tasted very fresh and had a strong tea flavor. We ordered a brown sugar milk tea and a jasmine milk tea. The bubble tea wasn't overly sweet like some of chain places. The walnut shrimp was delicious! Great tasting sauce and good ratio of sauce to shrimp. There's broccoli underneath for presentation - I don't typically eat that. Will be coming back to try more things! Note that they are cash only.

HOW WAS THE ATMOSPHERE? We had an amazing evening at the Orchid Tea Cafe. Upon walking in, it was a busy but calm atmosphere! Definitely unique decor! Because the space is so small, we called beforehand to make sure there was a table available, and when we came in, she asked if we called and definitely accommodated us! Even if I am not in the neighborhood, this is a great spot to travel to when I want a nice quiet, cozy place with a Amazing Food and great service to meet up with a friend or go out on a date HOW WAS THE FOOD? We got Rose Black Wolfberry Tea, a hot coffee boba (no bubbles), the volcano mussels, the cucumber salad, and the seafood spaghetti Volcano Mussels and Spicy cucumber salad (wasn't that spicy- but I believe you can adjust spiciness) both were a 10 out of 10 My friend had the spaghetti seafood pasta. She would probably say it was a 7.5/10. They ran out of tapioca bubbles, so we were not able to try them. WAS THE SERVICE GOOD? I believe we were helped by the owner of the shop? We met her son and immediately felt right at home. It was like she welcomed us right in. Even though they were consistently receiving orders, she was still very attentive and answered all of our questions WILL WE COME BACK? When I am in the neighborhood, I will 100% be returning back - #1 for the service #2 for the flavor of food ( am a big flavor snob) and #3 for the atmosphere

New favorite cafe in this neighborhood! Cozy is definitely the right word to describe this teeny tiny shop which seats 3 tables. The owner was extremely friendly and was very attentive when making my drink to ensure the taste and presentation was solid. The decoration was so cute and I couldn't help but take tons of photos and videos. Definitely a cute date spot for snacks and drinks. I got the mango orange tea and it is so refreshing and filled with tons of fresh fruit! I am definitely coming back here again.

It is a really nice, cozy, and great small business. The owner is the sweetest woman ever. I first found this cafe with my friend around late 2020 or early 2021, and it's just as good as before. The drinks are all made with fresh ingredients. I have not tried the food items, but my friend has, and he's enjoyed it. Definitely get fruit drinks. Note: Be prepared to wait. Don't expect drinks to come quickly and leave within minutes at like at other Boba shops. Also, do check their hours ahead of time as they may be inconsistent with the days they're opened. Suggest calling to make sure.

This small tea shop is really hidden and its usually closed whenever I past by. Checked Yelp to make sure their opening time and finally walked in to try it out. Ordered the Egg Waffle with Mochi ice cream for dine-in (can't really carry my ice cream to-go). Boss lady moved tables and chairs around for me to at least sit and enjoy my order. Also, ordered the Walnut Shrimp ($6) for takeout; so I'll have food for dinner. The Egg waffle was burnt and hard to bite into, mochi ice cream didn't really help much, even with all the whipped cream on top~ No go for this dessert. The walnut Shrimp tasted amazing with this mayo Sriracha sauce that's tangy and delightful. Will swing by next time for the Walnut Shrimp again

I've been wanting to try this spot since pre-covid. I love the ambiance and the service here! The food and drinks are really delicious for a reasonable price. But I just wish the location would be noticeable. Although that would cause more traffic here! But I absolutely will be coming back here often!

Amazing bubble tea and snacks! We had the lychee strawberry fruit tea, brown sugar milk tea, and popcorn chicken. Lovely aesthetic and great vibes. Would be a great place to have a date or get some work done!

Beautiful ambiance. It's cute inside, food and drinks are tasty and reasonably priced.

The decor is incredible inside the space, and the staff are equally kind and attentive. We got the grand Vanderbilt tea option, and tried the English breakfast tea, Darjeeling, and Earl Grey. The sandwiches were all rather delicious, though I found the scones a bit dry. The desserts were small, but also delicious. I wouldn't come here if you're extremely picky about afternoon tea food as the food was pretty standard. Overall, I think this high tea is quite good for the value, and the staff were always stopping by to check if we needed a tea refills. I would definitely come back, especially given the nice ambience and overall experience.

I had a morning to kill before a work event and wanted afternoon tea! This reservation was not easy to get and I was lucky to snag a less desirable 10am ish reservation. It was cold outside (all the inside seats were full) but they provided warm, fuzzy heated blankets so it wasn't much of an issue. I wish I'd been able to pick which tea I got but the house black tea they served and picked for me was good. The sandwiches were delicious but I found the desserts to be lacking. Service was wonderful. There's only one bathroom and it was very clean and aesthetic, like most of the decor. It screams maximalist and vintage, very fun. Everything was good but I'm not sure if it's worth the steep price. There's other more reasonably-priced afternoon tea service options in the city.

This is my first time at the Brooklyn location and I really liked the zen vibes and minimalistic decor. I prefer a more earthy, grassy matcha (aka the uji) but I wanted to switch it up and went for the nishio in a hot cortado format. It was indeed very creamy and floral. I also got to try the yame matcha latte with oat milk. The yame itself is advertised to be more nutty and the oat milk definitely amplified it. Both drinks had really well mixed matchas with a good milk ratio respectively. While I would give their matcha and location a 5, I dropped it to 4 for this particular location due to their service. I'm not sure what didn't click but we had so much trouble trying to order the usucha matcha. We tried the name usucha twice and even tried alternative names like the short serving. She said a bunch of things but didn't really explain if it wasn't available or had other recommendations. We gave up and went for the yame matcha instead. Again solid matcha drinks and cute space but my experience with staff would be better next time!

There is some counter space, but mainly for standing purposes. I ordered a standard Iced Matcha Latte with Oat Milk ($7.35) and my friend got her usual Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte ($8). Docking 1/2 point bc the matcha is pre-made. I'm a fan of the whisking process bc I do believe there's a craft to matcha overall. Surprisingly, my drink tasted fine and my bev was a good color, so I was pleasantly happy. We waited less than 10 min for a table to open up, but you have to be there at the right time, otherwise you prob just grab your drink + go. Overall, glad I tried Kijitora. It's not my first matcha choice, but it was decent for a standard matcha latte. Their specialty matcha drinks look to have mixed reviews, but I'm personally not a fan of sweet drinks.

The tote bags were so cute but they were kind of pricey in my opinion. A standard beige Kijitora bag was priced for $30 each! They had several designs for sale. I was just busy checking out the cool cat merchandise while I was waiting in the long line to purchase the matcha drinks. The line was exceptionally long! It was worth the hype though! When I was my turn, I got an iced strawberry matcha latte and an iced mango matcha latte. It was so pretty when I got them. The mango and strawberry paste were sitting at the bottom of the matcha latte. I had to stir and mix the fruits with the whole drink. Surprisingly it was not sweet at all and was just right! They made it in a way that wanted you to crave more of it. It was very addicting. I did not get onigiris this time but will be sure to get some next time I'm here. They were just $4 each for miso salmon, tuna mayo, mentaiko cod roe, sukiyaki beef, and chashu pork. What a decent price for one onigiri! I would definitely be sure to get the miso salmon next time I'm here. The place was very cute with nice little tables for individuals. The place was very cozy with lots of sunlight coming in. Very modern with plants all around. It was so loud with people talking over each other. There were too many people on a Sunday afternoon so I had to walk around or cut through people to get my way. It was that crowded. I also didn't expect this place to be on the second floor and the stairs to be that steep. It was hectic carrying my stroller upstairs. Luckily someone helped me get down! The stairs are very narrow so I had to hold onto the rail. It was not ergonomically friendly at all.

You can get these drinks hot or iced. I had all of them iced! I also had one of the best iced matcha lattes ever from here with sweet coconut milk. WOW. From what I've seen, baked goods change daily and their drink menus change semi often as well, which is exciting!! Outside, there is some seating, lovely items and books for purchase and a window to order, as well as the menu items displayed on boards and items around the space. There were prices for different items displayed in more than one spot, and not on just one menu. I decided to just order off the top of my head since I couldn't figure it out. In addition to the Hood Healer and Lentil soup I received, as a Yelp Elite, I ordered some tea. The place reminded me of the type of spot that is local, and ancestral, and kind of like -- just ask and see what is available. It gives a small town feel, in a sense. There are books for sale, which was delightful and the books seemed to be titles of varying genres, all fairly priced. The service was excellent, quick and efficient. And very helpful and very friendly. Now that I think of it, the spot could have been a cafe in Diagon Alley (IYKYK). But on the good side of things. I couldn't see inside of the small window from where I ordered my food, but I'm pretty sure there was some sort of magic going on back there based on how tasty the lentil soup was, in addition to the Hood Healer, which after taking one sip, I said, "mmm" out loud. Both the soup and drink were excellent and perfectly seasoned. I could feel the effort that was put into both items and it felt like it was made on the spot from all natural ingredients. I was very heavenly pleasantly surprised.
