A very sweet and cozy little Chinese owned cafe that is reminiscent of a warm living room kind of setup. The owner was friendly, kind, and receptive towards listening to feedback to continue to improve and provide diners with the best experience possible! She spoke Cantonese, Mandarin and English, which was very impressive! I got the matcha red bean drink with tapioca, which was very creamy and not overly sweet; it's cute that it comes in a beer mug which adds to its charm. The volcano mussels were very flavorful, meaty, and reasonably priced, so highly recommend! The shrimp and sausage pasta was also very delicious, but could be improved easily by adding a little bit more cheese, bit more sausage, and onions, all of which would add more complexity to the dish to simply make it the perfect comfort food! The egg waffle was by far the BEST egg waffles you can find in all of NYC in my opinion; the side around each egg waffle was deliciously crunchy, and the interior was soft with a light egg flavor that doesn't taste as artificial as many other egg waffle places! I bought some home for my daughter and "accidentally" ate half haha, and my daughter loved it! So please give their plain egg waffle a try and enjoy its simplistic yet perfectly balanced flavor profile! Because the space is so small, we called beforehand to make sure there was a table available, and when we came in, she asked if we called and definitely accommodated us! We got Rose Black Wolfberry Tea, a hot coffee boba (no bubbles), the volcano mussels, the cucumber salad, and the seafood spaghetti Volcano Mussels and Spicy cucumber salad (wasn't that spicy- but I believe you can adjust spiciness) both were a 10 out of 10 My friend had the spaghetti seafood pasta. She would probably say it was a 7.5/10. They ran out of tapioca bubbles, so we were not able to try them. WAS THE SERVICE GOOD? I believe we were helped by the owner of the shop? Came here on a Friday night. There was a little bit of a wait because there were a few people in front of me and I ordered a snack, but there's tables for you to sit and wait at. The bubble tea tasted very fresh and had a strong tea flavor. We ordered a brown sugar milk tea and a jasmine milk tea. The bubble tea wasn't overly sweet like some of chain places. Food is so delicious! Make sure you go with plenty of time - service is slow, I think there's two locations? We went to the one on the corner of 8th Ave and 47th st. Probably about 8 tables. Very cute, cozy drink/hang out spot in Sunset Park -- a hidden gem. It's on a side street so it might be hard to find and not much people know about it. They also have a sister cafe by same name down the avenue which offers more food. This spot is more for a hang out spot with your friends after dinner. The place is small and only have about two tables. However, the ambiance is great. The place is decorated with plants, books, games. It really gives off that cozy, homey vibe. The drinks are great. Tried mostly their dim sums which I must say are surprisingly good. Their hargows are fresh and yummy. I love their egg yolk custard buns that are black. It is a really nice, cozy, and great small business. The owner is the sweetest woman ever. I first found this cafe with my friend around late 2020 or early 2021, and it's just as good as before. The drinks are all made with fresh ingredients. I have not tried the food items, but my friend has, and he's enjoyed it. Definitely get fruit drinks. Note: Be prepared to wait. Don't expect drinks to come quickly and leave within minutes at like at other Boba shops. Also, do check their hours ahead of time as they may be inconsistent with the days they're opened. I went after school with the kids since we were in the neighborhood and sat drawing and doing a bit of homework as we watched regulars stop by and chat with each other and with the owner/counterperson. There is a community vibe and that extends to the entire globe, judging from all the international hand drawn messages of love and cute doodles from every corner of the earth hung on the back wall. We had three perfect teas: jasmine milk, brown sugar milk, and mango milk (with real diced mango). All of them perfectly delicious and fresh. What a cool independent tea shop! Very interesting decor inside- really reminded me of the tiny Tokyo places you would find down an alley. There's food as well as really amazing fruit tea. At first, I was thinking, "how good can tea be?" Well look no further. They have this amazing machine that shakes the tea up with fruit juices.
